“In the years prior to civil war breaking out in Syria, that country also experienced its worst drought on record. Farming families moved en masse into urban centers, increasing political unrest and further priming the country for conflict.”
There was a massive movement from rural areas to urban centers in the early 20th century in the U.S. Yet it did not create anything like the Islamic State. Rice’s is a pseudo-analysis that sounds superficially plausible until one realizes that it depends for its appearance of cogency on a proposition she denies: that Islamic texts, and the clerics who teach from them, incite believers to violence. For without the influence of those texts, there would be no necessary reason why the movement to urban centers would have touched off the present conflict we see in Syria.
“Susan Rice Blames Climate Change For Conflict in Syria,” by Charlie Spiering, Breitbart, October 13, 2015:
In her most dramatic speech to date about climate change, National Security Advisor Susan Rice suggests climate change was partially responsible for the conflict in Syria and represents a looming threat to the entire world.
“In the years prior to civil war breaking out in Syria, that country also experienced its worst drought on record,” she said during a political speech at Stanford University. “Farming families moved en masse into urban centers, increasing political unrest and further priming the country for conflict.”
An alarmed Rice warned that climate change was “an advancing menace” that portended doom for the nations around the world.
“Today, we face no greater long-term challenge than climate change, an advancing menace that imperils so many of the other things we hope to achieve,” she said according to advance text of her speech.
Rice echoed many themes promulgated by the Obama administration but ratcheted up the alarmist rhetoric to a fever pitch.
“Consider the impacts—to the global economy and to our shared security—when rising seas begin to swallow nations whole,” she explained while discussing rising sea levels of “as much as 20 feet.”…

Susan Rice was Obama’s and Hillary’s point person who went on several news entertainment shows on September 16, 2012 to spread disinformation about the shameful Benghazi incident in which Obama called back troops who were about to relieve the besieged U.S. consulate and CIA stations in Benghazi.
Rice’s lies are usefully summarized in this WSJ piece: http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2012/11/16/flashback-what-susan-rice-said-about-benghazi/

Where the hell did the climate change go from an ice age to an endless summer?

Yes, I remember that also, we were heading for an ice age in my college years…the writer of the day I think was a guy by the name of Harriington, I read his book. I have no problems about keeping toxins out of water supplies, food, and there are certainly toxins we must avoid cesium, mercury, many that came from the earth funny thing. Nuclear power is much more deadly to humans than cigarettes, and nuclear accidents are extremely destructive, please note high cancer rates are very hight around the Great Lakes that are dotted with nuclear power plants. The earth can be deadly to humans, volcanos, earthquakes, lakes can emit gases from vegetation which are nearly immediately deadly. lightening strikes, tornados not caused by humans. Just look out in to the solar system and know there are climates out there, no humans around, high winds, extremes in temperature, volcanoes.
We know when the earth may expire, that is when the sun dies. Till then we will struggle to survive on earth in good health and protect each other. God willing.
Just watched the Democratic Debate, nearly every candidate is relating the climate change to humans. Not about the immediate concern of nuclear Iran and threats that our coming from the global islamic ummah (world community) and the coming migration of muslim males as refugees. No word about the Christians and Jews being beheaded. No word about protecting free speech, not a word about the threat of crimminalizing speech with jail time those who have information about sharia law that must be known, and the ties of islamic terrorism.

I think there is some legitimacy in citing inadequate resources as a motive for leaving the region although NOT caused by weather climate change. The real cause is overpopulation in an unstable environment of war and the parasitism of Islam. Prayer observance alone subtracts about 2-1/2 hours from a days production in addition to the social climate change caused by war.
Overpopulation has created inadequate reserve margins of resources in Syria to weather the current upheaval. There is a reason why America has subsidies to stimulate over-production of farm produce.
The young men (70%+) of Syria, and ME fake Syrians, are flooding Europe because they know that any Muslim State without saleable resources cannot sustain them and the large families that they will bring to, or create in, Europe; and the fake Syrians know for certain that Daesh can only be a parasite that destroys economies.
Frankly, Susan Rice is barking up the wrong tree. “Maybe” in 75-100 years it will become so arid that nothing grows in the ME; right now the problem is not enough people growing food with efficient methods coupled with too many people that need to eat. War has erased the thin margin.
Muslims have ravaged the ME resources and it’s time, like the Aliens in the film “Independence Day”, to find another host for Islam’s people. Those who have enough money to travel are going to the EU states with the best subsidy to bleed the available resources. They are never returning to the ME except to visit relatives. Pity those left behind.

