In this hysterical little smear piece (to which the Daily Caller remains oddly hospitable), the brazenly and unapologetically dishonest Ahmadi spokesman Kashif Chaudhry, a willing water-carrier for Muslim Brotherhood propaganda, manages to defame Donald Trump, Pamela Geller, Sam Harris, Ayaan Hirsi Ali and me, all in the space of a few paragraphs, while doing his best to obscure the grim reality of Islamic jihad terrorism.
The thrust of Chaudhruy’s argument here is that Trump, egged on by Geller, Harris, Hirsi Ali and me, is creating an atmosphere of hatred against Muslims in the U.S. that mirrors the hostility against Ahmadis that was whipped up during the presidency of Zia ul-Haq, and that ultimately broke out into open violence and persecution. “Will Trump,” Chaudhry asks melodramatically, “be the Zia ul-Haq of America?”
Here’s the answer: No.
Here are some reasons why:
- Ahmadis are persecuted in Pakistan because the dominant Sunni ideology is authoritarian, supremacist and violent. Sunnis in Pakistan are behaving toward the Ahmadiyya in the same way that they behave toward Pakistan’s Christians. They are responding to the Ahmadis in the way the texts and teachings of their religion command them to act toward those who are considered heretics and apostates, just as they’re acting toward the Christians in the way that the texts and teachings of their religion command them to act toward the “People of the Book.” In the U.S., meanwhile, Trump is not the exponent of a violent, supremacist, authoritarian ideology, and there is no such ideology dominating the public discourse in this country.
- No Ahmadis were committing acts of violence and terrorism against non-Ahmadis. Nor were they calling for such acts. In contrast, Sunnis in the U.S. have committed such acts recently, and have threatened more. Trump’s call for a temporary end to Muslim immigration was designed to limit that jihad violence, not victimize any innocent people.
- The idea that Geller, Harris, Hirsi Ali and I “have craftily convinced a large faction of America that Islam is evil and that Muslims are to be feared and suspected” is risible on its face. If any non-Muslims in the U.S. are convinced that Islam is evil and that Muslims are to be feared and suspected, the people who are responsible are Muhammad Atta, Nidal Malik Hasan, Tamerlan and Dzhokar Tsarnaev, Syed Rizwan Farook, Tashfeen Malik and others like them. What have Chaudhry and other Ahmadi Muslim spokesmen done to challenge the understanding of Islam that motivated them? Why, nothing.
Note also Chaudhry’s sinister use of language. Calling Pakistan under Zia “Trumpistan” is, of course, designed to suggest that an America with Trump as President would be just as authoritarian and violent. Note also his use of the smear term “far right” for Geller and me, when the only reason why we are called that is that we oppose jihad terror and Islamic supremacism, and his charge that we (and Harris and Hirsi Ali) have “radicalized many American minds.” The use of the word “radicalized” is designed to suggest a moral equivalence between those who commit acts of jihad terror and those who oppose such acts. If Chaudhry were to get his wish and we were silenced entirely, the same jihad terror that victimizes his people in Pakistan would advance unopposed. That, apparently, is what he wants.

“I Don’t Want Another Trumpistan,” by Kashif Chaudhry, Daily Caller, December 17, 2015:
…Ten years later, then president Zia ul-Haq passed an ordinance curtailing the religious freedom of Ahmadi Muslims. Thousands – including three of my uncles — were rounded up from across the country for identifying as Muslim, praying like Muslims or reading the Quran.
Since then, violence has only escalated. Talibani militants have killed hundreds of Ahmadi Muslims. Mobs have torched thousands of Ahmadi Mosques, homes, and businesses, most recently three weeks ago. And millions of Ahmadi Muslims remain disenfranchised with no representation in government. To escape this brutal persecution, I decided to move to the United States. And after finding a new home in this great country, I am suddenly – for the first time – experiencing a déjà vu.
Will Trump be the Zia ul-Haq of America?
For quite some time, anti-Muslim sentiment has been systematically nurtured in America. There has been a whole network of propagandists and fear-mongers that have – like Maududi — laid the foundation for this rise in anti-Muslim sentiment. They have craftily convinced a large faction of America that Islam is evil and that Muslims are to be feared and suspected. The fear mongering of the likes of Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller on the far right and the likes of Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Sam Harris of the new atheist movement has, over the years, radicalized many American minds.
And now, this bigoted narrative has sadly crept into mainstream politics. Politicians like Trump are capitalizing on the fear, and ushering in an epidemic of hate….

from my extensive interactions with Muslims, both secular, Sunny and Shia…the answer would be This Muslim man from Pakistan is BOTH DELUSIONAL and a LIAR as ALL Muslims who still follow the teachings of Koran, Hadith and Sira are.

