“Bishop Georges Abou Khazen, the apostolic vicar of Aleppo, said that ‘if the grenade had exploded inside, there would have been a massacre.'” But don’t be concerned: Georges Abou Khazen’s brother bishops are all over the problem…of climate change.
“Syria: Aleppo church hit by grenade during mass,” ANSAmed, October 26, 2015:
(ANSAmed) – VATICAN CITY, OCTOBER 26 – A mortar shell last night hit the Latin church of Aleppo dedicated to Saint Francis, in the Aziziyeh district, while mass was being celebrated in the building. The grenade, coming from areas held by anti-Assad rebels, hit the roof, tearing its dome, but did not penetrate inside the church, exploding outside and injuring seven people, Fides reports. Bishop Georges Abou Khazen, the apostolic vicar of Aleppo, said that ”if the grenade had exploded inside, there would have been a massacre”.
”It was around 10 before six in the evening, there were about 400 people in church and the time had come for communion”, he told Fides. ”If the grenade had exploded inside – added the Franciscan bishop – there would have been a massacre. Instead, only seven worshippers were injured, not in a serious way, when rubble fell down and the roof was damaged. We thank the Lord and the Virgin Mary. And our worshippers too, who immediately rushed from their homes to check the damage to the parish church and clean up inside so that today already morning mass was celebrated”. (ANSAmed).

When will Pope Francis listen to his eastern bishops and clergy about the reality of the JIHAD DOCTRINE?

Never, they don’t make enough money for the Vatican. Unlike the Muslims, the Christians don’t get to share in oil money.

Thank God for islamic technology…
Anyway, what did those Christians do to “bring it on themselves”? A mohammad cartoon exhibit? No, they are Christians, and islamic texts mandate the subjugation of Christians. And while the heads of the RCC insist in denying what’s blatantly obvious, these kind of attacks will not end.

Good point–the only way the victims “brought it on themselves” is by daring to remain Christians in the face of Muslim demands that all Infidels convert.

“Thank God for islamic technology…”
The mortal shells came from an anti-Assad area, so the technology was most likely American since that is their supplier and number one fan.
We should be thanking the 1400 years of muslim inbreeding for ensuring they did not have the IQ to use the weapon properly.
U.S tax dollars hard at work.
The savage cavemen don’t even know how to use those billions of dollars of weaponry they’re being showered with.

I asked this before-when discussing Christians in Iraq. How come, everyone seems to be armed, but when it comes to fighting Muslims, nobody ( except the Muslims) are? (In the Iraq posts-talking about the refugee crisis-I asked, how come when it was the American and British military- everyone seemed armed, but against ISIS, they folded their tents). (Never got an answer other then I don’t know).
Same here. Anti Assad people hold the area- why aren’t they fighting for their lives- rather then meekly submitting?
or, to them, like all others, it is Israel’s fault?
gravenimage says
Oliver, Christians make up only an estimated .8% of the population in Iraq. Even before the incursions of ISIS, they were being violently targeted, driven out, and murdered by Muslims there.
Any armed resistance on their part–even assuming they as Christians could get guns–would just lead to their immediate genocide.
And if you are referring to anti-Assad Sunni Muslim locals, I would not assume that they are all just “meekly submitting”–the truth is that many Sunnis completely support the Islamic State in imposing brutal Shari’ah law, and have no desire to oppose the Caliphate at all. Many of them welcome it.

In any muslim country including the west supposed allies unbelievers are forbidden to own weapons ( it is an offence for an unbeliever to defend himself against a muslim, Christians have recently been sentenced to death for this ” crime ” in Indonesia ) The Christian country Armenia offered refuge to all Christian and Yazidis in Middle east but Americas muslim allies in the region blocked the plan because Armenia is in dispute with its muslim neighbours and of course Imam Obama puts muslim interests first.

BO has gone on record as saying the the biggest threat is “climate change”?
Don’t look at the wolf at the door, don’t evaluate the problem in a rational way.
Climate change is NOT the biggest or most immediate problem that we face.
What do substance abuse councilors say? You first have to admit that there is a problem before you can work on fixing it. There has been little “official” recognition, but people ARE waking up.
The recent elections [Swiss, Austria, Poland] have shown that the “officials” are expendable and most folks do not like how their countries are being sacrificed to an evil ideology.
Jeremiah says
The Papacy needs to do more than encouraging Americans to die for Catholics in Syria.
Perhaps they can transport all Syrian Catholics to Rome instead of accepting Muslims from Libya? That would avoid their harassment and rape when they flee in the company of the jihadis.
To have to Pope constantly telling us what to do while he continues to enrich the Church is the epitome of hypocrisy. Let him roll up his sleeves and do something productive . . . some Christian deed even.

Anyone here who is agonising over the suffering of the Syrian Christians, and thinks “What can I do??!!” CAN do *something*.
Barnabas Fund is working hard to help some of the terribly-endangered Syrian Christians (and that includes also Christians who have fled from Iraq) to escape; it is also helping provide for them where they are.
Go to their website. There are a number of Syria-related projects.
here’s the main one, “Operation Safe Havens”.
https://www.barnabasfund.org/appeals/Help-get-us-out-of-here
*Our* family has already donated to this.
It would make an excellent Advent project for individual Christians, families, and parishes.
Barnabas is *heavily* lobbying western governments, seeking that the Christian refugees be given absolute priority in refugee intakes. Get on board with them. Make noise! Write letters! Lobby politicians… and church leaders. The more Christians and the fewer Muslims, the better!
Pray (if you’re the praying sort), and then pester the politicians (as politely as you can manage); pray some more, and pester some more. Don’t give up!
