In FrontPage today I discuss how the Islamic State is taking the jihad against the non-Muslim world to a new level:
The likelihood that the Russian Metrojet Flight 7K9268 was downed by an Islamic State (ISIS) bomb planted on board demonstrates anew that the free world’s response to the self-styled caliphate so far remains woefully inadequate to meet the challenges that this jihad terror entity presents.
The first problem that this plane crash reveals is that analysts are still underestimating ISIS. Barack Obama famously dubbed it “the JV team” back in January 2014. One would think that after the Islamic State declared itself the new caliphate on June 29, 2014, seized and continues to hold a territory larger than Great Britain in Iraq and Syria, gained the allegiance of older jihad groups in the Philippines, Nigeria, Libya, Yemen and elsewhere, and attracted 30,000 foreign jihadis to join it from all over the world, that this estimation would have been revised upward.
No such luck. James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, said Monday that he thought it “unlikely” that the Islamic State brought down the plane, although he wouldn’t rule out the possibility altogether. An Egyptian airport security official, meanwhile, dismissed the possibility of ISIS involvement altogether, saying it was incapable of mounting such an attack. “Such groups take advantage of such incidents to prove they are powerful on the ground,” he said. Referring to the Islamic State’s claims to have downed the airliner, he added: “Assuming they are right, why have they not targeted Egyptian or military flights during battle fights with Egyptian military? As far as I am aware, such a group has no weapons to reach an aircraft flying over 9,000 metres.”
Maybe not. ISIS had other ways of getting the job done: “There is a definite feeling it was an explosive device planted in luggage or somewhere on the plane,” said a U.S. official.
The persistence of the underestimation of ISIS only gives the group room to maneuver, and to carry out without hindrance operations that those who have vowed to stop it don’t think it is capable of pulling off.
Another principal problem that the downing of the Russian airliner reveals is that current air security measures are completely ineffective. Who planted the explosive device in luggage or somewhere on the plane? Since a passenger would have had to get the explosive materials through security screening, it was likely an Islamic State operative who was an employee of the airport or airline and was thus able to pass through security with lessened suspicion, avoiding undue scrutiny.
At Sharm el-Sheikh Airport in Egypt, there could be any number of such people, but American TSA officials should not consider themselves immune to this problem. There are numerous Muslims working in sensitive positions in airports in the U.S., and no one would dream of doing something so “Islamophobic” as to question them about their loyalties.
Maybe a little such “Islamophobia” is called for: Harlem Suarez, a Florida convert to Islam implicated in an Islamic State WMD plot, worked in secure areas at Key West International Airport. Another airport worker, Tairod Nathan Webster Pugh, according to Heavy.com, “converted to Islam in 1998 while living in Texas and became radical in his beliefs, according to ABC News. In 2001, while Pugh was a mechanic for American Airlines, a coworker reported to the FBI that Pugh said he sympathized with Osama bin Laden and was expressing anti-American sentiment” Abdirahmaan Muhumed, a Muslim from Minnesota who was killed while waging jihad with the Islamic State, worked for Delta Airlines at the Minneapolis Airport. For its part, the TSA failed to identify 73 workers who were “linked to terrorism.”
A plane could easily be down in a similar way here. Both the U.S. and Russia have vowed to destroy the Islamic State, and even before that, the ISIS caliph Ibrahim, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, identified those two nations as the caliphate’s main enemies: “O ummah of Islam,” he said in his inaugural message on being named caliph, “indeed the world today has been divided into two camps and two trenches, with no third camp present: The camp of Islam and faith, and the camp of kufr (disbelief) and hypocrisy—the camp of the Muslims and the mujahidin everywhere, and the camp of the jews, the crusaders, their allies, and with them the rest of the nations and religions of kufr, all being led by America and Russia, and being mobilized by the jews.” (Al-Baghdadi, or his typographer, made the decision not to capitalize “Jews.”)
America and Russia. Both have now tasted the jihadis’ ability to use passenger airliners as weapons of war against the countries from which they originated. Given the inadequacy of the U.S. response to ISIS, America at least, if not Russia, is likely to see much more of this.

No doubt, the saboteur used an improvised electronic clock timer concealed in a pencil case to detonate the device.

Only to impress his teacher, mind.
If airport security had found it, would it have been over reaction?
Can Dr Ben Carson report to the White house now!

