CENTCOM reworked reports to make anti-ISIS campaign look successful

Aug 26, 2015 6:14 pm By Robert Spencer

Baghdad_BobObama’s defense apparatus has become a Ministry of Propaganda. As I asked several months ago, has Baghdad Bob become Secretary of Defense?

“Pentagon watchdog probing whether anti-ISIS campaign analysis altered,” Fox News, August 26, 2015:

The Defense Department’s inspector general is investigating whether intelligence reports about the progress of the U.S.-led coalition’s campaign against ISIS in Iraq have been “skewed” to be more optimistic.

The New York Times first reported that at least one civilian employee of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) told authorities that officials at U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) were improperly reworking intelligence assessments prepared for policymakers, including President Obama.

A senior military official confirmed to Fox News that an IG investigation has been initiated into the allegation.

The Times report did not say when the assessments were allegedly altered, nor did it say who may have been responsible. Officials told the paper the investigation was focused on whether military officials had changed the conclusions of draft intelligence reports during a review before passing them on….

However, earlier that month, retired Army Gen. John Allen, the White House’s top envoy to other nations in the anti-ISIS coalition, told an audience at the Aspen Security Forum that ISIS had been “checked strategically, operationally, and by and large, tactically,” adding, more bluntly, “ISIS is losing.”

Bagdad Bob/Comical Ali seems to have had a lasting impact on the US administration.
Even George W Bush admitted to being something of a fan, telling the US television station NBC that Mr Sahhaf was “great”. 😉

In all fairness, they had a big turd to polish…

It seems to me that the Nazi war reports in their days were somehow more objective than this current circus produced by the Pentagon (all due of Obama, of course).

Well, Obama is on his 4th secretary of defense I think it is. It seems that everyone who was remotely worth anything resigned and so he ended up with…?

They are telling the President what he wants to hear. But it is not only him. The Iran deal has proved once and for all that behind the President are the financial cartels, the investors etc who make Foreign Policy through the Council of Foreign Relations.

Those financial monopolists have been running the nation since Woodrow Wilson. They want to get back into Iran! And they obviously want chaos to reign in the Middle East for their own economic reasons. The army is simply doing their bidding.

The only factor capable of getting to the bottom of this cesspool is the legislative branch which is now a rubber stamp and a big joke, We are screwed!

I couldn’t care less if only the chaos stayed there, where folks obviously don’t want it any other way. But we’re importing it back and selling it with lies and fake labels, that’s our problem.

Let’s not forget what CENTCOM is also responsible for: a regulation which requires U.S. military personnel to don clean, white gloves before handling a Gitmo detainee’s taxpayer provided Qur’an–because, to those uber devout folks, non-Muslims (being filthy) are not permitted to touch their precious book.
