Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Vatican officially recognizes the “State of Palestine”

May 13, 2015 10:01 am By Robert Spencer

FrancisdovesFrancisdovecrowThere is no “State of Palestine” at this time. This is part of the ongoing pressure upon Israel to create one. Creating one will be a great victory for the global jihad force, as a “State of Palestine” will inevitably be a new jihad base for renewed attacks against what remains of Israel. Events will unfold just as they did when the Israelis withdrew from Gaza: while the international media hailed a new era of peace, the “Palestinians” gutted installations and prepared for jihad.

This recognition could end up being as large a blot on the Catholic Church’s record as the Inquisition and the many Catholic clerics all over Europe who went along with the Nazi program against Jews during World War II. The “Palestinians” make no secret on official PA TV of the fact that they share that same genocidal antisemitic bloodlust. This recognition only validates that bloodlust, and enables it.

For shame: “Vatican Officially Recognizes ‘State of Palestine’ in New Treaty,” Associated Press, May 13, 2015:

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Vatican officially recognizes ‘state of Palestine’ in new treaty.

The globalist creeps in the Holy See can’t bring themselves to fight for the Christians being slaughtered and terrorized in the Middle East, but it can bring itself to the idea of Jews giving their bought and paid for land to a group of aggressive fake refugees so as to guarantee the demise of Israel, the only free country in the area of Dar al-Islam. So what if the Palestinian Authority is publicly committed to the destruction of Israel, after all that’s a hegemonic negotiating point best left to diplomats. And anyway it’s only Jews we’re talking about here.

Apparently Pope Francis didn’t get the memo that the fastest growing safe haven for Christian refugees… is Israel.

    Ugh.

I guess, like many rock stars, that means he does heavy drugs.

Or, is just an anti- Semite, who sheltered child abusers when in Argentina.

It seems as though the RCC will not wake up until the baying Muslim horde has the Vatican surrounded. But then of course, it will be too late.

This story is a perfect punctuation to the story below. Another 100K Christian refugees created by Muslim jihadis, or as I refer to it, a typical Wednesday. Yet the Vatican enables jihad and ignores the plight of its flock.

Believers in hell should be more concerned by their actions which abet attempted mass murder, genocide, and the destruction of Israel.

Since God Almighty gave the Holy Land of what is Called Israel to the Jewish people who are the seed of the Prophet Avraham, there cannot be two owners of the same land, and it was the Romans who renamed Israel the Province of Palestine. For the Vatican to recognize a Palestinian State means to deny the word of Almighty GOD Himself, which makes the Vatican an apostate state of the DEVIL!

“Since God Almighty gave the Holy Land of what is Called Israel to the Jewish people….”

It does not make sense unless as some Christians argue, God abrogated His covenant with Abraham, thereby instituting a “new” covenant.

The theology you refer to is on thin ice: “And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” – Genesis 17.8

…unless there is a new definition of the word ‘everlasting’.

Right. I have known some fine Catholics on a personal basis. Several during my years of activism in our local pro-life movement. Christians (and Jews) are going will be faced with increasingly difficult choices as the years progress. Where will they / we stand? Will we stand with civilization and the Almighty or will we stand with evil and savagery? The Vatican is increasingly taking a stand on the side of evil and savagery.

Prominent Catholics have differing views when it comes to this war; several work for Fox News. Sean Hannity and Megyn Kelly look to be standing with Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller; with the God I believe in. Other Catholics at Fox News are either conflicted or (like Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham) look to have taken a confrontational position with Pamela. Taking a stand for what is right is not always easy when it goes against the teachings of your church or your country’s policies or as you say theological thin-ice.

Christians and Jews must put God first; not country, not church, not pope, not rabbi. Had German Christians, Christians throughout Europe (the Vatican) done that there would have been no second world war. There would have been no Holocaust.

From what I have experienced, Catholics don’t appear to be any more clueless than are most other Christians—or most secular people—when it comes to Islam.

Of course, that’s damning with faint praise. The problem is that *most* people in the West are still in deep denial when it comes to the threat of Islam.

A Roman Catholic myself, and at age 56, Pope Francis is my least favorite. I’m sure that I’d like him as a person, but he needs to focus on (Number One, being right) being respected, first. And by aligning the Church with all of the enemies that want it destroyed (Just like Obama aligning the United States with all of the enemies that want the US destroyed) is no way to earn respect.

Francis is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is a country that by rights should be wealthy, but it has always been infected with the bacterium of something-for-nothing socialism. Not once, not twice, but now three times that country has saw fit to screw bondholders by defaulting on its national debt in the name of social justice. In other words, to cheat. When he was elevated to the papacy, I knew that Francis would bring that into the Vatican with him, and use the Church to spread it around. What’s wrong with taking other people’s money, spread it around. To paraphrase what our secular saint pope said at a town hall when running for the presidency.

