Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Belgium: Jihadis threaten to kill Antwerp mayor if he doesn’t convert to Islam

May 25, 2015 12:15 pm By Robert Spencer

Bart De WeverWell, you see, he provoked them. If he had just kept his mouth shut, all would be well…wouldn’t it?

(Yes, folks, that is sarcasm. The idea of tiptoing around so as not to offend Islamic jihadists is a recipe for surrender and subjugation.)

“Convert to Islam or Die! Mayor of Antwerp Given Ultimatum by Extremists,” Sputnik International, May 25, 2015:

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – Islamic extremists in Belgium have publicly threatened to kill the mayor of the Belgian city of Antwerp, Bart De Wever, if he does not convert to Islam, local media reported Monday.

A sign written in French stating threats against de Wever, who is also the head of the nationalist political party the New Flemish Alliance, was placed on one of the main squares of Antwerp. Experts are currently assessing the seriousness of the action and the message.

“I always warned that we will not get rid of the threat from Islamic extremists in the near future. This was ignored for years. This wound became apparent now with [the current developments in] Syria and will fester for a long time before we will get rid of it,” de Wever said.

Throughout his political career, De Wever has repeatedly received threats. The Belgian government has provided him with security guards at state expense.

In the light of advance of the Islamic State (ISIL) terrorist group in the Middle East and a number of ISIL-inspired terrorist attacks in Europe, the European Union has currently seeing a surge in anti-Islamization sentiment.

According to September 2014 statistics from Belgium’s Ministry of Interior, between 300 and 350 Belgians have gone to fight alongside the ISIL in Iraq and Syria since 2012.

Islamic extremists in Belgium have publicly threatened to kill the mayor of the Belgian city of Antwerp, Bart De Wever, if he does not convert to Islam, local media reported Monday.

What should Belgium do? Apparently, receive a conference on “islamophobia”:

    http://www.jihadwatch.org/2015/05/legitimizing-censorship-islamophobia-studies-at-berkeley

“He alleged that, “This is part of a series of conferences taking part internationally,” including Paris, London, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, and eventually India.”

de Wever, who is also the head of the nationalist political party the New Flemish Alliance…

    (…)

Oh, for God’s sake. is it really necessary to stress he’s from a “nationalist political party” or that the state is paying for his protection? Is he the only politician having state-sponsored security? Of course not. The subtext here is that he’s “extreme-right” and that his “extreme-rightness” is causing the state to have an additional expense (personal security) because he didn’t keep his mouth shut and engaged in some sort of “extreme-right” rhetoric, which is usually linked with racism and bigotry. Basically, the idea is that he “provoked” the people who want to kill him – because he’s a right.wing racist bigot – and now the state has to provide for him.

Correct. The right-wingers are to blame. Right-wing nowadays means standing up for your country, dare to oppose the spread of Islam and name Islam for what it is, it further includes being against homosexuals having the right to adopt children and so forth.

And the “left” or should we say, the worshippers of political correctness are the ones who are about to destroy society and replace it with some rainbow-coloured, we all love-each-other society, which cowardly gives in one right after the other to fascist islamist groups and ultimately needs to surrender to the cult of death – hoping till the end that the Muslims would just love to co-exist as equals.

There will be a time when they wake up and realize that they’ve been fighting the defendors of freedom all the time while helping the enemies of freedom to fulfill their plans.

This happens everywhere in the West.

When will these provocations cease . . . that myriad of infinite subtleties that compel religion-of-peace adherents to go “where no Muslim has gone before” . . . murder? The Prophet would be so disappointed at the unexplainable misunderstanding of his — repeat — his mandates and example . . .

Ahh yes…. The difference between Christianity and the Muslim… ‘faith’

God gives us a choice. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. ”

    Revelation 3:20

God DESIRES a relationship with US!! So much so He sent His Son to die on the cross for us.

“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”

    John 3:17

    Muslims on the other hand…..

Proclaim: Allah wants us to submit. “Convert or die!” Their god is a murdering god…….

“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. ”

Anyone who threatens a public official of this stature should do serious time. Call the mayor what you like, swear a blue streak at him, but a threat to his life, and a record of making good such threats, should earn someone a long ‘vacation.’ That is rule of law, unclouded by left versus right wing rationalization.

One thing for certain, failure to act strictly on this threat guarantees violence. Decisions have to be made with that in mind. You have to make decisions about what kind of society you want you and your family to live in.

this is not just a threat to the mayor, but to the whole city.

It is a declaration (a re-declaration I suppose) of war by local representatives of the Islamic Ummah. It is not a bad apple. The whole crop is spoiled because the product itself is evil.

      • Alan Fontana says

        May 25, 2015 at 6:05 pm

Notice I did not say Muslim or the like. This is what should happen to these people regardless of their belief or rationale for doing what they did.

The dealing with Jihad and Fatwas (one just went out for Pamela Geller) is a whole larger subject known as: war. Not one European leader, and certainly not 0bama, has stood up and said: “This is war.” Our first problem is with our leaders’ unwillingness to do so.

Understood, the current threat is the tip of the iceberg, and the longer the governments dilly dally, the worse it will be. Don’t have to tell me. I’m 50 miles S. of Boston and Cambridge MA, and go there often.

I Googled “Bart De Wever” and one article said he “spoke about racism, and that racism wasn’t good, but you will always find some racists everywhere you go”, AND he dared to criticize certain Moroccan Muslim Berbers who are living in Antwerp and not being the best parents they could be because they were beating their children instead of talking with them. (And as a retired elementary school teacher, I can tell you flat out, if you want to see your children do well in school, you must use kind words to show your support, and language that shows high expectations for achievement.) So good for Bart de Wever. He said it the way it is! Bravo!

