But deep down, they really, really want peace!
“2 American yeshiva students hurt in Hebron firebombing,” Times of Israel, September 3, 2015:
Five American yeshiva students were attacked by Palestinians in Hebron after they got lost in the West Bank city on Thursday.
Two of the students, residents of Brooklyn, NY were lightly-to-moderately injured in the riot that ensued after they accidentally entered the southern part of the predominantly Palestinian city, while en route to the Cave of the Patriarchs.
Palestinian assailants firebombed their car, setting it alight, according to the Walla news website.
The group was whisked away by a local, who let them hide in his house until Israel security forces arrived to extract them.
The two injured ultra-Orthodox students were evacuated for medical treatment.
“I heard shouts outside, I left my house and saw the five Jews frantically leaving their car, which was attacked by stones,” Faiz Abu Hamadiah, 51, told the NRG news site. “They were very anxious, one was injured and bleeding from his face. I reassured down. I told them in Hebrew that it will be okay, I gave them water, and I helped the injured man.
“I told them they were safe in my house. Immediately afterward they called the police, and I sent teenagers to call the army to take them to the checkpoint.
“I did the right thing,” he added, dismissing concerns of being branded a “collaborator” with Israel by his neighbors. “The people that threw stones at them and torched their car did a bad thing. We need to live here together.”…

I bet this is not shown on the front pages of newspapers around the world.

Yet thousands of Palestinians come to israeli hospitals for treatment annually. Including the head of Hamas.

Faiz Abu Hamadiah collaborated with decency. No wonder he attracted opprobrium from the “Palestinians”.

Yes. He appears to have allowed his humanity to override the Islam Program.
He will be lucky if his coreligionists allow him to survive.

This should impress those BDS supporting, Palestine loving, Brooklyn College students who chanted, “Free, free, Palestine from the river to the sea” about how agressive and mean those Jewish students can be. Sarc.
To those immature BC students: If these Palestinians had their finger on a button that would nuke Brooklyn, and knew they could get away with it, would they push it? Would Israel? Think about it.

Mr Hamadiah did the right thing by offering help. Let’s not forget there are decent Arab people. But I fear he will suffer now from less hospitable neighbours.
Westman says
Yes, Faiz Abu Hamadia is a Muslim we would appreciate as a next door neighbor. If the majority were like him there would be no Daesh, Hamas, or Hezbollah. He is the good Samaritan.
However, it should not be forgotten that there is a different attitude in young men forcing their way to Germany:

Israel should offer him sanctuary, otherwise he and his family will be living in fear of retribution from these wild animals. (Sorry, didn’t mean to insult wild animals).

Who was denying that ‘No Go Zones’ exist? It wasn’t that long ago the media heaped criticism on anyone that asserted that ‘No Go Zones’ existed. What more evidence does one need than this story?

The arab gentleman was a decent man. Good for him. He’ll be excoriated for his kindness and decency by arabs. As for the articles wording….”The two injured ultra-Orthodox students were evacuated for medical treatment”.
What do they mean by ‘ultra-orthodox’?? A bunch of religious young guys, driving in a car to visit and pray at the second holiest site in all Judaism, marat hamachpela, and they are automatically ‘ultra-orthodox’?? B.S. The skewing of course goes on, and of course, mass media press would never mention that it is an abomination for ‘arabs’ to firebomb a car with people inside. I mean that would reaaaallllly be going to far for the press. I mean, since the arabs represent the …. oppressed.
Shouldn’t they be labeled…. ultra fascist?
mgoldberg says
Just to detail why the arab will be excoriated. http://blog.unwatch.org/index.php/2015/09/01/images-of-unrwa-incitement-to-antisemitism-violence/.
There, UN Watch, which details the bigotry, hatred and absurdity of the UN and it’s committes in relation to Israel, shows the UNRWA’s ‘teachers’ who have vicious jew hating blog sites each with their own venal cartoons and comments. That…. is why the arab man, will be excoriated for his ordinary decency.
On second though……I could imagine some arab media using the arab man’s kindness….. in reverse to show how arabs are ALWAYS kind, and ALWAYS help jews, who are ALWAYS murdering arab babies……
Baucent says
Think again, “Ultra Orthodox” could simply be describing their clothing and appearance, which if was the black coats and distinctive hats, may have been the reason a crowd of Arabs quickly picked them as Jews so quickly.
msgoldberg says
‘ultra orthodox’ is vastly overused. It might be they had white shirts and fedora hats, which describes any observant jewish yeshivahish guys from brooklyn. But ‘ultra orthodox?’ Why throw that in? It was 5 college aged guys being assaulted and their car firebombed- that’s what was important. It’s kind of like the way the bias is automatically applied when discussing the area, period. Here’s an example:
“Hebron, home to the Cave of the Patriarchs pilgrimage site, holy to both Jews and Muslims, is divided between a small population of settlers and a larger population of Palestinians, who control most of the city.”
1.Marat the tomb of the patriachs i holy to jews as it was purchased by Abraham for all his descendants- It was never holy except as to refuse any other faith the right to claim they have validity, so they prevented jews from using it for 700 yrs. 2. The muslims said they are the only real religion, so everyone else can’t live there with them, Unlike the jews. And 3. Hebron, was given 98% to moslems and instead of them dancing joyfully, they despise any and all others who dare live there. There is no freedom for non muslims in the muslim mind. Hence the fire bombing of a car o f 5 college guys…. who the paper just has to remind the world that they’re not like…us, but rather ‘ultra orthodox’
Rebecca says
Because they ARE ultra orthodox.
I don’t see what the prob is with calling them ultra orthodox. Jews who are ultra orthodox are different than muslims who are “ultra”.
Btw- I consider myself ultra orthodox (and I’m not hasidic)
and I’m very NORMAL
b.C.terry says
Well done to the Palestinian who took them despite his being labeled a collaborator.
His neighbours were pissed off because the students escaped the area with their lives.
A pox on all their bloodthirsty hateful houses.
I hope the man who helped them will not suffer any further consequences.
Howard Pond says
Talk show host, Michael Medved mentioned this event on his radio show as an example of a Palestinian with a sense of decency.
