Obama said: “What I’m not interested in doing is posing or pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning or whatever other slogans they come up with that has no relationship to what is actually gonna work to protect the American people and to protect people in the region.”
Limbaugh points out just what is wrong and odd about this: “America winning has no relationship to protecting the American people?” Indeed, how can that be?
“Limbaugh: Obama not interested in winning against ISIS,” by Joe Kovacs, WND, November 16, 2015:
In the wake of the Paris terror attacks last week, radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh says President Obama has no interest in winning against the Islamic terror group ISIS.
At a news conference Monday, Obama was asked if his “reluctance to enter another Middle East war and [his] preference of diplomacy over using the military makes the U.S. weaker and emboldens our enemies.”
Obama responded: “Some of [my critics] seem to think that if I were just more bellicose in expressing what we’re doing, that that would make a difference, because that seems to be the only thing that they’re doing is talking as if they’re tough. Folks want to pop off and have opinions about what they think they would do, present a specific plan. What I’m not interested in doing is posing or pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning or whatever other slogans they come up with that has no relationship to what is actually gonna work to protect the American people and to protect people in the region.”
What do YOU think? Can America survive another year of Obama? Sound off in today’s WND poll
That comment set Limbaugh off, who asked, “Did I just hear what I just heard?”
“If America winning doesn’t have any relationship to what’s gonna work, then what the hell are we working on? What’s the point?”
“He really makes the case here,” Limbaugh continued, “that this is bitter clinger rabble-rousing. It’s just insignificant. This idea of America winning, it’s so backwards. We intellectuals are so far beyond the concept of America winning. That’s not what this is about. We’re not in this to win. That’s not why we’re doing what we’re doing. That’s his point of view here. American leadership, America winning, other slogans we can come up with. I’m not interested in that. That has no relationship to what’s actually gonna work to protect the American people. America winning has no relationship to protecting the American people?
“This is arrogant condescension and the whole idea here about winning and victory, intellectuals, in their world, that is blue-collar stuff, that’s hayseed, hick stuff, talking about winning and this and that. The intellectuals know there is no winning. There’s just containment. There’s appeasement, there’s cooperation, coalition. Winning? Come on, don’t waste my time. We’re so beyond winning. In his vaunted world of superior intelligence and being, winning is such a passe thing. Leadership, it’s so irrelevant to the real world today. But he wasn’t finished. He then lectured everybody on how we have to accept Muslims as well as Christians or we’re all just a bunch of bigots.”
Limbaugh said Americans citizens are truly concerned about attacks within our borders now, especially in the wake of what happened in Paris as well as the ongoing influx of Muslim “refugees” from Syria into the United States. He says government officials, including the president, want Americans to deny reality.
“They’re asking us to not believe exactly what we see,” he explained. “They’re asking us to deny common sense. They’re asking us to deny what’s rational. They want us to believe them. ‘Ah, it’s workplace violence.’ Really? Allahu Akbar. It happens every day.”…

Richard Fernandez adds…
*Since assuming office in 2009, president Obama has pursued a policy of buying off the grievances of Islamism, probably in the sincere belief this would work better in the long run than resisting it.
…much of the Western elite thinks like the president. Like the politicians and Brussels, Obama may have truly believed the PC universe was the wave of the future, and may still believe it, however badly it is falling apart. During the recent Democratic Party presidential debate, nearly every candidate promised to fight a sort of generic extremism—which ISIS would not recognize, but which is on the lips of every college campus in America.
The goal may now be to salvage failed policy by doing its opposite, thereby allowing it to claim some success. There is no choice. With his vaunted containment falling apart, Obama must do something. Even he can’t let Paris burn. Rather than ending two wars, his term is finishing on a bleak scene of destruction covering the whole Middle East and North Africa to which has been added conflict in Ukraine, a flashpoint with China and the specter of urban warfare in Western Europe.
The challenge is how to portray this as victory. While it is too much to expect the Western elite to admit error, it seems likely that reality may force them to modify positions out of sheer necessity. The administration will probably finish out its term stumbling from one crisis to the other, in an ad hoc attempt to cope with unanticipated challenges made all the more surprising by being unthinkable in their universe.*