Locusts swarm in cycles. We’ve got a big cycle right now with
a) 25,000 foreign jihadis in Islamic State and
b) a million migrants moving into Europe this year.
I wrote several times elsewhere that the Islamists will try to EAT Europe. Well, that’s what a locust storm does. When a locust swarm comes thru the crop fields are reduced to stubble and everyone has to run for cover. It’s not pretty.
Europe has to wake up before it is too late. This is about saving a future for Europe, for the children, for civilization. It matters.

Susan Rice has clearly fallen in line with Pope Francis. “Economic factors are largely to blame.” And the many centuries of conflict between Shia and Sunni are not primary, foundational or central.
This doesn’t work on any level. Sunni will fight Shia in any part of the world. Including Australia.
Large scale environmental problems of overshoot and collapse are very real. And also denied – very disastrously – by the Roman Catholic Church.
I have done regional and international outreach for the environmental movement on several occasions. One of the key problems has been the use of [ neonicotinoid ] pesticides which derange bees [ nervous systems ] and other pollinators, partially causing Bee Colony Collapse Disorder and threatening significant agricultural [ sector ] collapse in different regions and continents for some time.
The point is that Susan Rice could have addressed that agricultural crisis.
Rising sea levels are a definite threat to Florida and can be expected to take out Bangladesh. The exhaustion of water tables is another grave problem, and means for example that Iran will collapse.

The problems are biodiversity collapse, surging overpopulation, massive desertification, major depletion of aquifers, and resource wars. Technically the Shia Sunni civil wars are all tribal resource wars and well as medieval theological wars.
The extended university talk I gave as a featured Earth Day speaker back in the early nineties would still be far more helpful than this rubbish. Here’s the key book:
Beyond the Limits: Confronting Global Collapse, Envisioning a Sustainable Future
by Donella H. Meadows (Author), Jorgen Randers (Author), Dennis L. Meadows (Author)
http://www.amazon.com/dp/0930031628/
The fascist Sharia and jihad programs will morph into more explicit resource wars. And the Muslims will target control of all European resources. Population jihad against Europe has severe economic and ecological consequences for the indigenous Europeans. The carpet pilots don’t share or co-operate with anyone. The key ecological problem for Europe is people like Angela Merkel and Tony Blair who let the sociopaths enter and overburden the carrying capacity and infrastructure of Europe.
There will be no sustainable environmental democracy for Europe. Just increasing social strife due to the invasive predator group. Everything has gone the wrong way.

