Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

After Pamela Geller is Silenced, Who’s Next?

Jun 11, 2015 6:18 pm By Robert Spencer

GellerCamerota74Why, you are. You. Don’t you realize that?

“After Pamela Geller is Silenced, Who’s Next?,” by Dexter Van Zile, Algemeiner, June 11, 2015:

…The next day, two Muslim jihadists were killed in Garland, Texas, as they tried to murder attendees at a “Draw Mohammad” cartoon contest organized by Pamela Geller, a well-known anti-jihad activist.

In the days and weeks after the attack, a number of commentators argued that Geller was somehow culpable for the attack. A prominent Arab-American journalist stated that Geller, who has been the target of death threats for years, was “worse than ISIS.”

To its everlasting shame, the New York Times directed more of its ire at Geller than the people who wanted her dead. People condemned Geller – not her would-be murderers – for failing to exercise restraint. The underlying message was that Geller was too vulgar to participate in public life in America.

The very segment of the body politic that was pointing the finger of blame at Geller had either remained silent or had watched in glee as Christian and Jewish sensibilities had been offended on a regular basis over the past few decades.

When confronted with this double standard, the people who condemned Geller responded with lame assertions that they found attacks on Christian and Jewish sensibilities to be rude and contrary to the ethic of civil society.

But the fact remains that they waited until two Muslim gunmen died in an attempt to kill dozens of people in Garland, Texas, before expressing their concerns over anti-Christian and anti-Jewish polemics. If they found these provocations so rude and offensive, why hadn’t they said so before?

The criticism against Geller was not rooted in principle, but in fear.

The fear is justified. Commentators and artists who offend Catholic sensibilities might get a letter from the Catholic League. Offend Jews and you get a letter from the ADL or the local Board of Rabbis.

Offend Muslim sensibilities and you might get shot. Just ask Theo Van Gogh and the staffers at Charlie Hebdo magazine in France. If you’re lucky, you won’t be killed but merely driven underground like Salman Rushdie or Molly Norris, a cartoonist who is still in hiding for years after organizing an “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” in Seattle a few years back.

In the days after the botched jihadist attack in Garland, Texas, I thought back to the young man on the subway in New York City who told me, “I’ll see you later.”

I had been seeing young men like him for years.

The first time was outside the Israel Consulate in Boston in late 2008. I was part of a group of pro-Israel activists who had come to stand across the street from a crowd of “pro-Palestinian” (read anti-Israel) activists who had gathered to protest Israel’s attacks on Hamas, which had launched rockets into Israel. During the first part of the rally, the anti-Israel crowd was made up of mostly far-left peace activists from nearby Cambridge and Somerville.

The Israeli Consulate had become a regular gathering point for them in recent years, serving as a symbol of everything they rebelled against – the nation state, the military, the use of force in the international system, and the right of national self-defense. They were loud, but not frightening. They weren’t trying to intimidate anyone, but merely draw attention to themselves.

Then a dozen or so young men showed up all wearing a similar uniform of dark clothes and leather boots. They took up a position at the front of the rally and started chanting “Down Down Israel!” There were at most 20 of these young men, but they generated as much noise and energy as the rest of the crowd put together. They moved in unison, chanted in unison and projected an aura of hate, hostility, and a threat of violence.

I observed more protesters like this at rallies during yet another confrontation between Israel and Hamas, this time in 2014. Early on in the summer, the protests were mostly attended by college students and hippy leftists. But as the summer progressed, a growing number of women in hijabs and men in keffiyehs started to show up at the rallies, which were organized and publicized in part by the local school bus driver’s union and the Boston chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace.

At all of the rallies, people chanted “Intifada, Intifada, Long Live the Intifada!” There have been two intifadas in Israel and the disputed territories; both were marked by shocking acts of violence. Calling for an intifada in a city that one year previously had endured the Marathon Bombing perpetrated by two jihadists from overseas seemed bad form, to say the least.

The culmination came on July 25, when protesters gathered to demonize Israel in honor of Al Quds Day, a worldwide celebration of anti-Israel and anti-Western hate organized by Iran. People here carried signs that equated Zionism with Nazism.

By carrying signs like this and chanting for an intifada, the people who participated in this rally declared themselves enemies of the very civilization that allowed them to gather and protest.

