Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Head of Italian Bishops Conference hits West’s silence on Muslim persecution of Christians

Sep 30, 2015 6:49 pm By Robert Spencer

“Why, we ask the western world, why not raise one’s voice over so much ferocity and injustice?” asked Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, the head of the Italian Bishops Conference (CEI).

The Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch Gregory III has also said: “I do not understand why the world does not raise its voice against such acts of brutality.”

Here is why: “Talk about extreme, militant Islamists and the atrocities that they have perpetrated globally might undercut the positive achievements that we Catholics have attained in our inter-religious dialogue with devout Muslims.” — Robert McManus, Roman Catholic Bishop of Worcester, Massachusetts, February 8, 2013

That’s right, it’s all for the sake of the spurious and self-defeating “dialogue.” Bagnasco should ask his colleagues in the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. He should ask bishops like McManus, Kevin Farrell, Jaime Soto and others why they move actively to silence and demonize voices that tell the truth about this persecution. He should ask them why they tolerated dissent from so many core Catholic dogmas for decades, but move as ruthlessly as any Grand Inquisitor to suppress dissent from the idea that Islam is a Religion of Peace, which isn’t even a dogma of the Church. He should ask them why they are abandoning their Middle Eastern brethren and keeping their own people ignorant and complacent about the jihad threat.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is desperately corrupt and compromised, and needs a thorough housecleaning. But no such thing is on the horizon.

“West silent on ‘cull’ of Christians – Italian bishops’ head,” ANSA, September 30, 2015 (thanks to Insubria):

(ANSA) – Vatican City, September 30 – “The cull of Christians continues” in the Middle East and Africa where it “seems somebody has decided to uproot them to cleanse the territory,” Italian Bishops Conference (CEI) head Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco said Wednesday.

“Why, we ask the western world, why not raise one’s voice over so much ferocity and injustice?” Bagnasco asked opening a CEI Council meeting in Florence.

“Why, we ask the western world, why not raise one’s voice over so much ferocity and injustice?”

Simple answer: President Obama called for “rejection by non-Muslims of the ignorance that equates Islam with terror”

Meanwhile, back in the real world……

Putin just kicked sand in Obama’s face.

Once again… weird world!… The moment when someone like me starts to aplaude someone like Putin… And look at Russia’s position as “light in the end of the tunel”… What has become of the western principles? Does any one know if Western valuees still exist?Do we still stand for freedom? I am so lost…

        Oct 1, 2015 at 5:03 am

I’m right there with you. At times, the worlds gone mad! The West especially! As you correctly state: Where are our values. Do we stand for freedom. I too, (at times), feel lost.

        Until…..

(And please don’t think I’m attempting to convert you, cause I’m not. I’m sharing what I have found to be true in my life. What brings clarity. What brings… hope.)

Until…… I go to God’s word. Then and only then, does this all make sense.

In fact, it was spoken about before it even happened. Prophecy. Yes. Unlike, (“The Prophet” peace be upon him… bla bla bla B.S.), there actually is a place you can read about the future: The Bible

        Example:

        Isaiah 5:20-24

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight! Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine And valiant men in mixing strong drink, Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away the rights of the ones who are in the right! Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes stubble And dry grass collapses into the flame, So their root will become like rot and their blossom blow away as dust; For they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.”

        Sound familiar?

How many times, of late, have we had to endure Obama lecturing us on how “Good” Islam is, and how “Bad” Christianity is for not being… “Tolerant”

Tolerant?! Aaaah Last time I checked, muslim countries don’t allow a cross ANYWHERE. in their countries. And attempt to build a church? Good luck with that! Tolerant my ass!

We are witnessing evil being called good, and good being called evil EVERY DAY.

Planned parenthood ring a bell? The President of Planned Parenthood stood before the world yesterday and would have us believe we didn’t hear what we heard on the tapes! Madness.

        2 Timothy 3:2-5

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
        Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

And do you think Russia’s actions yesterday were random?

Not in the least. They are a Major player in the end of days scenario. (Read Ezekiel chapter 38)

My friend, you can find peace, wisdom, guidance, forgiveness, and yes – HOPE! In the Bible.

          Hi Gary:

An English gentleman will use tongues to pick up sugar cubes for his tea even if he is alone. For a principle he believes in. Similarly, we respect human beings and their freedom of opinion as a principle. Islam is an opinion, as Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism etc. We respect the right of human beings to have an opinion. What we do not have to do is silence ourselves on the characteristics of those opinions. Religions are violent, they have always been. Islam is a religion, therefore Islam is violent. The fact that in the Quran Mohammed has peppered in many suras peaceful statements does not cancel the fact that Quran has been and is used to justify violence. And we cannot single out the peaceful suras of Quran to declare the entire book peaceful, because that is not what it is. But this applies to the Bible as well. Do not single out the good statements to judge the entire book! As regards the persecution of the Christians in Middle East, again, we have to use our principles: denounce them, but equally denounce the persecutions of Shias, Yazidis etc.. And about our respect of the right of Muslims in our countries, again, we do that because we believe in our principles. The fact that Muslims do not respect other peoples’ freedom of opinion is not enough to vilify the application of our principles in our lands.

