Popular Egyptian columnist Karima Kamal recently wrote that although the Egyptian constitution stipulates equality before the law, the judiciary does not apply this provision and refuses the testimony of Christians against Muslims in courts. Anecdotal evidence supports her claim. Some weeks earlier, the following letter was published on Arabic media:
Yesterday I suffered an extremely harsh and psychological shock. I went to court with one of my neighbors, a widow, to serve as witness in an inheritance case. Another neighbor and witness accompanying us was a young Christian. We had all been living as one family. Imagine my shock, then, at the judge who very rudely and with incomprehensible disapproval rejected the testimony of the [Christian] youth [saying]: “It is unacceptable for a Christian to testify against a Muslim.”
In fact, Islamic law maintains that the testimony of an “infidel” cannot be accepted against a Muslim.

An infidel testifying against a Mahoundian is slander. That is a separate crime from whatever the Mahoundian is accused of.
This judge won’t allow slander in his courtroom…It’s amazing he didn’t order the arrests of the Christian witnesses for this outrage…

There’s no change under Sisi, in other words. Egypt has a constitution for show and then it has a hidden, ‘real’ constitution…Sharia law.
As long as Muslim are this duplicitous, they cannot enter the modern world. They remain savages.
Ayatrollah says
We could change this over night by simply demand Egypt follow its own laws. When we get confirmed reports like this. Stop payment for 90 days, because we pay them 3 billion a year to leave Israel alone.
And demand this judge pick up trash with the Copts for 90 days too.
john spielman says
of course According to muhammed pbuh,* we infidels cannot testify for/or against our muslim masters, it’s part of sharia law! The muslims are the beautiful people while we the unbelievers are worthy of only slave status or death!!
pbuh* PERPETUAL BANISHMENT UNTO HELL!
Holy Prophet APF says
… although the Egyptian constitution stipulates equality before the law, the judiciary does not apply this provision and refuses…
Although the United States Constitution stipulates equality before the law, the judiciary does not apply this provision and refuses to enforce it in the Supreme Court, other federal courts, and in most state courts.
The difference between justice here and in Egypt as that they are further down the drain; they are Moslems which means they are in the deep dark part of the drain pipe where there is the big curve to stop drained waste from gurgling back up through the drain hole, where the stinking matted hair balls are caught.
This is why Moslems wear those stupid little geeky white caps: to cover up the stinking matted hair balls atop their skulls.
Angemon says
Despite all available evidence, we have jackasses in Europe who feel that islam is compatible with Western values.
Lioness says
El Sisi cannot be in every courtroom to control how judges behave. Surely in a muslim country, even a more “modern” one, there are enough lawyers and judges that hold the sharia superior to their constitution and this kind of verdict is not uncommon. After all, almost half of all Egyptians would vote for the return of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood. What does that say about Egypt! I pray for El Sisi’s safety; hopefully Israel can protect him.
Uncle Vladdi says
FFS, just take all the Christians and other non-muslims out of the middle east, and then economically quarantine the place FOREVER. Oh, and get off the oil.
PROBLEM SOLVED.
Of course, “our leaders'” motto is: “There’s No Money In Solutions! Whee!”
