Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Chattanooga jihadi: Muhammad’s companions all “fought Jihad for the sake of Allah”

Jul 17, 2015 11:46 am By Robert Spencer

Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez

In Islamic theology, jihad for the sake of Allah refers specifically to the form of jihad that involves taking up arms. “REVEALED! READ the FULL DISTURBING BLOG POSTS of Muslim Jihadi Terrorist Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez,” The Right Scoop, July 17, 2015:

…As Muslims, we often do this. We have a certain understanding of Islam and keep a tunnel vision of what we think Islam is. What we know is Islam and everything else is not. And we don’t have appreciation for other points of view and accept the fact that we may be missing some important parts of the religion.

Because Islam is a comprehensive religion we need to know everything from its message. The more comprehensive our knowledge of it is, the better our understanding of it will be and of what goes on around us.

We often talk about the Sahaba (RA) and their Ibada. We talk about their worshiping at night, making thikr, reading quran, fasting, sala. But did you ever notice that in one certain period towards the end of the lives of the Sahaba (RA), almost every one of the Sahaba (RA) was a political leader or an army general? Every one of them fought Jihad for the sake of Allah. Every one of them had to make sacrifices in their lives and some even left all their wealth to make hijrah to Medina.

So this picture that you have in your mind that the Sahaba (RA) were people being like priests living in monasteries is not true. All of them towards the end of the lives were either a mayor of a town, governor of a state, or leader of an army at the frontlines. The Sahaba (RA) were very involved in establishing Islam in the world. Their mission was to establish Islam and live it.

Abdullah Ibn Masood (RA) said “The companions of the Prophet (SAW) were the least superficial of the people”. They were very simple in the lives that they led and they were comprehensive in their understanding of Islam and applied what they knew. And that’s why they are considered to be the best generation that ever lived. After the prophets, they were the best human beings that ever lived.

We ask Allah to make us follow their path. To give us a complete understanding of the message of Islam, and the strength the live by this knowledge, and to know what role we need to play to establish Islam in the world.

A Prison Called Dunya

Posted on July 13, 2015

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيمIn the Name of Allah (SWT), the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

A Prison Called Dunya

Imagine that you are taken by force and placed in a prison. Once in the prison you realize that the living arrangements in this prison really aren’t that bad. There is a sun room, a TV to watch, computer to use, phone, different kinds of food, and even a section for exercise. After spending a couple weeks in the prison you get used to it and develop a routine. You still aren’t sure why you are in prison, or how long you will be there, but you are comfortable in your life. At this time one of the guards enters with a large folder that he hands you. You open the folder and read its instructions, stating that you will be spending the next couple years in this prison, and at the end of this term you will be given a test at a random time. It could be in 2 years or it could be in 4. The instructions state that passing this exam will result in you being released to the city of your choice and your living expenses will be paid as well as an allowance. Failing will lead to your transfer to another prison cell, one that has no windows or accessories except a hole in the ground for you to relieve yourself, and your meals will be the same oats and water day after day until you die.

A study guide for the test is included in the folder, and you are left alone. Put yourself in this position. What would you do?

I would imagine that any sane person would devote their time to mastering the information on the study guide and stay patient with their studies, only giving time for the other things around to keep themselves focused on passing the exam. They would do this because they know and have been told that they will be rewarded with pleasures that they have never seen.

Anyone who chooses to indulge in the activities around them and spend part or none of their time studying would surely live the rest of their life in remorse.

Allah (SWT) says in the quran (Surat Al-Hadid Verse 20):

Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children – like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.

Rasulullah (SAW) says in the following Sahih (Authentic) hadith:

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏ الدُّنْيَا سِجْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ وَجَنَّةُ الْكَافِرِ

2956 صحيح مسلم كِتَاب الزُّهْدِ وَالرَّقَائِقِ

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the unbeliever.”

Source: Sahih Muslim 2956

Subhnallah, this life we are living is nothing more than a test of our faith and patience. It was designed to separate the inhabitants of Paradise from the inhabitants of Hellfire, and to rank amongst them the best of the best and worst of the worst. Don’t let the society we live in deviate you from the task at hand. Take your study guide, the Quran and Sunnah, with strength and faith, and be firm as you live your short life in this prison called Dunya.  Allah (SWT) says live for this life and the hereafter according to their length. Rasulullah says the life on this world compared to the hereafter is like a drop compared to an ocean.

Brothers and sisters don’t be fooled by your desires, this life is short and bitter and the opportunity to submit to allah may pass you by. Take his word as your light and code and do not let other prisoners, whether they are so called “Scholars” or even your family members, divert you from the truth.  If you make the intention to follow allahs way 100 % and put your desires to the side, allah will guide you to what is right.

