Reports appearing in April told of the harassing, jailing and fining of several Christians in Uzbekistan for exercising their right to freedom of religion or belief. One of the prisoners of conscience—Council of Churches Baptist Doniyor Akhmedov—was fined more than three years’ official minimum wage after his release from 15 days in jail.
Other prisoners of conscience to be jailed for short periods include a Protestant in Bukhara, who received seven days’ imprisonment for “illegal” religious activity and another Protestant who received 10 days’ jail time for “teaching religion illegally.” Their identities remain anonymous due to fears they might suffer further state reprisals.
Nine more Protestants were fined for “illegally storing” Christian literature and materials in their homes. Their homes were raided earlier by police who confiscated various Christian books and CDs and DVDs.
“Religious minorities face tight scrutiny in Uzbekistan as they are unable to openly practice their beliefs without facing major penalties such as jail terms or heavy fines,” reports Forum 18 News.

“Nine more Protestants were fined for “illegally storing” Christian literature and materials in their homes.” — headline
When a person becomes a born-again Christian they are “born from above” and the Holy Spirit is stored in their heart, so no amount of reprisals from man, or government, can ever take that away. And even though these precious Christians are suffering needlessly at the hands of men and their evil laws, the Holy Spirit remains intact within a Christians ‘Heart’ — a place where only God can dwell and remains untouched by human hands. So really these laws are silly and ineffective, at best; since they cannot touch the keys to true salvation through Jesus Christ and a changed heart. How foolish that they even try.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Question: “What does it mean to be a born again Christian?”
Answer: What does it mean to be a born-again Christian? The classic passage from the Bible that answers this question is John 3:1-21. The Lord Jesus Christ is talking to Nicodemus, a prominent Pharisee and member of the Sanhedrin (the ruling body of the Jews). Nicodemus had come to Jesus at night with some questions.
May I say, as an atheist, I firmly support the right of the florist to follow her religious beliefs. I think she displayed courage and integrity by standing up to the state’s attorney, and making him twist and sway in the light of unfavorable publicity and opposition, which is the last thing he wants.
It is in my interest as an American, as well as atheist, to encourage true diversity: the right of Americans to express and live their beliefs, as long as they do not encroach on the property rights or security rights of others. The fascist, militant anti-religious groups such as the Freedom from Religion Foundation has the same relationship to representing atheists as the National Organization of Women has to representing the interests of women.
The states attorney and the deciding judge are bullies who want to stay hidden under a rock, but use the power of the state and police to enforce their notion of “equality”. These bullies are scared of nothing so much as having a victim stand up to them,and shed the light of day on their activities.
Same here. She was not denying them medical help on a life or death situation, she was not protesting against them getting married, she simply refused to make flower arrangements for their wedding. What they should have done was simply take their money elsewhere.
“You are Christian… you will burn in hell and have your throat slit” a headline on an incident with Australian federal police and later, a Sydney court room.
27/5, Australia, 2015:
A Muslim woman detained in a recent counterterrorism raid allegedly punched one police officer in the face and told another she would have her throat slit…
The Muslim woman, who declined to stand for Magistrate Margaret McGlynn during the Parramatta Local Court hearing yesterday, is charged with assaulting and intimidating police.
Her lawyer Steven Boland argued she did not deliberately hit the officer. She was not the target of the search or named in the warrant but was searched when police noticed she had a mobile phone underneath her burqa, the court heard.
When a female senior constable tried to take the mobile phone from her she allegedly hurled abuse at her. Senior-Constable Stacie Gwyn told the court the woman said: “Don’t touch my phone, you’re a whore, you are Christian, you will burn in hell. You will be the first one in uniform to have your throat slit.”
After an alleged struggle to take the phone, a male officer tried to restrain the woman… and [she] struck him with a closed fist on the nose…
Scott Murphy, the federal police officer in charge of the search, said … he also heard the allegedly vile abuse …
“You can’t touch me, you like getting gang banged do you? You are in uniform you must like it. The only one who has the right is God,” Mr Murphy told the court the woman allegedly said to Sen-Const Gwyn.
The evidence of official persecution of Christians, unofficial persecution and of the discrimination in Sharia law doesn’t make any difference to Western cultural Marxists who hate Christians and want them to disappear. They use Muslims as Christian-killers. The pattern of indifference to the persecution of Christians is so pervasive among Leftards that it appears they completely support it.
Sabri S,
You do have one very effective strategy to advance Islam. Your arguments are so stupid, scattered, and illogical that they give everyone the impression that Muslims are all illiterate and not-too-bright, so they can’t be that much of a threat. In other words, you lull us to sleep.