Putin will punish ISIS for this atrocity, while Obama would just lob a few missiles at ISIS if they did that to an American plane.
Alarmed Pig Farmer says
Putin offended New Caliph Ibrahim in two ways. He claimed his fighter bomber planes and ground forces were there to attack ISIS, a lie, but he still said it, and even ran a few fake sorties over Raqqa way and dropped a bomb or two, and he teamed up with Bashar and his patron the Supreme Leader on the Shia side to oppose Sunnis, who take a dark view of such things instead of a sunny view.
The key to this particular mass murder was the ideology of the ground workers at the Sharm el-Sheikh airport. That is be the ideology Islam, which commands and endorses mass murder for the crime of Infidels spreading mischief in the land. The news entertainers talk about the ground workers as a troubled group incited by this or that, but don’t mention that the mass murder they did qualifies them hearty congratulations, taking the assumption that Islam is a great religion. So why isn’t Bill O’Reilly popping corks from champaign bottles on his show to toast the ground workers? Instead he is condemning them, which confuses me to no end, cuz I’ve read the Holy Ko-Ran, and by the lights of that book these guys are heroes.
Mike says
It’s also possible that a ground worker had their family threatened or something similar.
That’s even harder to detect than extremists.
Now we know why Israel has “racist” and “discriminatory” procedures at the airport.
It’s sad, but there’s no other way, until Islamofascists are vanquished worldwide.
PRCS says
A sunny view.
He. He.

Delta Airlines at its Mpls-St Paul hub at least makes almost exclusive use of Moslimas to clean airplanes between flights. These workers, in addition to being very rude to Infidel crew members, especially the female flight attendants (once called stewardesses), operate within the security bubble around the airport. It’d be easy for one to attach an altitude-sensitive plastic explosive under a seat when cleaning an airplane.
TJFreedomjihad says
As most often the case, APF, you’ve covered the correct thoughts and facts, that perhaps can and ought to be said, and what I would say. Greatest danger comes from the gang members employed inside the ‘wire’ – bubble.
At some point, civilization will wake up, get some plain old timey good manners, shed PC and multiculty, and maybe return to the knowledge of the importance of returning to the Principles and wisdoms of Judeo Christianity.

When Adolf Hitler threatened the world, the British, French, Russian, and American leaders joined forces to defeat him and his allies. Unfortunately there is NO American leader to join the fight – not just yet.

Russians and Russia will not be as tolerant of the scum as we Westerners are. I hope they wipe ISIL out sooner rather than later.
The monster that is ISIL is entirely created by the United States. There was not a problem in Syria until US (and its cronies Turkey and Saudi Arabia) demanding Assad to step down.
Mike says
Russians might mouth PC platitudes, but they don’t act on them. Brutality is their calling card.
I can wish ISIS no better enemy.
EYESOPEN says
I’m with you on that one.
Mazo says
Russia acts very well in its PC platitutudes, it forks over billions of rubbles to Chechnya every year to keep it in the Russian Federation, its Defence Minister is the result of miscegenafion between a Russian woman and a Mongoloid and Russian women have a higher rate of miscegention to non white men than any European ethnicity.
In South Korea and Taiwan, random western European and American women walking alone in the streets run the risk of getting confused for a Russian prostitute.
More Ham Ed says
“The monster that is ISIL [sic] is entirely created by the United States.” Yah, we went back in time and wrote the unholy ko ‘ran too.
“There was not a problem in Syria until [sic] US…” lemme check if I heard you right, did you say “There was not a ko ‘ran in syria until the U.S….”
gravenimage says
Good post, Ed. The fact is that Christians have been threatened in Syria for many years–since long before the US came on the scene.
Right now, violent Muslims are becoming further emboldened all over the world–including many places where the US has no presence or influence whatsoever.
Rob says
Is this Putin’s MH17 moment?
TJFreedomjihad says
Rob, It appears to be so. Fox news just reported, before 2 pm EST, an examiner stated the sound of an explosion could be distinctly heard on the tape in the audio time stream of a black box. So it is a definite Lockerbie type deal, bringing Russia-Putin directly into play.
My condolences to the families who lost loved ones.
And so inevitably the jihad of the mad psycho criminal gang of islam widens….
I hope sometime, we find a Martel, a Sobieski, among the world. It is the proven only type thing they regard. Hopefully, this time stamp them out at least as well as the nazis, who still live in tiny groups, in places.
Walter Sieruk says
That ISIS murdered all those people on that aircraft should be of no surprise to anyone at all. For all those cruel ,vicious and murderous jihadist thugs who compose the brutal and deadly jihad entity of ISIS know how to do is murder ,main, and destroy. The ISIS villains are the products or fruits of what some still have the gall to call “the peaceful religion of Islam.”
Pong says
My condolences to the families on their irreplaceable loss. The worst is that they did not die, fighting for their country, or after painful illness. Those there mostly young, healthy people with children on holiday. And the other terrible side of it, that in great part it was self-inflicted. Almost like a suicide.
It is difficult to understand how people can choose Egypt, Bali or similar places as a holiday destination and even take children with them. It is what is called – criminal negligence. How anybody can take their children to a place were their lives could be in danger, is beyond my understanding of a role of the parents. So, may be Russia did not suffer such a great loss after all.
Lu says
What was self-inflicted? – Full responsibility for this mass murder falls on whoever plotted the bomb. And yes – believe me, Mr. Pong – the people of Russia did suffered a big loss – counter to what you insinuate.
EYESOPEN says
These scum keep calling Christians “Crusaders”. I’ve got news for them. If they push this crap over the edge, they are likely to find out the REAL meaning of “Crusader”.
nabi ZK (pbum) says
Our “coalition” partners fund and equip terrorists as a strategy to confront Iran and Russia over Assad, as do we. Putin said, at the UN, that America is responsible for the rise of ISIS. Now ISIS has killed many Russian civilians. How unfortunate that John McCain said just recently that we should send anti aircraft systems to the “moderate” jihadi monsters, so they can shoot down Russian planes. How unfortunate that Obama had to predict that the Russians would get their fingers burned because of involvement in Syria. Such clairvoyance. Perhaps he is a nabi, like yours truly nabi ZK (pbum). Oh, and also there is economic warfare against Russia and Iran by our “coalition partner” Saudi Arabia, who have tanked the price of oil. Could we possibly be involved in formulating such a strategy? Who is the junior partner here? This all seems kinda dangerous to the nabific one. Just food for thought.

