Before you break out the champagne, declare the jihad over and start singing John Lennon songs, remember that El Tayyeb when he said this was probably keeping his fingers crossed behind his back. He has shown himself over the years to be anything but a preacher of peace, cooperation and mercy: he has justified anti-Semitism on Qur’anic grounds; called for the Islamic State murderers of the Jordanian pilot to be crucified or have their hands and feet amputated on opposite sides (as per the penalty in Qur’an 5:33 for those who make war against Allah and his messenger or spread “mischief” in the land); and broken off “dialogue” with the Vatican after Pope Benedict XVI dared to criticize the jihad massacre of 21 Christians in Alexandria on New Year’s Eve 2011. Al-Azhar was also revealed to be offering free copies of a book that called for the slaughter of Christians and other Infidels.
“Egypt: Islam Religion of Peace, Cooperation, Mercy,” AllAfrica.com, September 9, 2015:
Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb asserted that Islam is the religion of peace, cooperation and mercy.
El Tayyeb said that Islam believes in freedom of expression and human rights, and recognizes the rights of all human beings.
This came Tuesday during El Tayyeb’s meeting with Italian Senate’s Foreign Policy Commission Pier Ferdinando Casini and his accompanying delegation.
El Tayyeb voiced appreciation to the Italian government and people for siding with the nation against terrorism.
The western world should strictly handle international terrorist issue, El Tayyeb added.
El Tayyeb said that Al Azhar strategy in facing terrorism is based on maintaining the social relations via establishing the Egyptian Family House which aims at eradicating any division among Egyptians….
That will fix things right up.