2. Mindset or paradigm that the system — its goals, structure, rules, delays, parameters — arises from
A societal paradigm is an idea, a shared unstated assumption, or a system of thought that is the foundation of complex social structures. Paradigms are very hard to change, but there are no limits to paradigm change. Meadows indicates paradigms might be changed by repeatedly and consistently pointing out anomalies and failures in the current paradigm to those with open minds…
1. Power to transcend paradigms
Transcending paradigms may go beyond challenging fundamental assumptions, into the realm of changing the values and priorities that lead to the assumptions, and being able to choose among value sets at will.
Wellington says
Interesting comment, Kay. Thank you for it.
For the record, I am a skeptic of AGW. I see it as evidence of science being politicized. More to the point, the oceans of the world pump out hundreds of gigatons of CO2 into the atmosphere annually. Man, by contrast, puts out, from all his activities, about 8 gigatons of CO2 yearly and yet we’re to believe that man is causing global warming. Yes, I know that the oceans absorb much of what they emit of CO2 but a good bit they do not, far more than just some 8 gigatons (and never mind what a volcanic explosion emits). Moreover, during the middle of the Paleolithic Era, some 400 million years ago, CO2 levels in the atmosphere were as much as ten times what they are today and yet the earth went through an horrific ice age at the time. I know some have tried to explain this fact as being due to a diminished sun at the time but I have concluded this is more than a stretch of things. It seems that CO2 is actually a coolant in higher levels of the atmosphere (hey, there’s a memo for Al Gore, no?).
Also, I think overpopulation is most likely a myth. The real problems are things like stupid economic policies, wasteful use of resources (here I think we’d be in agreement), inept leadership, especially by the dictators of the world, and way too many wars. Mankind could sustain a population of perhaps 20 billion or more if everything was managed optimally. The overpopulation argument I think is more of an excuse than an argument. In fact, you could take the 6 billion+ people that inhabit the earth today and put them all in Texas and they would have more living space than do the people of Manhattan. Throw in New Mexico and Oklahoma and you could have vast national parks as well. Stunning how many times the received wisdom is exactly wrong.
I mention all this because truth has become a more precious commodity than ever, whether it be about Islam, the environment, economics, the real history of a country like the USA, et al. As truth diminishes in one area, it tends to diminish in others as well. Susan Rice would certainly be a good choice for poster girl confirming this verity.
kay says
Re Wellington: ” I think overpopulation is most likely a myth.”
————————
FALSE. v It’s a scaling problem TODAY. We have already passed the critical threshold. Earth is partially broken. Here I gave the Meadows book. An environmentalist skeptic would have to address that book.
Human population will continue to rise FAST then collapse. Planetary system services will be massively strained, leading to broad desperation and war. Things fall apart for about ten major reasons around 2100 CE.
Here’s the fundamental problem.. Texas can’t hold people unless Texas can provide them WATER, shelter, food, power. That is called Carrying Capacity. See:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrying_capacity
> > > > > >
Agricultural capability on Earth expanded in the last quarter of the 20th century. But now there are many projections of a continuation of the decline in world agricultural capability (and hence carrying capacity) which began in the 1990s.
Most conspicuously, China’s food production is forecast to decline by 37% by the last half of the 21st century, placing a strain on the entire carrying capacity of the world, as China’s population could expand to about 1.5 billion people by the year 2050.[11]
This reduction in China’s agricultural capability (as in other world regions) is largely due to the world water crisis and especially due to mining groundwater beyond sustainable yield, which has been happening in China since the mid-20th century.[12]
Lester Brown of the Earth Policy Institute, has said: “It would take 1.5 Earths to sustain our present level of consumption. Environmentally, the world is in an overshoot mode.”
< < < < < <
Europe has to think mainly in terms of conservation and public safety and husbanding their resources. The WORST thing they could do to their societies – on any and all levels – is to bring in a million Muslims.
The other major disaster is the INSANE Vatican prohibition on birth control. Everything goes the wrong way as people don't think ahead. People don't know history or risk management. The truth is that civilizations decay, collapse or are overrun.
Most recently the Soviet Union collapsed. In resource wars "Team Sunni Islam" has some crude but strong advantages long term. They may take Europe this century. And a big chunk of South Central Asia. Islamists degrade then destroy then replace societies. With inferior, unsound, irrational social models that hurt people.
All they know is Sharia and jihad. They won't help manage the planet. They lack rational thought and the concepts of reciprocity or negotiation. The sociopathic carpet pilots will only grab and destroy and push everyone else out.
I think in terms of global risks and long term issues. The central problems are (a) outreach and public education and (b) progressive social destabilization and (c) getting people to work together. I promote a stewardship model. The opposite of Islamofascism. The Islamists comprise my nemesis on all levels. And time runs out.
The Outsiders – "Time Won't Let Me"
Westman says
I also cannot discount over-population as I did back in the 70’s. I finally realized that no amount of available living space can compensate for lack of resources. Water will be the world’s next limiting factor. Even the breadbasket of America is running out of irrigation water.
The ME is a microcosm of fighting for resources. Why were men burying their children in the sand prior to the advent of Muhammad? Why were Hawaiians drowning their babies when they were isolated? Where are the trees of Easter Island?
I’m going to posit that the ideology of Islam was initially accepted as a legitimization of plundering for resources rather than some sudden thirst for spirituality. Mecca already had gods. Christianity was rejected because it wouldn’t support plunder as a model of economy.
The simplification to one god(allah) who made the newly-minted Muslims into the best of people, who told believers that the unbelievers were squatters on resources belonging to Muslims must have been very appealing. The god and prophet said they could take it, divide the spoils, and charge rent. Islam was plundering resources from infancy and is, indeed, a resource transfer device as current Europeans are and will be discovering.
For a desert-dweller in Islam’s early days, who wanted more, Islam was the perfect leg-up in a world of limited resources.
I don’t think the origin of Islam was driven by anything other than an opportunistic realization that the control and expansion of external resources was a route to political and military power for its creators. The rituals, extreme controls, and the ridiculous promises of Jihad are the equivalent of military training to prepare the youth to die in the clerics’ cause. The collapse of the Caliphate system has left Islam in a squabbling limbo, waiting for a true Khalifa to appear. The latest “false” Caliphate is Daesh.
Wellington says
Thank you for your response, kay. Water capacity aside (btw, what if salt water can one day be made into fresh water?), much of what you mentioned is humans acting stupidly (e.g., the USSR whose collapse was not due in any way to too many people), not optimally.
You could be correct of course, but if mankind marshaled resources to the maximum and got rid of a lot of stupidities, then I would contend that a much larger population could be sustained. Remember, predictions of doom have been around a very long time. We were supposed to run out of oil by 2000 so said Jimmy Carter when he was President and yet the reality is we probably haven’t even tapped 20% yet of the earth’s petroleum reserves. Certainly some countries suffer from overpopulation (e.g., India and China) but others actually have an underpopulation problem (e.g., Japan and Russia).
kay says
Re: “Certainly some countries suffer from overpopulation (e.g., India and China) but…”
————————–
Sigh. Look, its just math. Finite resource and exponential population growth. This century is ENTIRELY new territory, and everything is on a trajectory to crash. Like driving towards a cliff.
The basic ideas can be explained at a high school level on a couple whiteboards. By all means, argue with the Donella Meadows book. It’s not an opinion. It’s an iterated input-output model of environmental economics. Nobody ever shredded the model.
Mainland China is not sustainable. No one can prevent twenty million Chinese from just walking into southeast Asia. Right? Now why would they do that? Well, they might WHEN China runs out of food and water. When, NOT “if”. Similarly, Hitler invaded Eastern Europe and Russia to get the farm land. As the Third Reich documents show.
Now let’s fast forward to 2015. There is a new resource war starting this year. It is civilizational jihad with the Muslim OPPORTUNISTS flooding Europe. That huge population movement is a resource war. The individual goal is personal or family survival. But the long term MACRO level goal is to wrest control of the European resources for a Caliphate.
It’s the whole Nazi program, except that it’s Islamic fascism. Actual genocide of the native European populations would not begin for another two centuries or so. Going Dhimmi in Eurabia only works for a while. But by then it’s too late to fight.
Don’t buy that? Look at formerly Christian Turkey. Or Egypt. Or the Islamic wars in South Asia. Those who do not learn the lessons of history ( “Tears of Jihad” ) are doomed to repeat them. These are ALL resource wars as well as religious wars.
I have fully introduced the Meadows book and the concept of carrying capacity and the very real strategy of resource wars.
By 2100 we get resource wars ALL OVER, and very likely a Caliphate effectively established in Western Europe. Since the Europeans have been bringing in tons of Muslims, and since free speech and critical concerns are ALREADY being muzzled, I DEFINITELY expect a Eurabian Caliphate by 2100. And a huge fight for South Central Asia thru the century.
Of course, nothing is certain. Spain was lost to Islam and then regained over five centuries. It’s just ten times harder that way. So the most reasonable expectation is instability, meaning continuous low level warfare which breaks more and more of Europe thru intensifying turf wars.
From my standpoint the European/ Islamic turf wars and social destabilization have begun as of 2015. The Europeans can do whatever they want. But jihad is jihad, and environmental economics means environmental economics. The fundamental things apply. In summary, we have the Andrew Bostom books AND the Donella Meadows book, and NOBODY has broken those analyses. Clear?
Got some things to talk about, here beside the rising tide…

