Whatever Russia’s motives in Syria, one thing is clear: persecuted Syrian Christians favor Russian intervention against the jihadis slaughtering them, while accusing the U.S. and Western allies of only engaging in cosmetic strikes. Here are the words of a Syrian Christian leader — one well acquainted with the persecution his people are experiencing — concerning Russian intervention, as reported in Asia News. Note also what he says of the non-IS rebels being struck by Russia, the groups the U.S. is eager to portray as simply “anti-Assad rebels,” but which in fact are also Christian slaughtering jihadis:
Damascus (AsiaNews) – US air strikes in Syria are window-dressing, and have little real effect on the militias of the Islamic state (IS), who are left free to act on the ground. Instead the Russian attacks in recent days have been effective, forcing jihadists to fall back towards the Iraqi desert. This is according to Msgr. Jacques Behnan Hindo, referring to testimonies of people living in areas of conflict theater.
“Moscow’s intervention has been positive – said the prelate who leads the archieparchy Syrian Catholic Hassaké-Nisibis, – because they are really targeting Daesh [Arabic acronym for the IS/ISIS, Islamic State] and the militia are beginning to flee. They fled from the area in about 20 cars in a hurry in the direction of Iraq, leaving another 20 cars on site. A sign of a real retreat. “
The bishop of Hassaké-Nisibi lives under constant threat from IS: “I am less than three kilometers from the town – he says – a month ago their offensive was repelled and they folded around the city. In the past two weeks, thanks to the attacks of the Russians, they began to retreat. ”
In contrast, Msgr. Hindo reserves rather harsh words for the United States, who are not bombing the positions of jihadi militias but the Syrian government.
“It’s not about being for or against the government – he says – but people never believed in America’s attacks. Only the Kurds have really fought on the ground, but to hold their ground “and it is not plausible that they can, alone, solve the emergency. Besides the United States, France, Britain only speak of “attacking the Daesh, but do not speak of the Nusra Front and other Islamist militias linked to Al Qaeda. Indeed, there are extremist groups that have changed names to rebuild credibility, and these are not even mentioned. This is also a big problem. “
The prelate denounces Washington’s “ambiguity” seen in the American’s attitude during the seizure of hundreds of Christians originating in the villages of the valley of the river Khabur. ”On the night of Feb. 23, when Daesh attacked, the American planes – he says – flew over the area for a long time without intervening. Then for three days we saw no more jets, leaving the field open to the militants. This makes us think that in some way have been helped by the Americans and their ambiguous attitude”.

Please join with thousands of prayer warriors in the M.E who are praying for the complete defeat of the barbaric, genocidal Syrian islamic jihadists and their American backers in Syria. Please pray for this objective in the next three weeks. Remember, as you pray for this objective, you could be saving the lives of millions of innocent Syrian Christians through your simple prayer. Please share this prayer request with others who are willing to pray for the fulfillment of this noble objective. Thank you.
Annak says
Will do. May God grant victory over the evil Jihadist and save Christians and other minorities.
And I will also pray for the American air-force that they wake-up and will refuse the orders for a useless fake mission, which is unrighteous and which they must surely be aware and ashamed of ?Nothing to be proud of, and although I have never been “rebellious” , if ever there was time for rebelling, surely it is now.
Ex-muslim says
I say Amen to that and let us hope and pray that Christians in America wake up and demand that the US government abandons the blind support it is giving to Islamic terrorists.

Yes, that would help the most. Protest in their millions that the lying MB traitor leaves NOW with all his nasty cohorts.

Indeed.
Obama is supporting the agenda of the Saudi supremacists. That agenda is to ethnically cleanse Christians and have Sunnis only in the region.
Christianblood says
Exactly!
Mazo says
Obama supports “Saudi supremacisfs” by signing a nuclear deal with Iran.
Retarded redneck logic.
Make up your mind dopes, is Obama supporting Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood, or Saudis? They all have conflicting and opposing agendas .
Jeremiah says
What is your agenda? Obama’s agenda is entropy. Entropy makes us vulnerable to all our enemies, whether they are from North Korea, China, Russia, Taliban, Brotherhood, Ayatollah or ISIS. Whoever he supports is our enemy. Where do you stand?