Local media outlets portrayed the protests as “peace” rallies when in fact, they were part of a propaganda war designed to promote hate and hostility toward Israel and its supporters, Jews especially, in the U.S.

I took pictures of the protesters and their signs to document what local newspapers and television stations would not cover – a reservoir of anti-Americanism, anti-Zionism, and naked anti-Semitism in Boston, the cradle of freedom.

Fortunately, pro-Israel activists showed up to counter the anti-Israel rallies. Most of the time, they were outnumbered. At one rally, the crowd of anti-Israel zealots physically surrounded and shouted at the smaller crowd of pro-Israel activists that had shown up to counter them. (It was at this rally that pro-Israel activist Chloe Valdary was assaulted.)

The radicals who hate on Israel in America’s public square are motivated by an anti-democratic agenda. Israel is not the only democracy they seek to harm.

What is most troubling is that a number of people who should know better seem intent on making it easier for jihadists to destroy our public square with their threats and intimidation.

One way they do this is to point the finger of condemnation at Pamela Geller and not at those who are intent on murdering her.

In the headline to a Reuters article about the planned attack, Business Insider described Geller as the “Head of anti-Muslim hate group.” Whoever wrote this headline is legitimizing jihadist hate and violence against Geller by portraying Geller, and not those who would kill her, as the problem.

It didn’t start with Pamela Geller and it won’t end with her.

Now it’s Pamela Geller’s turn.

See if any liberal can answer the following….

    Palestine
1- When was Palestine founded and by whom?
    2- What were its borders?
    3- What was its capital?
4- What were its major cities?
5- What constituted the basis of its economy?
6- What was its form of government?
7- Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?
8- Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation?
9- What was the language of the country of Palestine ?
10- What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine ?
11- What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history and tell what was the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary unit against the US dollar, German mark, GB pound, Japanese yen, or Chinese yuan on that date

Arab Opinions about the Demographic Unity of ‘Palestine’ and Jordan
”Palestine and Transjordan are one, for Palestine is the coastline and Transjordan the hinterland of the same country.” – King Abdullah, at the Meeting of the Arab League, Cairo, 12 April, 1948

”We are the Government of Palestine, the army of Palestine and the refugees of Palestine.” – Prime Minister of Jordan, 23 August, 1959
”Palestine is Jordan and Jordan is Palestine; there is one people and one land, with one history and one and the same fate.” – Prince Hassan, brother of King Hussein, addressing the Jordanian National Assembly, 2 February, 1970
”There is no family on the East Bank of the [Jordan] River that does not have relatives on the West Bank … no family in the west that does not have branches in the east.” – King Hussein, addressing the Jordanian National Assembly, 2 February, 1972

”We consider it necessary to clarify to one and all, in the Arab world and outside, that the Palestinian people with its nobility and conscience is to be found here on the East Bank [of the Jordan River], the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. Its overwhelming majority is here [on the East Bank] and nowhere else.” – King Hussein, quoted in An-Nahar, Beirut, 24 August, 1972

”The Palestinians here constitute not less than one half of the members of the armed forces. They and their brothers, the sons of Transjordan, constitute the members of one family who are equal in everything, in rights and duties.” – King Hussein, on Amman Radio, 3 February, 1973 (quoted by BBC Monitoring Service)

”The new Jordan, which emerged in 1949, was the creation of the Palestinians of the West Bank and their brothers in the East. While Israel was the negation of the Palestinian right of self-determination, unified Jordan was the expression of it.” – Sharif Al-Hamid Sharaf, Representative of Jordan at the UN Security Council, 11 June, 1973

”[Former Tunisian] President Bourguiba considers Jordan an artificial creation presented by Great Britain to King Abdullah. But he accepts Palestine and the Palestinians as an existing and primary fact since the days of the Pharaohs. Israel, too, he considers as a primary entity. However, Arab history makes no distinction between Jordanians, Syrians and Palestinians. Most of them hail from the same Arab race, which arrived in the region with the Arab Moslem conquest.” – Editorial Comment in the Jordanian Armed Forces’ weekly Al-Aqsa, Amman, 11 July, 1973

”The Palestinians and the Jordanians have created on this soil since 1948 one family — all of whose children have equal rights and obligations.” – King Hussein, addressing an American delegation, 19 February, 1975