As journalism, this is a remarkably sketch report. The threat comes from “a sign written in French stating threats against de Wever”. Well, what exactly were the threats? Why don’t we see photograph of this sign (only one?)? Why is the sign not quoted in its entirety? And how in the world did the journalist conclude that this sign was drawn by “Islamic extremists [plural]”? How do we know that the origin of this sign is not one individual orthodox Muslim, or even a non-Muslim?
Let’s have more attention to journalistic epistemology, please.

So like you think a French Catholic possibly wrote a sign telling the mayor to convert to islam or be killed? Only muslims threaten to kill anyone and everyone who isn’t muslim and they always travel in packs.

        Hello Marco,
Alas, you miss my point. I am complaining of bad journalism. Someone wrote a sign (unquoted and untranslated) threatening to kill a mayor. Who wrote it is a relevant question, and the (unnamed) reporter gives the answer: “Islamic extremists [plural; are there multiple distinct handwriting styles?]”. How did the reporter verify this?

I went to Brussels a few years ago with my mother and we were walking around the Grande Place where we were followed, harassed by loads of Morrocan men just wandering around looking for trouble. I approached one of the policemen there and told him and he said that there was nothing they could do about it. He advised us to take all our valuables back to the hotel which we did. They have just given up their capital and their country. The following day, we went to Antwerp and had a coffee at a little family run coffee shop and the woman who runs it told us how awful things are. These men beat up old people and rob them of their few euros and nothing is being done about it. They are a minority and they are this emboldened and arrogant knowing that they are somehow untouchable. Just wait till their population doubles. Dark times ahead for Europe and anyone trying to restore sanity is immediately shut down and branded a racist. Why can’t these enablers just convert to Islam or at least be honest and just say that they are perfectly ok with the crime islam brings wherever it goes. Thats’s what they are essentially saying every time they defend these savages.

      • Alwuhush says

        May 27, 2015 at 11:23 pm

The one thing this “minority” has neglected to do is extensive in-depth reading on the history of Europe. They frequently criticize that history, but they do not read it and realize Europe has routinely had to deal with minorities it does not appreciate. And when Europeans do so there tends to not be much left of the minorities when Europe is finished with them.

I look at the problems in Europe right now with the Muslim population and sense the native Europeans will only take just so much guff before settling the issue as they have for many centuries. And it won’t be pretty.

There is Islam, there is jihad, there are Muslims, and there are mujahideen.

Those are the only legitimate terms. All others originate from liberals and Muslims trying to convince everyone else that Islam is peaceful.

    • Linde Barrera says

To Oceanside- I like your point about using key words, but please consider this: from The American Heritage Dictionary—“Islamism: Offensive. The religious faith, principles, or cause of Islam.” – Islamist. I use “Islamist” to describe a vicious, vile Muslim. I use “Muslim” to describe my supposedly friendly Uzbek neighbors. I think there is a reason for the word “offensive” in there. Maybe it describes the feelings of repulsiveness for those who know about Islam?

But if it gives you comfort to label them “Belgian”, then go for it! Now, I want to thank you for labeling us Islamophobes. I went to the internet to look up “Judeophobe” to find out why people from many cultures would hate and fear Judaism and Jews. Some reasons listed are that Judeophobes believe that Jews control the world’s banks, that Jews control the world markets, that Jews think they are supreme, that Jews killed Jesus, that Jews poisoned wells, the list goes on. In July 2012 IRAN, a country with lots of Judeophobes announced the winner of their 1st ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL WALL STREET DOWNFALL CARTOON CONTEST. The winning cartoon depicted Jews praying before the New York Stock Exchange, drawn to look like Jerusalem’s Western Wall. So Paladin, are you a Judeophobe? Are you a detractor? A benefactor? What is your position?

I suspect it’s because words don’t have facial expressions or a specific tone that conveys sarcasm. Well, part of the reason, at least. Some people can be completely daft, others might not be at the top of their game 24/7.

I think its a cop-out. I do enjoy reading your posts, and many of them have a slightly “edgy” feel to them, in my opinion, which is great, because writing brings out the inner person. To Jihad for Bacon- I am interested in learning from you, because your family was in the middle of the Serbian- Bosnian War in the 1990’s, if you would please tell us what started that war? I

    ————————————————————
    –
After Slovenia and Croatia seceeded from Yugoslavia, Bosnian Muslims saw an opportunity to take Bosnia for themselves and the first casualty of that was a Serb who was killed in Sarajevo at a wedding.
I belive that Milosevic and Tudjman had a plan to carve up Bosnia but Izetbegovic had other ideas. When things got tough for him he was just about to sign a peace plan with Serbs but the US told him not to do that because they will back him and he will get what he wants. A lot of propaganda was being churned out. This was a civil war and all sides fought against each other and with each other. In some cases Croatians were with the Muslims and in some the fought the Muslims and received assitance from the Serbs. There wre Muslim fighters in Serbian forces as there were Serbs in Muslim forces.
Mujahadeens were brought in and horrible crimes were committed by them. That information was not in western media but some journalists like John Pilger and Scott Taylor exposed it. General Lewis MacKenzie (Canadian UN general in Sarajevo at the time) has a lot to say about that war and going to youtube and watching some of the interviews he gave is helpful.
It was easy to play on old hatreds from WWII to break up Yogoslavia. This is just a brief summary but do check Youtube videos from MIchael Savage and Alex Jones on Kosovo and the war in Yugoslavia.