Wellington, I believe that Israel, that terrorist state, has a salt water desalinization plant, and is working on more. And Israel IN GAZA- BEFORE ISRAEL STUPIDLY TURNED IT OVER TO THE PALESTINIANS, WHO DESTROYED IT IN ONE OR TWO DAYS–had an amazing aquaculture operation–growing crops in water.
as to water shortages-look at some of the “environmentally sound” things done in California- like protecting the snail darter; now some other alien species so water is diverted from crop lands to “protect” (I forgot the name of this fish or whatever from Asia). And the increasing use and waste of water on golf courses and swimming pools (I don’t swim nor play golf- disclosure) in places like Arizona, California and Florida. (And water themed parks).
Also– earlier post- Fl. could be flooded- or whatever-I live here- problem- flood insurance is subsidized by taxpayers AND TOO MANY PROJECTS (CONDOS AND HOUSES) ARE BUILT TO CLOSE TO THE WATER.
Barrier Islands were -and should be- barriers-not for condos and more condos. Just my views
Westman says
Wellington,
You’re right that the world has not run out of resources. It does have a very poor distribution of the resources that sustain life. The Saudis can pay for desalination plants and food. Many nations cannot.
The central valley of California, a vegetable basket of America is in such a severe drought that the land is sinking as water is pumped and nut farmers are ripping out trees. So far, there are no water desalination plants pumping water from the ocean – a lot of talk and no action.
Nobody wants to build the billions-of-dollars nuclear or solar energy plant, pipelines, and pump systems. The plains states of America are next for water shortages as they are now pumping ancient aquifers faster than the replenishment rate. Corn is thirsty.
Third-world populations have exploded over the past 75 years due to hybrid crops, medical care, and the importation of both purchased and free food. The very sources that provided the floor for population increase is now weakening. I think people will and are already choosing family sizes that fit reality so there will be no great catastrophe unless there is widespread warfare.
Oliver says
Westman, somewhat over 3,000 ( three thousand) years ago, the Torah aka The Old Testament was written. In one particular section, it says that EVERY SEVEN YEARS, the land shall lie fallow (no crops planted). That was good advice then, and still good.
as to food–two points.
1. IF ETHANOL WAS NOT SUBSIDIZED AND OIL FIRMS FORCED TO PUT IT INTO GASOLINE, THERE WOULD BE A HELL OF A LOT MORE CORN FOR HUMANS AND ALSO ANIMAL FEED- HEY, PRICES MIGHT ACTUALLY GO DOWN. But Congress mandated that gasoline have 10% ethanol. And wanted to kick the number higher. What the hell do they care, they don’t live in the real world.
2. Zimbabwe –when it was Rhodesia, was the breadbasket of southern Africa- and some points north.
It was the horrendous political positions taken after the whites ( who were the farmers) ( this is not said as a racist statement) were more or less forced to flee- and the farms taken over–I think made into collectives- but am not sure- and combined with bad politics, — the food production crashed, and has never recovered.
The same has happened in other countries.
Much of Asia- before these Muslim terrorists (Philippines; Thailand, a few other countries) had expanding food production (I believe it was called THE GREEN REVOLUTION-not sure).
However, there fear mongers about gmf (pink grapefruit is a GMF as are Tangelos) are -my view-stopping progress and forcing millions into starvation and/or malnutrition.
Wellington says
It’s a two-step process, Westman. Modern medical technology insures many more people survive infancy ad live longer but in countries where this technology now exists (e.g., India), the second step has not yet occurred which is affluence developed by the capitalist system which sees a decline in birth rates because people have so much more to do than have babies. If both steps were implemented everywhere (there’s a dream for you), then overpopulation problems would take care of themselves if marshalling of resources optimally also occurred.
Thanks to you and Oliver for your input here. I have written about this on this thread because things are many times not what they appear to be. Mankind often proceeds upon false assumptions treating them as true and with sometimes drastic results (e.g., the banning of DDT).