Now, one kernel of truth in your statement is that Muslims are terribly upset and driven to uncontrollable rage by the expression of religious feeling by a non-Muslim. Islamic law mandates that non-Muslims can’t ring church bells, hold funerals, repair churches, read the bible or Torah aloud, ride higher than a Muslim….all these mandates indicate that Muslims have very fragile egos and very low self-confidence, unable to tolerate the slightest hint of any ideas or beliefs different from their own.
But, that is firmly in Islamic teaching, which clearly tells the Muslim to ignore his own thinking and just obey the fantasy moon god Allah. Any display of conscience or independent thinking in Islam is punishable by death. It’s obvious, is it not, that the vicious actions taken against peaceful proselytizers shows very clearly how terrified Muslims are at being confronted by an idea, any idea. And this is something you are proud of and brag about. If I were that stupid and unable to frame logical arguments, I would try to keep it hidden. But, Muslims take the opposite approach. They march through the streets and shout at rallies that they are petrified and enraged at the prospect of hearing ideas different from their own.
Very familiar. Just look how intolerant muslims are of other religions in the lands they occupy.
“Sharia law”
Ah, here it is, the so-called “imaginary islamic law”.
“does not condone drone attacks or military occupation does
There were no drones back then, but if there were muhammad would certainly have used them. And of course islamic law condones military occupation, otherwise there wouldn’t be any islamic world nowadays.
Keyword here being “Kaffir” – if America were a muslim-majority country I don’t doubt Sabri would find some convoluted way to justify having 10 times as many bases through the world.
Nah, you’re a bore because you keep churning the same, old, discredited lies. “Oh, woe is me. The US is a mean, old bully and Israel is occupying ‘palestine’. Drone attacks are bad, even though they’re aimed at terrorists who not only have, but also want to, kill innocents. Whaaaaa! Whaaaaa!”
“how about
NOT proselytizing the wrong religion in muslim
What you call “muslim countries” are in fact occupied lands belonging to Jews, Christians, pagans, Buddhists, Sikhs, etc. Name me one are of the world where islam predates Christianity. You can’t because there’s none. Zero. Nada. Zilch.
“What next, handing out
Bibles with bottled water and complaining when you
Kaffir s are driven out or in the dirt where you belong.”
The so-called “Kaffir” belong to the same ethnic stock as muslims. In fact, Christianity in any given “muslim” land can trace its roots to before the invention of islam. What Sabri is saying is that ethnic members of a country with roots stretching far back before the invention of islam around the 8th century need to be expelled form their native, ancestral lands.
“Keep your disrespectful proselytizing and stealth conversion”
No one is forcing muslims to convert to Christianity (or any other religion, or atheism, for that matter). They do so out of their own free will after realizing how rotten islam is.
The Doctor says
“stealth conversion”
That is because Satan (whom you call Allah) demands that any who leave Islam be put to death. Eliminate the death penalty for apostasy and Islam will vanish in two generations or less.
Kepha says
Sorry, Sabri. Jesus said we are to make disciples of all nations–just as you Muslims have commands to wage violent jihad and keep us Ahl-al-Kitab in a subordinate place.
Even you Muslims admit that Jesus-body and soul-is in Heaven, awaiting the time to judge the living and the dead, and will be judge; while at the same time, you admit that the body of Muhammad lies in the dust of Medina in the Hijaz, along with the rest of us sinners. If you thought of the implications of such things (lifted, I should ad, from Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians, perhaps via a garbled memory of hearing it read in a church service), you would realize that the Islamic religion is false, and Jesus is far more than a mere human prophet. You might also realize that Jesus is in heaven as body and soul because he is the conqueror of our great and last enemy, death, whom we must all face.
Hence, since we know of the one who is subduing all of our enemies (even to the point of alienating our sins from us and judging it apart from judging our persons), to ask us to keep away from Islamic lands is to tell us to condemn our neighbors and fellow bearers of the divine image to Hell.
voegelinian says
With “President” of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov (really Dictator for the last 25 years), we seem to have a species of that subtype of Muslim political leader, the Strong Man who rules with an iron fist and tries through ruthless measures to control seditious jihadism (i.e., normative, mainstream, grassroots Islam) from toppling his regime. This seems to have evolved in the modern era as a response to the modern hegemony of the Western Infidels (first through centuries of Western Colonialism mastering most of the Third World — which historically included most of the territories Islam conquered through its own spectacular imperialism in its first few centuries).