How to blow up an Airbus A321 in mid air
with a tiny clock on a countdown..
Dead easy..
Program a tiny clock that at the end of the countdown it will make a tiny spark
and throw that clock in the fuel tank of the Airbus just before it takes off
at the start of it’s refueling just before the flight.
Very Clever..
So no one will ever find evidence of a bomb in the Airbus A321
just because the jihadists never bombed it
but they simply ignited it’s 24 metric tons fuel tank..
Airport personnel that have close access to airplanes
must be severely scrutinized as it’s quite probable that those that refueled the Airbus have done it.
Either they had become radicalized and pledged allegiance to the Islamic State.
Or Islamic State militants were dressed up as airport personnel and inserted the clock
just before refueling the Airbus. Or similar.
The fuel tanks should be scanned for 100000% purity.. 24/7/365!!!,
especially before a flight.
And the Islamic State if they are really clever
they will never reveal this, to blow up more airplanes with Russian Christians.
The easiest way to ERADICATE Islam from this planet is by
EXPOSING ISLAM’S PROPHET MUHAMMAD ! ! ! !
that he was a rapist, pedophile, child rapist, women rapist, slaver, thief,
torturer, mass murderer, false prophet..
..as revealed by HIS QUR’AN, the hadith and other Islamic sources..
Expose him in all social media, in private, public and all the ways you can think of
as much as possible and in grand scale worldwide and Islam is toast.
Silly cartoons of Muhammad won’t cut it
because they only aggravate Muslims and leftists and cause security problems
but EXPOSING MUHAMMAD EVERYWHERE with Muslims favorite sources
will cause Muslims to RETHINK their religion . .
. . realize ISLAM IS A CULT . .
. . AND RUN AWAY FROM ISLAM AS FAST AS THEY CAN ! ! ! !
So it’s simple and Muslims themselves already provided you with necessary ammo:
EXPOSE ISLAM’S PROPHET MUHAMMAD EVERYWHERE . .
ANY WAY POSSIBLE ! ! ! !
and Islam is toast.

The real threat is not Islam but nukes and who do we have to thank for that and who is the only nation ever to use them wiping out two cities?
Since Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear proliferation has spread and so many nations now possess nukes that any one of them could destroy America or any other nation it wanted to.
I would be more concerned about a nation with nukes such as North Korea or Russia as well as Pakistan and also the danger of terrorists acquiring them or taking over a nations nukes. There is nothing that could really harm America on a mass scale more than nukes. Until terrorist possess them they are no real threat.
nabi ZK (pbum) says
And Putin is backing up Assad who is protecting minorities in Syria. And if our wonderful “moderate” jihadi monsters gain power there will be genocide. Not the BS “genocide” that so called palestinians are always talking about, but GENOCIDE. And then there is the matter of international law. Putin has been asked to help by the govt. of Syria. Assad doesn’t become “not the president” of Syria because we say so. Arming proxy armies to take him down is immoral and has resulted in the rise of the pseudo caliphate, the slaughter of so many non combatants, and the refugee situation in Europe. Can you say stupid immoral and disastrous policy.
Jerry says
What’s in a name?
We get too involved in trying to find IS or Al Qaeda or any one of many other more or less cohesive terrorist groups when the root cause in in the genocidal nature of Islam.
Terrorism is incited, promoted and socially and economically supported each and every day at each and every mosque, including the one near you.
The root cause of each and every virulent strain of Jihadi terrorism in the core of Islam.

Other than the Kurds (no accident that the nemesis of the early Crusaders, Saladdin or Sul E-Din, a Kurdish warrior, as were his sons), I can think of no better adversary than the Russians to successfully take on ISIS.
