This Providence Journal report doesn’t say so, but the jihadis’ beheading target was Pamela Geller. “Court complaint: 2 Mass. terror suspects met on R.I. beach to plot beheading,” by Amanda Milkovits, Providence Journal, June 3, 2015:
WARWICK, R.I. — Two Massachusetts men under surveillance by terrorism investigators met with an unidentified third person on a Rhode Island beach in Sunday’s rain to discuss a plot to behead people in another state, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court Wednesday.
The plan that Usaamah Abdullah Rahim and David Wright shared with the third person changed early Tuesday morning, when Rahim told Wright that he wanted to go after the “boys in blue” in Massachusetts — which he called the “easiest target,” according to a recording of their phone conversation, the federal complaint said.
Hours later, Boston police and FBI agents shot and killed Rahim after he lunged at them with a knife. They told him to drop his weapon; he responded, “You drop yours,” and came toward the officers, according to court documents.
That same day, Wright was arrested at his home in Everett, and the FBI and Rhode Island State Police began searching the home of a young man with cerebral palsy who lives with his mother and younger brother in Warwick’s leafy Governor Francis Farms neighborhood.
Rahim was identified as a 26-year-old security officer from Boston’s Roslindale neighborhood, who bought three knives and a sharpener with plans to behead somebody, according to the court complaint against Wright written by a FBI special agent in Boston’s joint terrorism task force.
One knife had an 8-inch blade; another’s blade was 9.75 inches, and Rahim told Wright it was “a nice little tool … good for carving.”
Wright is charged with conspiring to obstruct an investigation by telling Rahim to get rid of his cellphone and computer after the attacks so they couldn’t be viewed by the police. Wright was arraigned at federal court in Boston and held.
The role of the third person is vague. The court documents didn’t identify the Rhode Island beach or the third person whom Rahim and Wright were meeting, just that Wright said “they had a lot to talk about.”…
