Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Tunisian author: Democratizing Muslim countries means leaving Islam

Aug 18, 2015 7:08 pm By Robert Spencer

salem-ben-ammarCan a writer in a Muslim country point this out, or will he be accused of “Islamophobia”?

“Democratizing Muslim countries means leaving Islam,” by Salem Ben Ammar (translation from the French by RF), August 18, 2015:

“To hell with democracy! Long live Islam!” One hundred percent of Muslims agree with that. To say anything else is apostasy from Islam. These two competing political systems are antithetical to each other. You can’t be democratic and be a Muslim or a Muslim and be a democrat. A Jew can’t be a Nazi and a Nazi can’t be a Judeophile.

Neither Tunisia nor any other Muslim country is or will be truly democratic. Islam is the brain and the spinal fluid of all Muslims. Outside its path, there’s no salvation for them. Now, it’s rather hard to imagine Muslims abandoning Islam to embark on the democratic path. They’ll be the first to take advantage of benefits in the West, right up till the day when they become masters of the political game and with democratic legitimacy be able to impose the dictatorship of Islam and put to death individual and collective freedoms. It won’t be an Islamic republic that’ll see the light of day…that’s just an optical illusion as in the case of Iran…it’ll be a caliphate to govern the Muslim Reich, the Ummah.

No Muslim country can boast of having succeeded in its democratic experience, when generous portions of their constitutions are concerned with Islam and the state is made the protector of the sacred. Even Turkey is far from being a democratic state and its choice of secularism doesn’t agree with the nation’s political convictions. Its internal law is still ruled by the principles of Muslim law which does not guarantee equality between men and women and doesn’t protect the rights of minorities.

Nor is Tunisia a model of enlightened, elective theocracy with its constitution dictated by Islamists obsessed with Sharia and the caliphate that boasts of total allegiance to Islam, that no state may exist without Islam or have non-Muslim citizens or human rights incompatible with Islam, such as equality between women and men.

In a democratic system, religion cannot codify the life of its citizens and dictate to them the conduct to be followed in the management of public affairs and their individual liberties. Using the excuse that it’s a Muslim country, the sale of alcohol is prohibited on Friday. Forbidding women to marry a non-Muslim or to force fasters to hide to eat during Ramadan is proof of the pre-eminence of religion above private human business.

A religion that is too present in the life of people and in the marketplace can only hurt the blossoming of truly democratic societies. Democracy is not a simple matter of elections by universal suffrage. It needs to be neutral to all influence by religion, and making laws mustn’t be conducted in the name of Allah.

In a real democracy, justice is not done in the name of Allah. Justice is for men, what religion is for God. Inasmuch as the voice of the people is castrated, denied, hidden for the benefit of Allah, Muslim countries are condemned to live under the tyranny of Islam. Such experiences of democracy are just mirages that evaporate at the first call to prayer.

“Islam is the brain and the spinal fluid of all Muslims.”

Is that why they are all so ignorant of anything else, not to mention spineless?

Not correct- their brain and spinal fluid is normal but totally taken over by the ISLAM VIRUS.

Did the USA assist Afghanistan and Iraq to live under “under the tyranny of Islam” when assisting them with their new constitutions?

or was it the case that the majority wanted it (Sharia constitution) so US agreed to is?

That precisely is the tragedy of the Afghan campaign. The US and its allies went in spending billions and sacrificing many lives to help implement Sharia Law. Might as well have supported the Taliban to begin with.
If a war needs to be fought by the Western allies just to enforce a form of Fascism as a result, we need to ask whether Americans and European leaders even understand the principles of Democracy any more or the long history of bloodshed that led to its attainment.

True, Katherine–I don’t think a lot of the clueless Westerners involved understood that making Islam the final word in the constitution meant ipso facto Shari’ah law, and an end to any chance of freedom. It rendered all our expenditures of blood and treasure pointless.

Of course, it is likely that any attempt to establish freedom would have failed in a country virtually 100% Muslim, but this insanity codified its failure.

It’s Ataturk redux: Thinkers are sick of Islam and recognize its incompatibility with progress and freedom. Too bad that demographic trends point to the continued dominance of the knuckle draggers.

Can a writer in a Muslim country point this out, or will he be accused of “Islamophobia”?
    …………………………

I think the real question is whether Salem Ben Ammar will be targeted for murder.

Here is another article from him (please note: Google Translate bungled the headline rather badly–in French it reads, «Un musulman sans la charia est un apostat»–clearly, “A Muslim without Shari’ah is an Apostate”. Google Translate mistranslated it as “A Muslim Sharia is not an apostate”. ).

The rest of the translation is a bit clunky, but well worth reading:

    https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.postedeveille.ca/2013/12/un-musulman-sans-la-charia-est-un-apostat-salem-ben-ammar.html&prev=search

In it, Ammar says, “A Muslim without Sharia is a Muslim renegade, an apostate simply, as if he abjured Islam”.