Obama is vapid in the extreme. There’s really not much there “there.”
Yes, yes, I know that there will be those who argue that Obama knows exactly what he is doing, but I would argue that whether this highly limited man does what he does because he is consciously enabling Islam or does what he does without being aware that he is enabling Islam amounts to essentially the same thing, to wit, vapidity.
He is a man of tremendous of tremendous limits, REGARDLESS of motive.
Don McKellar says
Being intellectually limited and vapid is a characteristic of all devout moslems. Islam is all about shutting down the abstract thinking process. It is all about following a dictated course of actions and philosophy. As a result, moslems are all very predictable in what they’ll do in any situation. Just like Obama. Robert Spencer has predicted virtually every single thing he has done and any choice he would make, provided the information was made public. There are no surprises with Obama; he is complete consistent and linear. His thinking and actions are truly Islamic.
Jay Boo says
It is as if Obama is trying to tell us,
(“Can’t we just move on, — and oh, BTW what difference does it really make”)
I would bet that even if his own children were victims in Paris, his (“Can’t we just move on”) response would still be the exact same in order not to give any appearance of offence toward Islam.
However, he was not so “vapid in the extreme” or indifferent either, when a preacher threatened to fire up a Koran in a glorious roaring blaze. He was popping full of teeth gritting moral indignation and likely had his speechwriters working overtime all week.

Obama simply doesn’t know what to do. That’s clear when he asks his critics for their specific plans. And this is one Obama policy that makes sense. We’ve tried non-intervention, it didn’t work (Afghanistan pre-9/11). We tried full intervention, it didn’t work (Afghanistan, Iraq), and limited intervention (Libya, Syria, Yemen), it didn’t work. Containment is the most we should do at this point.
The West needs to learn from its mistakes and stand back. This is a conflagration it cannot possibly quell given the determined ignorance about its true origin. Let it burn itself out, while keeping a sharp watch for the embers it throws off.

EYESOPEN says
You are absolutely correct. If the U.S. wanted to “send a message” to the Taliban and al qaeda after 9/11, we should have done exactly that – and no more. No “nation building”. No “making the world safe for democracy”. None of that. That sort of crap is exactly what our founders warned against.
If, because of an attack on our nation and its people, we decide that we need to send a “discouraging word” (or two), the idea is to go in, do the job that was specified – without regard to idiotic ROEs that tend to get our soldiers killed or imprisoned here – and then leave. Letting the enemy know that this was just a warning.
Unfortunately, idiotic presidents with a Wilsonian delusion have not allowed that to happen. Pity.
Westman says
Perhaps you could talk to Russia and France about the policy of containment.
The West could easily “win” but we are afraid to use the level of brutality that ended WWII, thinking that the world has moved beyond that requirement. In the end, we will use unprecedented force after trying everything else because it will be the only means left.

My impression was that he was very tricky and manipulative in the way he spoke and that I would trust him for nothing. I could not believe people would go for his jive talking.
However, today I would express the same opinion as Limbaugh gives here. What surprises me is how articulate and effective is the Limbaugh critique. I didn’t know he could do that.

He gives clock boy a visit to the White House, but what about that dead kid in Chicago–HIS hometown? His silence speaks volumes. Don’t #blacklivesmatter? Isn’t it really still about the oil? Petrodollars? Too much testosterone and rapey dreams of the young adult male recruits to jihadism? Competing profiteering of empire and dueling patriarchal elites? Sure, the Quran says some appalling and horrible things. Sure, Islamic terrorists currently kill far more people than other activists with a cause, and have done so over the past century or so. (Suffragettes, largely Christian, for example, a century ago at most engaged in property damage and then only after being abused with beatings, forced incarceration and forced feeding — in response to their nonviolent hunger strikes — for extended periods by male law enforcers they had not voted or elected.)
At one time Christians and Jews were involved — centuries ago mainly, then there’s the IRA more recently — in major murderous violence for conquest or separatism. The Bible (Jewish scriptures) speaks of beheading, rape as a tactic, on and on, lots of it not pretty, bloodcurdling actually as horror. The Bible (post-Jesus scriptures) speak of justifying slavery and subjugating women. Jews and Christians mainly outgrew the scripturally sanctioned blood lust for conquest (if not for inequality), and militant Muslims have not.
But the problem seems to be in the human (mainly male) predisposition to follow authoritarian prescriptions of imperialism and hostile control in various forms including the horrors of Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, countless other dictators from around the world whose henchmen murdered and maimed those they’d “othered” in or out of their own countries. Boko Haram is a notable horrific 21st example of nightmarish oppression against people who live near the principals conducting the rampages. My own heritage from first nations people, indigenous to North America, was systematically disrespected by white male colonization and, yes, replete with ancestors’ victimization by mass murder.
The point of view about what to do about “terrorism” really depends so to speak on whose ox is getting gored, and who is reaping the profits, doesn’t it?
ekbano says
scotfourowls you are twisted. Your glib claims re “The Bible; jewish scriptures, and post Jesus”, are uninformed. Let me put it like this: If Noddy drives his car to visit Big Ears and travels through the land of Jellybean, where everyone is bean-shaped and has a shiny sugar coating, does not make Noddy or Big Ears advocates of having a shiny sugar coating, nor being bean shaped. The Bible makes mention of many things, but the only thing it advocates in both Old and New Testaments is the fear of God and the mercy of God, and the working out of the will of God as the proof of God.
To misrepresent the message is not helpful to your point. (Which I dont understand.)

