Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

“I’m Christian and I LOVE the Qur’an”

Dec 13, 2015 9:31 am By Robert Spencer

UPDATE: I’m informed by several reliable sources that this young woman’s name is Jordan Denari, and that she works with Nathan Lean at the anti-“Islamophobia” Bridge Initiative at Georgetown University’s Saudi-funded Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding. The thuggish Lean has several times tweeted out what he thinks is my home address and places I frequent (erroneously), in an obvious attempt either to intimidate me into silence or alert his jihadi friends to my whereabouts. Such are the ethics and standards of this wonderful attempt at “understanding” and “bridge-building.”

——-

This photo was apparently taken at a recent demonstration in Washington, DC:

And there is so much in it for a Christian to love:

Jesus is not the Son of God: “O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not “Three” – Cease! (it is) better for you! – Allah is only One Allah. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.” — Qur’an 4:171

And: “It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” — Qur’an 19:35

Jesus was not crucified: “And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger – they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.” — Qur’an 4:157

Those who believe in the divinity of Christ are unbelievers: “They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary.” — Qur’an 5:17

Belief in the Trinity is “excess”: “O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, ‘Three’; desist – it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.” — Qur’an 4:171

Christians have forgotten part of the divine revelations they received: “From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.” — Qur’an 5:14

Those who believe that Jesus is God’s Son are accursed: “The Jews call ‘Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! ” — Qur’an 9:30

Christians who do not accepted Muhammad and the Qur’an are the most vile of created beings: “Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence. And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion. Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the most vile of created beings.” — Qur’an 98:6

Muslims must fight against and subjugate Christians: “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” — Qur’an 9:29

“I’m a Christian and I LOVE Muslims”? Absolutely. Love for Muslims is one thing, however, and love for the Qur’an is another. It is strange for someone who professes to be a Christian, who presumably believes that Jesus is the Son of God, the Second Person of the Trinity, who was crucified and rose from the dead for the salvation of the human race, to profess love for a book that denies all that and says that those who believe it are accursed, vile beings who should be waged war against until they submit to the hegemony of a group that believes differently.

What’s more, although very few Christians would dare say so publicly nowadays, to be a Christian at all assumes a denial that Muhammad is a prophet and the Qur’an a holy book, for they both affirm as matters of faith beliefs that Christians do not hold, and, as we have seen, deny many that Christians do hold.

It may be that the carrier of this sign considers herself a Christian in the spirit of this passage: “Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans — those who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness — will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.” — Qur’an 2:62

This appears at first glance to be a marvelously forward-thinking example of ecumenism: Qur’an commentator Muhammad Asad exults: “With a breadth of vision unparalleled in any other religious faith, the idea of ‘salvation’ is here made conditional upon three elements only: belief in God, belief in the Day of Judgment, and righteous action in life.” But he contradicts himself by adding “in this divine writ” after the words “those who have attained to faith” in his translation of verse 62 — that is, to be saved, one must believe in the Qur’an as well as the earlier revelations.

And indeed, Muslim commentators are not actually inclined to see this as an indication of divine pluralism, but only an affirmation that those Christians who become Muslims will be saved. The translators Abdullah Yusuf Ali and Mohammed Marmaduke Pickthall, as well as Asad, all feel it necessary to add parenthetical glosses that make the passage mean that Jews and Christians (as well as Sabians, whose identity is disputed) will enter Paradise only if they become Muslims. Qur’an.com adds “before Prophet Muhammad” in brackets after “Jews or Christians or Sabeans,” making it clear that those three could only be saved as such before the advent of Islam, but now they must convert to Islam to get to Paradise.

And according to Ibn Abbas, this verse was abrogated by Qur’an 3:85: “And whoever desires other than Islam as religion – never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.” Sayyid Qutb opines that 2:62 applied only before Muhammad brought Islam to the world, a view supported by a saying of Muhammad recorded by Tabari, in which the Prophet of Islam says that Christians who died before his coming will be saved, but those who have heard of him and yet rejected his prophetic claim will not be.