I have been unable to find out whether Ammar has formally left Islam, but he clearly seems to grasp how harmful Islam is.

So much for evolution raising the IQ of humans.

““To hell with democracy! Long live Islam!” One hundred percent of Muslims agree with that. To say anything else is apostasy from Islam.”

    That says it all.

Too bad George W Bush didn’t know this or even take the time to find out before he ordered American soldiers to topple Saddam and “instill a democracy” in Iraq.

    Costs of Iraq war:

189,000: Direct war deaths, which doesn’t include the hundreds of thousands more that died due to war-related hardships.

4,488: U.S. service personnel killed directly.

32,223: Troops injured (not including PTSD).

    134,000: Civilians killed directly.

655,000: Persons who have died in Iraq since the invasion that would not have died if the invasion had not occurred.

    150: Reporters killed.

2.8 million: Persons who remain either internally displaced or have fled the country.

$1.7 trillion: Amount in war expenses spent by the U.S. Treasury Department as through Fiscal Year 2013.

    $5,000: Amount spent per second.

$350,000: Cost to deploy one American military member.

$490 billion: Amount in war benefits owed to war veterans.

$7 trillion: Projected interest payments due by 2053 (because the war was paid for with borrowed money).

Should Bush be in jail as a traitor to America? I say YES.

    • Goat Pimp says

      Aug 19, 2015 at 3:39 am

      Sorry, the list was incomplete.

$20 billion: Amount paid to KBR, contractor responsible for equipment and services.

$3 billion: Amount of KBR payments Pentagon auditors considered “questionable.”

$60 billion: Amount paid for reconstruction, (which was ruled largely a waste due to corruption and shoddy work.)

$4 billion: Amount owed to the U.S. by Iraq before the invasion.

1.6 million: Gallons of oil used by U.S. forces each day in Iraq (at $127.68 a barrel).

$12 billion: Cost per month of the war by 2008.

$7 billion: Amount owed to Iraq by the U.S. after the war (mostly due to fraud).

$20 billion: Annual air conditioning cost.

Missing: $546 million in spare parts; 190,000 guns, including 110,000 AK-47s.

40 percent: Increase in Iraqi oil production.

$5 billion: Revenue from Iraqi oil in 2003.

$85 billion: Revenue from Iraqi oil in 2011.

$150 billion: Amount oil companies are expected to invest in oil development over the next decade.

$75 billion: Approximate amount expected to go to American subcontracting companies, largest of all Halliburton.

0: Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction found (though a bunch of chems were discovered).

I am of the opinion that the Islamists who have infiltrated the upper tiers of government in US an UK are the ones who fooled our leaders into believing that Saddam had WMDs. These Islamists successfully used our military to topple Saddam and killed two birds with same stone.

        1) They knew that in the ensuing chaos after Saddam’s removal, Islamists will be the winners sooner or later, and

        2) They knew that the war will be a drain on the US in one form or another. I am sure that it has cost the US more than what the Islamists probably imagined in their wildest dreams (all of what you have listed above).

Maybe Dick Cheney and Halliburton had teamed up with the Islamists to play games for $profit, but it is obvious who the winners have been. The US has been a loser, and alongwith her everyone has been a loser, including Dick Cheney and Halliburton, whether they know it or not!

“Should Bush be in jail as a traitor to America? I say YES.”
The answer should be no. It was not treasonous to believe he had to react to what most of the world saw as a threat, including most Democrats.
But there is an act of treason you didn’t mention, and that is Obama’s outreach to the Muslim Brotherhood, not just in moral support and access to the White House, but to the extent of allowing MB connected people into our government agencies, especially the State Department. The top aid to our SOS has deep ties to the MB, which is dedicated to bringing down the West, especially the US. Aiding and abetting them is the very definition of treason.

    • SteveFinSC says

Noted. Take note, JIMJFOX, that the American Democracy was created by Fundamentalist Christians and Creationists. Oddly enough, those Fundamentalist Christians and Creationists created a SECULAR state not run by ANY church or sect – NOT EVEN THEIR OWN. However, that state was an expression of Christian Principles, including: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” (Luke 6:31), “Love our neighbor as you love yourself.” (Luke 10:27) “Turn the other cheek” (Matt 5:39), “Go the extra mile.” (Matt 5:41), “Do good to those who hate you and pray for those who despitefully use you.” (Matt 5:44). (You will notice none of these are from the 10 Commandments.) These principles were the foundations of the American character until the last 70 years or so, i.e., until the Left gained sway in our country. Now, we are meant to believe that the government is the font of all wisdom and righteousness – much to our misfortune. Destruction looms on the horizon even as I write. Who do you put you faith in? God or Obama? You choose.

