Australia: Police get permission from mosque leaders to raid mosque in investigation of jihad murder

Oct 4, 2015 11:19 am By Robert Spencer

“New South Wales state police said the mosque in the western Sydney suburb of Parramatta – close to the scene of the double shooting on Friday afternoon – was raided with the consent of religious leaders.” Do police obtain the consent of drug kingpins before raiding drug dens? And what if the religious leaders had declined to give consent to the raiding of the mosque? Would police have left the mosque alone?

POLICE-AUSTRALIA

“Sydney mosque raided after Australia ‘terrorism-linked’ shooting by 15-year-old,” Agence France-Presse, October 4, 2015 (thanks to Kenneth):

An Australian mosque reportedly visited by a 15-year-old boy before he shot dead a civilian police employee in an “act of terrorism” has been raided, police said on Sunday.

New South Wales state police said the mosque in the western Sydney suburb of Parramatta – close to the scene of the double shooting on Friday afternoon – was raided with the consent of religious leaders.

“NSW Police yesterday executed a warrant at a mosque in Parramatta,” police said in a statement Sunday.

“The warrant was undertaken by arrangement with leadership at the mosque who provided full assistance to police at all times.”

The 15-year-old gunman, who killed finance worker Curtis Cheng at close range outside the police force’s headquarters before he was shot dead by officers, visited the mosque before the shooting, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

Investigators have yet to establish why the teenager — who has no criminal history — targeted 58-year-old Cheng, although Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said on Saturday the attack “appears to have been an act of terrorism”.

Police did not provide further details about the mosque raid. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that investigators were searching for the boy’s belongings but had left empty-handed….

“raided with the consent of religious leaders”
I don’t think the English language can take much more abuse of this sort.

NSW Police, please: next time just have the mosque inspect themselves and report back.

Aussies tend to be a polite people, so asking permission of the Imam to search the mosque in a murder investigation makes sense. The murder investigation will go accordingly, but at least it will be a polite one.

I don’t think it could be named even as “raid.” They politely asked for a visit. Mosques frequently allow even non- believers to visit. And doubtless that “raid” was done with full respect of the place, including removing of shoes by police officers (and probably no weapons), and on top of all with a guide who assisted them all the time while taking notes of any improper reaction so Muslims can use it next for any “islamophobia” charges.

Unfortunately, Randy, Donald Trump supported Muslims crushing freedom of speech over brave Americans standing up for it–whom he vilified:

“I watched Pam earlier, and it really looks like she’s just taunting everybody. What is she doing drawing Muhammad? I mean it’s disgusting. Isn’t there something else they could be doing? Drawing Muhammad?…They can’t do something else? They have to be in the middle of Texas doing something on Muhammad and insulting everybody? What is she doing? Why is she doing it? It’s probably very risky for her — I don’t know, maybe she likes risk? But what the hell is she doing?”

  7. Westman says

    Oct 4, 2015 at 12:29 pm

Raiding this mosque looks more like a “look, we’re doing something and this mosque is innocent” PR stunt than any real attempt to find the source of terrorist’s motivation. A real investigation would require planting operatives in the Friday sermons to determine what the mosque is teaching, and, if teaching militancy, shutting it down.

Asking for permission to raid is ridiculous unless it was simply to inform the public that the mosque had no part in the murder – before enough facts are known. We shouldn’t be surprised if the Iman and police cooked up the raid together.

Just like that convert jihadi father of 5 who ran a pro-jihadist bookstore with terrorist links who was let off last week by the Australian prosecutor despite being in possession of firearms, pepper spray, an ISIS flag, and DVD videos of ISIS atrocities because he was of “good ilk”, one can bet that this 5th column Islamic complex was full of “good ilk” citizens too! Do the police understand that there are few snitches in these communities as they face certain death? They raise “omerta” to a level the biggest capo in Salerno can only dream of…
What is it going to take, PM Turnbull, to realize that burying one’s head in the sand only makes your ass a bigger target?

All cowardly leaders from the Axis of EVIL US,Can, West EU, ANZ and papa included MUST quit enabling jihad terror by dealing with them like common criminals in all fairness. They must be ready to face all protests, misinformation, slander, rapes, terror and so on instead of molly coddling with Islam and inviting the wrath/curse of the indigenous people. How can leaders be racists and bigoted and hate enablers? No wonder democracy is an useful tool to further the cause of devil.

How has Australia become such a dhimmi country? I remember in the nineties the only immigrants to Oz where the vietnamese boat people, what possible president could there be for Muslims to immigrate there other than islamizing it, simply because it’s another democratic country. The closest Muslim country is to Australia is Indonesia, so how has it become such a haven for Arabs and Pakistanis. Surely if they use the same tired excuses they use to immigrate (many illegally) to Europe, it shouldn’t make sense. Australia is seperated from the Euro-asian land masses by thousands of miles of Ocean, so surely the Australian government should smell a rat when arabs and pakistanis

The case of the Vietnamese illustrates a general truth about refugees.
The Vietnamese that came to Australia were those from South Vietnam but only
after they, by way of American withdrawal, lost the war.
If the South had won, Australia would have received refugees from North Vietnam.
Point is, there is nothing intrinsically good or bad about refugees in general -what
you get is the losing side. And this is what we have with Muslim refugees. We get
whoever is on the losing side at some point in a conflict. But whatever side they are on they are not on our side.

