Chattanooga woman fired for criticizing jihad murderer and his family

Or are mall officials so terrified of offending Muslims who might decide in their rage to emulate Abdulazeez that they will fire Heidi Grubbs and ban her from the Northgate Mall rather than offend Muslim sensibilities?

As for the sign on her car, certainly it is in poor taste, but would it have gotten Heidi Grubbs banned from the Mall if it had said the same thing about Christianity and the Bible? I doubt it.

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – A Chattanooga woman with strong views about Islam finds herself out of a job and banned from Northgate Mall.

Heidi Grubbs was gainfully employed at the Belk department store inside Northgate Mall until a customer overheard her conversation about domestic terrorist Mohammad Abdulazeez, the shooter who killed five servicemen in Chattanooga last month.

“I made a comment specifically towards the terrorist Mohammad and his family by stating that he was a piece of sh** scum and his family was too for killing our men. And then I was fired because I refused to apologize for it,” Grubbs said.

But losing her job wasn’t the only thing she was faced with.

“Two officers in the loss prevention office told me I was to be banned from all properties of CBL because of a sign that I have on my car.”

The sign is an anti-Islamic message that she proudly stuck on her window.

“The original sign on my car states that I will sh** on your Koran; I’ll spit in the face of your Mohammad; and that Islam is a lie.”

In a previous interview with Examiner.com Writer Joe Newby, Grubbs said she has been very outspoken about Islam since moving to Chattanooga from Memphis. “What happened to our soldiers” is more offensive than anything she might have written on paper, she added.

A CBL executive told News 12 that Grubbs was banned because she violated the mall code of conduct.

“It’s more to do with the vulgar language that was used. It’s not anything to do with her personal beliefs,” said CBL Marketing Director Catherine Wells.

Yeah, sure, the vulgar language, that’s what it’s all about. Not that anyone seems to have asked her to take down her sign. They had no other alternative besides firing her and banning her from the Mall? Ridiculous. Clearly the sign, along with her comments about Abdulazeez and his family, offended their politically correct Sharia-compliant sensibilities.

Grubbs was forced to sign a legal documents that solidified her being banned from all CBL properties for one year. And now she is threatening to take civil action because she feels her freedom or speech and expression has been violated….

    I’m available to help this young patriot if she needs it. This is a CLEAR-as in ‘easy, child’s play’ case of 1st Amendment violation. And the garbage she signed isn’t even worth being used as toilet tissue.

    • The First Amendment protects again government discrimination, not private discrimination. In Oregon there had been a case challenging whether a mall was sufficiently public to allow signature gatherers — it was not.

      These private employers and mall operators can be pro-jihad. It seems to be the cool thing, the trendy thing. They would appear to prefer to host a good old fashioned Islamic mass head chopping of Infidels, IS-style (IMHO).

      And while some here have mentioned that the First Amendment does not hold in cases of private property, this is true–to a point. Certainly, though, there have been suits for wrongful firing, and for wrongful barring from shops or other quasi-public places.

      I’m sure an attorney like Kathy–and perhaps Wellington–would have more to say on this issue.

      There was, of course, the horrifying attack on the Westgate Mall in Kenya–but there have been attacks at other malls.

      There is the oddly little-known Trolley Square shooting in Salt Lake City, where JIhad terrorist Sulejman Talović murdered five and wounded four others.

      Then there was a smaller attack at the Stoneridge Mall in my own backyard in Pleasanton California–where a Muslim ripped the crucifix off a woman’s neck and then threatened the surrounding Infidels with a knife.

      Al Shebaab has specifically urged Muslims to attack malls in America.

      And Jihad terrorists, of course, are well known for targeting markets all over the world–which is essentially what a mall is.

      None of this, of course, excuses the disgusting and unfair actions of the Northgate Mall toward Heidi Grubbs.

      • I do so much hope that the possibly cretinous mall authorities are being even handed and are also banning gun toting jihadis from the mall for twelve months. Otherwise, this lady will be unfairly safer than than their other customers who do go to the mall.

  6. The amendment on free speech does not say it cannot be obscene or vulgar. There are a couple of things added later by the courts…like the yelling fire in a theater and not inciting to riot, murder, etc….but that is not what she did.
    Much like the guy who was put back in lockup because he had made a little film and it was used against him for the purpose of covering other stuff, this is going the way the oic and hillary devised it back in 2011
    Recall that hillary said, “by shaming”…precisely because of the Free Speech in the Constitution.. . they would have to use things like “shaming” citizens into silence about islam.