As an european, all I can say is this: of course the majority of american are decent people and I have so many wonderful memories with some american friends I have. But as a nation, americans must accept the fact that their government, their taxes money and their armed forces are on the service of some dark powers. How can anyone explain one year of bombings without serious results compared to 10 days of russian intervention? How about the continuous lies of their media? I can’t say who Obama supports. probably no one and everyone at the same time, because that’s what happens when you make policies based on fantasy and ignoring reality. You americans have a serious problem (worse than in Europe) with your “left”. They discuss ideology ignoring facts. Life isn’t easy. Most of the times, we’re confronted with the need to choose between bad things. And we’re forced to choose the least evil one. Is Assad a bad boy? Of course he is, like Saddam was. But, is there any better solution? We only need to look at the american policy results in the region…. One iraquian student in my country told a newspaper this sentence: “we had one Saddam, now we have 100”! The moment you find people you began to act according to values taking reality into account, problems will be solved. Russions are proving it.

Add Obama to the group of three and tell me who disagrees that nobody should slander the “prophets” name ?
Raja says
Mortimer,
You are spot on. I would add that there is more to it than ambiguity. It is stealth Jihad, Jugglery with Jihad, taqqiya of Obama and so on. When Dr. Carson raised the irrelevant issue of next president being Muslim president he most probably had the present crook in mind. Otherwise why would he raise the issue of a Muslim president for 2016 election? He was probably hinting at the incumbent president practicing taqqiya too.
I would like to know if this matter has come up for any discussion in public arena.

On the news this evening, was the report about loads of stuff from the U.S. government being dropped for the benefit and use of the *moderate rebels* of whom o is in so much favor of helping. The news reporter used the term “proxy war.”
Clearly, anyone other than the particular moslems o wishes to help are unimportant. Christians are only important as targets

I’m disgusted by the US offering tonnes of weapons to Syrian Rebels. What credentials do the rebels have?
Putin is no saint, but Obama has it wrong. This escalates the conflict to Cold War proportions. It could pull in Iran and Turkey into senseless war where NATO handwringing could lead to splits … Sadly Russia can’t afford more of this unless the oil price goes up and that’s probably inevitable.