      • Donovan Nuera says

        Oct 4, 2015 at 4:51 pm

If the South Vietnamese were victorious, the North Vietnamese, except for the hard-core communists, would have stayed and enjoyed the fruits of a democratic/capitalistic society( as they are realizing now with increased trade from the US and more prosperity). The hard-core NVA and VC would have crept back to China or Russia as they would not have wanted to go to another democratic country by boat or by other means. What reason did this jihadist’s family move from Shia Iran? Iran is not under any siege. If it was so oppressive, why did his family keep to oppressive Shia tradition when coming to a new freer country. They are economic and migratory jihadists whose purpose was to overpopulate free lands and set up beachheads while they collect the jizya indirectly via welfare payments. The betrayed South Vietnamese immigrants, many of whom endured “reeducation camps” have only been good neighbors whose kids have achieved the American dream and are great citizens; it’s not like they kill or want to behead fellow Southern Californians . ” All immigrants are the same” is a straw man argument.

        • Not I said the sparrow says

          Oct 4, 2015 at 5:50 pm

It is not possible to make an a priori strawman argument.
I could only make a straw man argument in response to something that you might have put up which obviously was not the case.
But I imagine that at least straw men do not bleed.
I do admit I was generalising. I wouldn’t think of the Vietnamese as jihadists but bleeding heart arguments about how they make wonderful citizens…I’m sure they can but really…and if you like there was the one from Melbourne about 10 years hung for drugs in Singapore after strolling through Changi with stuff in his pockets. So what. I was suggesting we shouldn’t in general be so bleeding hearted about them. A refugee is not a holy relic but a human being to be treated on his or her merits.

… come to settle their based on whatever deception. It’s astonishing that a country that is so strict about who it allows in (such as anyone with so much as a criminal record can’t even go there on holiday) allows massive numbers of Muslims to live there, and doesn’t have a strict monitoring and deportation mandate considering the global Islamic threat. Are the Auzzie government so lax?

The mosque Imam said the usual Nothing to do with us…law abiding Aussie citizens…no interest in Jihad.
Now we find out that the mosque hosted Hisb Ut Tharir. The 15 yo listened to the talk and then the little co ward went off and shot a complete stranger in the back, in the back of the head.
Hisb Ut Tharir is a procribed terrorist organization in other countries but not in Australia. They have refused to divulge the content of the talk they gave at the Mosque.
The new Prime Minister (smiling Uncle Malcolm), like the mosque Imam and Hisb Ut Tharir, is all for peace and harmony within the community -remember we are all Australians together: Advance Australia Fair.
The above is only what I’ve read in the newspapers so the details might get argued about in the nect few days.

    Oct 4, 2015 at 10:04 pm

Australian politicians and police have been in denial about radicalisation happening in mosques. We are continually fed the line that self radicalisation takes place online. Of course this raid was probably a courtesy visit to the mosque, to let the Imams know how important Islam is for all Australians and to remind them how much they contribute to society and that Islam is not to blame. Perhaps it was just an appeasement visit so the hundreds of thousands of angry Aussies screaming for mosque closures can be reassured that police raids have proven fruitless and therefore mosques should continue to proliferate and spread peace. Oh, we also do have some terrible reporters here who badly word articles and put a friendly spin on serious issues. ABC is a government funded broadcasting network. They were careful to point out immediately after Curtis Cheng’s brutal murder, that “this is not a terrorist event”. Ha! It’s not helpful when politicians state that their thoughts are with the family of the 15 year old alleged shooter. Alleged???? The shithead was captured on film waving his handgun around and Allahu akbar-ing while dancing like a ballerina in the street. Why are our thoughts with his family and not the family of the murdered man? Got to keep those Muslims happy.

The majority of Police officers understand the threat we face. Like the rest of the Australian community they suffer under the Politically Correct apologists that lead this country. I truly believe that the reason Abbott was ‘rolled’ is due to the harder line he took on islam. It’s hard to make sense of what is happening worldwide with this islamic cancer and the speed in which it is happening enabled by western leaders appearing to condone and support. An educated man must surmise that this is part of a plan such is the level of enabling being carried out by our leaders. Nazism was at last confronted and defeated and at some stage in the near future the world will again turn to fury and unspeakable acts to cleanse our planet of another evil ideology. That time is quite a way off given the amount of comments and demonstrations by the leftist apologists who clearly have not a clue what awaits them if islam continues on unchecked.

Wouldn’t it be nice if, during the search, when the mosque denizens weren’t looking, a few ‘bugs’ were discreetly deposited in suitable locations….?

If *I* were the NSW police, I’d have taken sniffer dogs along on the visit. In fact, I’d have had a chat to the army’s bomb squad beforehand. and borrowed a couple of their Explosive Detection Dogs. And *every single inch* of the entire mosque, its grounds, associated premises and every vehicle belonging to every person associated with the mosque in *any* official or semi-official capacity would have been given a going-over by said dogs. Just in case.

Drug detection dogs, explosives detection dogs, *and* – just for fun – cadaver dogs.

I wonder what would be found if a random set of mosques, anywhere in the western world, were given a *thorough* going-over, with the assistance of dogs such as those I have just described?
