Canonization in the Roman Catholic Church has already become a charade, with recently deceased popes whose records are likely to be viewed by history quite differently from how they are now rushed to sainthood the way Roman Emperors used to be deified right after their deaths (no matter what rogues they had been in life), but this is even worse: it’s a validation of anti-Semitism, and indirectly of the jihad against Israel, at a time when the Pope should be declaring his solidarity with Israel as the nation bearing the brunt of the jihad that has devastated Christian communities across the Middle East.
The Catholic Church formally rejected anti-Semitism in all its forms at the Second Vatican Council. Why is it going in the other direction now?
No doubt Francis believes that to speak frankly about the jihad against Christians and Jews would be to harm the “dialogue.”
The Catholic Church hierarchy is following a disastrous and ultimately un-Christian line of weakness, willful blindness and submission in the face of evil; many Christians will die as a result.
“Pope Francis said to back sainthood for anti-Semitic priest,” Jerusalem Post, June 5, 2015 (thanks to David):
Leon Dehon, whose beatification was delayed in 2005 following the death of Pope John Paul II, founded the Priests of the Sacred Heart order.
Pope Francis on Friday went on record as supporting the candidacy for sainthood of a French priest who is alleged to have espoused anti-Semitic views, the AFP news agency reported.
Leon Dehon, whose beatification was delayed in 2005 following the death of Pope John Paul II, founded the Priests of the Sacred Heart order.
According to AFP, although he had been declared venerable by John Paul II, his path to sainthood hit a snag when Pope Benedict XVI ordered a commission to probe Dehon’s alleged anti-Semitism.
Despite questions about Dehon’s past, Pope Francis on Friday was quoted by media outlets as saying that he wished for the beatification process to “end well” and that the late priest should be judged within the context of the times in which he lived.
Dehon is reported to have called the Talmud a “manual of the bandit, corruptor, social destroyer” and anti-Semitism as a “sign of hope.”
He also believed that Jews were “thirsty for gold” and that “lust for money is a racial instinct in them.”

Yes cs – but it’s no joke. I guess we’re not supposed to notice that he’s somewhere out in left field with our President, the Castro bros. Hillary and the rest of the democratic party. The Catholic church is dead in Europe and on life support here as well – it’s future dim as it is lies in the undeveloped third world which is virtually all far left. which explains why they are so poor among their other unsolvable problems. This pope despises capitalism as much as Obama and is equally disinterested in confronting Islam so he was the perfect choice to lead this moribund religion.

The Talmud is the book of the rabbinical interpretation of the Torah or old testament. It is forbidden for Jews to translate the Talmud so that Gentiles could understand it. The interpretation given by the rabbis
is that of a racist morality, that means that Jews are not required to practice principals of morality when
dealing with non-believers or Gentiles. The 1st Jew to translate the Talmud was a Spaniard who became
a Benedictine monk. It led to the Spanish inquisition. However, I have seen a stone monument in a reform
Jewish synagogue commemorating the Talmud with the date 200 AD. In the New Testament they are referred to as the “Oral Teachings” The question therefore is where is the Reform if Reform Jews are
still practicing the Talmud? Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” to follow the Talmud represents the abandonment of Christianity, and civilization. To become a modern civilized country Israel must abolish the Talmud and all Talmudic Judaism.
wildjew says
I doubt Reform Judaism or liberal Jews embrace the Talmud. Many liberal Jews reject the idea that God gave the Torah to Moses at Sinai or during the exodus from Egypy.
I bought the complete set of the Talmud for reference many years back; Soncino English translation. Today, you can Google any book in the Talmud. I have come across some troubling things in the Talmud over the years though I have not done an exhaustive study. For example the Rabbis said something to the effect, if you think King David sinned in the matter of Bathsheba and Uriah, you are merely in error. The Bible says unequivocally David sinned and that God was very displeased.
Moses told the Israelites not to add to or take away from the commandments he gave them. (Deu 4:2) To me that is what the Talmud does. It adds to the written Torah which was complete when Moses wrote it. Moses said the commandments were not too difficult, “nor is it out of reach.” I agree.
cs says
I read from Berachot up to Pessachim, not really troubling. Also I read several mishnah treatises, also not really troubling, apart with the relationship with the “Cuteans”, probably Samaritans. I did not agree on their treatment, but did not know the whole story.