I’ll kind of repeat the opinions I gave on another thread.
The most satisfactory realistic situation for the Christians in the region would be to stabilize the existing governments and secure their borders. Rulers in Muslim countries, particularly dictators, tend to appreciate non-Muslim communities because they provide a counter-balance to the Muslim fanatic groups, and allow the dictator to divide and conquer to maintain power.
Dictators in Muslim countries, including Saddam Hussein, Mubarak, muammar gaddafi, and Assad, have protected the Christian communities as a strategy for holding onto power and boosting their economies, as non-Muslims are generally more productive than Muslims.
It is a direct threat to the Christians and other non-Muslims of a country when the US supports the toppling of a government in a Muslim country. This has been shown in virtually every intervention of the US. The obverse of this is the US support of a separate Kurdistan, which has a stable government, protects its borders effectively, and which protects Christians in its territory.
Turkey will demolish Kurdistan if it can, so a really effective US move to protect Christians, and limit the spread of ISIS, would be to position its forces so Turkish planes cannot bomb Kurdish targets.
Chances are, the strategy of Russia is not to topple ISIS, but to support the existence of the Syrian government. Air power is a tactical, rather than a strategic asset, so the use of air power to support troops on the ground makes all the sense in the world, while random bombing will achieve nothing. Once the Syrian government stabilizes, it may well be that ISIS as an entity will remain in existence as the Sunni tribal areas of Syria, Iraq, and possibly Libya. Arrayed against ISIS will be the Syrian government and the land it controls, the Kurdish country, and the Shi’ite parts of Iraq, with the assistance of Iran. All these areas are likely to protect Christians and other non-Muslim groups to some extent.
Any territory held by Sunni rebels are not likely to be good for Christians, as theologically, there is little daylight between the other Sunni fighters and ISIS.
Mazo says
Put down the coke and weed.
Iraqi Kurdistan and Syrian Kurds/Turkish Kurds belong to two different rival politcal parties.
Iraqi Kurdistan is run by Barzani’s KDP party and they are friendly to Turkey. They sell oil and gas to Turkey, provided refuge to a Sunni Vice President Tariq Al Hashimi who was sentenced to death by the Shia government in Baghdad and helped him flee to Turkey. Turkey has massive trade relations with Iraq Kurdistan and has been assisting them to break away from the control of the Shia government in Baghdad. Barzani has been picking fights with the Shia Iraqi government because he knows he has Turkey’s support if he wants to declear independence.
Turkish Kurds and Syrian Kurds are affiliated to the Anti-Turkey Marxist PKK. They are rivals of Barzani and against Turkey. They are the ones who have been fighting Turkey for decades.
Barzani tried to expand his own KDP party to Syrian Kurdistan and align the Syrian Kurds with the Syrian rebels (Syrian National Council) at Turkey’s behest.
The PKK’s branch in Syria, YPG, responded by booting Barzani’s KDP out of Syria.
Turkey is perfectly fine with independent Iraqi Kurdistan. They oppose Kurdistan in Turkey and Syria.
Saddam Hussein didn’t target Christians for being Christians. But he targeted Assyrians for their ethnicity in his Arabization campaigns, he forced them to Arabize and launched bombing attacks on their villages.
Saddam was okay with ethnically Arab Christians like Michel Aflaq, and with Assyrian/Chaldean Christians who Arabized, changed their Assyrian names to Arabic like Tariq Aziz.
There are no native Christians in Libya. The Arabs and Berbers of Syria are all Muslim. The Christians in Libya are Egyptian Coptic migrants who go to Libya to temporarily work or do business. They are not Libyan citizens.
RonaldB says
Well, I found your comments informative, and used them for further research…except the personal insult, of course.
You are correct that most of the Christians in Libya were foreign workers, but their situation seems to have deteriorated since Gaddafi, especially the Libyan converts.
“Since the downfall of Gaddafi and his regime, the situation for Christians in Libya has deteriorated. The government claims all Libyans are Sunni Muslims, and it is illegal to bring Arabic Bibles into the country or to evangelise. Abdul Salam Bargathi, a commander in Benghazi, has even suggested that Christians could be considered a threat to national security, and secret police and spy networks monitor those who could be considered subversive. Christians also face attacks from militant Islamist groups, and violence against Christians has continued on a large scale and with impunity.”