  16. Westman says

    Aug 19, 2015 at 1:17 pm

It would appear that the world-wide instability of Islam, with the rise of militant groups as a symptom, is an indicator of an existential crisis in Islam. The militants and even Islamic regimes such as Iran are driving a revival of fundamental Islam in the face of modernizing society and trying to roll back the changes.

With modern communications it is impossible to remove the window onto infidel societies where infidels are blessed more than “the best of peoples”. The evidence speaks for itself unless this window is closed, as in North Korea. In their warped and bloody way, the militants, with Islam’s built-in deterents, may be trying to save Islam from going the way of the churches of Europe. In the West, even Islam is flagging in the direction of freedom with mosque attendance in low figures.

ME Islam may well be in a circular downward spiral as oil revenues fall over the next 50-75 years and Western governments stop throwing arms and goods into a hornets nest. Who will maintain those desert skyscrapers when the world has other adequate energy sources?

In the short term Islam makes gains in its own burned-out landscape. Over time its shackling of minds makes it a poor competitor of freedom, science, and all that they produce. Islam is destined to fall as a political, ideological, force into a vestige as impotent as neo-nazis.

The author is right freedom(democracy) and Islam are incompatible. There is no question of which will dominate. Freedom has produced and given humans something for which to live that far outstrips what the desert offered in the 7th-9th centuries. Death may have been welcome in those days. Today, choosing death is for those with no hope and for those who cannot make their own way; conditioned by falsehood and led by manipulators who have personal agendas. The ME is killing itself.

The emmigration to Europe is more than refugees; some want freedom, some want economic opportunity, some want escape from the hot desert and its lifelessness, some want all of the improvements, and yes, too many are dangerous and too many are parasites.

JW and other sources keep the window of comparison between Islamic Ideology and freedom open. For Muslims who come to the West it illuminates the Islamic doctrines that make Islam unfit for the future and gives them an opportunity to choose freedom and personal progress over ignorance and unrealistic expectations.

    Aug 19, 2015 at 9:41 pm

    It’s more like THIS:

Ask: why do “leftist” ‘activist’ extortionist gangsters always support “muslim” extortionist gangsters?

Proglodytes are “taught” SEDITION (abused by the false and backwards notion) that “Nations Cause Wars!”

To them, the idea of “nations” and “nationalism” only began during the Enlightenment, and was a concept – exactly like that of “greedily” owning, hording (and improving!) personal property, which was an idea deliberately invented by racist white people (including, of course, the Jews) to create exclusivist borders and restrict the movements of all those noble swarthy collectivist tribal savages on the planet.

Ignoring the fact that all the nations on earth evolved organically over time, from families to clans to tribes to nations to states and eventually empires, they “reason” in their usual, literally backwards, pre-posterous ways, that, in order to achieve world peace, they must first destroy the concept of “nations!”

That way those who destroyed their nations won’t have to feel jealous anymore about those who didn’t.

And they hate Israel the most, because it is the most successful nation, the main one to disprove their fantasy claims.

Muslims, too, are never patriots; they regard all national sovereignties as temporary, man-made false idols which must all be eventually destroyed and replaced with the one-world global muslim Ummah, to be ruled by their theocratic caliphate, and their duty is to wage offensive war to extort, enslave, and murder all the non-muslims. Terrorism is an inherent, not an incidental, component of islam.

No self-determined muslim believes in any sovereign national governments nor countries at all, ever!

Islam’s Sharia is either compatable with our Western, morality-based law (in which case it is superfluous) or it is not (in which case it is illegal).

There is only one universally accepted version of sharia crime (‘law’) and that is the original, Haneefite version as recorded in The Hedaya and used by the Ottoman Empire to rule all of islam for centuries; all moslems in all their countries are very aware of its simple might-makes-right and us-versus-them tenets and strictures.

There is really only one Qur’an, one islam, and one sharia.

And since islam is inherently SEDITION against ALL sovereign national countries (which it regards as only temporary man-made false idols, to be eventually destroyed and replaced by the global muslim Ummah, ruled by their theocratic Caliphate government – Sura 18:26) because since the Qur’an and subsequent sharia elaborations embody “god’s” perfect laws which are to apply to all mankind everywhere, why would anyone ever need any merely human legislators (even ‘democratically elected’ ones)?!

So, since islam is a subversive anti-national and anti-legal entity, why on earth are any of its “muslim” members ever afforded any legal standing to promote their criminal treasonous sedition, before any of our courts of law?!

Allowing foreign (sharia “law”) courts to exist in your country is to enable those foreign governments to govern in your country; it’s obviously TREASON.

Nation-hating leftist racists love islam because it’s full of poor oppressed angry violent noble swarthy savages who hate the idea of nations as much as they do! They think they can control muslims by coddling them, and aim the muslims at their mutual enemies – at the hard-working civilized patriotic nationalists.
