I had to hide behind a car.” Why he turned the gun on himself is unclear, but perhaps it was an attempt to gain the Qur’an’s promise of Paradise for those who “kill and are killed” for Allah (9:111), after authorities were not obliging enough to kill him themselves.
In any case, it points up the need to ban Islamic face coverings, as a security measure. But no one will heed the warning.

Cape Town – A man dressed in a female black Islamic attire fired several shots at the Cape Town train station before turning the gun on himself this afternoon.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said, “The circumstances surrounding the death of an unknown man are being investigated after he allegedly shot himself at platform 24, Cape Town railway station.”
Witnesses said they heard gun shots and ran for cover before seeing a man dressed as a woman with his eyes the only body part they could see….
A witness who didn’t want to be named said, “I was coming from school to catch a train when I heard the gun shots, the only thing I could think of was run. I’m still shaking because I’ve never heard gun shots so close.”
She said she thought it was a robbery but was surprised to see the guy had shot himself.