Jesus was wise when he said leave unto Caesar what is what is Caesar’s. The Church should butt out of the political economics business. More human suffering has been caused by socialism even that that caused by Moslems, to this point, at least.

There are plenty of Catholics, as well as Robert Spencer, , even Jesuits who are well aware of what Islam is about. How is it that he doesn’t consult some of them before putting his foot in his mouth again and again.
It appears that he is going to do something similar with the ecology encyclical he is about to publish. May 13, 2015 at 11:39 am

As a Roman Catholic, I am really starting to believe this.

I am familiar enough with the bible that I know that none can predict when the world will end. And I’ve watched the Jehovah’s Witnesses prophesies of imminent world doom, come and go. (I believe the latest was the Year 2000. I pointed out to the JW at my door that told me that, in 1999, I believe, that the Christian calendar was in error. Recent scholars have determined that Jesus was born about 7 years before the year zero, and that, as such, the “danger” was already past. Those folks, who are apolitical in belief, are just as bad as the progressives. Their predictions of impending gloom and doom are always wrong!)

So I’m quite skeptical whenever I hear of any prophesies.

But your Nostradamus prophesy, which I am familiar with, has started to ring true, with me.

The actions of the current pope, Pope Francis, have bothered me. Maybe I just need to hear his side of the story. But in view of ISIS’ claim to kill the pope, and being familiar with recent prophesies about the anti-pope coming from Turkey, and the coming battles between the Shia and Sunnis (Daniel Chapter 11), have got me to start believing that perhaps this time, its true! (Oh no. We’ll never be able to get the Jehovah’s Witnesses from our front door, now!)

RE: Global warming- many of the ‘scientists” who agree-if they dare to disagree, they are ostracized. Much of the data has been refuted.

Incidentally, there has been climate change for centuries, if not thousands of years. In the 1960’s– the prevailing wisdom was “another ice age” and Florida would be covered with glaciers. Leading climatologists were suggesting dropping coal ash on Antarctica and parts of the Arctic, to melt glaciers.

There was ( about 1 or 2 years ago) an archaeological dig somewhere in India-not near the water. seems, the area, about 1,000 years ago, was by the water, and then the weather changed and the land withered.

          ————————————————————————————————————–

And, without Carbon dioxide (Co2) all life would end-well, life as we know it– as trees and other green plants need it to convert to oxygen.

Isa 34:16 (first part) goes with 2Ti 2:15

Isa 34:16 (second part) – goes with Jhn 14:16

Jer 31:34 – goes with 1Jo 2:27 {and this one is the one that will set you free – from all of them).

        Isa 34:16

State of Palestine? Or Kingdom of Jordan?

*”Palestine and Transjordan are one, for Palestine is the coastline and Transjordan the hinterland of the same country.” – King Abdullah, at the Meeting of the Arab League, Cairo, 12 April, 1948
*”We are the Government of Palestine, the army of Palestine and the refugees of Palestine.” – Prime Minister of Jordan, 23 August, 1959
*”Palestine is Jordan and Jordan is Palestine; there is one people and one land, with one history and one and the same fate.” – Prince Hassan, brother of King Hussein, addressing the Jordanian National Assembly, 2 February, 1970
*”There is no family on the East Bank of the [Jordan] River that does not have relatives on the West Bank … no family in the west that does not have branches in the east.” – King Hussein, addressing the Jordanian National Assembly, 2 February, 1972
*”We consider it necessary to clarify to one and all, in the Arab world and outside, that the Palestinian people with its nobility and conscience is to be found here on the East Bank [of the Jordan River], the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. Its overwhelming majority is here [on the East Bank] and nowhere else.” – King Hussein, quoted in An-Nahar, Beirut, 24 August, 1972
*”The Palestinians here constitute not less than one half of the members of the armed forces. They and their brothers, the sons of Transjordan, constitute the members of one family who are equal in everything, in rights and duties.” – King Hussein, on Amman Radio, 3 February, 1973 (quoted by BBC Monitoring Service)
*”The new Jordan, which emerged in 1949, was the creation of the Palestinians of the West Bank and their brothers in the East. While Israel was the negation of the Palestinian right of self-determination, unified Jordan was the expression of it.” – Sharif Al-Hamid Sharaf, Representative of Jordan at the UN Security Council, 11 June, 1973
*”[Former Tunisian] President Bourguiba considers Jordan an artificial creation presented by Great Britain to King Abdullah. But he accepts Palestine and the Palestinians as an existing and primary fact since the days of the Pharaohs. Israel, too, he considers as a primary entity. However, Arab history makes no distinction between Jordanians, Syrians and Palestinians. Most of them hail from the same Arab race, which arrived in the region with the Arab Moslem conquest.” – Editorial Comment in the Jordanian Armed Forces’ weekly Al-Aqsa, Amman, 11 July, 1973
*”The Palestinians and the Jordanians have created on this soil since 1948 one family — all of whose children have equal rights and obligations.” – King Hussein, addressing an American delegation, 19 February, 1975
*”Palestine and Jordan were both under British Mandate, but as my grandfather pointed out in his memoirs, they were hardly separate countries. Transjordan being to the east of the River Jordan, it formed in a sense, the interior of Palestine.” – King Hussein, in his memoirs
    * “The Palestinians and Jordanians do not belong to different nationalities. They hold the same Jordanian passports, are Arabs and have the same Jordanian culture.” – Abdul Hamid Sharif, Prime Minister of Jordan in 1980.
*“The truth is that Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan.” – King Hussein of Jordan, in 1981.
*”Jordan is not just another Arab state with regard to Palestine but, rather, Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan in terms of territory, national identity, sufferings, hopes and aspirations, both day and night. Though we are all Arabs and our point of departure is that we are all members of the same people, the Palestinian-Jordanian nation is one and unique, and different from those of the other Arab states.” – Marwan al Hamoud, member of the Jordanian National Consultative Council and former Minister of Agriculture, quoted by Al-Rai, Amman, 24 September, 1980

