If Israel had responded to these attacks emanating from the surgeon’s house, the international headlines would have been “Israel destroys Palestinian doctor’s home,” complete with large full-color photos of the surgeon’s wife and children grieving next to the rubble, and no hint whatsoever that the site was used as a base for jihad terror attacks. Islamic jihadis in Gaza deliberately launch attacks from civilian areas so as to draw retaliatory fire they can exploit for propaganda purposes.
“Gaza Terrorist Used Doctor’s Home to Attack IDF,” by Uzi Baruch, Arutz Sheva, September 6, 2015, 3:59 PM
The Israel Security Agency (ISA, or Shin Bet) and the IDF have arrested a “Global Jihad” terrorist from Gaza who was involved in terror attacks against the IDF during the Protective Edge campaign in 2014, and in earlier terror acts.
The terrorist, – Iham Abu Nahel, aged 27 – was arrested in late July when he tried to leave Gaza to work as a teacher in Qatar, as part of a project for employing Gazan teachers.
Abu Nahel is a member of an Islamist faction identified with ISIS called “The Oneness of God,” which is part of the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) in Gaza.
Abu Nahel told interrogators that he started his terror career in the Hamas’s armed wing, where he received training in weapons, camouflage and observation, and took part in tunnel digging.
He later transferred to the PRC. In 2010, this organization’s leaders selected him for carrying out a suicide attack against Israeli targets on the Israel-Egypt border. He underwent special training for this mission and left Gaza for Sinai through a tunnel, in order to take part in an attack on an Israeli bus near Eilat. This plan did not work out for various reasons.
In 2014, he joined The Oneness of God,” a radical salafist wing of the PRC, and continued to take part in terror activities in that organization.
Abu Nahel told the Shin Bet that during Operation Protective Edge, Hamas embedded him in its “Nuhba” special forces unit in northern Gaza, despite his salafist identification. Together with the Nuhba forces, he took part in planting bombs and setting them off against IDF forces. To this end, the terrorists made use of the home of a medical surgeon whom Hamas trusted.
The ISA noted that Abu Nahel’s interrogation proves yet again how Hamas cynically manipulates Israels sensitivity to humanitarian needs….

Off topic but can I aska question, as there are many learned folks on here that can give me an answer I’m sure.
Would it in any way be correct to call either Isis, Islam or the caliphate ‘imperialism’? I heard a frothing at the mouth Muslim accusing the west of imperialism and it struck me as highly hypocritical.
Thanks in advance !

I would say yes.
From Merriam-Webster: imperialism — the policy, practice, or advocacy of extending the power and dominion of a nation especially by direct territorial acquisitions or by gaining indirect control over the political or economic life of other areas
This is exactly what ISIS is doing, where the nation concerned is the nation of Islam. This is advocated in the qoran. The caliphate would be something like the Ottoman Empire which was the caliphate for a few hundred years, only the ISIS version is much worse.

Islamic orthodoxy mandates spreading islam by the sword until it covers the whole world. If that doesn’t qualify as imperialism then I don’t know what does.

Israel related:
Netanyahu is barring Syrian Muslim “refugees” form entering Israel which is the best news I have heard all day. He knows what troublemakers these Muslim “refugees” are.

abad – it is just as well Bibi won the recent election and not the left-wing Hertzog. He disagrees with Bibi and says Israel should take in the Syrians. As if Israel hasn’t got enough problems!
