Five more Syrians stopped at Texas border — 13 in the past week

Nov 22, 2015 12:14 pm By Robert Spencer

Obama is avid to bring in Syrian refugees legally. So why sneak in, unless one has nefarious plans?

Texas border

“Five Syrians Stopped at Laredo International Bridge One,” by Valerie Gonzalez, KGNS.tv, November 21, 2015:

Five more Syrians have been stopped at a Laredo port of entry on Friday. This brings the total number of Syrians seeking to enter the US through our city this week up to 13.

According to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security, five Syrian nationals presented themselves at the Gateway to the Americas Bridge. A family consisting of a man, woman and child, and two other men were taken into custody by Customs and Border Protection — a standard procedure.

The statement reads that CBP “checked their identities against numerous law enforcement and national security related databases. Records checks revealed no derogatory information about the individuals. CBP turned them over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further processing and placement in an ICE facility.”…

Now, now. Questions like that would be racist!

Sure they were all headed for the same place……..America….

Just because they. …”Presented themselves”… don’t mean that they are harmless.

What databases? Nonexistent ones in Syria? The unreliable Interpol database that can be lied around or simply eluded? Do all the members of the dozens of jihad groups in Syria declare they are members of these jihad groups, for the sake of our policemen? Syrian i.d. is inevitably faked anyway, no one knows for sure who these people really are. Witness the case of Abu Oud, a wanted man in Belgium, photo widely circulated, who traveled back and forth from Syria and the Islamic State with relative ease to recruit for ISIS and plot jihad attacks, culminating in Paris. Houston, we have a problem.

Are we going to learn what these 13 were doing in Laredo or is the Administration going to make this story go away? (“no derogatory information” might be a clue).

13 in the past week. And these are only the ones we’ve caught. Something is amiss. Why are they all going through Texas? How did they know to go there in the first place?

Donald Trump is building his case for a wall.

Why are they all going though Texas? Because the U.S. shares boarders with2 countries. Canada and Mexico. It’s much easier to go through Mexico than Canada. Other states, I’m sure there are and will be others. New Mexico, Arizona and California. The refugees that where “caught” where not caught or apprehended. The first step for a refugee is:
STEP ONE: Arrive in the U.S.
To apply for asylum in the U.S., you must be physically present in the U.S. or seeking entry into the U.S. at a port of entry.
From the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service.
You must be physically present on U.S. soil. These people were at “Ports of Entry” and presented themselves to INS officers. Exactly what they should have done. Our Governor down here blew this out of proportion with his statements implying that these refugees were trying to sneak in illegally. They were not.

Can we please call sneaking across the border ” derogatory”?

So instead of simply escorting them back across the border, we are going to feed, house, and clothe them at taxpayer expense for a while. Anyone care to make a prediction as to when the Government will finally get around to deporting them? Hint – NEVER.

Turning them over is the first step. Determining their status as refugees is also part of the process.

“Obama is avid to bring in Syrian refugees legally. So why sneak in, unless one has nefarious plans?”

IMO what is happening is that since the “Syrian refugees” have had such incredible success getting into Europe, they have become more confident and are now aiming for the US. They most likely know that the Left will fight tooth and nail to keep them from being sent back!

As for why they are doing it despite the fact that Obama is avid to bring them in legally, imo it is because coming in legally is a lot more work (bureaucracy), takes a lot more time, and the refugee application can still be denied. OTOH if they simply move in, things not only become a lot easier (because the Left takes over most of their headache), but the chance of getting ejected becomes next to nothing.

Note: The above analysis in no way rules out that these could be IS people sneaking in with ulterior motives.

They should drop them off at one of the uninhabited Aleutian islands until we can figure out what to do with them.

To make the libtards and Democrats happy we could give it a new name like “Sanctuary Island”.
They wanted to come to America so I think we have the obligation to satisfy them.

We need to question the meaning of *derogatory* the agency that checked for information uses before we can know just who these guys might be, where they will end up based on what ICE does with them based on the definition and what is the goal of these people who were breaking the law by trying to enter in an illegal way.

The way information gets into the data base is when they have committed a crime, had their fingerprints taken for one of several reasons, fought against American forces someplace and if they had ever entered the country before…or any of other *reasons* the government may have for choosing to keep facts on people from other countries.

And just like *converts* in this country take new names to signify, and criminals may have many aliases, these people might have given names that weren’t listed as *derogatory* and yet, could still be someone on a watch list in some data base. The government agencies are supposed to share information…that was part of the 9/11 Commission Report, but they don’t necessarily do so.

At least they are being caught.

They really should all be deported back to Syria.

Au Contraire Robert, We don’t want play into the hands of ISIS.
Ever thoughtful, Obama gave us the heads up on this.

Shouldn’t we have trains and busses at the border loaded up with diapers for all the three month old toddlers and to ferry the illegals into the US much quicker like the EU does? What could go wrong?
By stopping the Syrian refugees from sneaking into the US illegally — we are playing into the hands of ISIS with Islamophobia.

This must be true because Obama says so.

A liberal friend assured me all the Syrians coming into the US would be “carefully vetted”.. I asked him how? Would they phone Syria, ask for “the mosque”, and ask the imam “we’re they on your moderate list, or your extremist list?…” If you ask me, Libs have a deathwish.