Re Westman: ” I’m going to posit that the ideology of Islam was initially accepted as a legitimization of plundering for resources rather than some sudden thirst for spirituality.
“Islam was plundering resources from infancy and is, indeed, a resource transfer device as current Europeans are and will be discovering.
“For a desert-dweller in Islam’s early days, who wanted more, Islam was the perfect leg-up in a world of limited resources.
“I don’t think the origin of Islam was driven by anything other than an opportunistic realization that the control and expansion of external resources was a route to political and military power for its creators.”
——————————-
This is a remarkably powerful analysis. Great summary!
Islam is very definitely a system of social, legal, religious, political, and military power. Islam by its nature fights for power and domination. That is the fundamental character of Islam.
Two hundred million people have been killed in the Islamic wars and this Long War will never end. It can only be fought. In the 21st Century this becomes very much a matter of resource wars.
Resource transfer from non-Muslims to Muslims is central to the culture of Islam, and right now that is being accomplished by parasitizing Europe. This is a form of social warfare, religious warfare, and political warfare.
The Islamic culture of war is what people must understand, and what they must fight to save the open societies of Europe and to save European civilization.
All non-Muslims who accept or welcome or affirm or protect Islam, like Germany’s Angela Merkel or Pope Francis or Cable News Network, are supporting a culture of endless war and total subjugation. This is fundamental betrayal of the West and of civilization.
Wellington says
You’re proving my point, kay, when you go on about “resource wars.” Wars for resources is not an optimal way to marshal resources. The problem is the war part, not the resource part.
As for much else that you say, you treat it as fact, not as theory. For instance, you state it as a fact that China will run out of food and water. This is theory, kay, not fact. As for Hitler going eastwards, yes, he did it in part for farmland and natural resources but he did it first and foremost for Aryan supremacy reasons. Germany under Hitler didn’t NEED more farmland, didn’t NEED more natural resources if it wasn’t going to make war on most everyone. No, Germany WANTED more farm land, WANTED more natural resources to become the greatest power on earth. Again, war and stupid ideologies and wasting of resources, etc. are the problems, not population per se.
Look, I concede you may be right about overpopulation, though I don’t think you are. But do you concede that I may be right, even though you don’t think I am? Do you also think that Donella Meadows was infallible? Could she have gotten some things wrong? Or is this not a possibility either?
Oliver says
wellington, Kay and (I forgot who)– re overpopulation.
Mankind has ALWAYS thought that there was over population. I forgot the population in Ehrlich’s book ( i read it decades ago) but less then today. he did not foresee advances in agriculture–that increased yields by large amounts. Go back 120 or so years- the telephone was a luxury, and a top British (I believe-politician) thought that it was a useful gadget, but would not replace messengers. In the early 1950’s, the intelligentsia thought that by the year 2000, the world would need only a few hundred computers, at most.

