Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

UN Human Rights Council member Saudi Arabia rejects international “interference” over Shia activist’s crucifixion

Oct 7, 2015 5:59 pm By Robert Spencer

“Under Saudi Arabia’s draconian legal system, he is to beheaded and his body crucified in public.” That draconian legal system is known as Sharia, Islamic law.

“When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks…” (Qur’an 47:4)

“Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.” (Qur’an 5:33)

“Ali Mohammed al-Nimr crucifixion: Defiant Saudi Arabia rejects international ‘interference’ in protester’s crucifixion,” by Gianluca Mezzofiore, International Business Times, October 7, 2015:

The Saudi Arabian embassy in the UK has released a statement in which it rejects “any form of interference in its internal affairs” regarding the case of 21-year-old dissident Ali Mohammed al-Nimr, who has been sentenced to death by beheading for engaging in pro-democracy protests.

The London embassy tweeted, using the young activist’s name as a hashtag:

Saudi Embassy Nimr

The statement comes after David Cameron was challenged by Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow on 6 October to explain why the British government agreed to a secret deal with the Saudis to allow both nations were elected to the UN Human Rights Council in 2013. The prime minister said he would personally raise the case of Nimr if there was an opportunity with the Saudi authorities. “We oppose the death penalty anywhere and everywhere in all our international contacts,” he said.

Nimr, the nephew of a vocal Shia cleric and activist, was arrested in 2012, when he was 17, for taking part in a protest. According to human rights organisation Reprieve, he was forced to sign a confession under torture and has since been sentenced to death on a diverse set of charges, including attacking police, breaking allegiance to the king, setting up terror cells, rioting and robbing a pharmacy.

Under Saudi Arabia’s draconian legal system, he is to beheaded and his body crucified in public. The case has triggered uproar worldwide, with Amnesty International describing the trial as unfair and deeply flawed. Meanwhile, a Saudi court has upheld a beheading sentence against another young protester, Dawoud al-Marhoon….”

Saudi Arabia living under sharia law =, islam, such a peaceful religion, unless you want to leave it, speak about it, try to moderate it or otherwise offend this is called slander. This kind of “diversity blindness”, towards islam, accepting a cultural/religious difference is inhuman.

And let’s face the reality here…..

Any honest questions as to the validity of Mohammad’s “Claims” by us… “Infidels” are viewed as offensive to muslims.

Great! A religion where open discussion, questions, or concerns, are met with a death sentence.

Where do I sign up?! ;-(

Interesting that the Shia homeland – Iran, constantly posts threats to behead Jews Westerners etc.
YET it is Western countries that seem to accept the burden of getting clemency for this guy.
This is the same shirking of responsibility that sees Saudi, Qatar, Malaysia and Indonesia refuse to accept refugees from Syria.

The UN is so bankrupt, ethically & morally, that the best thing the USA can do is to defund it, send the mess to an arabic country & use the green tower to earn rent. Both moves might help the USA pay off some of its debt.

For the same reason Australia made it to the security council a few years ago–by being generous with ‘aid’ to governments who vote. See also: hosting the World Cup; hosting the Olympics. It’s a racket.

Slander to Muslims is saying something, ( truth or scientific fact), which makes Islam or the person feel insulted or look bad ( from m their point of view ).

The solution is simple – stop all trade with Saudi Arabia ( and all Muslim countries ) until they change their laws – both on the books and in practice. Deport all Saudi Nationals, nationalize all land holdings ( repatriate land ownership ). They will soon need food – hunger is a strong motivation for training animals – when the Arab world can prove they are not animals, the west can start treating them as such.

If only we could isolate this barbaric nation. The multi-nationals are in up to their ears and the US has military bases there; a quid pro quo of oil for protection – a devil’s bargain.

The oil money has been used to keep the Saud family in power, build a glass city, and export the cult of violence. The oligarchs of America don’t care because the little guy will pay the blood price while they dine on power and profits.

    • Westman says

      Oct 7, 2015 at 7:51 pm

If the US pulled its bases out of SA and cancelled its defense agreement, Iran would take over SA in a month to control and manage Mecca. The US is all that keeps the Saud family in powerl

Saudi Arabian leaders are full of camel crap. While complaining about external criticism it is actively spreading it’s violent Wahhabi form of Islam around the world. It reaches deeply into many of the terrorist groups currently interfering with every government they can reach. They are also spreading their 7th century ideology around the U.S.

“Indeed, 80 percent of the 1,200 mosques operating in the US were constructed after 2001, more often than not with Saudi financing. As a result, Wahhabi influence over Islamic institutions in the US was considerable by 2003, according to testimony before the US Senate. Hundreds of publications, published by the Saudi government and its affiliates, and filled with intolerance toward Christians, Jews, and other Americans, had been disseminated across the country by 2006, according to a report by Freedom House, a Washington-based NGO. That report concluded that “the Saudi government propaganda examined reflects a totalitarian ideology of hatred that can incite to violence.” By 2013, 75 percent of North American Islamic centers relied on Wahhabi preachers who promote anti-Western ideas in person and online through their sermons and through the Saudi-produced literature.”*

So Saudi Arabia is not just criticizing other countries, they are working to dismantle them from the inside out.

Starting with the Twin Towers being destroyed from the inside out! Deep thinking Americans say this nation was tricked by the attacks on 9/11 into finishing their dirty work by taking out Saddam who was a hated neighbor.

Can a reporter please ask Obama or UN Amb. Power if they feel that the punishment is ok since Saudi Arabia enforces “real” islam, …not like those misguided, jobless, amateurs in Raqaa….

They should also ask Hillary “Where is Asia Bibi?”….and when she stammers about some mid-south-Asian territory, the reporter can correct her and say “Asia Bibi is in a Pakistani prison on death row awaiting imminent execution by her muslim overlords for trumped up charges of “blasphemy”…you know, the law that you told the Islamic states of the UN that you would help pass…”. Bam! You’re welcome!

The British government’s statement that they oppose the death penalty everywhere in all instances is morally flawed, because it equates the death penalty imposed for premeditated murder with the death penalty, in this case, imposed for peaceful political protest. Shame on the British government for conflating these two very different cases.

    ………………………………

Other fine Mohammedan nations such as Sudan–which has engaged in enslavement and genocide–have also served on the UN Human Rights Council–making the existence of that council a mockery.

By the way, this body used to be called the “Human Rights Commission”–until it became too embarrassing, exactly because they had so many notorious human rights abusers on it. Of course, this new body is every bit as bad.
