This Daily Mail story features a counter-jihadist straight out of Hamas-linked CAIR’s central casting: overweight, unattractive, self-righteously Christian, likely racist (since she assumed a “Caucasian” must not be a Muslim) and full of “misconceptions” about Islam that she learned on Facebook — “misconceptions” that are easily dispelled by the kind, wise Muslims who take her into the mosque and explain to her that the Islamic State is to Islam what the Nazis were to Christianity. Never mind that Nazism was not based on Christian doctrine, and that Christianity contains no mandate to kill Jews or anyone else, while the Islamic State justifies its actions and makes recruits worldwide by showing that its actions accord with Islamic texts and teachings — such abstruse distinctions are way beyond the Daily Mail.
Exploding the media feel-good story, however, is a “selfie” the “Islamophobic” woman took with a Muslim woman inside the mosque. The woman is holding up one index finger: the signal that has come to mean allegiance to the Islamic State:
To those who say that a raised index finger is just a raised index finger, please note that this signal has been known to be a sign of allegiance to the Islamic State for almost as long as there has been an Islamic State. It has been described as its “ubiquitous hand signal.” It strains credulity to think that a Muslim who makes this gesture in October 2015 doesn’t know its significance as a sign of support for the Islamic State.
And so the cartoonishly hateful counter-jihadist in the Daily Mail story comes around to the side of love, harmony and multiculturalism, and ends up taking a selfie with an Islamic State supporter. The anecdotal story of Muslim kindness that is supposed to make us all ashamed to oppose jihad terror instead turns out to be an illumination of Muhammad’s dictum, “War is deceit.” How they must have laughed inside the Noor Islamic Center in Michigan after they pulled this one over on the ever-clueless Daily Mail.
