No explosives were found. Safa Alidoust may just have been trying to “strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah” (Qur’an 8:60).
“Iranian national arrested in Hancock County, accused of tackling deputy, making terroristic threats,” by Wesley Muller, Biloxi Sun Herald, August 30, 2015 (thanks to Darcy):
Interstate 10 was shut down in both directions for about 3 hours early Sunday after an Iranian national knocked a deputy to the ground and claimed his vehicle contained explosives, officials said.
Hancock County sheriff’s deputies arrested Safa Alidoust, a 32-year-old Iranian man living in Lafayette, Louisiana. He faces charges of false reporting of an explosive device associated with terroristic threats and two counts of simple assault against a law enforcement officer.
Chief Deputy Don Bass said the incident occurred about 3:30 a.m. on I-10 westbound near the Louisiana state line.
After dispatch received a call of a naked man on the side of road, the responding deputy found a shirtless man standing beside a vehicle.
When the deputy exited his squad car, Alidoust charged at the deputy, yelling in what the deputy believed to be Arabic, Bass said.
He said Alidoust tackled the deputy to the ground, injuring the deputy’s head and knocking loose his radio, leaving him unable to call for assistance.
When dispatchers could not contact the deputy, they sent an additional unit to the scene, and both officers were able to subdue and detain the suspect.
While detained, the man allegedly told deputies he had a bomb in his vehicle.
The deputies then contacted Mississippi Highway Patrol, Hancock County Emergency Management Agency, Louisiana State Police and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office to shut down the interstate and secure a perimeter of several miles. The Biloxi Police Department’s bomb squad also responded, bringing bomb-sniffing dogs and X-ray equipment to the scene. No explosives were found….
Bass said Alidoust is an employee at a petroleum engineering company in Lafayette.

Well it’s real good that we’re bringing Persians into the country for multicultural diversity. The police don’t have enough other things to do, and a good scare every now and then gets the circulatory system pumping. And shutting down the Interstate for a few hours saves the road from wear. This is the value proposition for why we bring these guys in.

To Alarmed Pig Farmer- I think your 8:52 am post of Aug. 31, 2015 is way, way funnier than John Spielman’s post of 9:16 am of the same date. BUT, I prefer his solution! Stay funny and brainy.

DEPORT HIM and his family back to his local crapistan

As I’ve been noting and will note again in the next post at my blog: we are “protected” by law enforcement officers who more and more are either incapable or unwilling to defend even themselves. Many, even most, are fully willing and able to kick ass when it comes to that. But it’s those who cannot and will not who make it obvious that we’re responsible for our own self-defense.

Did I miss the bit where he was identified as a Muslim?
There are plenty of non-Muslim Iranians in the West.

But they don’t plan terrorist attacks against the USA.
You would be VERY hard pressed to find any Iranian-American Bahai, Zoroastrian, Jew, Yezidi or Christian carrying bombs in their cars, in their homes, or on their bodies.
ECAW says
Neither did this bloke plan a terrorist attack against the USA that we know of.
And neither was there a bomb in his car.
Or are we reading different articles?

Naive, some? Delusional, maybe? In denial?

Nothing like waiting for the facts before jumping to conclusions is there?
Not on this thread at least.

We are constantly told that all cultures are equal, and multiculturalism is a strength (I am still in pursuit of the evidence, like Tantalus). It was a novelty for the relativists to contemplate relativism when the absolutists were separated from them by great distances. But now that there is mass importation of the cultural absolutist imperialists into the society of the cultural relativists, what happens? We are finding out. Either the cultural relativists begin to stand up for their own culture, or the absolutists will replace it. For the absolutists are not going to change their cultural beliefs, particularly when it is Mohammedanism, whose followers assert that its doctrine is unchangeable, which it has for over 1400 years.

“Either the cultural relativists begin to stand up for their own culture”
Which they won’t because, as cultural relativists, they can’t assert that one culture is better than other.

Deport him now.

Islam is the most brutal, oppressive, ideology on the face of the earth. There is no retrograde force in existence in the entire world. Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing cult of death. It is the banality of evil. It is antithetical to the consciousness of human inquiry. Send this POS back to Iran.

Well that’s what happens, you have a good night on the town, drink too much piss, get naked and then claim to the arresting officer there’s a bomb in your car. Happens all the time in my neighbourhood.