 “For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”- PLO representative Zouhair Muhsen in 1977, speaking to a Dutch newspaper
 “There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity. … The existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel.” –Zouhair Muhsen, PLO rep
 “There is, in fact, almost nothing un-Palestinian about Jordan except for the royal family. Despite decades of official imposaition of a Bedouin image on the country, and even Bedouin accents on state television, the Palestinian identity is still the most dominant … to the point where the Jordanian capital, Amman, is the largest and most populated Palestinian city anywhere. Palestinians view it as a symbol of their economic success and ability to excel. Moreover, empowering a Palestinian statehood for Jordan has a well-founded and legally accepted grounding: The minute the minimum level of democracy is applied to Jordan, the Palestinian majority would, by right, take over the political momentum.” – Mudar Zahran, Palestinian-Jordanian

”Palestine and Jordan were both under British Mandate, but as my grandfather pointed out in his memoirs, they were hardly separate countries. Transjordan being to the east of the River Jordan, it formed in a sense, the interior of Palestine.” – King Hussein, in his memoirs

 “The Palestinians and Jordanians do not belong to different nationalities. They hold the same Jordanian passports, are Arabs and have the same Jordanian culture.” – Abdul Hamid Sharif, Prime Minister of Jordan in 1980.

”Jordan is not just another Arab state with regard to Palestine but, rather, Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan in terms of territory, national identity, sufferings, hopes and aspirations, both day and night. Though we are all Arabs and our point of departure is that we are all members of the same people, the Palestinian-Jordanian nation is one and unique, and different from those of the other Arab states.” – Marwan al Hamoud, member of the Jordanian National Consultative Council and former Minister of Agriculture, quoted by Al-Rai, Amman, 24 September, 1980

“The truth is that Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan.” – King Hussein of Jordan in 1981.

I have no idea what will happen if they get to Pam Geller – I certainly hope she’s not the only outspoken American advocate for FREE SPEECH – but I do know that they have me pegged.

Today someone posing as a Comcast rep. hacked my email account with Comcast, saying that if I failed to respond (by clicking) within 24 hours my account would be closed. Of course they made the usual illiteracy blunders which clearly identifies them as hackers. I suspect I’m on their hit list. They’ve tried this before and so far THE PEN IS STILL MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD – and always will be!!!!!

The journalist Sharyl Attkisson wrote the book: Stonewalled, regarding her experiences with the Media and more importantly this Obama Administration.

Her computer would turn on by itself in the wee hours of the night for no apparent reason. She had friends in high places, who confirmed that her computer was being hacked into.

I have ZERO DOUBT that this site has been monitored by those who would seek to limit free speech.

The muslim ‘agenda’ is here to stay. It’s not going away. Our freedoms will grow more and more limited.

We can thank Mr. Obama for that!

We don’t have any other choice. We live free, (Despite those who would seek to limit our freedoms), or we cower in fear of protecting those freedoms.

          One thing is for sure…

I will never “Submit” to a lie from the pit of hell: Islam

Give me liberty or give me death.

It never ceases to amaze me the tortured reasoning a person has to use to find yourself on the muslim side of middle east politics. The issue of freedom of speech is clear cut. Pamela Geller is a hero of mine.

You are absolutely right, Robert, when you stated, “The criticism against Geller was not rooted in principle, but in fear.” Like the Germans in the 30’s under the rising tide of fascist nazis, fear had everyone doing the “heil hitler” routine to stay alive. Seeing this same weak-willed reaction to islamic threats all over the West makes me physically ill. I still contend big bloodshed is coming and it will be worse as years of western capitulation to the islamic cancer are allowing the tumor to grow to a formidable size and metastasize virtually unrestrained.

The fact is everyone is afraid!!

What we are getting in these open threats is the Islamic world transferred – to the western world.

These types of threats are normal in the Islamic world – but because they share the religion of the person or groups who are making the threats – they are more likely to give in to these demands.

And that is what they are – these threats are Muslims asking you to do something in the name of Islamic law – as they believe – that is absolutely right.

    ::

Look at the Islamic world….Muslims know better…

There was a Pakistan politician – who aimed to modify that country’s blasphemy laws – and after being openly threatened by some of the country’s prominent Islamic figures [radical or not] – he was shot dead.

