Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

US officials question Toyota over how Islamic State obtained SUVs, pick-up trucks spotted in videos

Oct 7, 2015 7:08 pm By Robert Spencer

This after huge amounts of American weaponry and other materiel have fallen into the hands of the Islamic State, courtesy “extremists” whom U.S. officials mistook for “moderates,” and the weakness and fecklessness of the U.S.-trained Iraqi Army. After the massive failure of its foreign policy in the Middle East, the Obama Administration is blaming…used car salesmen.

ISISToyotas

“US officials reportedly question Toyota over how ISIS obtained SUVs, pick-up trucks spotted in videos,” Fox News, October 6, 2015:

U.S. officials have asked Toyota how ISIS has managed to acquire a large number of SUVs and pick-up trucks spotted in the terror group’s propaganda videos, ABC News reported Tuesday.

Videos released by the terror group in the past year show gunmen patrolling streets in Syria in older and newer model Hilux pick-up trucks with the black caliphate seal displayed on flags on the vehicle’s hoods and traveling through Libya in caravans of Toyota Land Cruisers.

The inquiry led by the Terror Financing unit of the Treasury Department is part of U.S. efforts to prevent ISIS from obtaining Western-made goods.

The world’s second largest auto maker told ABC News it doesn’t know how ISIS obtained the vehicles and has a “strict policy to not sell vehicles to potential purchasers who may use or modify them for paramilitary or terrorist activities.”

Ed Lewis, Toyota’s Washington-based director of public policy and communications, told ABC News that is impossible for the company to track vehicles that have been stolen, or have been bought and re-sold by middlemen….

“We are spending our time to fight those terrorists so we cannot say we are controlling the border between Iraq and Syria,” Brigadier General Saad Maan said. “We are deeply in need for answers.”

How saad, maan.

Obama is a useless bum. Despite having the most advanced warplanes n the most advanced satellites’ spying, he could not bomb ISIS out of existence. He now starts pointing fingers.
I think Russia alone can destroy ISIS as US could not do the job.

Let’s agree on this. Obama is “a useless bum”, but the U.S. with its powerful military could “do the job” against ISIS if willing to do so, but Obama for his reasons does not want to wipe out ISIS. Putin recognizes this and already has put war planes into Syria and is bombing ISIS – and Obama’s and John McCain’s ‘rebel’ buddies in Syria with missiles from naval vessels. Did we ever notice American naval vessels firing missiles on ISIS like they did on Baghdad? No! Of course not, they might kill more ISIS members than Obama wants to kill in his pretense that he is serious about fighting ISIS. When in New York last week President el-Sisi when interviewed by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, made clear that he does not think so. His attitude is one of ‘America has the most powerful military in the world and against ISIS this is the best it can do?’ These ‘rebel’ buddies are the same ones who rape Christian women and savagely murder Christian men, non-Muslims and other Muslim men, but in Obama’s mind never worry because those are not his savages. This president is an evil man and this much is evident.

All vehicles have ID’, invoices, cargo ships documents ….unless they were made in ME.

I have always wondered about who sold isis these very nice vehicles, assumed they were left behind when the U.S. pulled out of Iraq. Isis has so much cash, they could make special purchases maybe purchased a dealership, or old rehabed ship. Surprising that it took so long for U.S. officials to ask these questions. It would be nice if someone would slip a faulty naviagation chip, so they could be tracked. But they are always 10 steps ahead of a very thick, processing 1000 page administrative process. It seems our government need streamlining, modernization and quick action departments. Plus course in Islam and money flow of MB.before it is too late.

Pathetic that US “officials” need to ask Toyota such questions.

Surely US intelligence and the US military have a rough idea where ISIS gets their equipment from. Hasn’t Toyota been selling vehicles in the Middle east for decades? Is it not possible that ISIS “appropriated” these vehicles when they took over a large amount territory (an area bigger than the UK) in Syria and Iraq? Isn’t it possible there were many Toyota pickup trucks in those areas for ISIS to “appropriate”?? Isn’t there a well documented stolen vehicle trafficking network going between western countries and the Middle East? Isn’t there vehicle theft in Middle Eastern countries?

This sounds like a US government effort to deflect attention from its own failures to deal effectively with ISIS. I can just imagine some nameless US federal bureaucrat thinking, “Yeah. We can deflect blame from ourselves to Toyota!!! Great idea!!! We can make it look like Toyota is to blame for all this.”

Next thing we know, these same bureaucrats may be blaming US military equipment manufacturers for supplying ISIS with all those artillery pieces, tanks, HumVees, munitions and whatever else ISIS “appropriated” from the Iraqi army.

A little off topic but not really. Aside from how the Islamic State obtained these Toyotas, which admittedly is of interest in and of itself, it is not of no significance that the kind of mindset which makes up the members of the Islamic State could have never produced something like these Toyotas in the first place.

In short, we see once again the Islamic world in complete parasitic mode. The Islamic world on its own over the past half millennium has produced virtually nothing that benefits mankind. Yes, NOTHING. And please don’t get me started on the “glories” of medieval Islam. There’s another crock of shit if ever there were one.