    I suspect that, based on the political mood right now that favors islam, things like this will only increase even if no vulgar or obscene words are used. Then it will be that it is *hurtful* or *offensive* to muslims.

    • I personally find nothing wrong with what she did however she was employed by a private company and was on privately owned property. When she was hired she probably had to sign a code of conduct and that was probably how she was fired. She was employed by and paid to work at this company and they can decide what is tolerable speech and conduct

      • I personally wouldn’t use the language she did, but that is not the real issue. Businesses have *codes of conduct* and then implement them as they choose to do. Some companies enforce them ethically, while others have favorite employees and will allow infractions of the code.

        The first amendment was written to make the federal government leave citizens alone if they criticized it rather than be thrown in jail, prosecuted or persecuted for speech the government officials didn’t like.

        My point was that because hillary and the oic were trying to come up with a way to overcome the amendment, many companies are falling in line with the idea that muslims and islam are not to be *offended*…they are allowed extra time at work to *pray* when extra time to go to the restroom for other employees is not allowed…women can wear their scarves when others can’t wear any headgear…etc.
        I have heard a lot of unfavorable things said about the Bible at places of business, and if she had said something about that book, would she have been fired? That is the question.
        Businesses are allowed by law to set standards for their employees and also to ban certain troublemakers from the property. How and when and why are questions to ask when they choose to fire someone. Did she already have warnings in her employee file? Questions are important in cases like this.

      However, his appeal is that he can afford to be outspoken, up front, and in your face about things. He doesn’t have to look over his shoulder, thinking about how his remarks will play with the big donors. When he says the election’s about who’s competent rather than nice, that has resonance–especially given the follies we’ve seen over the past few years. Of course, whether Trump himself has the competence to deal with large issues of foreign policy, war and peace, etc. is quite another issue.

      Who said anything about ISIS? There is no proof that Jihad terrorist Mohammad Abdulazeez had direct ties to ISIS. You can discount ISIS entirely, and still have pious Muslims such as Al Qaida, Boko, Haram, and the Taliban. Just like ISIS, they are waging violent Jihad in the name of Islam.

      Actually, the “Lord’s Resistance Army” is an anomaly, and is not supported by any Christian denomination. Nor does it follow Christian tenets or the model of Jesus Christ. Moreover, it barely exists today. As of 2007, it was estimated to have as few as 500 active members–by 2012, the figure was between 200-250. It’s leader, Joseph Kony, was reported to be in poor health in 2013 and largely dropped out of sight.

      Would that any of this were true of Islam. There have been 26,727 Jihad terror attacks just since 9/11–including the massacre in Chattanooga that you appear to believe should be beyond criticism.

      As for the Qur’an itself, it is horrifyingly violent. What about “slaughter the Infidels wherever you find them”–the penultimate “revelation” of the Qur’an–“promotes peace”?

  23. Bottom line is that a commercial property can exclude someone for almost any reason and don’t have to explain it, though it might be unwise to do that.

    A business wants to make money from the most people possible. When they can’t do that, they’ll change their policy.

    Unfortunately, most Americans don’t understand that JIHAD is normative Islam that all Muslims are obligated to support and conduct. Jihad means a war of ethnic cleansing against disbelievers.

    Until Americans understand jihad, the criticism of Islam will remain controversial.

  35. Back in July, my boss told me she didn’t want me joking around with her because, in islam, if the husband took it the wrong way, he could kill over it. I told her I don’t give a shit about her religion. She called HR and I was fired for religious discrimination. I’m still looking for a lawyer. Anyone have any ideas?

People are scared to offend the Muslims because of the backlash, but if more none Muslim people stuck together like the Muslims do, much of this political correctness (gone mad) would go away – VOTE on your feet in such matters, if you think this women got a point or a right to say what she thinks, then boycott the establishment that sacked her. I wonder how many Muslims have been sacked for saying something bad about a none Muslim?

  38. I got fired from my job – after recently being promoted because I made a comment about Isis on Facebook. Someone from my work place took offence to it and I lost my job. Couldn’t get a good reference so my time there was wasted. I had to take a job with half the salary.

  40. If people collectively refuse to be treated by muslim nurses on the grounds that they are not sterile then maybe the NHS would come to it’s senses. It’s a fundamental rule in all hospitals, surgeries etc to wash your hands so how can they possible waive that duty in fear of offending muslims

    Unfortunately the lawsuit won’t work, unless some Muslim organization sues Heidi. And that would be the least harmful way. It might be better for her to hide now, or at least carry a weapon at all time.