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Allah says: ‘ When a slave of Mine draws near to Me a span, I draw near to him a cubit; and if he draws near to Me a cubit, I draw near to him a fathom. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.”‘.

[Al-Bukhari].

We ask Allah to be pleased with us, reward us with Janna, and we seek refuge from his anger and the punishment of the Fire.

Islam is a MONOTHEISTIC RELIGION. It CLAIMS to be in the tradition of the Abrahamic prophets.
It is a revealed religion with a strong religious ethic and and strong religious law.
Islam is theocracy for both Muslims and Muslims. Jihad is the political and cultural and military extension of Islam into non-Islamic countries to establish Islamic theocracy and Sharia Law.
Islamic Sharia Law is fascist because it opposes all basic notions of free speech, free thought and beleif, and free assembly and self-determination. For religious reasons, based solely on the testimony of some Arab guy named Muhammad.
Islam is religion, culture, poltics, law, and economics all in one. It is a theological-political system with the primary purpose of taking over planet Earth and eliminating all non-Islamic views and beliefs.

Political Islam is the doctrine that relates to the unbeliever, the kafir. Islam’s relationship to the kafir cannot be religious since a Muslim is strictly forbidden to have any religious interaction with them The religion of Islam is what is required for a Muslim to avoid Hell and enter Paradise.

      Sharia Law for Non-Muslims

Islam is a political system with its own body of laws called Sharia. Sharia law is based on entirely different principles than our laws. Many of these laws concern the non-Muslim.

Islam is a political system, a culture and a religion based upon the Koran, Sira (life of Mohammed) and Hadith (the Traditions of Mohammed). The Islamic Trilogy series integrates the three primary sources to give the entire Islamic political doctrine-the treatment of non-Muslims. The Trilogy is authoritative and fact-based. All statements can be confirmed by the use of reference numbers. The knowledge is integrated-all of the primary sources are used to give the complete picture of Islam’s political doctrine.

Wait.. Anger? Punishment of the fire?! What god is this guy serving??

Islam has missed the message: God is a God of love, who wishes that NONE perish…..

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
who gave himself as a ransom for all” (1 Timothy 2:3-6)

          Re:
“kay’s implication that Islam is just like Judaism and Christianity is utter rot.”
That is NOT what I said. You don’t get this at all.

Mohammed IS one of those Abrahamic prophets. Like Moses. OR Joseph Smith ( Mormon ).
Islam is NOT morally equivalent to Judaism or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The latter do NOT have Sharia Law type culture.

What I said was “This is bloodthirsty Abrahamic religion.” And it is. Islam is bloodthirsty Abrahamic religion. It’s both. All the time.

I am a Buddhist teacher and necessarily a theologian. And I speak English at the top fraction of one percentile of native speakers. I speak carefully using evidence based reasoning. I do not guess. I investigate.

You made a reading misinterpretation error I would not have made in seventh grade. There is utter rot here in this exchange, but it is not mine. I do NOT attack Christianity. I DO attack the Islamist friendly, anti-free speech Pope Francis. He’s on the wrong side. Big difference tho.

But clearly, the CLAIMED monotheist Latter Day Saints are NOT morally equivalent to the Muslims. And the Muslims are NOT morally equivalent to the Christians or Jews. Technically they are ALL Abrahamic monotheists, but in theological terms they have very LITTLE in common.
At most they share some religious texts. The Abrahamic scriptures.
          Got it?
The Americans and/ or muggles really have NO concept of theology or theological reasoning. That is one of the main problems! If people actually understood what Islam and Sharia and jihad really meant, then we would not be in such a bad state, either in the US or in Europe. Dr. Karen Armstrong is clueless. Not me.

The problem is lack of historical background and lack of reasoning.
Theology does not say “right” or “wrong”, “better” or “worse”. Theology is the study of religious belief systems and human culture.
The Communists are worse than the Nazis. And the Islamists are worse than the Communists.
Sometimes the Christians are actually kinda good. I prefer Christians to the Nazis, Communists and Islamists. By far. I spent seven childhood years in church choir. There weren’t ANY bad Christians in the churches I attended as a kid. I got along with everybody.

Of course, the Buddhists have the most peaceful historical record, but that doesn’t mean Buddhists are without problems. There have been civil struggle and communal violence between Buddhists. I had to study Buddhist history. But almost no Buddhists know Buddhist history in the broader sense. And many so-called Buddhists today know little or nothing about Buddhism.
I just spent fifteen hours straight fighting clueless arguments on Buddhist youtube videos. I only do this because I have to.