This pope is just another fraud to be at the top of the world. Another coward in the face of the Muslim attack on the West, nominated by other cowards.
jihad me at hello says
Christianity arose from a schism within the Jewish community of the first century. It could hardly be stolen since the first Christians were Jews who attended Synagogue and practiced Jewish customs.
It was noted by people within the early Church including as late as St Jerome during his journeys that Jewish, synagogue attending communities who followed the teachings of Jesus Christ existed in his era (Sadly they were treated with suspicion by both Gentiles and Jews). In fact the decendents of those Christian Jews, who still speak Aramaic (the Hebrew dialect Jesus spoke) to this day live in some areas of eastern Syria. They are Orthodox Christians.(maybe, depending on what IS has done there)

wildjew reveals the TRUTH in his list of commandments totally refuting your deliberately misleading statements
It is revealing that while Christians & Muslims do their utmost to convert others to their beliefs, Jews have not done this for the last 2500 at least
This is NOT because of racism or arrogance BUT because they belong to a private club and if one wants to join it one must pay its dues which require intensive studies of Hebrew and the Law for 3-5 years!
To convert to either Christianity or Islam requires a minimal effort. Just confessing that Jesus is God and getting baptised one becomes a Christian or reciting three times that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah completes the conversions
It is on Pope Francis watch that the worst acts of death, destruction and terror perpetrated by Muslims against Christians are occuring while he repeats his mantras that he has not found any aggressive verses in Muhammad’s Quran, that Islam is an Abrahamic religion, that we should embrace Muslims (who HATE anyone who is not a Muslim, 80% of current humanity) and pleading with Muslim clerics (the very ones who incite Muslims to go on Jihad) to stop mistreating Christians!
Irrational Catholic hatred of Jews has been going on unabated for almost 1700 years and continues as we speak so it should NOT surprise Jews at the behaviour of this left leaning, Islam grovelling Jesuit pope

Whilst not justifying any hatred of Jews on the part of Christians, which is in any case contrary to the teaching of Jesus, the fct is that the first persecution of Christians was carried out and instigated by Jews, not all of them, of course. Just read the Acts of the Apostles for that.
Many pagans at the time of Jesus were attracted to Judaism, but most of them stopped short at converting to it. Why? They were turned off by the requierement of circumcision and the dietary laws, both of of which were eliminated by Christianity, beginning with St. Paul, who felt proud of his Jewish heritage and also of being a Pharisee. Check out the Letter to the Romans 9-11 and the letter to the Philippians.
The rabbis, who were the successors of the Pharisees, thanks to whom judaism survived, put excessive emphasis on the letter of the law, as if it were a kind of encarnation of God hismelf. On the other hand, Christians put more emphasis on the Prophets, so that there were two strains of judaism at the time, the Torah one, and the one which followed the prophets, which was the one followed by Jesus and his followers.

I am grateful for your truthful comments
The Jews who persecuted the initial Christians were from the elite religious leaders the very ones that Jesus was against
You also confirmed my comment as to WHY it is very difficult for none Jews to convert to the Mosaic Law
Based entirely on the teachings of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels it is IMPOSSIBLE – in my opinion – to be a true Christian and a Jew hater at the same time especially since Jesus, his family, the Apostles and the first Church were ALL Jews thus hating Jews would be tantamount to hating the legacy of Jesus
Please correct me if I am wrong

The Self-Appointeds: Who Put Them in Charge of Free Speech?
by Douglas Murray
June 7, 2015 at 5:00 am
“….In the hours after the (Boston) shooting, there was intense media interest in what the police knew about the dead suspect. The name of Ms. Geller came out. And something subtly changed. In a set of media interviews with Ms. Geller and with her colleague at the American Freedom Defense Initiative, Robert Spencer, their interviewers expressed relief that they were safe — and then turned on them.
“The nadir was an interview on CNN conducted by Erin Burnett, where the news anchor questioned Ms. Geller down the line. The interview is well worth watching, if for nothing else than for what should become a seminal example of the mess the West has got itself into on these questions. The interviewer got herself into an oddly self-strangulating position from the start when she mentioned to Geller, “Obviously the Prophet Mohamed cartoon exhibition in Texas — you were the one behind that. Obviously people died during that. There was a gunfight.” This is presenting facts in a weirdly neutral light…..
“….But a pattern of thought about this beheading plot emerged. It was the same pattern that showed itself hours later when Robert Spencer was interviewed on CNN and asked, strangely, what he had done before the attempted attack to reach out to the Islamic community in Boston……

After a quick internet search, I found an interesting article, “Pope Halts Beatification of French Priest,” by Alan Cooperman, Washington Post Staff Writer, June 16, 2005. That article may be found at the following URL:
.
An excerpt from that article follows:
“According to extracts published in the French Catholic newspaper La Croix, Dehon wrote that Jews were “thirsty for Gold” and that “lust for money is a racial instinct in them”; he called the Talmud “a manual for the bandit, the corrupter, the social destroyer”; and he recommended several measures later adopted by the Nazis, including that Jews wear special markings, live in ghettos and be excluded from land ownership, judgeships and teaching positions.”
Dehon’s canonization will be, at very least, a disgrace. I should think that the canonization of the martyred 21 Coptic Christians would be more significant to a world waiting for its most prominent religious leader to take a stand against unsurpassed evil . . . Islam. The Roman Catholic Church seems to have reneged on its sacramental duty to be a “soldier of Christ.” So much for Confirmation.
The following oft-quoted standard finds its original source in the Mishnah, which is part of the Talmud: “Whoever destroys a soul, it is considered as if he destroyed an entire world. And whoever saves a life, it is considered as if he saved an entire world.” Pope Francis, should this canonization occur, will have missed his opportunity to save a life, for his action will enable the Islamic enemy of Israel, Jews, and Christians. Most assuredly, many will die at the hands of “religion of peace” adherents.
Just a note: The Torah consists only of the first five books of Hebrew Scriptures (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy); the Tanakh consists of all the Hebrew Scriptures. The Tanakh is what Christians refer to as the “Old Testament.” Most significantly, YHWH, in Genesis 12:3, says to Abram, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse; and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” YHWH’s “context of time,” is eternal.

