Ibrahim Firouzi, a Muslim convert to Christianity in Iran, was sentenced to the maximum five years in prison for “action against national security through collusion and gathering.”
After Firouzi converted to Christianity, he was arrested on August 25, 2013 and convicted of evangelizing, colluding with “anti-regime” foreign networks, launching a Christian website, and, in short, working against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Although his prison term was supposed to end on January 13, 2015, authorities continued holding him illegally, and on March 8 sentenced him to serve another five years “in very difficult conditions.”

Our apostates from Islam are the leading lights in the struggle against Jihad violence and Sharia injustice.

Matthieu, when I first read this article, there were no posts. I provided no comment for the simple reason that I knew there would be no relief for this young man imprisoned by a sharia-based theocracy that prohibits freedom of speech, freedom of religion or even freedom of assembly (unless it is at a mosque at Friday prayer time}. Your words, however, merit response: no truer words could be written than those posted by you.
I would not be surprised to learn that Ibrahim Firouzi has been incarcerated with other apostates at the horrific Evin prison. Were it not for Raymond Ibrahim providing this information, we would not know of this young man, for it certainly has not made the Western news-of-interest category. Why? Because Christians are not rampaging across the world in frenzied episodes of mass murder in response to that which is offensive to them. That is what distinguishes Christianity from Islam, not to mention the myriad of primary theological polarities.
Thank you.

Cecilia, I think he may be in Rajaei Shahr – even more horrific than Evin. Saeed Abedini, Farshid Fathi and Alireza Seyyedian are also prisoners there.

Well, at least he wasn’t killed by a raging mob…
I wonder what’s Obama’s opinion on this subject? Oh, wait, it’s Iran we’re talking about – all it matters to Obama is that Iran gets nuclear weapons. Human rights? Pffftt, that gets in the way of his utopia, the same way it did on comrade Stalin’s and comrade Mao’s.

My guess is that if you asked Ibrahim Firouzi what he thought a marriage was, he’d probably say “one man, one woman, as long as both are alive”. If you asked him about Islam, he’d proabably say, “Nowhere near as good as Jesus Christ, and it bears a false witness to Jesus Christ.” Hence to the O and Shrillary Shroooooooo, he deserves to rot in prison for the rest of his natural life.
At least Iran makes no bones about its opposition to free speech and the freedom of conscience. Here in America, the Left prefers to nibble such things to death.
John Stefan Obeda says
We who believe that Jesus came from heaven and is our God and our Saviour from our sins rejoice that God the Holy Spirit converts fellow sinners to also believe that Jesus is their God and Saviour. Through faith in Jesus and by God’s grace for Jesus’ sake they stand before God in Jesus’ righteousness and are heirs of eternal life. That’s their comfort while they languish in prison. God converts people as He did in the case of Saul (who became the apostle Paul) right in the face of Judaism and even today He converts some right in the face of the devil’s Islam. God bless them to remain faithful to their God and Saviour right in the face of persecution which Jesus said would take place. So we pray for their release and at the same time we thank and praise God for their conversion and faithfulness.

Indeed John, indeed! The upside of the horrendous suffering of our brothers and sisters in Christ is the HUGE harvest that is being reaped, both inside the prisons and out of it. The old saying that the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church is being borne out every day. God has reserved a magnificent crown of glory for these courageous men and women.

I am disturbed by the lack of coverage of these events. If we can learn how many pounds a pregnant Kardashian has gained, why are these important stories not covered? You don’t need to be an ardent Christian to care about these abuses of human rights.
