Erdoğan “has been harmed by the crime,” said his attorney, Ferah Yıldız. The poor shrinking violet! He should step down as President and retreat to quivering under his desk.
This is, of course, flagrant pandering for Islamic supremacist support, which Erdoğan needs more than ever after his recent electoral setback. Will his close friend Obama take the cue and start entering cases regarding “slander” of the prophet of Islam?
“President Erdoğan joins Quran defamation case as plaintiff,” Hürriyet Daily News, June 17, 2015:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has become involved as a plaintiff in a case filed against a woman who allegedly “insulted the Quran” by posting a photo on Twitter showing her foot standing on the Muslim holy book.
The defendant faces up to four years in prison.
With Erdoğan’s involvement in the case there are now 22 plaintiffs, including Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek and former minister Egemen Bağış, who was one of the most prominent names embroiled in Turkey’s huge corruption probe launched in late 2013.
The woman did not attend the first court hearing in the case, which was held in Istanbul’s 58th Criminal Court of First Instance on June 17.
The indictment against the woman, prepared by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office, carried a penalty of up to four years in prison on charges of “incitement to hatred and enmity.”
President Erdoğan’s attorney, Ferah Yıldız, said the charge against the woman was clear and they demanded that she be punished.
“My client [Erdoğan] has been harmed by the crime,” Yıldız added.
The attorneys of other plaintiffs, including Bağış and Gökçek, also said their clients had been harmed by the crime.
The indictment said the defendant was required to serve from 1.5 to 4 years in prison for “inciting society to hatred and enmity by insulting Islam, the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad.”
The woman, who is being tried without arrest, will be brought to court by force for the next hearing due to her absence in the first hearing.

As if we needed more reasons to why Turkey shouldn’t be allowed into the EU…
Debbie says
Unfortunately, she could be arrested in the UK and some other EU countries for doing the same thing under the guise of “incitement” laws, which seem to be enforced primarily to impose Islamic blasphemy rules on non-Muslims.
The dhimmi EU political class will see nothing at all wrong with this prosecution.

60% of the Koran itself is filled with “incitement to hatred and enmity.”
The hatred of disbelievers, apostates, women and heretics is incited in most of Islam’s sacred texts.

What a stupid woman! Had she chosen to stand on the Bible, she would’ve been praised everywhere from San Francisco to Sarkamis as brave, honest, creative, and culturally avant garde. Now, she is guiulty of a hate crime for standing on the Qur’an. [sarc]
Michael Copeland says
So in Turkey “inciting society to hatred and enmity” is a criminal offence.
It is all right, though, if it is in a mosque. Koran 60:4 praises the “excellent pattern … between us [muslims] and you [unbelievers] animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone”.

This verse is a complete WTF, how they dare to quote Abraham as an authority as they in fact have nothing to do with Abraham? How come? They don’t speak Hebrew, they do not follow the ways of Abraham, they were polytheists, they have only bonds to the pedo Mohammed, and should be humble themselves. Islam is a huge scam.

So, how have these idiots been *harmed*? Poor woman. There’s no way she’ll get a “fair” trial in such circumstances. She needs a place to which to flee. With ever more governments treating islam like it is shiny and good and …there are fewer and fewer places that would shield her.
It will be a wonderful, beautiful world when islam and its adherents are no longer around to persecute others in the name of their wicked, evil, demon *god.*

Turkey’s President Erdoğan joins Qur’an defamation case as plaintiff
………………………
Just Islamic “blasphemy” laws tarted up in a superficially more civilized guise.
This poor woman—she will get no justice in this court, when the charge itself should not be a crime, and the president of the country against her.

You can’t insult such a filthy book. Poor, sensitive Erdogaga feels offended as usual when somebody says something against the self-proclaimed prophet and his unholy book.
Erdogaga has been harmed by the crime. Boohoo get the paramedics to give him a sedative and then he leaves us alone

“…Quran defamation case….”
Hurriyet Daily News is a Turkish newspaper.
The use of the word “defamation” is either a poor translation or a deliberate mistranslation of whatever the word was in the original article in Turkish.
In the English language “defamation” is a legal term. It is, as a matter of law, impossible to defame a book.
It’s similar to the moment when Obama stood up and said that the future must not belong to those who “slander” Mohammed. “Slander” is another legal term, and it is impossible to slander a man who died c. 1,400 years ago. (Ironically, Obama trained as a lawyer.)
Beware attempts to subvert the meaning of certain words (including legal terms) in the west; constant attempts to slap some Islamic paint over the top of them.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has in the past made discriminatory remarks about Armenians and Kurds.
Is he ‘inciting hatred and enmity” towards Armenians and Kurds? Can he be charged under this law as well?
During an interview, Erdogan complained that people had questioned his family background: “I was called a Georgian. I apologize for this, but they even said [something] worse: They called me an Armenian.”
Erdogan has often made extremely disparaging remarks about Armenians. Is that also ‘incitement to hatred and enmity’?
No doubt, it is.

What was she thinking posting such a blasphemous picture on internet? People have been beheaded for much less.
Even in the West she would have been accused of “provoking” Muslims, how much less in a Muslim country.

on charges of “incitement to hatred and enmity.”
But, that’s the Quran, ainit? When I read it the first time it certainly filled me with hatred and enmity…I immediately went outside and torched a few cars to relieve me of the tension…The judge cured me of that. Since then, I can read the Quran and not destroy anything, but it’s hard…I did kick the dog once, but it bit me, so I got over that too. Now, I just pace a lot. So whenever I see a Mahoundian kicking a dog, or pacing, I understand it…He’s been reading the Quran….