In the early 1970’s (I believe 1973 or 74-not sure) the “Palestinians” tried to overthrow the King of Jordan.

While I ( and I doubt anyone knows even how many “Palestinians’ were killed-not enough-but that is my view) the numbers I heard then and now were, in excess of 10-15,000.

In 1948, when Israel was established, and ( what is now Jordan) was to be “Palestine”, the Bedouins, (on camels, primarily-what I have read) backed by British troops 9 either with the consent of the British government, or not, I do not know) demolished the Palestinians..

Those not killed, are 2nd or 3rd or 4th class citizens, and live in squalor.. With few if any rights. But, like the massacres in the Palestinian “quotation marks) in Beirut0- not a word has been said

Where I said “Palestinians” massacred min Beirut, I meant Damascus–just recently by ISIS.

however, there are “Palestinian” refugee camps in Jordan, and the people there have few rights. Even though they are 3rd and 4th ( and often more) generations living there.
Someone, in a recent reply to one of my posts, mentioned that there are “Palestinian” refugee camps in Gaza- which Israel -won in a war- turned over to “Palestinians”. (I had been unaware of that).

      • gravenimage says

        May 13, 2015 at 5:02 pm

Linde, the “Palestinians” were created as a separate people as a ploy by Yassir Arafat following the 1967 war, when the surrounding Muslim states failed to destroy Israel.

The idea of the “Palestinian people” has proven to be a very useful one—it has changed the argument—in appearance, anyway—from that of the Muslim world wanting to crush little Israel, and changed it to one of big, bad, successful and wealthy “white” Israel oppressing the poor downtrodden ethnic “Palestinians”.

Never mind that this is entirely a fiction—it has proven very popular with Western “multiculturalists”, many of whom have swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.

Never mind that the ultimate goal is still the destruction of Israel and her people, and that few “Palestinians” see a “Palestinian state” as an ultimate goal. Most of them are attracted to the idea of the Caliphate just like all other Muslims.

To gravenimage- Thank you graven, for your 5:02 pm very clear, concise answer about the Palestinian state. The more I am learning, the more I think this whole well crafted story and scenario is stealth jihad. And if you think of the stories of Scheherazade and the “1,001 Arabian Nights” (Sindbad the Sailor, Ali Baba, Aladdin, etc) which actually had their roots in Iran and India and then got translated into Arabic during the 8th-13th centuries; they were very engaging, complex stories, often with a moral. But, we cannot let these false “storytellers” of today pull the wool over our own eyes or that of other westerners. To do so means we believe and agree with their propoganda, and that will lead to victory for their evil cause. I don’t want complicity with that. Thanks again.

The west has not stopped creating new countries and nationalities. Kosovo has been created out of Serbia. Serbian southern part over decades has become predominantly Albanian. Like any loysl Muslims, Albanians decided to break away and create their own country and yes, incredibly, create a new people called Kosovars. The people there are Serb or Albanian with other minorities but there never has been a nation of Kosovar. Same with Bosnia. Muslims in Bosnia are Serbs and to a lesser degree Croatians who converted to Islam during Ottoman rule which lasted 500 years. Now the Muslims want to call themselves Bosniaks because now they have a country but the Christians there are still either Serb or Croatian.