It is unlikely, of course, that the person holding this sign has thought any of this through. She is just trying to be nice. And she is unlikely ever to stop and ponder the implications of the fact that no Muslim has been carrying around a sign saying, “I’m Muslim and I LOVE the Bible.”

I think she probably *is* a Christian who is taking “love thy enemy” as far as she possibly can. I doubt she’s ever read the Koran. She probably just trusted what her Muslim friends have told her about it. In the spirit of brotherly love and solidarity, trusting that no religion could possibly teach what the Koran teaches, she’s rallying with that stupid, harebrained sign.

The best that can be said of the Quran is that it is a mishmosh of heretical quasi-Hebraic and quasi-Christian teachings.

What Christian thinks that God cannot have a son? Or that Jesus did not die on a cross?

An illiterate desert ruffian and loser decided to barge in on an essentially Jewish–Moses and Christ as Totemic figures–narrative then arrogantly decided to plagiarize then edit that narrative. It takes some kind of gall to do that–all out of jealousy. They already had their primitive and licentious Arab paganism, so just stick with it, or create something out of whole cloth. Maybe they didn’t have the brains to do something so simple. Lazy parasites.

Muhammad and his companion copyright thieves then brazenly hijacked the Jewish idea of Paradise then decided that only the thieves could enter. Like someone breaking into your house, chasing you outside then taking full possession of your house.

Tongue in cheek: maybe all those who print the Qur’an should be sued for copyright theft and made to pay damages from the first day the plagiarism of the Jewish narrative, henceforth labeled the “Qur’an”, was set in motion.

And who knows, if she’s such a “peace activist” she could even be another Rachel Corrie, or God forbid, a Samantha Lewthwaite (raised as a Christian before converting to Islam). She can take it farther. Or perhaps she is reading this article and this thread about her and is getting some sense knocked into her skull. Stranger things have happened.

You’re absolutely right. In recent decades the ‘Nice’ heresy has crept into a lot of Christian thought and popular belief. It appears to be founded on the belief that Jesus was nice. He didn’t turn over tables in the Temple, He didn’t tell the woman caught in adultery not to sin again and He didn’t go around saying things the only reasonable conclusion to which was that He was the living, breathing fulfilment of the Law and the Prophets and God Incarnate, or anything that might cause people to have to believe in anything. No, Jesus was just a big cuddly hippy who wanted everyone to chill out, be cool about everything, and above all be nice.

“Nice’s ancestry goes back to a Latin construction that renders into English as “ignorant”, “unaware” and, “clueless”. It would keep its pejoritive meaning for almost 2,000 years. Into the modern period it began to take a more nuanced definition, becoming a synonym of “naive”. It has only been in the last 200 years that “nice” has taken on the meaning of agreeableness, and finally kind.”

I remember when I was in grade school, a nun told my class a bit indignantly that it was wrong to use the word “nice” about girls. I remember asking her why. She wouldn’t explain to the class. I was annoyed that she would be indignant and then not explain. I couldn’t see how calling someone “nice” could be bad. I later learned of course what the expression, “she’s a nice girl” meant. (I believe it meant “she is not promiscuous,” or perhaps, “she doesn’t have sex,” or “she’s a virgin.”) I guess the nun, maybe quite reasonably, found something repugnant about using “nice” as a euphemism for sexual mores.

They went out from us, but they didn’t belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us. You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son, the same doesn’t have the Father. Dec 14, 2015 at 1:22 am

Did God the Father give ancient Israel outdated instructions, which Jesus Christ had to come to change? Or were the ancient Israelites guided by the same One who was born as Jesus Christ? The answer may surprise you! Many Christians try to distinguish the God of the Old Testament from the person of Jesus Christ. Yet your Bible shows that Jesus Christ, who pre-existed with God the Father from eternity, was the One who spoke to Abraham and Moses and gave the Ten Commandments!