Islam takes and uses, it uses and takes, but it contributes virtually nothing at all to mankind’s benefit. For instance, does anyone of sense and knowledge think that the Gulf Oil States, if left to their own devices over the past eighty years and devoid of Western technology, would have figured out how to extract their petroleum reserves from the ground?

Oh yeah, Islam, thy name is PARASITE. Big time. It is one of your many deficiencies. And, after all, there are so many. Sometimes the number seems countless. Herein lies, Islam, your real legacy—–that is if truth prevails, yet another “positive” that Islam has nothing in common with.

You guessed it, serve up that crock of shit for dinner. Feeling low on energy? That’s right a big spoon from the crock of shit will perk you up. What? want to wax your neighbors car? Crock of shit.

          Oct 8, 2015 at 3:12 pm

To Mach37 and all fellow JW readers – re informing the Left –

I was just given by a leftist friend whom I have been trying to educate about Islam the book, “What Everyone Needs to Know about Islam”, by John L Esposito. The author has an impressive curriculum vitae, and it seems he and the Center for Muslim–Christian Understanding at Georgetown University Esposito heads up have been funded by Saudi Arabia’s HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, who donated $20,000,000 to found and fund this department in 1993.

The book is laid out in an interesting format; the chapters are all questions a non-muslim might have, so one can jump from question to question, chapter to chapter, depending on the questions a reader might have.

Esposito does not include Prince Alwaleed in his acknowledgements in this book, but I did a little research and found the Prince. In what I could find, he is presented as very rich ($23 billion, as I recall), a saintly philanthropist and a Saudi Arabian who wants nothing more than a “better” understanding of “the religion of peace” by non-muslims.

My friend told me she wanted me to read a book “from the other point of view” and I’d like to give a powerful response to her about where this thinking comes from. I am reading the book by jumping around the chapters. So far, no surprises.

My question to all JW readers is this: Does anyone know of any past activities or funding by Prince Alwaleed that show him to be pro-jihad or global caliphate? Please share links or knowledge of Alwaleed’s background, anything I might tell my liberal lefty friend. The book she has given me is completely in keeping with a Muslim apologist’s thinking. I would like to document anything I say about Prince Alwaleed. I would of course also be interested in any tidbits about Esposito, a 75 yr-old academic originally from Brooklyn.

Thanks so much in advance to any of you who can help me enlighten her…if that is possible.

          Cheers!

          Quotha R

I agree, the Toyota question is a media distraction now ( curious one) the obama administration is placing our soldiers in a dangerous position with Russian fighter jets and missles. The news media seems confused and states that the U.S. is fighting Isis, or is, when it is Russia who is angered at the brutality of Isis going after Christians and Jews, and also wants to take out Russian soldiers who slipped in to Syria to aid is so they don’t return home. Obama just wants to hurt another “car industry”, and demand money like he will with VW., and views Christians as “right wing extremist”. Meanwhile Israel is under attack, here at home we are having jihadist attacks he never admits it is jihadist connections, blames the guns that jumps into the jihadist hand, who then shoot people but never identifies them and blames conservatives. So to protect us he has plans for refugees, an imported group of young men with money and maybe a set of keys. Or to disguise themselves drive klunkers.

I agree with Wellington above: OFFS.

Our supplying military arms and equipment to the “rebels”, the “insurgents”, “Free Syria Army”, the “moderates” in Syria began a long time ago. Does anyone remember the activities in Benghazi this treacherous administration (specifically Obama and Hillary, but certainly a plot including CIA bosses and god knows how many others) tried to fool the American people with a totally fake story about a really stupid video (I saw it: it was amateurish and simply foolish, badly made, nothing that would ever, EVER have gone “viral” in the ME, causing terrorist attacks in retaliation) being the cause of the attack on a CIA field office, usually referred (in error or by design) as “the consul”, resulting in the deaths of four Americans, including Chris Stevens, the ambassador? No help was forthcoming from the oval office or the state department for these sitting ducks; potential military assistance was ordered to “stand down.”

Sorry. The more charged up with anger I get, the longer and more convoluted my sentences become.

Does anyone share my belief that we were supplying arms and military equipment to our enemies, moving them from Benghazi through Turkey and into Syria? Well, that’s what I believe. And I also believe that ultimately ISIS or “ISIL” as Obama prefers to call it, as ISIL includes the Levant, eliminating Israel, is strictly an invention of the USA, and that we and our “allies” (who orchestrated 9/11) Saudi Arabia, continue to supply them with whatever they need to fill the pockets of the military-industrial complex that supports the oligarchy that runs what.used to be the greatest country on the planet.

Does anyone remember that bizarre photo of the long line of shiny NEW Toyotas ISIS was convoying in Syria about a year ago? Where did THEY come from, do you think? Remember that for some reason the US Military in all its glory was unable to take that convoy out? No disrespect for our military, I hasten to add, just abhorrence for the rules of engagement and orders from on high, as high as the commander in chief, such as he is.

Yeah, right. Let’s collect all the VIN numbers and ask Toyota WTF. Sounds like a plan.

Lets not forget, Japan will be in the Muslim sights some time in the future ..
