Sharia Watch director and former UKIP candidate Anne Marie Waters has announced today that a forthcoming exhibition of Mohammed cartoons to be shown in London has been cancelled after discussions with counter-terror police.
Writing for Breitbart London, Waters revealed the security services believed the event would be attacked, leading to a “very real possibility that people could be hurt or killed – before, during, and after the event”. The organisers of the event had approached over 200 galleries with requests to host the exhibition and were turned down by almost all of them. After the final gallery, which had initially agreed had a change of heart the Draw Mohammad exhibition was left homeless.
Waters regrets that the lack of a single gallery space in the country willing to stand up for the Mohammed cartoons and the pressure from counter terror police to cancel event confirmed her suspicions that Britain had become a “frightened nation”. Calling for the establishment of a global free-speech movement, Waters remarked “It cannot be a talking shop put together to discuss shouting fire in a crowded theatre, but a tireless campaign to actively defend, by legislation and other means, the right of people to criticise, analyse, reject, satirise, and mock any single set of beliefs which is capable of affecting society as a whole, especially its freedoms”.
“We need an international campaign comprising all who seek free speech protection, particularly from Islam. It needs to work hard and fast to reverse the tide. I will contact every organisation, politician, writer, and advocate for free speech that I can find, and I hope we can take the fight for free expression on to the world stage.
“The aim is a fear-free Mohammed cartoon contest. When we can have that, we will know we are winning”.
She will no doubt receive support from fellow free speech campaigner, and member of the Dutch parliament Geert Wilders, who held a televised exhibition of Mohammed cartoons in his native Netherlands earlier this year. Initially planning to hold a physical show of art in the national parliament, he was blocked by the authorities and was forced instead to use his right as a party leader to make a party political broadcast on a subject of his choice.
In an interview with Breitbart London in June of this year, Mr. Wilders said that every country in the world should have its own draw Mohammed competition, but not as a provocation to invite attacks. Instead, he said, it was crucial that “we cannot allow violent terrorists to win” by censoring freedom of speech. Wilders said: “Every time they threaten or attack us because we use freedom of speech, we should make cartoons 100 times more. This can be the only reaction – terrorists must get the message that attacking us is just counter effective”.
British police will have witnessed the attacks at other freedom of speech events around the world recently and drawn the conclusion they could expect similar trouble in the United Kingdom from Islamists determined to prevent the depiction of their prophet. Geert Wilders was present at the Draw Mohammed competition in Garland, Texas when two Muslim gunmen attempted to kill the attendees but were shot dead by security forces.
In Copenhagen, Denmark in Feburary, another freedom of speech event was attacked by a Muslim gunman. This time the attendees didn’t have the luxury of armed guards and a documentary film maker was shot to death by the assailant who then peppered the room with bullets. He made good his escape and proceeded to attack a Synagogue in the city the following day, killing one.

Derek drew the ultuimate Motoon. In my book one finds Bosch Fawstein´s first Motoon, as well. Book men wrote to me back in 2006 and asked if I would publicise their work. I wrote a book called Motoons. It´s a mix of Mohammed cartoons and photos of ISIS and other Muslims at work. Also, it is a book of Loontoons, part two being about leftists who make jihad popular in the west.
Facebook has banned my friend for posting this, even though Face book knows nothing about this book. It only became available yesterday. Seemingly the cover was enough to offend them. The contents are admittedly shocking. Not just atrocities, but my approach to the entire issue of free speech. It is not a nice book. Still, it is one way of fighting back against censorship. Being banned from Facebook is some kind of victory for a writer. I guess.

Not a single gallery space *in the whole country*. Waters should consider renting an unoccupied space and putting on the show herself. But gallery space is, of course, hardly the only issue here.
But note: it was not direct threats from Muslims that shut down this show, but *pressure from the very people who are supposed to be protecting Infidels*. Dhimmitude at its worst.