It never ceases to amaze me why people want to live their entire lives complaining about what happened in the past to their ancestors, rather than embracing the freedoms they themselves possess to make of themselves whatever they choose. And they always whitewash (is that a racist term?) their own history of rape, pillage, plunder, genocide and imperialism. Many of the native American tribes were constantly at war with one another, fighting over land, kidnapping children, enslaving members of other tribes, etc. But the US is the epitome of all evil to them, always seeing only the bad, never the good. And they never see the bad in any other country’s histories. If all of these other places were so wonderful, why did everyone want to leave and come to America?

Obama sees the world in which humans are vessels containing ideology. So an Arab is fine, it’s just the ideology that’s the problem. And the ideology is not necessarily bad, it’s just a bad version of the ideology, which can be corrected, especially in children. This is ironic for a guy who’s a racist and an ideologue. But he sees himself as the perfect vessel, a mulato, half black and half white, and he sees his ideology as the best, globo-socialist environmentalist racist sexist (G.S.E.R.S.). It is only that others don’t understand, and fixing that is a matter of communication, and the best way to communicate is to transform the demographics of the nation, organic speech. The votes and padded welfare roles are only perks, the real point is to have people who are not white and if possible not Judeo-Christian.
Hope and change is what’s possible. We’re getting the change in heaps, so too is booming here the hope that that all the force fed change won’t result in economic disaster, deteriorated quality of life, and mass murder violence. Here’s hoping, cuz this dude’s the commander in chief and we’re gonna get the change. For example, I didn’t see Hillary at the debate this weekend defending her role in the Arab Spring, which has now resulted in the Infidel Winter.

You question, “what side is he on? What is his true motivation?” Most explain our president’s actions as as series of mishaps, or that he is a committed leftist. THESE MODELS OF HIS BEHAVIOR ONLY EXPLAIN HALF HIS ACTIONS. What about the other half? Our president is a master Islamic tactician who uses Marxist theory to get leftists to do his bidding. He is very good at hiding his true motives. Ignore what he says, and judge him from his actions. ● It was you who curtailed the military tribunals of all Islamic terrorists.
● It was you who refused to condemn the Ft. Hood killer as an Islamic terrorist.
● It is you who has refused to speak-out concerning the horrific executions of women throughout the Muslim culture, but yet, have submitted Arizona to the UN for investigation of hypothetical human-rights abuses.
● It was you who, when queried in India, refused to acknowledge the true extent of radical global Jihadists, and instead profusely praised Islam in a country that is 82% Hindu and the victim of numerous Islamic terrorists assaults.
● It was you who funneled $900 Million in US taxpayer dollars to Hamas.
● It was you who ordered the USPS to honor the MUSLIM holiday with a new commemorative stamp.

● It is you who follows the Muslim custom of not wearing any form of jewelry during Ramadan.
● It is you who departs for Hawaii over the Christmas season so as to avoid past criticism for NOT participating in seasonal WH religious events.
● It was you who was uncharacteristically quick to join the chorus of the Muslim Brotherhood to depose Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak, formerly America’s strongest ally in North Africa; but, remain muted in your non-response to the Brotherhood led slaughter of Egyptian Christians.
● It was you who appointed your chief adviser, Valerie Jarrett, an Iranian, who is a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, an off-shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.
● It was you who said this country is not a Christian nation.

To this (above) I add:
It is you whose long form birth certificate, a complete fraud, brought to the surface by Mr. Trump, which says your father was born in Kenya, yet Kenya was not Kenya until 1963. You were born on 4 Aug 1961.
Kenya was the British East African Protectorate until 1963. Therefore, no valid birth certificate issued in 1961 would have said “Kenya.” The certificate supposedly produced in Hawaii was a complete fabrication. I, sir, possess an image of your real birth certificate which shows you were born in the “Coast Hospital,” Mombassa, British East Africa, on 4 July 1961.
Moreover, your long form bogus birth certificate reads that your father was Afro-American, when that term was not used until after 1963.
Furthermore, you addressed a Jakarta crowd in November 2010 (I saw you on a live TV feed) fluently in the Bahasa-Indonesian language. You, having lived in that Muslim country for at least 10 years, cannot pronounce the Hawaiian name “Kapiolani” correctly, but you claimed to have lived there at least eight or ten years.
Moreover, I am an established linguist who lived in Hawaii 38 months, to include about twelve more years outside the contiguous 48 States, and I know how to say Princess Kapiolani’s name perfectly.
You, sir, are an imposter! No less than an illegal alien!