I read somewhere that Jordon would not allow the Palestinians the same rights and privledges as Jordanians, including owning property and building a house. And that Jordon keeps the Palestinians refugees in refugee camps. If this is true, it is all the Muslims in that areas est interest to NOT accept the Palestinians and allow them to integrate into the different Islamic countries so thay all can keep, pushing for a Palestinian state. The UN also changed refugee status for justvthe Palestinians, for them if you are one of the orginal, people who, lived in Israel and left, you are a refugee, and so are your children, grandchildren and so on and so on!!!!!So the number of so called Palestinian refugees can only increase because of this stupid decision. Ordinary refugees are only the orginal, people, not their children! This is just another case of Islam being afforded special treatment, and it seems the UN is dominated by Islam as well. These so called Palenstanian refugees get money, medical care etc all free because they are ” refugees”!!!

          Linde,

Here’s a helpful clue to your question from Sherlock Holmes: take a look at the flag of Jordan and the Fakestinian flag. What is the difference in the two flags here:
          http://jewsdownunder.com/2013/12/24/abbas-in-christmas-message-jesus-was-palestinian-messenger/

The term ‘Palestinian’ started to be used on June 4th 1967. It was created by the Soviet disinformation masters in 1964, when they created the Palestinian Liberation Organization, the ‘PLO’. Keep reading…

Also read the following article: http://unitedwithisrael.org/what-the-palestinians-do-not-want-the-world-to-know/

Walid Shoebat asked, “Why is it that on June 4th 1967 I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian?”

There isn’t and never was a ‘Palestinian’ group unique and different from Jordanians. They are one people demographically, linguistically and culturally.

They should be called ‘Fakestinians’. Their unadmitted goal is reunification with Jordan.

          The flag is the clue.

Japan Has Some Questions for ‘Palestine’ Supporters…and They’re Brilliant

If you are so sure that ” Palestine , the country, goes back through most of recorded history,” I expect you to be able to answer a few basic questions about that country of Palestine :

When was it founded and by whom?
    What were its borders?
    What was its capital?
    What were its major cities?
What constituted the basis of its economy?
What was its form of government?
Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?
Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation?
What was the language of the country of Palestine ?
What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine ?
What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history and tell what was the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary unit against the US dollar, German mark, GB pound, Japanese yen, or Chinese yuan on that date.
And, finally, since there is no such country today, what caused its demise and when did it occur?

You are lamenting the “low sinking” of a “once proud” nation. Please tell me, when exactly was that “nation” proud and what was it so proud of?

And here is the least sarcastic question of all: If the people you mistakenly call “Palestinians” are anything but generic Arabs collected from all over — or thrown out of — the Arab world, if they really have a genuine ethnic identity that gives them right for self-determination, why did they never try to become independent until Arabs suffered their devastating defeat in the Six Day War?

I’ve read, but have no sources for it, that there was an influx of Arabs into Israel just after its founding from Egypt and other Dar al-Islam countries. Seemed like they believed in the “smart industrious Jew” notion and went there to benefit from the anticipated economic boom. The boom did happen, and is still underway, and the “Palestinians” living in Israel are the most prosperous and freest of Moslems, excepting of course the elites in oil rich Moslem nations.

If you look at the list of Nobel Science Prize winners you see a lot of Jewish names. But perhaps the best Jew invention ever was the drip irrigation technique, which set the worthless Holy Land desert abloom with crops. Like Japan, Israel has no oil or rich ore deposits, and it doesn’t even have the trees that Japan has. Gee, I wonder why Israel and Japan are so prosperous, what could it be?

        Alarmed,

Years (like 7 or 8) ago, THE FINANCIAL TIMES (only newspaper that I know of that is printed on PINK PAPER) had an article, more of an opinion piece, that discussed the Middle East.

The author’s basic view–ISRAEL WAS BLESSED BY NOT HAVING OIL, THE MUSLIMS CURSED WITH THE OIL. THE REASON- WITH THE OIL WEALTH, (BEING CONCENTRATED) THERE WAS NO NED OR WANT TO EDUCATE THE MASSES–SORT OF KEEP THEM IGNORANT, BAREFOOT AND PREGNANT MENTALITY. ISRAEL, ON THE OTHER HAND, WITH NO IL, HAD TO EDUCATE ITS PEOPLE ( besides, for hundreds of years, Jews always pushed education-for both sexes-and encouraged their best and brightest to marry others from the best and brightest, and have many children) in order to survive. The result–Israel has one of the best educated populations in the world; Muslim states the least educated. Japan-similar–education is pushed

          May 14, 2015 at 1:36 pm

Oliver, if Israel had had oil wealth, I think they would have treated it as just one more resource, as the US, Canada, the UK and other civilized countries have. Even more troubled places such as Russia and Mexico haven’t let oil completely skew their societies.