Most religious scholars and commentaries know the clear scriptures.
But most of them avoid these scriptures like the plague! Or, on the other hand, they may do a little verbal “dance” around them—touching on them in their technical commentaries—but then gliding on to “safer” subjects without fully explaining them one way or the other. Why? Why should professing Christian leaders be afraid of the fact that the One who became Jesus Christ pre-existed with God the Father from eternity? That He was the God of the Old Testament—the God who spoke to Abraham and Moses—the God of David, the One who actually spoke the Ten Commandments? Why be fearful of these clear biblical teachings?

He was the One who spoke the Ten Commandments from the top of Mount Sinai! WHY Is This Truth So Seldom Acknowledged? When you understand that last sentence in the paragraph above, you can begin to grasp why so many professing priests and ministers shy away from explaining the real origin of Jesus Christ. For they have nearly all been taught that the Ten Commandments were a product of some harsh “God of the Old Testament” and that Jesus somehow “knew better” than His Father. In many cases they say, instead, that somehow the Apostle Paul “knew better” than either Jesus or the Father—and that he did away with God’s law, the Ten Commandments. These misguided men may be sincere. But they are “blinded” (2 Corinthians 4:3–4)—as is the whole world. Remember Jesus’ instruction about most of the religious leaders of His own day: “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch” (Matthew 15:14). It is embarrassing—to men who have been taught that the Ten Commandments were “done away”—to admit that it was the One who became Jesus Christ who gave the Ten Commandments in codified form to Moses. He is the One who commanded, God’s great spiritual law.

If all professing Christians were taught the truth—that the One who became their Savior is the One who gave the Ten Commandments—perhaps their actions would be quite different. The world would surely be a much safer place! All would realize that true Christianity is a law-abiding religion—a way of life based on the great spiritual law of God. They would learn that—although no one is suddenly perfect, and we are commanded to grow in Christ’s character—it is possible to follow Christ’s inspired example through His Spirit within us. As the Apostle Paul wrote: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20, KJV). Christians would then understand the beloved Apostle John’s explanation of the very love of God and how it functions: “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3). They would read with new understanding John’s inspired statement in Revelation 14:12: “Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” The true Christ revealed clearly in the Bible co-existed with the Father from eternity. He and the Father planned together the creation of mankind. Speaking for Himself and the Father, the Logos—who became Christ—said, “Let Us make man in Our image.” Then, about 4,000 years later, the Logos was willing to give up the indescribable glory, power and majesty He had always shared with the Father. As correctly translated, Paul tells us that Christ “emptied” Himself, “taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:7–11). Jesus said, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30). So the One who had been totally “one” with God—and who was God—”emptied Himself” to become our Savior. Truly His life is worth more than all of ours combined, because He created not only the human race, but the entire universe as well. Having bought and paid for us by His death on the cross, Christ now doubly “owns” us. He is our Maker. He is our God. He is our Master. Yet after the death of the original Apostles, a great apostasy took over the name of “Christianity.” The clear teachings and examples of Christ and the Apostles began to be altered. The very concept of Christ being a real “Master” began to be undone and permanently altered. He came to be considered a “Lord” who demanded no obedience to the very spiritual law—the Ten Commandments—that He had given mankind. His clear and persistent teaching, “if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments” (Matthew 19:17), was now explained away as instruction only for the Jews. So also were dismissed the powerful statements of the Apostle John such as, “He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:4). These clear statements were explained away as applying only to the “spirit” of the law or to some \new\ commandments of Jesus. But when you study these new commandments, they are only magnifications of the Ten Commandments, which Jesus Himself gave on Mount Sinai! And again, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). May God help all of you who read this to understand and to respond to the true Jesus Christ of the Bible. As He said, “Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46).

The One who existed with the Father from eternity—is the One who will guide you, strengthen you and bless you if you determine to do what He says and worship Him not only as Savior, but as Lord and Master now and forever…He will join His mind with Yours and you can learn and practice keeping the perfect law of God

This reminds me of two women from the “Tri-Faith Initiative” in our area. I was at a women’s retreat and had a display on the persecution of Christians in the Middle East. The display included material from the refugees explaining what had been done to family members by the Muslims, particularly ISIS.