          Emilio De Luigi:

‘Islam is an opinion, as Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism etc’

Correction: religious belief is a spiritual conviction, not a mere opinion which can change with every wind that blows. In fact, your statement that religion is an opinion is just that – an opinion, not based in fact. Nobody is prepared to be imprisoned without trial, tortured, starved and put to death (as Christians are today) for an ‘opinion’. Are you?

‘Religions are violent, they have always been. Islam is a religion, therefore Islam is violent.’

A perfect example of a circular argument, using your premise to prove your point. Human beings are prone to all kinds of sins, including violence, and some ideologies promote violence, including Fascism, Communism and Islam – which is in reality a political ideology cunningly disguised as a religion. Like all totalitarian ideologies it brings out the worst in those who are predisposed to envy, hatred of the ‘other’ and a desire for control.

‘And we cannot single out the peaceful suras of Quran to declare the entire book peaceful, because that is not what it is. But this applies to the Bible as well. Do not single out the good statements to judge the entire book!’

Another sweeping statement without evidence. Please give examples to back up your claim that ‘this applies to the Bible as well’.

        Dragaozao,
Weird and cruel world to be sure, especially in the ME for Christians. It is disgusting what is happening to Christians.

For the answer of “why” to all this, I believe we need to look at academia’s highly negative attitude toward Christians. This attitude was completely passed on to B.O. and his cohorts. B.O. is closer to being a communist (like his family and friends) than he is a Christian. The same can be said of a high percentage of academia these days. Academia was a home for the old steadfast hardline communists 50 years ago and they have grown in numbers since. Communists have always seen Christians as their mortal enemy. Now the new Communists aka Marxists run academia. This same negative attitude toward Christians has passed on to elementary and secondary schools as well and throughout government in general. Europe is well ahead of the US on this.

The Main Stream Media (MSM) is a creature of academia and totally Marxist. FOX Rino is a mixed bag but generally goes along. The Pope is a Christian Marxist (if there can be such a thing). Everything we see and hear is almost completely filtered through the minds of Western Marxists.

Western hard core Marxists (Communists) see Muslims as their friends who can wipe out Christians once and for all. This is happening while Putin has moderated Russia’s attitude toward Christians. The US and the West are backing unknown radical Muslims as part of the Arab Spring, now against Assad. Our Allies in Syria may be allies of ISIS for all we know. Assad has always been moderate with ME Christians. Our Muslim Syrian allies do not respect Christians and kill or abuse them on sight. The MSM yawns. We are kept in the dark. Even the Pope is quiet.

Re: “Pope Francis is not listening.”
          ———————————————-
Anyone can go on BBC, including the Pope. BBC covers the news in Spanish.
Pope Francis EXPLICITLY claims there is no issue specifically with Sharia, jihad or Islam. He claims the “real problem” in Syria is lack of social and economic opportunities.

Well, that is completely true for five year olds and fifteen year olds. They want to avoid ( flee ) fear and death. But not for the many military age Syrian males who invade Europe shouting in the Black Speech their war cry Allhahu Akbar!
In the coming several years, Pope Francis and everyone else will get to see what happens when a large new wave of aggressive Muslim males start up their cultural jihad in Europe.
We’ll see what happens in practice. Cultural jihad is really hitting Europe, where the Pope lives. He can avoid reading the news all he wants, but the news is the news.
This pope is a Koran kisser, an avowed co-religionist of the Muslims, which means he feels deep spiritual affinity with the Salafists and Wahabi, and with the Shia imams in Iran.

And by his statement he seems to care more for the welfare of the jihadi fighters in Syria ( since they need “economic opportunities” ) than he does for the Christians ( or Kurds and Yazidis ) in that region. He is ignoring massive Islamic civil war in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq!

This pope has a religious, political, and social platform in which Sharia and jihad are not of major importance. He’s a socialist reformer, not someone who can or will face the dire Islamic threat that wants to eat the face off Europe and drive Europe into submission. This is all well-established.

But an intelligent fifteen year old can quickly figure out what is really happening in Europe, and why Europe is in clear and present danger. If I were a fifteen year old living in Europe, I would be greatly afraid and I would be deeply angry for the cultural betrayal of western civilization by the Vatican and by Pope Francis.

I can really see a new generation of Europeans – and of young people everywhere – leaving or abandoning the Roman Catholic Church. If I was a kid wanting to be or stay Christian, I’ probably go with an anti-Islam Protestant like Franklin Graham.

ISLAM IS NOT A RELIGION OF PEACE
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3o27hCRkJd4
Franklin Graham, Robert Spencer, Reza Aslan, 9/11 mother, Anjem Choudhary

My political and social perspective is that that this Pope becomes largely irrelevant to Europe and to socially aware ( jihad-aware ) young people. And Christians in general. Because he refuses to see or address the dominating critical issue of this generation. It’s a huge fail. And, I again insist, a betrayal of all western civilization.