I think it’s more that Muslim countries with oil wealth—especially those with immense oil wealth—haven’t felt the need to develop *any* other resources, including their human populations. And that’s because Muslims have no tradition of innovation—in fact, Bi’da is considered Haram. Without oil wealth, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States would simply collapse.

But you are quite right—that fact that Israel is so wealthy and has such a high standard of living *without* oil is notable. In fact, she has created a productive, innovative, well-educated and intensely creative society. I have the greatest admiration for them.

          Me too.

I’ve often wondered what lies behind the left’s hatred of Israel, apart from anti-Semitism; maybe it’s exactly that – they made the desert bloom, whilst mohammedan countries, as you point out, have created nothing, despite oil wealth. Since islam appears to be the left’s pet pit bull, Israel makes it look pretty pathetic. Hence, in part, the virulent hatred.

But that doesn’t explain this ghastly Pope’s decision, or the animosity toward Israel prevalent in so many Western governments, whilst paying lip service to Israel as an ally.

          I’ll never understand it.

          …………………………………….

Mirren, I believe it’s because Israel is the “model minority” of countries. She started out poor and struggling, but did not stay that way for very long.

I’ve run into this attitude myself. I grew up dirt poor by Western standards, and not everyone I ran into was comfortable with my determination to make something of myself.

Then later I had a wonderful adult literacy student originally from Mexico—Maria—with a lot of drive, and a couple of the directors actually took me aside at one point, concerned that I was passing on “bourgeois values’ to her because she was doing so well, especially in terms of her wanting to make lots of money. I’ve always been fairly low-key myself when it comes to money, so this was just ridiculous.

I had to reassure them that her whole family was intent on getting good jobs, and pooling their money to buy property and develop businesses, no matter how small at first. This was true from their first arrival here, when Maria’s mom had a low-level but thriving (though unlicensed) business selling hand-made tamales from a cart that she would take around to neighborhood bars on Friday and Saturday nights.

I hate to say it, but many hard-leftists like their “down-trodden” people to stay dependent and incompetent—and if they don’t, they are very suspicious of them. You should see the opprobrium heaped on minority Republicans, especially those from humble backgrounds, for not toeing the politically correct “party line”.

I know the attitude on the left is very much the same in the UK and the rest of the West.

Figures like Obama get a pass because even though they themselves rose, they mouth the same rhetoric that it is virtually impossible for others to do so.

That doesn’t mean I’m not for helping people—I appreciate help I received, and I pass it on. But that is a different matter—as the saying goes, a hand up is not the same as a hand out.

Many hard-leftists like their underprivileged people not just dependent but also as dysfunctional as possible, with plus points if they are violently dysfunctional. And what group could *possibly* fit that model better than most Muslims, both at the level of individuals and of nations?

True, GI. Look no further than what happened recently with Sarah Silverman. She complained about the gender wage-gap (according to celebritynetworth.com she’s worth 10 million dollars) and gave the example of when she was starting her career she go paid 10 dollars for a 15-minute performance while a male comedian also performing for 15-minutes in the same club was paid 60 dollars. See, that story is the difference between being one of the 1% who are taking more than their fair share and exploiting the remaining 99%, and one of the oppressed majority who have to face brutal injustices on a daily basis.

The thing about Sarah Silverman’s story is that it is absolute bogus. She lied. And rather than making it as fuzzy and vague as possible she mentioned dates and names – she named the other comedian and the owner of the club. And the owner of the club, Al Martin, replied with:

“Are you kidding? You come in to my club 15 years ago and ask me for a guest spot, I did not ask you to perform and you were not booked, and Then you ask me for pay ? You asked to work out some material ..Then you make this a gender pay thing ? Sarah great cause I am with it, but I did not pay you less cause of gender …..I paid you less because Todd Barry was booked and you weren’t…It was a GUEST SPOT, so I gave you some car fare, which actually is more than almost any club would have given for a GUEST Spot…Funny how in your attempt to become a super hero with a noble cause, you forgot that little fact…GUEST SPOT ….GUEST SPOT.”

Now, to her… credit? (I guess, but it’s not like she had other choices), Sarah Silverman admitted the story she told was false. No one gave two craps, business as usual – never mind that she unfairly portrayed the person who gave her a break when she was struggling to start as being sexist and willing to pay women significantly less for the same work. And she had the gall to say “To the maniacs who want to use this as a chit against women’s issues, I ask that you please don’t. Because that would be super s****y”.

Not radical Islam, not extreme Islam, but Islam as written in the Quran and Sunnah.

In the west, we need to try to put our differences aside and unite against Islam. Like a family that will squabble amongst themselves but if a non family member says or does anything against that family, they stop, squabbling and unite against a common enemy.