Two women from the Initiative were explaining to me that ISIS had a wrong interpretation of Islam, and that Islam is peaceful.

I countered with “there are 165 verses in the Quran that encourage violence against non-believers”. (I was off by one, there are 164 in the list I keep in my computer.) The women asked me where I received my information. I told them about the importance of reading a biography of Mo and that they needed to be aware. I also told them about some of the lowlights of Mo’s life, when he was a warlord, sold slaves, sanctioned raped, married a six year old, etc.

They did not have a word to say and quietly left. I can’t image what they think of me!

The SIGN represents what is wrong in American society. A person holds a sign with a witty comment on it and stands there, self assured and smiling. A SIGN is by nature a monologue,a commentary with less than a dozen words meant to silence and/or ridicule a person or group, who are never given time to have a rebuttal. This woman with the sign obviously knows nothing about the Quran,Christianity,or both and is very unlikely to be open for conversation to enlighten her self on what she actually believes. SIGNS shut down conversation and further the divide between people, who now rely on ‘gotcha!’ comments in 140 characters or less to express complex issues in childish manner.

The near total domination of vast stretches of the planet by Islam is testimony to its strength and to the weakness of rival belief systems. This demonstrator is one small example. Her Christianity leads her to tolerate a creed which is often violently opposed to Christianity and which is persecuting the few Christians that remain within its grasp. You won’t see too many Muslims carrying around Bible-appreciation signs. It’s strictly a one-way street – one I don’t want to go down.

Islam is a complete failure as an ethical system to organize society. That’s why all majority Muslim countries are either autocracies or anarchic. It is, however, ingenious at spreading itself. Think of the demographic aspects: polygamy, huge families etc. Then there’s the enforcement, the prohibitions against apostasy which are essentially military-style anti-desertion regulations, the prohibitions against blasphemy to enforce total obedience as in an army, the proselytizing, the dawa, the insistence on imposing its legal code, the violent threats against any dissent from its dominance by infidels, the glorification of those killed in the line of duty against unbelievers who portrayed as enemy combatants. We are up against a highly disciplined, militaristic, total system which has, in fact, achieved great success in spreading and maintaining itself, if not in running society effectively.

Speaking as a Christian – and right now, as I sit here typing this, I am in fact wearing a Star of David pendant (which I wear every second day, alternating with my Christian cross) to affirm my solidarity with the House of Israel during these very dark days – I say to you that both our traditions have the resources to hand with which to tackle Islam.

We just need to dig them out of the attic, dust them off and *make use of them*.

For Christians, there is Just War doctrine as hammered out by some of our classic theologians.

For Jews – and Christians would do well to reflect on the concept, as well – there is the concept of milhemeth mitzvah.

Some in Israel (are you in Israel? or in the diaspora?) are already awake, and have recognised that what they are in, right now, is what the sages called “milhemeth mitzvah” (apologies for infelicities in the transliteration).

Read this. I’ve linked it before, from time to time, but it bears repetition, and perhaps you overlooked it last time.

This is Paula Stern, who has three sons in the Army of Israel – two have already done their military training with the IDF and the youngest has just begun.

She *calls* it ‘things you don’t want your kids to know’, but in fact, ALL our kids – all the children of the lands of the Infidels – need to know and understand this. I think what she really meant was “things you wish your kids didn’t have to know…but they *have* to know, to survive”.

Here’s just one paragraph, to give you the flavour of it. – “…An obligatory war is one that is fought against an enemy that does not want peace and will not let you live in peace, no matter what you do, no matter what you give. Though the Torah speaks of absolving a man in his first year of marriage from going to war, it also explains that in a milhemet mitzvah, even the groom should leave his wedding canopy (chuppah)..”.

Sir Winston Churchill would have understood.

Here’s what he writes, in ‘The River War’.