Islam is an existential threat to Western civilization and Christianity so the Pope’s calling for the West to take in millions of Muslim refugees is going to cause harm to Christians in the West. This Pope is a poor sheppard of his flock. Muslims are engaged in an immigration jihad against the West and Obama and the Pope are aiding them.

Very similar words were used by then Cardinal Bergoglio on the occasion of Pope Benedict’s famous speech in Regensberg. It would be nice if Pope Francis would listen to Bagnasco, who seems to be one of the few bishops who are getting it right. Italians are fed up of muslim immigrants destroying the infrastructure of their country. A huge number of them demonstrated against this mass immigration recently in Milan. Only if there is some clear teaching and action from Rome will other bishops take notice. While ¨Pope Francis sits on the chair of Peter, nothing of the sort will happen. He seems to be stuck in his own wrongheaded ideas and no one can convince him that he is wrong.

The Bishop is correct. There IS an odd silence about global persecution of Christians at the hands of muslims. We see headlines here and there, but no true outrage. Instead, we extend our generous hands to the very people who persecute our Christians in the Middle East. Where are the bloodied bodies of Christian toddlers washed up on the beach? They don’t even make it to the beach. They were bullied out of the migration, or crucified or displaced before even getting the chance to set foot on the beach.

“Why, we ask the western world, why not raise one’s voice over so much ferocity and injustice?”

Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco is a conservative who publicly has condemned progressive agendas of pro-abortion and same-sex marriage. In view of his adamant refusal to be politically correct, his priority of concern for the persecution of Christians does not comply with the Vatican’s singular global narrative of climate change. At the conclave which ultimately elected Pope Francis, Bagnasco had been considered to be one of a few likely candidates that would be chosen. That did not happen. Aware that Pope Francis had rich opportunities — speeches before Congress and the UN — to focus world attention on the Christian genocide occurring around the world at the hands of devout Muslims, surely Bagnasco felt betrayed when Pope Francis specifically did not mention the persecution of Christians, much less their brutal deaths.

The West will do nothing, because Western leaders are unwilling to speak out officially against Islam; Pope Francis joins them in public silence. American Bishops, as Robert Spencer states, are indeed “desperately corrupt and compromised,” but they are not alone. The entire Vatican hierarchy has been contaminated by the same disease of “dialogue” and diplomacy that infects the Obama administration. Meanwhile, Christian blood continues to flow, an atrocity that manages to escape the attention of the world’s political and religious leaders, as well as that of the mainstream media.

    ——————————
The world does raise many such voices. I myself did a big round of outreach for the Chibok girls abducted in Nigeria last year. Turns out these girls abducted by Boko Haram ( now Islamic State ) come from Christian families.
The slaughter of Nigerians and Christian Nigerians is now DIRECTLY related to Islamic State Syria. It’s all part of an overall approach.

Patriarch Gregory is not paying attention to social media. And it sounds as tho he is unaware that open criticism of Islam will get a Catholic priest a court trial in Ireland. And that street protests against Muslims in Europe are fiercely opposed. And that the good guys are having a really hard time in the universities. Free speech is having a terrible terrible time right now. Things look bad overall.

The answer is quite simple. There is a classical American political saying to invoke here.
    “Don’t mourn, ORGANIZE!”

Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco and Catholic Patriach Geogory III, know the truth about the jihadist brutality and seem to be wide awake, and speak alert to the facts, church bells should ring…nationwide.

So many good and informative posts here. I see Obama at the head of a politically correct group via other elitists in the US to dumb down the masses to their ” correct” thinking. I believe that what is going on is being allowed to go on as this is the end of times as some posts clearly indicate with which I fully agree.

A Muslim POTUS who does not lift a finger to help Christians suffering persecution, and a Puppet Pope who doesn’t mention Jesus Christ once in his speeches, are the perfect bedfellows to bring in the New World Order. From what I read, this is being fast-tracked by this unholy alliance of Pope and Potentate.

      I quote:

‘To create a crisis that enables their new global order to be implemented, McGuire believes the elites have been stoking and manipulating the rise of worldwide Islam. The Wahhabi sect, which is the most militant branch of Sunni Islam, is heavily financed by Saudi Arabia through its vast oil reserves, discovered near the Persian Gulf in 1939. The al-Saud dynasty later made a deal with the Rockefeller oil companies and in order for the dynasty to keep its power it had to agree to finance Wahhabism, McGuire said.

Iran’s 1979 Islamic revolution, created the rebirth of a militant Shia movement. The growth of both sects of militant Islam are connected to U.S., European, Russian and American oil interests, McGuire said.“Since the late 1970s when Brzezinski, co-founder of the Trilateral Commission, was helping train Osama bin Laden, the hands of the globalists have been all over the growth of militant Islam,” he said. “It appears Islam is being used as a destabilizing force in both Europe and the United States designed to breakdown a cohesive Judeo-Christian culture.”’

There is a line in the movie Argo. “if you want to sell a lie sell it to hollywood.” So maybe we can find a producer with integrity and get tinsle town to start selling facts…..to the masses instead of violence and political correctness.
