“Khan also was overheard praising deadly attacks by the Taliban in both Pakistan and Afghanistan, including a 2009 bombing at a CIA base in Khost, Afghanistan. In another call, Khan was heard wishing for the deaths of 50,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan.” How did this imam miss all the peaceful teachings of the Qur’an that are so patently obvious to non-Muslims such as John Kerry and David Cameron and the rest?
“Terrorism conviction of Miami imam upheld,” by Jay Weaver, Miami Herald, July 23, 2015:
A federal appeals court on Thursday upheld the Miami trial conviction of an elderly Muslim cleric who was sentenced to 25 years in prison for sending tens of thousands of dollars overseas to finance the Pakistani Taliban. The U.S.-designated terrorist group had launched numerous violent attacks against both Pakistan’s government and American targets.
A three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously affirmed the jury’s conviction of Hafiz Khan, 80, on four terrorism support-related charges in 2013. He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Robert Scola, who called the evidence “overwhelmingly clear.”
The case against Khan, an imam at a Miami mosque before his 2011 arrest, was built on hundreds of FBI recordings of both telephone calls and Khan’s face-to-face conversations with an undercover informant. In the calls, Khan discussed details of numerous wire transfers to Pakistan over a three-year period that totaled about $50,000.
Khan also was overheard praising deadly attacks by the Taliban in both Pakistan and Afghanistan, including a 2009 bombing at a CIA base in Khost, Afghanistan. In another call, Khan was heard wishing for the deaths of 50,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan….

I’m waiting for Imam John Kerry and Ayatollah David Cameron to write books listing all the peaceful verses in the hadiths and the Koran.
Gentlemen, we are waiting BREATHLESSLY!

If Hafiz Khan was so convinced on the value of JIHAD, one wonders why he didn’t end his life in a suicide bombing.
Is that too obvious? Or is it proof that he’s a hypocrite who doesn’t believe in what he preaches…good for young men to die, but not for him!

Living at age 80, without taking part in ANY physical JIHAD, while all the time encouraging young gullible innocent religiously inclined BRAINWASHED youths, is AMPLE proof that these darn IMAMS are aware that the entire 72 virgins story is just that A YARN & A STORY with NO truth in it, just like there is NO TRUTH in the rest of the Ko ran! Hypocrites one and all, the Imams, the scholars & the dawaaists of islam

Meanwhile, while sending money to Pakistan and Afghanistan, he stayed in sunny Miami. A shame, my view, some druggie didn’t kill the bastard.

Of course islam is NOT a “religion of peace” …
And brave Mona Walter, who’s an ex-muslim, speaks candidly by saying …”oh, I think that is the biggest lie of all time ..islam is not a religion of peace ..because islam teaches, kill everyone who does not accept islam” …

It is a religion of peace; when there is only one tribe with its own vision of Islam left on earth, then there will be peace.

If the court managed to link his donations to specific attacks against US servicemen, could they, or their families, go through with a civil suit?
Jack says
What? There must be some terrible mistake, unless I misinterpreted the meaning of the story, this concerns the Religion of Peace and yet a leader is being accused of promoting Violence, this cant be racism, so it must be Islamophobia, that’s got to be it.

Hafiz Khan is a naturalized citizen, having come from Pakistan in 1994, who was the imam at Flagler Mosque in Miami. His son, Izhar Khan, also a naturalized citizen, is an imam at Jamaat Al-Mu’mineen Mosque in Margate, Florida. There is another son, also a naturalized citizen, Irfan Khan.
Here are extracts from two articles concerning Hafiz Khan:
“Hafiz Khan, 77, an American citizen who came to the United States in 1994, was found guilty by a jury of two counts of conspiracy and two counts of providing material support to terrorists.”
“Mr. Khan said that he was âtotally againstâ the Taliban and that he had sent the money to Pakistan to provide for his family and the Muslim school he had founded in the Swat Valley in Pakistan.”
“[H]e praised Taliban attacks, including those against United States military personnel and the failed 2010 attempt to detonate a bomb in Times Square.”
“In court, Mr. Khan, who was chastised by the judge for his rambling, evasive testimony, said he pretended to support the Taliban and extremism because he wanted the $1 million that was being offered to him by a man who turned out to be an informant.”
“In January, Judge Robert N. Scola Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida dropped the charges against Mr. Khanâs son Izhar Khan, an imam at a mosque in Margate, Fla., for lack of evidence.”

“A four-count indictment charges Hafiz Muhammed Sher Ali Khan, a U.S. citizen and resident of Miami; his son Irfan Khan, 37, a U.S. citizen and resident of Miami; and one of his other sons, Izhar Khan, 24, a U.S. citizen and resident of North Lauderdale, Fla. Three other individuals residing in Pakistan, Ali Rehman; Alam Zeb; and Amina Khan, are also charged in the indictment. Amina Khan is the daughter of Khan and her son, Alam Zeb, is Khan’s grandson. The four-count indictment alleges that all six defendants conspired to provide material support to a conspiracy to kill, injure and kidnap people abroad. It also alleges that they provided support to the Pakistani Taliban.”

Given the above information, the lone-wolf “homegrown violent extremist (HVE)” paradigm has little traction. Imams are the “elephant in the room” in the evasive discussions surrounding how an individual would suddenly develop Jihad Syndrome. The politically correct, belabored effort to ascertain motives and sources of incitement is both absurd and perilous. Social media is but a tool that enables the heavily-indoctrinated “Solider of Allah” to plot and execute hate-crimes or to fund them. The blatant causality is inherent in Islamic doctrine. The propagation of that doctrine by imams is the pivotal, “missing link” in the road to jihad. In Islam, lying is a virtue, as is killing; that alone is sufficient reason to name the enemy.
Christian A. Beltram says
Now that Mullah Omar’s death was announced by the Afghan government yesterday, I hope that more convictions of Taliban and their supporters are handed down and upheld in the future. Perhaps Mullah Omar’s death will allow some people who were previously forced to join the Taliban to turn against the organization and hand its leaders over to the International Criminal Court (ICC) so they can be tried and convicted for the many crimes against both humanity and culture that they committed in the past and are still committing in the present.
If news articles about yesterday’s announcement of Mullah Omar’s death are posted on Jihad Watch sometime soon, that will be great.
Oliver says
You must be joking——-THE ICC TO TRY A MUSLIM OR MUSLIMS?
They are too busy trying to see if they could charge Israel or Israelis with crimes, like protecting themselves; taking revenge against attacks, etc.
Forget Hamas ( and Hezbollah) using human shields. Storing weapons in residential areas. Israel ( and/or Jews everywhere) are the criminals.
And, (if Hussein Obama was not president)- the US for killing terrorists.
