TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) – The Assistant Attorney General for National Security has announced the indictment of four men with Ohio ties who are charged with providing material support to Al Qaeda.
The men are charged with conspiring to travel to Yemen to provide thousands of dollars to support violent jihad against U.S. military personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan and throughout the world.
Yahya Farooq Mohammad, 37; Ibrahim Zubair Mohammad, 36; Asif Ahmed Salim, 35; and Sultane Room Salim, 40, were each indicted.
Ibrahim Mohammed was arrested Wednesday in Texas, but had been living previously living in Toledo. Farooq Mohammed and Asif Salim were both former students at The Ohio State University. Sultane Salim had lived in the Columbus area.
Sultane Salim was arrested Wednesday in Columbus and will be in federal court in Toledo Wednesday afternoon.