          Once again:
          http://www.politicalislam.com/about/

Okay. NOW we should be at Square One. Someone has to know how these things work. Sigh. It’s okay. The yoga teachers have no concept of theology either. That’s why I had to work so hard over months and years to give them a definition of religion.

The Dunya prison story is interesting to the point of describing the path to paradise or heaven is through study, faith and self discipline. This idea is also similar to some Buddhist traditions.

The story does not mention changing the arrangements of the current prison, only changing the self. That being said, I have heard many times the meaning of jihad is submittion, as in self submittion. If that be the case, why are so many muslins trying to change the prison or the world?

The answer, to remove distractions and temptations. A sign of weakness and a lack of faith. I would think that a muslim of true faith would be content with phase one jihad.

Re: “The Dunya prison story is interesting … This idea is also similar to some Buddhist traditions.”

Yes it is very interesting. No it is in no way comparable to Buddhist tradition, culture, or praxis.

It is interesting because it gives direct testimony into the psychological and religious life of a psychopathic religious murderer and devout Islamist. This is very important because the murder-suicide baddie is both a thoughtful sociopath as well as devout religious psychopath. He was not deranged or unstable. He was following a code of conduct and religious ethic.

No, it is NOT in Any Way similar or comparable to anything in the Buddhist teaching or practice. Buddhists follow the Law of Karma, not a prophetic revelation. This law is univeral, not dualistic. It works the same way for everyone, Buddhist or not.
Buddhist teaching is based on ethical self-criticism and independent critical thinking ( not blind belief ), maitri ( friendliness and helpfulness to others ), respect and co-operation and nonviolence and patience. For basic teaching see the Dhammapada of Sakyamuni. From which
      http://www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/buddhism/dp10.htm

Islam is based on religious revelation, submission, blind belief, coercion, violence, and the destruction of all human and civil rights. I have already given here the reference to

People are never told to “believe in Buddhism”, but to investigate it. I have deeply investigated the praxis of both Islam and of Buddhism. I am a theologian and community organizer, so I have to really study both and communicate what they mean as polar opposites.
Most people in the West have basically no idea about either Islam or Buddhism. But the information is all out there. You can start with Wikipedia. Please do.
If you do not have knowledge, it is similar to having eyes but not opening them.
Since Political Islam is a big and aggressive worldwide movement, one which seeks to destroy western civilization, it is necessary for us to study it well. Again I recommend all the books by Andrew Boscom.

“Better to conquer the self than a thousand armies.”

“Better to wear a pair of sandles than to try and cover the earth in leather out of fear of stepping on stones.”

Does this sound familiar? It should. It is in keeping with the highest traditions of Buddhism. Kind of like using study, faith and discipline in practice to seek nirvana or the path to heaven.

This is why I think it is interesting that muslims would have such a story while at the same time tying to conquer the earth.

        Have a nice day.

Your post, epistemology, goes to the heart of the main problem, such problem being not Islam, wretched though this religion is and secondary problem though it be, but rather continued willful ignorance of Islam by the West at large.

I mean if Western leaders en masse would publicly assert something to the effect, as Allen West has done, that Islam has doctrines in it (e.g., death for apostasy) which are profoundly troubling and completely not in accord with Western conceptions of liberty, then at least we in the West would know where the “real” problem lies———not with us but rather with the totalitarian ideology which is Islam.

Holy Hell, if you can’t even name the enemy of freedom, which Islam surely is, how in the Hell can you competently defend freedom? Here the mediocre (or worse) leaders of the West in our time, deficiencies like Merkel, Hollande, Cameron and Obama, can be seen for the woeful and weak defenders of Western Civilization which they are. A curse on all of them. I have no regard for any of them.

Hope you are doing well, my friend, in this ever increasingly goofy and stupid world we live in. Damn, do we need Churchills, Reagans, Thatchers, Adenauers, De Gaulles et al. right now. Sadly, almost none are in sight. The lone Western leader defending the West right now is Netanyahu, and he is doing so from the Middle East from a nation which is despised by a multitude in the West who remain utterly clueless that Netanyahu is speaking up not only for Israel but for all of Western Civilization. Oh yeah, can’t make this stuff up.

What we know is Islam and everything else is not.

Binary, as in Dar al-Islam vesus Dar al-Harb.

Because Islam is a comprehensive religion we need to know everything from its message. The more comprehensive our knowledge of it is, the better our understanding of it will be and of what goes on around us.

In other words, tell whether the binary state of something is a positive electrical force (one) or a negative electrical pulse (zero). Binary is zeros and ones. It is the most elemental of languages in electronics, the existence of a pulse or the absence of a pulse. We Infidels are regarded as the latter, which is a real negative.