Right. And if wishes were horses, all could ride.
So, you mean like invent a solution to create tons of topsoil for agriculture?
Or invent a solution to provide vast amounts of potable water?
How are people prevented from making money? People make money in the United States. What interference do you have in mind? And how does this relate to topsoil, severely depleted aquifers and population overshoot?
The point here is that you did not provide any analysis of the Meadows book, nor did anyone else here. So in debate terms, the Meadows book stands. And I give follow-up here.
Earlier models forecast larger scale problems from around 2030 to 2050. Now some models see major structural problems more in the 2050 – 2070 timeframe. However, the basic model remains the same. The expectation of system collapse around 2100 remains very straightforward.

Randers’ book tries hard to make an objective forecast of what the world will be like in 2052, taking resource limitations into account. He’s very good about saying where his data come from, how he interprets them, and how he extrapolates the trends.
If you are one of the many economists, journalists, and other pundits out there who are constantly saying that resource shortages are not a problem and that economic growth will solve all problems, this is a great book to get you started on thinking more realistically about the future. For that reason I give the book five stars…
————————–
‘Nuff said. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m in the middle of a really important teaching videocast from Japan.
Good luck with that business of trying to create some topsoil. Let me know if you can create any topsoil in the next five years.
There are today a billion people who are at risk of malnutrition. I don’t think they are interested in telephones or fax machines. They want food and water. Make sense?

Well, this is tricky.
I will have to claim that I don’t really parse that.
My opposition is to POLITICAL Islam.
I cannot support comprehensive deportation of all Muslims.
I support deportation of fascist Political Islamists who threaten society as terrorists and traitors.
There is a distinction. Basically you can’t deport twelve year old kids. Unless they’re actively into Kalashnikov rifles, hand grenades and attacks on police stations.
That’s called The Middle Way.
In short, definitely not my meme. And I’m not avoiding anything.