Jeremiah says
Obama is a Muslim. He knows nothing about Christianity. His only connection to Christianity is Jeremy Wright, a black supremacist. Obama is connected to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, he will not do more than pretend to fight ISIS. The occasional success is just window dressing for talking points so that Josh Earnest doesn’t look too much like Baghdad Bob.
Once people see all of Obama’s actions as furthering the cause of Islam, we will have a much more fruitful discussion. In the meantime:
1. Wake up: they hate us.
2. We need to return to the Bible and the fruits provided by the Judaeo-Christian culture.
3. We need to ask questions about the brainwashing of our children in high schools. They have been told that Islam is benign in that they are simply defending themselves against Israel: all 2 million of them against less than 10 million. That only makes sense if you accept mental gymnastics as an Olympic sport.
Let us act. God bless America again.
Jeremiah says
Slips. Islam claims to have 2 billion adherents. We say it is closer to 1.2 billion. In any case the figure is much higher than the total number of Jews worldwide. That figure is about one percent of the total faced by Islam.
خَليفة says
I wonder how many would leave Islam if there was an international “get out of Islam day” with no punishment for leaving. We all know that will never happen as those in charge would be too afraid, knowing that the vast majority would leave.
Jeremiah says
Let us hope that God will give us the chance to find out how many Muslims are prepared to leave Islam . . . preferably for Christianity. When a Muslim first reads the Koran he either blows up or throws up. Let us help those who are sickened by the Koran.
Angemon says
Jeremiah posted:
“Obama is a Muslim. He knows nothing about Christianity. His only connection to Christianity is Jeremy Wright, a black supremacist. ”
And Obama only distanced himself from Jeremy Wright when it became too politically inconvenient for him not to do/say anything, after Wright’s anti-Americanism made it to the news. This after two decades (give or take) soaking in Wright’s sermons.
Jeremiah says
Thank you. If Obama distances himself from Jeremy Wright, then what is his Christianity? Would it be politically incorrect to ask him?
In view of his strong support of Islam and his reluctance to help Christians, he has a case to answer.
Peggy says
I think a better question to Obama would be when did he leave Islam?
His father is a Muslim as was his stepfather and according to Islam if your father is Muslim so are you.
Then he attended Islamic school in Indonesia which cannot be done unless you are a Muslim.
So when did he leave Islam?
Dr. Divinity says
If Wright’s sermons had not been brought to light obama would probably still be sitting in the pews
Angemon says
Exactly.
Jeremiah says
Wright’s Church is not Christian. It may be a socialist gathering of Muslims agitators but it is not Christian. Jeremy’s translation of the Bible does not exist.

It’s not just Obama. It’s every single US Administration before Obama as well that has been absolutely adamant on controlling and devastating the region without regard for its consequences. The consequences are clear to see: wherever the US thought it necessary to overthrow a regime we have now raging Islamists and barbarians ruling these places. Slaughtering Christians and other non-muslims wholesale.
This is all thanks to US foreign policy that has been going on for decades.
Allan Mandrowski says
Here more leads that US is ambiguously supporting ISIS and not fighting them.

Iraqi militia leader says U.S. not serious about fighting Islamic State.
“It does not want to end Daesh (Islamic State). It wants to exploit Daesh to achieve its projects in Iraq and in the region. The American project in Iraq is to repartition the region.”
Khazali said the US-led coalition had failed to ramp up the number of air strikes over time as he said it had pledged to do.

Someone please educate me. When you are at war with a openly declared enemy, arent you supposed to do all possible to locate enemy targets anddestroy them? What then are these reports of America complaing and investigating HOW ISIS has acquired so many toyota veicles? The Russians support the legitimate government of Syria against sunni savages.
On this issue, I’m ashamed to be a Westerner & admire Russia.

Let’s be careful what we wish for. Way I see it, Putin is following in the footsteps of all the would-be world rulers of history: Genghis Khan, Charlemagne, the Tsars, Stalin, Hitler, Mao et al. Come to think of it, every British monarch up until the present queen sought to rule the world. Remember those old maps of the British Empire?
And of course Mister Mohammad and his Middle-Eastern successors had similar aims. Were they not halted in time, Gaddafi and Saddam would have outdone ISIS in mayhem.
Allan Mandrowski says
Gaddafi would have done jack shit. He actually kept Libya pretty safe, especially for minorities like Christians. Now ISIS rules Libya and cuts Christians’ heads off.
Saddam Hussein, surely a cruel dictator but still miles better than the savages that constitute ISIS.

Allan Mandrowski,

For those with ears to hear, this is all a continuation of the 100 year oil war. The excuse for the 19th century Crimean war was “religion”, but it was really to keep a certain family’s shipping concerns intact in the Mediterranean. The same family, along with BP and Standard Oil, started WWI to seize oil interest back from the German/Ottoman coalition. We find these same powers at work in any oil producing country in the fertile crescent regions, starting wars to destabilize existing governments, appointing stooges, and reaping the prophets, all at the expense of our son’s blood.
Follow the oil.