I am going to email the pope and tell him how I feel, Will you?
You have nothing to loose but a few moments of time, and if thousands or millions of people flood the Vatican with letters and emails, the pope will have to take notice at least. Appeasement and bridge-building sound cool, and I’m sure they work fine in theory, but remember what Sayyid Qutb had to say about bridge-building: the bridge is not meant to have people on both sides coming, and going, and mingling, but to let non-muslims cross over to islam. Pretending that this mindset is nonexistent won’t shield anyone from the consequences resulting from pretending that this mindset is nonexistent.

    Per the Blaze:

The treaty, which concerns the activities of the Catholic Church in Palestinian territory, makes clear that the Holy See has switched its diplomatic recognition from the Palestine Liberation Organization to the state of Palestine.

The Vatican had welcomed the decision by the U.N. General Assembly in 2012 to recognize a Palestinian state. But the treaty is the first legal document negotiated between the Holy See and the Palestinian state and constitutes official diplomatic recognition.

“Yes, it’s a recognition that the state exists,” said the Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi.

The Israeli foreign ministry said it was “disappointed” by the development.

“This move does not promote the peace process and distances the Palestinian leadership from returning to direct and bilateral negotiations,” the ministry said in a text message. “Israel will study the agreement and will consider its steps accordingly.”

The treaty was finalized days before Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas visits Pope Francis at the Vatican. Abbas is heading to Rome to attend Francis’ canonization Sunday of two new saints from the Holy Land.

The Vatican has been referring unofficially to the state of Palestine for at least a year.

During Pope Francis’ 2014 visit to the Holy Land, the Vatican’s official program referred to Abbas as the president of the “state of Palestine.” In the Vatican’s latest yearbook, the Palestinian ambassador to the Holy See is listed as representing “Palestine (state of).”

The Vatican’s foreign minister, Monsignor Antoine Camilleri, acknowledged the change in status, given that the treaty was initially inked with the PLO and is now being finalized with the “state of Palestine.” But he said the shift was simply in line with the Holy See’s position.

This isn’t the first time that the Vatican under Francis has taken diplomatic moves knowing that it would ruffle feathers: Just last month, Francis referred to the slaughter of Armenians by Turkish Ottomans a century ago as a “genocide,” prompting Turkey to recall its ambassador.

I just went, Mirren, to Barhhardt’s comment on the present Pope whom, amusingly, she calls Narcissus I. Yeah, her comment is a bit over the top but sometimes hyperbole is necessary to wake people up. Besides, in the main, what she averred is the case.

No doubt about it, the last half century has been a gigantic exercise by the West to replace absolutes with relativistic thinking. Socrates had to deal with the Sophists who did this and such an endeavor, on a grand scale, is necessary again because either absolutes exist or we at least have to pretend they do. I’m not religious but I agree with a fellow skeptic of yore, Voltaire, who said that if God doesn’t exist, we’ll have to invent Him. Of course, the warped conception of a cosmic, monotheistic deity proffered by Islam is definitely not the kind of deity “handing out” absolutes that is needed. Thanks again for mentioning Barnhardt to me.

What crap. Robert Spencer is a principled man of conviction. If you disagree with him, say so—but pretending that the only people concerned over the enabling of the destruction of Israel and her people, even if unintended, are “zionists (sic) bosses” is grotesque.

      More:

The Inquisition is a “blot on the RCC record” due the lies and exaggerations created during the protestant deformation.
      ………………………………….

The reach and scope of the Inquisition has sometimes been exaggerated, but the torture and murder of people on the basis of conscience should not be defended by any civilized people.

      ………………………………….

One can argue that the Vatican itself could not have done more during the Holocaust—that any stronger statements or actions from the pope would have been counterproductive (one can also argue that they did not do enough). But that is not what Robert Spencer said—he noted that there were Catholic clergy who were collaborators. That cannot be disputed. Nor is it somehow anti-Catholic to say so—it is a simple fact of history. There were also brave priests, monks, and nuns, who risked—and sometimes lost—their lives saving the victims of Fascism.

      More:

I don’t like Pope Francis style, I think he is too naive in many issues, like islam, but articles like this create more confusion among the faithful.
      ………………………………….

Why would it be Robert Spencer’s job to prevent “confusion among the faithful”? Besides, this is ridiculous—adult Catholics are not small children, nor are they all developmentally disabled. they are as intelligent and rational as anyone else. It is, in fact, insulting that you would not consider them to be.

Robert Spencer has praised Pope Francis when he has considered it warranted, and criticized him—as here—when he has considered his words or actions foolish or harmful. That is the way everyone should be treated. Catholics—my in-laws are Catholic—are smart enough to decide for themselves.