“No terms but fight or death were offered. No reparation or apology could be made. . . The red light of retribution played on the bayonets and the lances, and civilization—elsewhere sympathetic, merciful, tolerant, ready to discuss or to argue, eager to avoid violence, to submit to law, to effect a compromise—here advanced with an expression of inexorable sternness, and rejecting all other courses, offered only the arbitration of the sword.”
          Sir Winston Churchill

I think a LOT of Jews in Israel – and even some of the Christians there, people who are listening to Fr Gabriel Naddaf and sending their sons off to enlist in the IDF – are slowly, grimly, rationally reaching those sorts of conclusions. they are starting to recognise the kind of war that they are in.

          They’re getting there.

          *We’re* getting there, too.

Islam has a glass jaw. It will not tolerate dissent or inquiry because it cannot stand up to scrutiny. It is my belief that the same mass media and social media that are now facilitating Islam will in time be its worst enemy.

Muslims are forbidden to consider any truth, and exposure to Jesus and YHWH will be revolutionary to the Middle East. Right now the Islamic world is an echo chamber and an armed, violent camp in which any thinking person must be scared out of his wits. Betraying any doubt, concerns, or questions about Islam is personally dangerous. I can’t believe that such a system is strong. I do believe Islam will fall.

      • TheBuffster says

        Dec 13, 2015 at 5:52 pm

It will only fall if the non-Muslims wise up and re-embrace the foundations of individual rights and sound ethics that make us strong, and stop beating their breasts over all the wrongs Westerners have committed *while losing sight* of the basic ethical principles that Westerners got right, finally, better than any other bunch of humans in history.

As long as the non-Muslim world hamstrings its minds and self-defensive decisions with politically correct delusions, evil will win. And once it has gotten hold of power, it won’t be easy to dislodge.

Islam isn’t strong the way that reason and rights and liberty are strong. But if those who hold the torch of liberty in their hands cut the fuel supply (reason, knowledge) to the fire, and make themselves weak, then Islam doesn’t have to be strong the way that those who appreciate and *understand* and uphold liberty are strong.

By some accounts, the modern world is generating significant numbers of apostates from Islam, who quietly become atheists or Christians. Some Christian missionaries claim that the Islamic world has never before in history seen so many conversions to Christianity. Some in the Middle East are saying that if ISIS is Islam, it’s time to abandon Islam.

Until quite recently in history, Islamic populations were relatively very sheltered from hearing of alternative paradigms or criticisms of Islam. Some observers assert that Islam is only strong so long as it can protect its adherents from hearing criticism and new ideas and that as it becomes increasingly difficult to censor global communications, Islam will inevitably dwindle away. While Christianity does seem to be growing by new conversions, Islam grows mainly through its birthrate. From that perspective, modern and postmodern life may end Islam more rapidly than people today suspect.

Thanks for that link. I was impressed because this was the first time I saw a view stating that propensity for violence is linked to the degree of piety among Muslims expressed in the mainstream press, though people all across the internet are well aware of the connection between Islam and violence.

However… I had a big problem when the author introduced the quote from the series “The West Wing”, to whit…

“There’s a famous speech on the show “The West Wing” where the fictional president accosts a Christian radio host. She believes homosexuality is wrong because the Bible says so. He points out that the Bible also allows him to sell his daughter into slavery and execute his chief of staff for working on the sabbath. The “West Wing” president, by the way, is a practicing Catholic — but he’s making the point that Christianity went through a reformation.”

He falsely compared the Bible with the Quran, and he implied that Christianity needed to go through a reformation and thereby lost its violence. He did a great disservice by polluting an otherwise excellent article with such false equivalence.

In the first place, if you want to compare Christianity with Islam, you need to compare the words and deeds of Islam’s prophet, Muhammad, with Christianity’s prophet, Christ.

Christ never wrote the bible. His words are quoted in the New Testament, which basically overturned the Old Testament and delivered a new imperative of peace and “Love thy neighbour” and “Do unto others”, etc. Everybody knows this. The example of Christ’s life makes it abundantly clear. If you read his teachings, you will get an overwhelming sense that he was a man of humility, compassion, peace and love who spoke of a “Kingdom in Heaven”.

