Iran’s long-range missile test may violate nuke deal

Oct 13, 2015 8:24 am By Robert Spencer

Once again the mullahs seem eager to show their contempt for Barack Obama and absolute indifference to any possible consequences of their actions. And they have good reason for that indifference, since there is no chance that any of the powers that are privy to the nuclear deal will call them to account for this.

Emad missile Iran

“Iran Tests Long-Range Missile, Possibly Violating Nuclear Accord,” by Thomas Erdbrink, New York Times, October 11, 2015:

TEHRAN — Iran tested a new guided long-range ballistic missile on Sunday, hours before Parliament, in a rowdy session, approved the generalities of the nuclear agreement reached in July between Iran and world powers, the state news agency IRNA reported.

The missile launch may have violated the terms of the agreement, reached in Vienna with six world powers. According to some readings of the deal, it placed restrictions on Iran’s ambitious missile program.

Experts have been debating the interpretation of a United Nations Security Council resolution, adopted a few days after the accord was agreed upon, that bars Iran from developing missiles “designed to carry nuclear warheads.”

Hard-line Iranian officials had for months been demanding new missile tests, a common practice before the negotiations over the country’s nuclear program began in 2013.

The missile — named Emad, or pillar — is a step up from Iran’s Shahab-3 missiles because it can be guided toward its target, the Iranian defense minister, Hossein Dehghan, told the semiofficial Fars news agency. In recent decades, with Iran’s air force plagued by economic sanctions and other restrictions, the country has invested heavily in its nuclear program and has produced missiles that can reach as far as Europe.

“We don’t seek permission from anyone to strengthen our defense and missile capabilities,” Mr. Dehghan said….

Relax Iran is just a — “JV Team”
Obama with the active help of NPR & Huff Po will just redefine truth to fit his narrative.
Remember how they reassured everyone that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt was a new and improved smiley faced version of the much maligned old MB and all the elitist Leftists swooned while wagging their disapproving fingers at us with smug delight.

It is clear than the Persians want war. Any calculation that factors in fear of death among them is badly mistaken. It’s a false assumption that forgets that the prophecy they go by calls for a conflagration followed by the Twelfth Imam rising up from the well, and then all the dead Sunni Moslems ascending to Jannat Islamo-Porno Heaven to enjoy the denouement.

As noted above, first we got the Mo-Bro-Hood as a moderate apolitical organization, and now we’re being fed the Persians as self-interested negotiating partners with whom we can find a common ground for peace. It would seem that Barack Hussein, our current president, Hillary, who began the negotiations of this deal and our next president, along with John do not learn from their mistakes. They just keep repeating them, and on a larger scale.

      Farmer,

I’m confused about the Imam(12th) from the well rising and the Sunnis going to the orgy in the sky since Persians are typically Shiites. I think that may have been one of those unconscious substitutions but it did create a question in my mind. The Sunnis consider the Shia to be takfir and destined for hell. I really don’t know the Shiite belief of what happens to Sunnis in the end times. Is it the same?

        Precisely. But

The one thing we can be sure of is that the Sunnis AND Shiites BOTH cannot be right – yet each feels they are the one true way. Seeing that there is significant ambiguity in how to interpret Islam, along with all the inaccuracies, the only sensible conclusion is that it did not come from God.

Islamic reasoning spirals onto itself and never accepts anything outside itself, and thus can never come to the correct conclusions. The first lie Muslims are taught is that the Quran ( sira, sunna, hadiths ) is all they need to know – how do they know that – the Quran says so.

This eternal orgy business could only appeal to the uneducated animalistic minds that wallow in Islam Ideology without any critical thinking.

It would get very boring, yet this clown holds it up as of it were some crowning achievement, equaling the greatest art, science, and literature. If Islam ruled the world it would soon look like the trails of garbage left by the “syrian refugees”.

      Please don’t call them ‘Persians’,
Persia under Cyrus II (they pronounce ‘kurush’)
was a great and honorable nation,
      until ravaged by mozombs.

Nowrooz is not a ‘moslem’ celebration.

Well of course they have contempt for Obama. He’s a sunni moslem and they are shi’ite moslems.

As for what they may or may not do, remember that the leadership there puts enormous amount of effort on a daily basis to block out reality and dwell in the fantasy world of their religion. Never underestimate the power of human delusion. They could do just about anything in a heated moment of religious fervor — just like all those allah ahkbar screeching suicide bombers.

What the f***? All that big deal about the big deal and you can’t tell when it’s being violated?

Obama will simply say that we are incorrect, and the missiles do not violate the agreement. The media will lap up his words like the sycophants that they are.

And, when Iran attacks the US, Obama will call for “understanding” and do nothing. I guarantee it.

      Hey, I’m sensing a pattern here…

In fact the entire pattern of the Obama administration when faced with criticism, all condensed and summed up in one post. Well done.

Where would Obama be without his mainstream media enablers? Why he’d have been forced out of office a long, long time ago and cooling his heels in jail while the cases against him are developed.

To reiterate the obvious. Which is that Obama, Kerry, and the other naive and gullible politicians of the West for no match at all in negotiations with the sly insidious and deceptive Islamic fiends who now have such great power in this tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran. The travesty of a ‘deal” is a sick and tragic joke. Any thinking person after really looking at this so called “deal” will see that it’s a farce,a hoax and a disaster.

Why did Iran return the hostages taken at the U.S. embassy under Carter when Reagan was elected Presidient? Probably because he made a credible threat and they knew that he was not a flaky idiot like Carter and Obama. What America should be doing in promotion division and dissention within the Iranian factions as the Ayatollahs dead a shaky regime. Some years back it almost collapsed due to student protests against stolen elections. If there had been a decent president in the White House like Reagan, who would have offered real support to the protesters and supported the anti.ayatollas factions, the outcome could have been very different, as the Ayatollahs had planes ready to escape from the country duirng that crisis. However, Obama was president then.

Sadly , yesterday will go down in the history books.Assuming any paper will be left to write on .Every country should have sent a bomb to Iran that agreed to that phony “deal”.Instead an emboldened Iran just got all the verification it needs that nothing will happen , zero retaliation, if the break the “agreement”.
Welcome to the beginning of World War III.Not a welcome thought but a true reality.

Wait a minute. Think about this. If you were them, wouldn’t you hope the deal wouldn’t go through? That the U.S. and its allies wouldn’t actually finalize the deal? So if you were them you’d do everything you could to prevent the finalization? Like threaten going to war with us in the Americas? Like making statements in the media ranging from threats to the U.S. to calling us assholes? After all, if the deal doesn’t come to fruition (because they made us mad), then wouldn’t they be better off, i.e. no deal means they get their money back AND they don’t have to worry about getting their facilities inspected? Or maybe they have been planning this tactic/strategy all along.