Yes; the rhetoric of many in the Counter-Jihad fosters (if not foments) a climate of bleak, apodictic pessimism, whereby one irresponsibly indulges in phrases like “Britain is already lost”, etc.
There’s not on region of the entire West that is lost — yet. It’s one thing to try to rouse our fellow Westerners to the dire situation that is worsening and portends horrific terror attacks down the pike; it’s another to say, and keep repeating, that we have already lost.
What seems to be the case is this: The West is astronomically superior to Islam. Muslims know this. They approach the West as invaders would contemplate a giant citadel which ostensibly, from the outside, seems impregnable. Then, by serendipity, Muslims found, to their shock & delight, this perennial enemy of theirs, “Rome”, the West, in the decades after WW2 began opening its doors WIDE open to Muslim immigration.
Not only must this Citadel appear ostensibly impregnable to these Mohammedan invitées from the outside, but also once they enter inside, and begin to settle comfortably in various parts, levels, floors, rooms of its vast interior — for Mohammedans are forever “outside” our civilization; they cannot comprehend it, they can only hate and fear it as an enemy inimical to their obsessively fanatical need to submit to Allah and His Prophet, and by the terms of that submission, try to compel everyone else to do likewise, by threats, violence, and subversion if necessary.
Since these Mohammedan intruders — Guests respected by our stupidly multiculturalist West — are astronomically weak in comparison with the Citadel they want to overthrow — they cannot simply invade the West with frank military invasion, as they did attempt out in the sunshine of history for a full millennium from the 7th through the 17th centuries — they must resort to other sideways tactics. This cancellation is, so far as I can see, the authorities’ tacit admission that there are *so many* dangerous fifth-column Muslims in the UK who could be *expected* to attack any such exhibition, that they (the authorities – the police) – feel unable to adequately defend both the venue and all attendees, should the Mohammedan Mob choose to attack en masse.
Now, here’s an idea: they *could* have put it on at Sandhurst Military Academy. *That*, of all places in the UK, ought to be sufficiently defensible…

No. It is an exercise of free speech and this made a huge impact in Paris. We have a saying : “Satirize those who behead others.” Charlie Hebdo satirized religion generally. Three million turned out to march under the banner “Je Suis Charlie”. People were asked “Why are you here?” and one woman said “Pour la liberte’.” For liberty. The commemorative Charlie issue stands for a Free France, and the tradition of French satire goes back to the major Enlightenment figure Voltaire, a most fierce critic of Islam and Mohammed. Seven million copies of the commemorative Charlie were sold. ‘Nuff said!
You may think my response to Islam is weak, but I’m actually fighting a war. On Youtube I post responses to Muslims and promote books by Bostom and Warner. I give many gory details from jihad history, provide lots of resources, and get in the fray. I connect the broader public to Jihad Watch, The Religion of Peace etc. and help build a broader movement. All across the planet.
In recent months we lost four counter-jihad bloggers in Bangladesh to the Islamofascists. But I honor their lives and continue their work. Many thousands in the Muslim world speak English AND they can find my written material on youtube. The more bad guys fight the real story with Taqqiya, the more the real story wins. When the right people show up.
I leveraged the Garland Texas event in advance of the show and promoted the key book Dhimmitude. Islamists showed up with AK-47 machine guns, as in Paris, proving how serious this is, and breaking the false narratives of Sharia compliant deniers in all sectors. Like Paris, Garland was a real turning point. The London cancellation and the Bangladeshi free speech martyrs are big news together – and I will make those known in follow-up to the “dumb little Garland Texas cartoon” event.
We HAVE to win in the social space and the social media space. Major players like Geller, Warner, and the Bangladeshi bloggers emphasize this. Social media provide OUR force multipliers. We win by spreading the gospel of free speech and forcing the bad guys to show their criminal nature. Cartoons are, like writing, a form of expression. Muslims want to crush that expression.
And recall–most of these cartoons are not just defiance in themselves–most of them, like Bosch Fawstin’s winning piece, also criticize the oppression and violence of Islam.
In other words, they *educate*. Educating is also exactly what Jihad Watch does.
There are many ways to fight tyranny–defending and practicing our freedoms and exposing tyranny are major aspects of the fight.