“when you say islam, a collectivist thinks muslims..They have trouble separating ideology (some of whom must be hated with all you got) from practicioners of an ideology (which are not the target of the hate).”
I find your statement muddled and a bit difficult to follow. It makes much more sense if you take the “hate” out of it. Try this:
All Muslims are suspect, as they subscribe to a murderous hateful ideology. SOME Muslims must be dealt with as one would deal with a dangerous, predatory animal – they must be caged or killed.
Very simple, no “hate” required.
mortimer says
Thanks to nacazo for ‘collectivist’.
This is a critical insight for understanding and responding to cultural Marxists! Cultural Marxists INTENTIONALLY confuse ‘Islam’ with ‘Muslim’ in order to accuse counterjihad of bigotry by IMPLYING that ‘Islam’ is a race. (Islam is an ideology.)
If I can criticize ‘Republicans’, ‘Democrats’, ‘Communists’ or ‘Fascists’ for their ideas and inconsistently, then I may criticize ‘Muslims’, since they are members of an ideological movement.
If you can CONVERT to something, that is proof that it is an ideology, rather than a ‘race’ and the cultural Marxist accusation is debunked.
nacazo says
I have to thank Eric Allen Bell for the insight. But yes some cultures are individualistic and other are collectivist. In the individualistic cultures there is respect for the individual to soar to whatever they want to achieve while in collectivist cultures the collective is more important. Individual rights are trampled because the good of the collective supersedes the rights of an unimportant individual. Shame and “honor” are used as tools too control the individuals that are trying to overcome the limitations of the collective. Needless to say individualistic societies tend to be more advanced than collective ones because in suppressing the individual rights, the collective culture causes stagnation and lack of development and innovation. In the case of cultural marxists as you called them, is the same. They want to call you names instead of debating the merits of your opinions with any good arguments. They have an idea of how to achieve utopia and nothing will stand in their way. Individual rights are unimportant for them.

People who are envious of others often accuse those who are successful of causing their misery. That was done by Nazis, Fascists and communists and islam leads in this blame game.
Ship all the 3 millions of Muslims from USA and 54 millions of Muslims from Europe to a permanent Haj to Saudi Arabia and Iran, and stop using Muslim oil which creates new soldiers for Allah in the mosques near you.
I am sick and tired of the “religion of peace”. If they want to lkive in the west they have to denounce Mohamed as a criminal he was and Koran, Hadith and Sira as a hate speech against humanity and Muslim women and children, who suffer from a severe Stockholm syndrome… naturally as the muslims are skilful in lies and concealing, they may lie about that too..

Last January Chris Wallace appeared on the Fox & Friends Sunday program to promote his Fox News Sunday segment. It was about Prime Minister Netanyahu’s upcoming speech before a joint meeting of Congress on Iran. Obama was furious. Wallace said Netanyahu’s speech was wicked, malicious, etc. . Tucker Carlson sat there nodding in agreement or at least he did not challenge Wallace who at one point in the past was forced to apologize to his viewers for asking Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in an interview if she was a flake.
Maybe this is a good reminder to remove it yet again.

Actually in my case it wasn’t Muhammad Atta, Nidal Malik Hasan, Tamerlan and Dzhokar Tsarnaev, Syed Rizwan Farook, or Tashfeen Malik who convinced me that Islam is evil – it was Ibn Ishaq, al-Tabari and Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi: the devout Muslim writers of three different major early biographies of Muhammad. Without studying the life of Muhammad as Islamic tradition presents it to Muslims themselves, one will never fully appreciate and understand the evil of Islam – which is all about Muhammad’s “excellent example” for devout Muslims.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: I can’t see Trump letting ahmadi off the hook by stating that they’re not muslims. From what I gather, as far as Trump is concerned, ahmadi are as muslim as any other given islamic sect. Which is more than it can be said about Zia ul-Haq. Trying to make any sort of equivalence between them on that regard shows either an astonishing level of ignorance or blatant lying – there’s no third option.

………………………..
What *utter insanity*. Ahmadis are persecuted by orthodox Muslims for two primary reasons–because they have a “prophet” who followed Muhammed, and because they reject violent Jihad.
So the Ahmadi in part are being targeted because they are *not* violent–very different from orthodox Muslims, who wage “holy war” as part of their faith.
Moreover, Trump is *not* talking about persecuting Muslims, and *certainly* not committing violence against them. He is talking about limiting Muslim immigration until such time as they can be properly vetted to ensure we are not importing more people who want to murder us.
And bizarrely and anachronistically calling Pakistan under Zia ul-Haq “Trumpistan” implies that Trump was responsible for Haq’s policies–even though Trump had *nothing* to do with international politics at all during this period (and is only aspiring to such now). I very much doubt Islam was even much on Trump’s radar back in 1988–any more than it was for most Infidels.
But none of this should surprise–Muslims regularly blame the “filthy Infidel” for violent Jihad, and Ahmadi, despite their being oppressed and murdered by their more orthodox coreligonists, regularly whitewash Islam and work for its spread–in this, at least, they are mainstream Muslims themselves.

Chaudhry’s “statement” was clearly ghost-written for him by a highly placed Islamic supremaicst staff writer. Note the strangely formulaic and mechanical tone of his disparagement of Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer and other anti-supremacists.
What really gives the ghostwriter away is precisely the “personalized” portion of the statement – ” Thousands – including three of my uncles — were rounded up from across the country … ” The psychology is jarringly out of synch – a human being would not describe persecution of his family by supremacist Sunni Muslims in Pakistan only to then direct his “ire” at anti-supremacists.
Ahmadi Muslims could with some legitimacy portray themselves as standing apart from the supremacist orthodoxy of Sunni and Shiite Islam. Chaudhry is obviously being paid by MB/CAIR to co-opt is co-religionist for the benefit of the MB jihad against the West.