Re Westman: “civil discussion”
—————————-
Yeah, well it is civil. That’s the only way to discuss formal models of environmental economics. It’s math and data and equations and projections and stuff. I try to help humanity, and that’s not an addiction-backed social demand.
Very surprised I got away with this stuff here, but it turns out to be a really good bridge. At least for me the sustainable environmental democracy guy. Score one for the good guys.
Hey Westman, so glad you’re here! You really like totally get stuff! You really nailed it. It’s not good if just one person says stuff like you said. When several people can present the foundational issues then the communication is set up effectively.
Whew! That was pretty much a long shot, but I gave two key references. People can argue with those if they want. But first they have to read the texts.
Sort of like me having to dig into all this Muslim history and law and hadith stuff before I can deal with it.
Know the material. Leverage the material. Present the material. Engage the public.
Now then. Back to the crisis at hand.
And as for me, there is a big United Nations conference coming up in November. I haven’t been paying attention to the environmental stuff because the Islamofascist stuff has been consuming all my cycles.
If I am really noble and dedicated, surely I can spare some cycles for the UN and for the planet. No promises. I wish things were different, meaning easier.

Generally urbanisation is seen as a plus.
Citizens get into the cash economy (out of subsistence).
Better access to healthcare.
Better access to education.
Larger plots of agricultural land allow mechanisation and greater yields per hectare.
That is until you add ‘Islam’.

Are the people in this administration this stupid? Do they actually rely on studies of rainfall in Syria? Do they consider possible land use and water use issues that could reduce rainfall? Why don’t they look at Turkish dam building projects and their impact on water and possibly rainfall in Syria? If Turkey builds dams that cut the flow of water from rivers into Syria, this could make the environment in Syria drier. At least that is what it appears to me. This is climate change but it has nothing to do with CO2. http://www.thecornerhouse.org.uk/sites/thecornerhouse.org.uk/files/IraqSyri.pdf

Susan Rice was correct to a point, Climate change did and does have something to do with the middle east instability, but not, I think ,as much as she claims.
“The problems are biodiversity collapse, surging overpopulation, massive desertification, major depletion of aquifers, and resource wars. Technically the Shia Sunni civil wars are all tribal resource wars and well as medieval theological wars.” that Kay states is more the cause than simple climate change. The real problem is that muslims destroy everything they touch. Watch Dr. Bill Warners fine documentary on ” The 1400 year old secret” to discover the fact that north africa and egypt were the bread basket of the late roman world. Now it is desert that can’t feed itself.
When you trash your environment and do nothing to replenish it bad things happen-the 30’s dust bowl from overfarming, clear cutting forests without replanting and mudslides etc. for example.
When you have 4 wives and 10 to 12 kids in an ecologically fragile area and do nothing to restore vital resources but just deplete them as fast as you can, well the middle east is what you get.
Muslims won’t even put garbage into the trash cans so instead of recycling/composting etc you have crap (literal and otherwise) rotting everywhere , drawing vermin and further degrading the quality of life in the area.
Climate change is real and needs to be addressed, but it is not the major cause of the syrian conflict or the Hijra invasion the world is being subjected too.

TRUTH. Good point.
The Bill Warner video is very important here. I just pushed it a couple times over on youtube.
It may be that the indigenous Egyptian population collapsed by MILLIONS as a result of Islamic misrule.
I have no figures on that,. but obviously Muslims ruin everything they touch.
The Muslims must be prevented from destroying Europe.
We don’t have more places to go to. There is only one Earth.
I fear that the real human environmental threat to planetary ecosystems is Islam. Hadn’t thought of that angle before. But it fits.

If the country was not hooked on oil and the money it generates, we could all be driving electric cars, living by solar and wind power, and/or using geothermal heating!!! The “sucking” sound is big business trying to get every cent that they can from the American people and not allowing any other source of energy to be developed, and for it to be presented at a reasonable price!! Electric care, and the batteries that run them, are so expensive because that’s the only revenue that they can “suck” out once the vehicle is in play!! And that is also the reason why it seems to be illegal to go off the grid and use the aforementioned renewable energy sources and not use oil! Truth be known, we no longer need their oil, but the money men have to have their “grease” and don’t give a glorious GD about the American people!!