Furthermore, if great violence was done in the name of Christianity in the past, it didn’t derive its inspiration from Christ’s teachings. That would be a ridiculous notion. It derived its inspiration from greed and the desire for power that has been a part of human nature since the beginning of time.

On the other hand, if you read Muhammad’s message, it is entirely different. He was a violent warlord who sought to establish his kingdom on earth. The violence committed in the name of Islam is directly inspired, incited, and even commanded by the words of their prophet Muhammad. No other motivation is required other than the Quran itself.

“Christianity” never went through a reformation if you define it as following the teachings of Christ. Rather, it _was_ the reformation in itself, of antiquated earlier texts. The religion preached by Catholic Church went through a reformation though, because it had become corrupt and did not follow the teachings of Christ. When Christianity is defined as following the teachings of Christ, it remains with exactly the same imperative it had from the beginning: “Love thy neighbour” and “Do unto others”, etc.

Please don’t get me wrong. I am not proselytizing. I couldn’t care less what anybody’s personal religion is (other than Islam) and even if they have any. I state basic facts about Christianity that one could read in a encylopedia. I am only pointing out that while the article did so much good by pointing out that with Muslims, piety is associated with violence, the article did harm by promoting the False Equivalence argument employed by the Left.

        Dec 13, 2015 at 1:52 pm

        billybob,
On the whole, the article makes the point against equivalence strongly. For example,

Danish linguist Tina Magaard and a team of researchers spent three years examining the texts of the 10 largest religions to see if any incite violence. “The texts of Islam are clearly distinct from the other religions’ texts, as they, to a higher degree, call for violence and aggression against followers of other faiths,” she concluded. “There are also direct incitements to terror.”

A 2010 study of 45,000 teens by a German criminal research institute, moreover, found that young religious Muslim boys were much more likely to use violence than their non-Muslim counterparts, even when social factors were taken into account.

Our Western youth have lived too much in a protective bubble where everybody’s “nice” and well intentioned. Living in peace-time seems to have fostered a childish belief that no one could ever really be our enemy, and that anybody hostile can be instantly disarmed if we just “love” them enough.

I will always remember when I was an argumentative 13-year old, my dad having the patience to set me straight on why he had had to fight the Germans in WWII.

The problem now is there are no “parents” left to set society straight about the fact that there really is evil, there really are enemies (one above all others) who want to wipe us out, and that there are times when we not only shouldn’t love them, but will need to fight them to the death in order to survive.

The majority of the translations here give the verse in the present tense:

    http://www.islamawakened.com/quran/2/62/default.htm

but the literal word for word version gives it in the past:

“Indeed, those who believed and those who became Jews and the Christians and the Sabians – who believed in Allah and the Day [the] Last and did righteous deeds, so for them (is) their with their Lord and no fear on them and not they will grieve.”

Guess that puts Qutb and Quran.com in the right and those who use it as an example of tolerance and pluralism on Allah’s part in the wrong.

There are good Jews and Christians, the ones who become Muslims. There was validity to Judaism and Christianity before the coming of Muhammad (before the “words” were changed) but not after. 3:19: the religion before Allah is Islam. Period. 3:85: If anyone even desires a religion other than Islam it will never be accepted. Islam has abrogated what came before just as the Qur’an abrogates any previous revealed books. Not only does Islam declare war on Christians in 9:29, Christians whom Muslims are required to hate as enemies of Allah (not fellow monotheists), the Qur’an is clear on the purpose of Muhammad: Muhammad came “that he may warn those who say ‘Allah hath begotten a son!” 18:4. Antichrist a little? “Jesus, son of Mary, said ‘O children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah unto you confirming the Torah (which came) before me, and give glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed (i.e. Muhammad)'”61:6. This is Muhammad’s benediction as the Seal of the Prophets and appropriation entire of the Jewish and Christian religions. In fact, because Christians knew of the coming of Muhammad and heard and rejected him (7:157; 33:40), removed all references to him in the Torah and Gospel, Christians can legally be considered apostates.

