Bishoy Armia Boulous, formerly known as Mohammed Hegazy, an apostate from Islam in Egypt, remains imprisoned on charges of blasphemy related to his conversion to Christianity.
Imprisoned now for approximately a year, he has been held well past the legal six month investigation period. All this time, he has been subject to physical and verbal abuse, from both prison guards and fellow inmates on account of his “apostasy” from and “blasphemy” against Islam. He has been denied a Bible and has not had eyeglasses since they were intentionally broken some time ago.
Bishoy was initially arrested in 2013 for “spreading false news.” But, according to his lawyer, Karam Ghobrial, the real reason his client is being held and tortured in prison has to do with what made Bishoy notorious some years back in the first place: his audacity not only to convert to Christianity, but to try formally to change his religious identity from Muslim to Christian on his ID card—prompting much public animosity and death threats against him at the time.

Apostates from Islam are todays preeminent Prisoners Of Conscience. If all their identities were listed online, perhaps by Amnesty International, it would take all day to glance through their names.

Add to that list a list of all the people killed for apostasy, or suspected apostasy, with the name of the victim, country, cause of death, and the fate of the murderers. I bet the most common cause of death would be “lynched by a mob” and the fate of the murderers would be “no action taken against” or “minimum jail time”..

This is a good reminder for us followers of the Lord Jesus to pray for our brothers and sisters who languish in prison. They do so for their faith in Jesus their Saviour. None of us would like to be in their place and yet there they are in prison while we live comfortably. Jesus even said that His followers would suffer and they did and many of His followers suffer to this very day and even more so now than in the past. Yes, let us pray for them and urge our pastors and priests and rabbis to pray for them even every Sunday. There they are in prison from one Sunday to the next. “God, change the hearts of your enemies and please release your children from bondage.”

Whatever happened to the Jihad Watch regular Salah, the Christian from Egypt who praised the Egyptian Muslim people as having heralded a new Revolution of the People against Islam? This has been like the 100th Jihad Watch report about how Al-Sissi’s Egypt is actually more like SOSO (Same Old Same Old).
Angemon says
Another sneak attack on a regular who happened to disagree with you on something, eh? Truly despicable behaviour.

What a shining jewel in the crown of our Savior! Imagine his boldness to go before the ‘muzzlum’ henchmen in his local town hall and demand to change his identity from ‘mohammed’ to Bishoy! A true SOLDIER OF THE CROSS! It don’t get any better than that! God be with him and protect him!!!

Does anyone have news of Bishoy? What jail is he in? How long has he been in jail? I am at the tip of Africa and I am free to practise Christianity and so are Muslims free to practise their religion. I pray for Bishoy regularly. I have this article on public facebook. I have recently re shared it and will continue to do so. Sadly no one has yet clicked on it to indicate that they have read it. Very few people care. This I know and that is that God and our Lord Jesus cares. Therefore I care.