The Syrian war has nothing to do with the last two decades or the climate. It is a millennial dispute that has been simmering on and off ever since the Arabs invaded Syria 1,300 years ago. Under Arab rule the Alawites became a persecuted minority who lived in the gutters, because they are not really Mos. But the French saw them as potential allies and put them in the army, and from thence they took power.
So the Alawites are merely the Yazidi with the potential to protect themselves. And we all support the persecuted Yazidi, don’t we? Or are we saying that if the Yazadi got some weaponry and defended themselves, we would all suddenly hate them?
This is the underlying political situation. And it is not a recent issue , Assad’s father had the same problem in 1981, and put down the rebellion with force. Look up the Hamma masssacre.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1982_Hama_Islamic_uprising
So the Alawites know that if they lose power, they will be eliminated. And the Syriac Christians know that if the Alawites go, they will be next to be eliminated – just as Christians have been historically eliminated across the Near East (I am Atheist, btw.)
This is the religio-political reality on the ground. This is why Assad will never give up his position. This is the real situation that any negotiation has to address. And this is why it is highly unlikely that any peace initiative will ever work – just as no peace initiative has ever worked between Israel and the Palestinians.
And the real question, is why will the media not discuss this?

TRUTH and confirmed.
The game plan is definitely to slaughter the Shia-ish Alawites and the Christians in western Syria.
We’re talking serious ethnic cleansing.
How do I know? I saw a fairly recent video / translation ( circa 2014 ) of some Arabic-speaking news commentators. One of the nice men on that program was adamant: the Alawites must be eliminated to the last man, woman and child..
Of course ,as primary backers of the Alawite regime, the Christians are also certainly marked for death.
Right now, only the Russians have effective military power to hold off the enraged, bloodthirsty Sunni jihadis.
Am not saying that the Syrian regime is made of nice men, nor do I have warm feelings for the Russian military.
But the October insertion of a real Russian military force has now stabilized the situation, and reversed the extremely critical attacks right on the North South corridor that connects Damascus up to Latakia.
It appears that Damascus towards the south was right on the brink of being cut off from the north, and therefore falling. This was an extremely close call for Alawites, Christians, and everyone in western Syria.
Barack Obama has this week massively resupplied the Sunni jihadi with many huge air drops of ammunition. This is fairly disastrous for the Alawites and Christians.
This is a matter of life and death for the Syrian Christians and Alawites. And the Obama administration is a primary MILITARY enemy of the Christian and Alawite communities because of the direct military support for the “moderate’ ( but certainly bloodthirsty ) Sunni jihadis.
I remain deeply concerned that Jordan is placed at severe risk following a very possible fall of Damascus.
Right now, the only reason that Damascus and the Alawites are still able to hold up is combined massive economic and military aid from Russia and Iran.
Damascus would already have fallen without those. Damascus definitely could have fallen this month without the Russian military intervention.
And the United States supports the “moderate” jihadis against:
Damascus, the Christians, Russia, and Iran.
In a very practical sense, the Obama policy does very effective support for Islamic State. Because jihadis are jihadis and they are never moderate.
This Washington-for-genocidal-jihad program saddens me and deeply worries me.
The Americans get to cause problems for the Russians and in effect punish them for the takeover of Crimea. Maybe the Americans think they can deny a naval port to the Russians.
But in this scenario, ethnic cleansing and genocide are guaranteed by Islamofascist victory in Damascus. This will definitely happen if the Russians do not sustain their heightened support for the Assad regime.

Hi Manuel. 🙂 And yes. I am very realistic.
This is no surmise or mere anxiety on my part.
I saw an Arabic language news analysis on Syria which ran half an hour.
These Sunni are clamoring for ethnic cleansing. They are driven by hatred.
Doesn’t have to be Islamic State. The other jihadis would be equally happy to slaughter the Alawites.
These are TRIBAL people. The Sunni in Syria would remember and hate the Alawites for five generations.
Am not an alarmist. Wish I had the youtube link to this specific video.
Recently I have been researching a lot of youtube videos for Europe.
There is so much aggression and violence associated with Islam all over the map, and youtube provides a remarkably important record for Islamic aggression. Examples are extremist Islamic protests in London in Paris in 2014-2015.
The Europeans are in for a rough ride. And the White House is sending massive arms to the jihadis, directly threatening the lives of the minority Alawites and Christians.
Everything in Europe is going wrong, and Syria is a hideous disaster.
The bad guys thrive on generating chaos and destruction. The West doesn’t know how to deal with this chaos and destruction. The West makes mostly the wrong responses and gets sucked into the game of the Islamofascists.
The West is being played. The West is going full retard. It is painful to watch.