The Catholic Church is right in line with the rest of Europe. How is that? Ever since Roman times, Jews were unpopular because they refused to worship the Roman gods (as were the Egyptians), and were even more so when they rebelled against Roman rule. Anti-Jewish animosity is reflected in the Christian Bible, which inverts the roles of Jews and Romans, depicting the Romans as protectors of the Jews who followed Jesus, and demonizing Jews as murderers, liars and the children of Satan (see John 8:44). This narrative is historically preposterous since a million Jews dies fighting Rome and thousands were crucified as rebels. The Christian Bible was probably written by Romans, not Jews, given its hostile tenor. In any case, the long tradition of Roman anti-Jewish animus was carried forward.
In 1965, the Vatican issued Nostra Aetate to reconcile Christianity with Judaism and distance itself from anti-Judaism. This greatly improved Christian-Jewish relations. If, in the name of “peace”, the Vatican leads an already hostile Europe against Israel, then its constructive work will be undone and we will slip back into the bad old days of mistrust.

The pope, like many other people, watched the first part of “Lake Placid” and saw the old woman feeding the crocs…they got her husband, she fed them her cattle and allowed them to eat as her guests…
Trouble is, the pope and the others didn’t watch “Lake Placid II and III”.
He’s feeding the crocs, hoping he will escape being eaten.
Israel is surrounded by evil beasts and these beasts are supported by those who are willfully blind to all that is good and right.

The Catholic clerics at the Vatican should stop being afraid of gelling the jihad mind militant Muslims mad at them and start to study the teachings of the Bible. For they should fear of upsetting the God of the Bible .and not fear upsetting the followers of Islam For the God of the Bible had declared all of that land in that area in the Middle East, including all of the West Bank to the Jewish people. As may be sen in ,for example, Genesis 28:13-15. 35:10-12. Deuteronomy 32:48,49 Psalm 105:7-1. 135:4. The Bible further teaches that all this land also belongs to the Jewish people by historic rights. As shown in First Kings 4:20,21,24,25,. 8:55,56. So the Vatican should not fear what those ” Palestinian” will do if “they don’t get their way” Of course the are many sites owned the the Roman Catholic Church in Israel. So quite naturally the Vatican does not want to have her church’s and other church sites bombed by angry Muslims. Nevertheless, the Bible teaches that the “Palestinians” have not right to
any of that land and the it really belongs to the Jewish people.

Since he doesn’t have his own standing Army, he should be traveling the World encouraging political and military leaders to fight a final and decisive Crusade against Satan’s Islam.

No time for kissing babies right now. The future of the Free World is at stake.

It’s as if Satan has cast a spell on the two most important leaders in the World: Obama, to restrain American military power and allow Iran to amass a nuke arsenal and the Muslims to exterminate Christians World wide. And the Pope, to mislead Christians in the World that we have nothing to fear, and no reason to prepare.

      • Jerry says

        May 14, 2015 at 10:36 am

In the Jihadi context the first relevant occupation was the unprovoked treacherous attack by Mohamed and his criminal band upon the Jews of the Khaybar, an oasis near Mecca and Medinah, the massacre of all males except for toddlers and the taking of all females and all male toddlers as sex slaves.

The Khaybar was attacked in a blatant breach by Mohammed of a non-aggression pact he had with the Jews of the Khaybar.

Sirat Rasoulallah, the Islamic writing chronicling the massacre hardly has any mention of “Allah” in the context but there are many references to “treasure” the property of the Jews plundered by Mohammed and his criminal gang.

The Islamists pretend that the story shows how magnanimous was Mohammad because he took one of the captives, a young and beautiful lady named Saffiyah as one of this wives, but not before he tortured to death her husband and her two brothers.

Doing so, the shining example of “Human Decency” (more correctly Satanic Evil) broke his own laws and prohibitions upon marrying such a captive and consummating the marriage, which normally required three months wait, but in his own case he made an exception for himself and did it within three days.

The Khaybar is, of course, still under Islamic occupation.

These are quite small and mostly came to being around the time of vatican 2). However, within the Catholic Church, there are different rites with the roman (Latin pre-Vatican 2 but now in the vernacular) rite being the most numerous. There are also various other eastern catholic rites such as Greek (Melkite), Russian, Ukrainian, Coptic (Egyptian catholic), Syro-Malabar (Indian), Maronite and others.

    Prophecy of St Malachy

This excerpt copied from the 2nd paragraph of an article published in 2007; about 7 years before Pope Francis’ (from the Jesuit order mind you) papacy: http://www.catholic-pages.com/grabbag/malachy.asp

“The prevailing view today is that they are elaborate forgeries, probably perpetrated by a school of Jesuits in the 1600s. This is based on the clear relation of the mottos to the various popes until that period, and the need to find oblique references (such as the motto of the Pope’s home diocese) to make the particular motto fit the particular pope. The inclusion of anti-popes would also appear to militate against the authenticity of the prophecies.”

militate: of facts, actions, etc. to have influence or effect.