We often talk about the Sahaba (RA) and their Ibada… Every one of them fought Jihad for the sake of Allah. Every one of them had to make sacrifices in their lives and some even left all their wealth to make hijrah to Medina.

The Companions were broke and many were criminals before joining the Holy Prophet. The breakthrough was at Yathrib with the first contract murders and then a long sequence of sieges, mass murders and robberies of coins, land, tools, and women and girls taken as sex slaves. Thus the dusty broke crooks who now go by the name Sahaba were enriched, and got some hot young quim in the deal. Very young. Their Ibada was riches and sex.

Islam is a noble religion, one of the three Abrahamic religions, one of the world’s great religions.

NYTimes and others report that Abdulazeez was Kawaiti born, but had both American and Jordanian passports. The Jordanian passport suggests he probably was of Falastin Arab heritage, like much of Kuwait’s working population prior to the First Gulf War.

The Jihadi wrote; “Every one of them fought Jihad for the sake of Allah..”

“So this picture in your mind that the Sahaba were people like Priests living in monasteries is not true..”

This is probably the “smoking gun” of his Jihadist testimony. Because he argues JIhad is a key and historic part of Islam, and that violence is not only approved but an essential part of the religion. The early muslims were not “like monks praying in monasteries (ie peaceful)”, but warriors and generals.

The problem with the story about the prison called Dunya is that there is more than one guard at the prison. Most of the guards do not care whether you are happy or not with the living arrangements; they just want to see you serve your time and then leave peacefully to whatever life may await you afterward. However, of all the many guards at the prison there are two in particular who have taken a special interest in you.

One of these two particular guards likes to torment you by denying you little pleasures like certain food and drinks and thinks it amusing to see you perform mindless routines every day in exchange for stories about how perfect the world will be once you are released from your cell. He gives you a book to study in preparation for a test to be given at an unspecified time in the future; however, unknown to you his book contains many WRONG answers.

The second of the two guards also shows a special interest in you by telling you to BEWARE; one of your guards is a liar and deceiver. He tells you some things that are similar to what the other guards have told you and he also tells you about the test you will be given before you are released. He too gives you a book to study and while in some ways it is similar to the other book you have been given, his book is very much different. His book recommends an attitude of passivity while the other book recommends aggression as the ultimate solution in resolving conflict with others.

Your dilemma is to decide which of the two books to spend your time studying. Which book contains the correct answers and which book contains the wrong answers? Whether you will be released to a whole new world of freedom depends upon the decision you make.

What do you do? Do you toss a coin? The decision is yours and yours alone. The test will be about your fitness to live in peace and harmony with others (some of these others will be like you but most will be very different from you). The two books contain opposing statements about the answers you will need to know to pass the all important test. Which guard should you trust … the one with the book filled with directives to be aggressive against those whose views differ from yours … or the one with the book suggesting tolerance and forbearance as being the preferred way? In one hand you hold the keys to your freedom and in the other hand you hold the keys to a another prison.

Again, keep in mind that the whole point of the test is to determine your fitness to exist peacefully and in harmony alongside those who will differ from you in many ways. Which book do you choose to rely upon? The decision is yours … and yours alone.

Chattanooga jihadi: Muhammad’s companions all “fought Jihad for the sake of Allah”
    ………………………..

And yet, Muslim apologist Jan Aage Jeppersen is claiming that since Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez is dead, we will never know his views. As for motive, he laughably posits that “maybe he hated war so much that he killed soldiers, or maybe a soldier stole his wife”.

    Yup—just an overzealous anti-war activist…sarc/off

It’s not unusual for loony tunes to write long semi-intellectual ‘manifesto’s’…Hitler did it, the Unabomber did it, the Norse killer (name escapes me) did it. They want the reader, if you have the patience to read BS, to know all their wonderful thoughts, and how super smart they are, this is known as ego tripping…That bit about prison life was interesting, maybe it’s great in plush prisons for the rich, but that is not true for average prisoners. Institutional life is not natural, every bit of it is a pain in the rear. Prison is not a monastery.
It’s a place where the weakest are afraid every waking moment.
That’s because nearly everyone in there is mean, that’s why they are there. Also, it is haram to urinate in a hole…Mahound told his devout not to do that because holes are the home to jinn. I notice Mo’s manifesto didn’t mention jinn. Had he had time to study a little deeper, he would have discovered them.

Here’s the essence of prison life…’Your standing in my spot’…’Your sitting in my spot’…’The cake on your lunch tray belongs to me’…’Give me your underwear’…’Now’….
And all that comes from your cell mate, Big Bubba, who hates most everyone, especially you.