Other “Strong Men” of various flavors in our modern times have been Ben Ali of Tunisia (heir to his predecessor Habib Bourguiba); Mohammed V of Morocco (whose son, Mohammed VI, who gained the throne in 1999; Indonesia’s Sukarno and Suharto in the wake of the dissolution of Dutch control; Turkey’s Ataturk in the wake of WWI; Iran’s Pahlavi dynasty, the father and son Shahs; Egypt’s Nasser and his various successors…
Meanwhile, Saddam Hussein of Iraq and Khadafi of Libya were simply bolder more eccentric versions of the same who periodically tried to assert their flamboyantly evil independence from the “Great Satan” (though Khadafi toward the end was showing signs of trying to be a good boy and get along, certainly a better alternative for our Realislamik concerns — if anybody in Western politics actually had a Realislamik — than Obama’s facilitation of the Libyan jihadist coup).
And on one level we can also include the Saudi dynasty of Arabia and the military theocracy of Pakistan in this pattern.
All these political subtypes reflect a geopolitical rapprochement with the Western Infidel — both during the long global regime of Western Colonialism and from the mid-29th century to the present under the American hegemony in alliance with the Rest of the West. Overall, this reflected the protracted circumstance of staggeringly unprecedented inferiority vis-a-vis its perennial enemy in which Islam — i.e., the Islamic Caliphate (the classical one, that is) — found itself by the time the 20th century unfolded (not to mention a good two centuries prior).
By the way, do you guys realize that there is no real Islam without an Islamic Caliphate? That means that Muslims have been suffering the loss and lack of a main part of their sociopolitical and cultural (which in Islam = theological) identity & existence for nearly 100 years (the classic Caliphate was dismantled in 1923). And when Muslims suffer a lack and loss of their primal identity, all they can think about, pray about, plot about and machinate, is the restoration of that, by hook (violence) or by crook (deception).
So, as with these other “Strong Men”, we see them often repressing, suppressing and oppressing the various types of jihadists who keep bubbling up naturally in any Islamic society, since nothing short of berserk fanatical Perfection truly satisfies the Muslim, and the jihadist is just engaging the logic of Islam in this regard. Why have various Strong Men behaved this way? Aren’t all Muslims supposed to be extremists, exploding or ready to explode at any given moment? Obviously, if that’s the only definition we have of a problematic Muslim, we will be at a loss to explain all the Muslims Who Seem to Just Wanna Have a Sandwich. At any rate, the proper methodology the Counter-Jihad should apply whenever we encounter Muslims who aren’t exploding (or stabbing or beheading) is not to assume there’s a redeeming reason for that lack of conspicuous extremism — but rather we should begin with the axiom that the Muslim is nefariously fanatical (and that fanaticism informed by the supremacist expansionism that endangers us) and then “reverse engineer” an explanation for why they seem to be un-extremist.
So to recap, we explain a Muslim leader like Karimov not as an actually moderate or un-extremist Muslim, but rather as a Muslim leader who adroitly plays a double game in a context where the Great Satan Infidel nation-states are cramping his style, with some local cultural and political concerns augmenting that. Consider, for example, that Karimov and his party idolize as a spiritual and political inspiration and symbol of cultural pride the hideously evil and amazingly ruthless Muslim Tamerlane of the 14th century — a Muslim whose imperialistic warpath was as bad if not worse than ISIS. That would be like a leader of Germany for the past 25 years openly and officially idolizing Adolf Hitler. The reason Karimov has not joined the Jihad is not because he doesn’t believe in it and doesn’t want to — it’s because for whatever reasons he realizes it’s not expedient (yet).
http://www.allgov.com/news/us-and-the-world/dictator-of-the-month-islam-karimov-of-uzbekistan?news=843472
And so, while Karimov continues to play his double game, navigating his weaselly dictatorship somewhere between the style of a Mubarrak and a Khadafy, he must remain vigilant against the fanatical jihadists (i.e., normal Muslims) who keep bubbling up threatening the perennial coup d’everything which Islam’s insanity inculcates. Example:
Last year in Tashkent, “a group of Muslim women have been arrested on charges of “radicalism” for teaching the Quran. According to state television, [the] group of women …were teaching children Quran at home…
…According to “Ozodlik” radio, the women’s husbands were previously caught as Hizbut Tahrir members. [Look up “Hizbut Tahrir” – it’s one of the thousands of terrorist groups that pullulate out of the Muslim world from the Philippines to Morocco and everywhere in between, including increasingly in our Western lands]