“The prevailing view today is that they are elaborate forgeries, probably perpetrated by a school of Jesuits in the 1600s”…..interestingly about 200 years before Islam’s founding 1400 years ago.

Is there any evidence that the present day Jesuit Order had influenced the papal conclave to elect Pope Francis?

There is a lot of alarmist nonsense seasoned in some cases with adamant hatred for Catholicism in the comments here. I am a practicing Catholic who fully accepts the Church’s teachings for the simple reason that they are the teachings of Jesus. Period. I also disagree with the foreign policy of the Vatican state, something entirely different from the Church’s teachings.

A little knowledge of history is helpful here. In the 19th century, Popes made many bad policy decisions concerning the Papal States and their relationship with the then new Italian government. Later Pius XI made unwise decisions concerning the Mussolini government. And previous to modern times, with few exceptions, popes were never famous for their crafty diplomatic skills, frequently making questionable alliances or signing treaties that would come back to haunt them. But keep in mind that the temporal duties of the pope are something quite apart from his spiritual duties. Only confused Catholics (and equally confused non-Catholics) take them to be the same thing. Like Pope Francis, I am a faithful son of the Church and therefore I know I can remain loyal to Catholicism and yet disagree totally with his political policies, just as I can disagree with his choice of vegetables to put on a pizza. Those who suggest otherwise — many, for instance, who post above here — are simply ignorant and short-sighted.

Some popes are sharper and wiser than others. For example, Benedict XVI saw Mohammedanism for what it is, a dangerous religion that is now wholly underpinned by irrationality. He said so publicly at Regensburg and the reaction of the worldwide Islamic mob immediately authenticated his observation. Other popes, though, have demonstrated no acumen at all for politics. They blunder about leaving chaos in their diplomatic wake. Clearly Francis is among the latter.

Jack, there have been a few anti-Catholic comments, but *very few* people here at Jihad Watch are anti-Catholic, including the site’s founder, Robert Spencer.

And you are right that popes have a very mixed history of policy decisions.

Pope Francis himself has done some very good things, such as acknowledging the Armenian Genocide.

Te concern of most people here is that the pope’s recognition of a “Palestinian state” will just add pressure to Israel being pushed to accept another violent Jihad state right on her border, and one that will be able to directly attack her main airport and main cities.

Though it obviously is not Pope Francis’s intent, this could lead to unimaginable death and suffering for the Israeli people, and even her outright destruction.

As you say, there is and never was any “Palestine,” end of story. To keep on repeating its name, even for the sake of clarity or ease of reference, allows it and its “cause” to gain momentum, strength and credence. Words are powerful, as the Muslim leaders who created their very successful propaganda spin know. “If you tell a big enough lie….” I think it might be a good idea to get the fact that it is a lie across to the brainwashed by refusing to use the Arab applied label, as it relates to this issue, and to then explain the reasons why and to be consistent about it. I feel this would be a crucial first step in dissolving the fantasy and lie that is “Palestine.” Maybe we could reference it as “Fakestine.”

To Justin- Thank you for giving me a very detailed and insightful reply about how the USA throws big money at Muslim countries which enables those countries to do what they do: kill and torture Christians, Yazidis, Muslims who are not pious. It is just disgusting, vicious and evil. Because I believe in citizen action, I go to rallies, I make phone calls, I write letters, I send emails. Very few politicians bother to respond to the issue I bring up. And when they do respond, they write about an unrelated issue! So what is left for concerned and law abiding citizens to do, who question their representatives and president’s motivations in sending obscene amounts of money to Muslim countries to wage jihad and kill, kill, kill? Peace be with you, Justin.

          You’re welcome.

A few months ago, a Pakistani Muslim ( a believe a reporter or newspaper editorial writer-anyhow, a well versed individual) wrote an essay, basically why Muslims are backwards.

He compared the number of SCHOOLS OF HIGHER EDUCATION (IE. COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES) IN MUSLIM RULED COUNTRIES AND THOSE NOT. INCLUDING ISRAEL, DIVIDED BY THE POPULATIONS.

I forgot the numbers, but something like 1/20th or so schools in Muslim nations as compared to the rest of the world. He also added 9or threw in) number of students in sciences, medicine, etc as a % of the population-again- very few in Muslim countries.

It took guts to write that.

I forwarded to a friend in Israel, he relied, while Muslims have a guaranteed number of spaces in the colleges there, few really take advantage of the education offered. Those that do- usually reject violence and are pro-Israel.

(He also said, and he lives in one of the so-called settlements) that the Arabs prefer to work for jews- they know that they will get paid. If they work for their fellow Arabs–iffy.
