“France is to withdraw the French nationality from five “terrorists” the government announced on Tuesday as it continues to crackdown on homegrown jihadists.” This is just common sense. All Western governments should be doing the same thing.
“France to strip five ‘terrorists’ of nationality,” The Local, October 6, 2015:
France is to withdraw the French nationality from five “terrorists” the government announced on Tuesday as it continues to crackdown on homegrown jihadists.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said Tuesday he had requested that five “terrorists” be stripped of their nationality.
“I asked the prime minister to strip five terrorists of their nationality,” Cazeneuve told the National Assembly.
French law only allows nationality to be stripped from a citizen who holds a second passport.
Last month a Moroccan-born jihadist was stripped of his French nationality and sent back to his country of birth because he posed a serious threat to national security according to the government.
Convicted terrorist Ahmed Sahnouni El Yaacoubi was expelled from France and deported to Morocco, France Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve confirmed.
Born in Casablanca in 1970, the convicted terrorist was sentence in March 2013 to seven years in prison for organizing a recruitment network for jihadists.
But while in prison Ahmed Sahnouni remained active, radicalizing several fellow prisoners, a source told the Huffington Post Maghreb.
In May 2014, the detainee’s French passport was taken away, the first such move on the part of French authorities since 2007.
“Given the particularly serious threat posed by having this individual on French soil” the interior minister decided to initiate expulsion proceedings against him, French authorities said in a statement.
Seventeen people with links to terrorism have been expelled from France since the beginning of the year, the statement concluded….

Great move, France. Though the problem is letting the people into your country in the first place. How about saving yourself some trouble and money by just saying “no”.

“France to withdraw French nationality from five jihad terrorists”
Luckily for the Counter-Jihad Softies, the only Muslims we need to worry about are the Terrorists we know After the Fact.

Good – may they be the first of many.

The best underpinning of a good immigration system is an excellent deportation system.
But what about the European Court for Human Rights?
It seems to be able to stop the UK doing anything about even the vilest of immigrant crims.
‘Right to a family life’ seems the most used ‘get out of jail’ card.
Linde Barrera says
To Rob- You bring up an interesting detail that ‘Right to a Family Life’ is used in Great Britain to keep the jihadists from being deported. Ok, then why can’t Great Britain wise up and make a new law, proclaiming that any person convicted of the crime of Jihad where innocent people were murdered or attempted to be murdered, be deported along with their immediate family? And to be totally fair to the incoming immigrants, that they are explained this new law in their native language by a qualified, paid and loyal-to-Great Britain translator who works for the British government, so that they know from the get-go what their new government and nation expects of them, and will do to them. I even have a slogan that the British government can use, and I won’t copyright it: “The family of the convicted jihadist will be deported along with their convicted jihadist family member.” It should be signed by every member of Parliament and displayed wherever immigrants are taken in for processing. Sounds like a fair plan to me. ?

At that rate they will need a millennium.

shutdown mosques start repatriation that is the only longterm solution
Angemon says
The problem, alyn21, is that there are many French muslims who hold no citizenship other than French.

Don’t allow muslims to go to the hajj in Saudi Arabia unless they also obtain Saudi nationality. Then don’t allow them back.

For the ones that don’t have another nationality, and for the maintenance of the convention against statelessness, I suggest that they sacrifice one of their minor overseas territories, such as Clipperton Island, by making it into the Islamic Republic of Clippertonia. Citizenship would be AUTOMATIC upon convinction by any French court of a terrorism-related offence. International agreements could be arrived at to arrange for other countries’ convictions for terrorism-related offences to also qualify for automatic citizenship.
The Islamic Republic of Clippertonia would be under military occupation of France, and all citizens would be confined to a prison camp on-premises. The Islamic Republic of Clippertonia’s constitution has only two articles, one calling for the liberation of Clipperton from France and the other allowing France to issue passports on its behalf (to make it easier to deport citizens to the Republic).
Good luck to the new citizens!

We refuse to lock our borders but we all see the wisdom in locking our front doors and cars at night. I don’t know why we lose our collective minds when we’re talking about our national property and not just our own personal stuff. It’s the same concept, just to a different degree. Locking up our house and cars? Makes sense. Locking up our country? Racist.

Spot on Paladin.
I once had a conversation with a friend who said I was bigoted about this kind of thing. I argued “well, if you were the bouncer to a party, and you found that one group in particular always caused mayhem, had a track record of this and showed no signs of letting up, wouldn’t you just prevent them from entering in the first place?” At the end of the day, people at a party (i.e. people living in a country) want to have fun and get on with their business without other people causing trouble.
It’s just common sense not to let them in; they’ve ruined their reputation in the first place so let them redeem themselves. Until then, don’t let them in for security reasons.

“Well, if you were the bouncer at a party…”.
Nice analogy.
Committed to memory and will use in future as required.

Islam’s unique doctrine of jihad means that no Muslim can give allegiance to a liberal and democratic country, since Sharia law favors enslavement and elimination of free speech.

If a ll muslims in France had a second nationality, so that they could all be deported that would be great.

Five they got thousands in France

If they are not dual citizens they should be deported to the Islamic State. About time and every other Western country should follow suit and also stop [preventing them from leaving for IS. Let them go, it is the best and most efficient way to rid your country of the most radical element. Let em go and don’t let them return – PERIOD!!!

It’s a start.
Finally France had built up the courage to take this totally sensible action against a jihadist. This should be standard procedure in all western countries dealing with such cases.
Canada recently announced this policy, now France has started it. Hopefully other western countries will follow.
This needs to be standard practice in all western nations.
Mark A says
Good first step. Now France needs to prevent all jihadis who have left France to fight with ISIS or any other similar outfit from returning to France.