In an age when islam is hell bent on taking over the world, one would think that Jews and Christians, despite their differences, would ally with each other in support of their mutual interests, survival being the foremost interest. Instead the animosity between the two, and most of that animosity seems to be on the Christian side, does nothing but aid the jihad. And the internecine warfare between the various Christian sects never ceases to amaze me. It’s the “I have all the answers and if you dare to disagree with me you are going to burn in hell” syndrome. It’s a recipe for suicide.
Well, the current pope, In spite of the fact that Christians are being slaughtered by the thousands, seems to be at the head of the “appease islam, bash Jews” list. Just like the leftist leaders of Britain, he is leading the Catholic church down the path of suicide. His leftist ideology dominates any meanderings toward reason or rationality.
Pope Francis is the reason William Kilpatrick’s plan, and it is a very good plan except for the implementation, will never come to pass. Never let reason and reality get in the way of leftist Utopia.

The Pope, of all people, should be aware that evil, cruelty, etc, is **never** justified within the context of the times in which **anyone** lived. It’s in the Bible, and the teachings of the man Francis supposedly accepts as his Saviour. Faugh.

Amen, brother, Amen. Way too many people think that they have all the answers to God and the origins of the universe. I’ll begrudge no person his belief, but if they knew it for a fact they wouldn’t have to call it faith. You don’t have to have faith in something you know to be true. Faith means: I want it to be true, I believe it to be true, therefore I declare it to be true and anyone who disagrees with me is an evil SOB who is going to burn in hell for eternity.

First of all, I don’t believe a man, even one called *pope* has authority to decide who is a *saint.*
Even Christ said that God, His Father, decided who would “sit at my right hand or my left. (Mark 10:40) is not mine to give.”
Second: the pope said: ” the late priest should be judged within the context of the times in which he lived.”
Just where in God’s Word, does it ever say this? Man is not supposed to judge, but to observe others conduct…or fruit…and by this fruit, whether good or bad, they can make reasonable decisions as to whether they are saying and doing as Jesus did, or if they are wolves out to devour others. So we can make a judgment only about their conduct, not their destiny.
But, even if men cannot stop themselves from *judging* the conduct of others and what their reward should be, where does the pope get the idea that person should be judged ‘within the context of the time he lived*?
I am glad I am not supposed…by the faith I have…to listen to this man who calls himself and is called by others, pope.
Christ Jesus was a Jew, his mother, Mary and his adoptive father, Joseph, and their sons and daughters and his first disciples….were all Jews. Christ did not tell Christians to hate the Jews. He taught love.

There are some knowledgeable comments above about the Talmud. I was troubled by some of the anti-Semite sources that attribute extremely hateful things to it. So I spent a weekend about 5 years ago when I was recovering from my near death experience researching it.
.
Out of 20 or 30 books there supposedly is about 300 hateful sentences or paragraphs, small amount but significant in their ugliness.
.
Supposedly, the early Church tried to git the Jewish Rabbis to remove the hateful portions so they could be reconciled with the Church. The Rabbis refused or agreed to do so but left them in their unedited versions of the Babylonian Talmud. ExJewish converts to Catholicism ratted them out, or perhaps made them up to git even with the Rabbis, and that was the beginning of the split and the hatred of Jews by the Catholics.
.
Then in the Middle Ages the Eastern European Talmud appeared and it supposedly too had the anti-Christian sayings in them which renewed the Catholics hate against the Jews. Whether these things like the above quotes and others about Jesus Christ’s Mother Mary and Jesus are in them, I do not know. But a few Catholic publications alleged they were.
.
So to sum it up it appeared the hatred of the early Catholic Church and rekindled in the Medieval Ages was stoked by alleged content of about 300 passages out of up to 30 books of the Talmud.
.
I would like someone knowledgeable in the Talmud to comment and tell me what their understandin is, and how much I am off in what I remember from 5 years ago. Thanks.

The Scriptures, the Talmud and the teaching of the Hebrews have served the world well. The fruits are smart lawyers, doctors, professionals and business people who have more than contributed to the health and wealth of all nations.
On the other hand you have those who have made life difficult for the world and Jews in particular. Their legacy is dark indeed. That would include the Church at times, which taught its illiterate masses that Jews killed Jesus.