Now here is how it is supposed to be done in the Islamic world – another Pakistan example – was of a Pakistani tourism [not terrorism] minister – a rare example of a female in a top position – was on official business in Italy – took up an offer to go skydiving – on reaching the ground safely so glad she survived, she “hugged her instructor” [shock horror!]. This was viewed as immodest and unIslamic – and she was openly threatened. On this – she resigned her position.

So many examples, politicians in the Islamic world – advocating for reasonable change – are then threatened with death – by prominent religious figures or Islamic clerics – and they back off.

They don’t continue making the same point like Geert Wilders!

We can call it a form of ‘respect’!!

    ::

    DPRK

Around Islam – the atmosphere has become a little North Korea.

Publicly everybody loves and respects and has deep admiration for it!

North Korea is the only country on earth that beats the most respected Islamic nations – in putting people to death. [Not if you count IS ~ but it’s not a state]

There are similarities with N.Korea and Islam. It’s leader Lil’ Kim is willing to put his own relatives to death [he wanted an amusement park – they wanted to build up the country’s infrastructure – they lost].

Similarly if a female member of a Muslim family breaks with Islamic law/family code on marriage and whatnot – they will plot and kill her. Likewise if a person leaves Islam – he is attacked [in the Islamic world it is an arrestable offence many would opt to call the police, which means that the person is then arrested and rearrested, followed, and often tortured] and his life threatened – by people who used to be his friends.

That is the basis of a ruthless element in Islamic society.

    It generates fear.

And fear creates its own logic. The idea being that if we don’t offend it – then it will not attack us – and no one will have reason to kill us. Like the abused wife – if we were attacked/threatened by Muslims – then we brought it on ourselves.

Rather than ~ could there ever be a reason to drive 600-1000 miles to shoot up a place with lots of unarmed people in it.

    ::

And more on reality – since they have been spinning this fantasy Islam – it has not calmed down and gone away as hoped – on the extreme-o-meter – it has gone up a few notches – and even as everything people said Islam was – is now on display – rather than concede the point – the denials have become more far fetched.

Those ISIS guys need proper jobs!

Who knows they might have thought killing the infidel to be the job of a lifetime!

I have complete faith in America to do the right thing after everything including multiculturalism has failed. Eventually the media will have discredited itself in the eyes of the public and will clumsily attempt to catch up. Strangely, it is people like Rush and Hannity that understand while the NPR, which I have respected for many years, is off in PC delusion land.

For now there is some delusional hope that jihadist elements will remain, “over there”, and they will tire or finally be overcome by Western-trained nationals. Truly delusional. Fighting is the Jihadist’s purpose in an expectedly short life, while the nationals work for a paycheck; hoping never to fight or die.

It will probably be homegrown terrorists that will create the havoc that awakens Americans to the truth of what Ms. Geller and Mr. Spencer have tried, at the peril of their own lives, to tell Americans and their hedonistic “leaders”. To every thing there is a season, a time to be a politician and a time to lead. We now have full-time politicians. Even the MSM are now politicians.

Prophets tend to be discredited until the prophecies arrive. How terrible that day will be.

A prominent Arab-American journalist stated that Geller, who has been the target of death threats for years, was “worse than ISIS.”

The Muslim journalist (he is NOT American, never was and never will be) reveals what all devout Muslim immigrants in our Western nations believe — that drawing cartoons of Mohammed is unacceptable.

And that the satanic atrocities, beheadings, crucifixions, barbaric murders, kidnappings, and the capture of thousands of Yazidi and Christian women and girls for sex slaves who are gang raped and tortured is ACCEPTABLE because it’s taught in the Quran and it’s what Islam’s founder did.

Thanks to our traitor leader God-haters who colonised our tiny nations of Britain and Europe with over 50 million hostile Muslims, we face, just years from now, unless drastic changes take place, all of the horrors perpetrated by ISIS in Syria and Iraq, being carried out daily by Muslims in Britain and Europe.

Polls reveal that ISIS barbaric savages are regarded as big heroes by a huge percentage of Muslims in Europe and Britain.

Please God, help us in the years to come. Thank You for Your Biblical promise to Never leave us or forsake us.

Thank You God, that in the end, You will give us great victory over Your enemies.
Promised in the Bible! To God be the Glory, forever and ever.

Psalm 20 Some boast in chariots and some in horses, but we will boast in the Name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen but we have risen and stood upright. Save, O Lord, may the King answer us in the day we call.