I recall the documentary about him. It includes video where he is by some pond in the woods, and a huge bear is walking by, and Treadwell actually calls to the bear and touches it as it goes by. The bear turns angrily at him for a moment, then walks on. I guess the man was somehow suicidal. I believe he is the one who took his girlfriend into a remote area where a very dangerous kind of bear is present in large numbers. He took a tape recorder, and when a bear attacked and killed him it was recorded. His girlfriend tried to defend him, and she too was killed. Their deaths are recorded on audio. During the movie, the director is shown listening to the audio recording, which apparently no one had heard before, because the Treadwell’s relatives perhaps could not stand to listen. We don’t hear it, but it’s clear from the director’s face that it was not pleasant to listen to.

      • Jack Diamond says

        Dec 13, 2015 at 1:21 pm

It was directed by Werner Herzog, who no doubt was fascinated by Treadwell’s mania. Treadwell had sentimental ideas about grizzly bears and nature. He wanted to be accepted as one of them and be their “protector.” He acted like bears were people in bear suits. He seemed oblivious to the fact he was not just endangering himself but the bears by familiarizing them with humans. An Alaskan Native American talks about how Treadwell crossed invisible lines the natives never cross between grizzlies and men, for the sake of both. There are obvious comparisons to an equally dangerous sentimentality and self-delusions about Islam and Muslims.

This stunt got her face in the news. Maybe her smile will be in the next toothpaste ad.

The Bible is clear: one cannot eat from the table of God and the table of demons. (1 Corinthians 10:21) The Bible has words of wisdom, Commands, Laws, Orders, standards of behavior. that are pleasing to God, our Creator, Father of Christ Jesus. Partaking of these are good for the soul, healing to the spirit, building of moral character.

The unholy book of islam has no redeeming value, no virtue, nothing to recommend it, and all of its commands come from satan the devil. To read it and allow it into the mind and heart is to *eat* or partake of the table of demons. When one takes poison into the body, it kills the body. When one partakes of the unholy book of the beast of islam, and allows it to affect the thoughts, to direct the intentions of the heart, it kills the body, mind, soul, spirit.

The Bible is clear: “Oh, you lovers of Jehovah, hate what is bad (Psalm 97:10).”
The unholy book of islam is BAD. It is evil in written form.

This girl is a tool of satan in lending herself to protect and defend his unholy book. It will not profit her, but will destroy her unless she recognizes whom she is serving and at whose table she is eating and drinking and makes drastic changes quickly.

Koran 40:35 “They who dispute the signs (verses) of Allah without authority having reached them are greatly hated by Allah and the believers.” (Note: not just “hated”, but “greatly hated”.)
Koran 48:29: “Muhammad is God’s apostle. Those who follow him are violent to the unbelievers, but compassionate to one another.”
Koran 4: 101 “The kuffar are for you a clear enemy.”
Koran 8:60 “Terrorize the enemy of Allah and your enemy”
Koran 60:4 “We have rejected you, and there has arisen between us and you enmity and hatred, until you believe and worship Allaah alone.”

Tolerance, Cotton, of massive intolerance is stupid and even suicidal. Yes, a free society should tolerate a certain amount of intolerance but beyond a certain point it becomes self-defeating and a menace to liberty. And ignorantly applauding any kind of intolerance, as this young women in the photo most surely is doing, is pathetic and moronic. The Koran is a hate manual and one knows this or should know it and representative of not just your standard amount of intolerance but intolerance on steroids. The woman in the photo obviously doesn’t have a clue about this and it seems neither do you.

As for violent passages in the Bible, you apparently aren’t aware of the fact that the Bible is often only descriptive, for one time and place only, while the Koran is always prescriptive. In a Pew Research poll taken in Egypt in 2010 over 80% of those polled said that an adulteress should be stoned to death. The same poll showed that over 80% also thought that a Muslim who converts to another faith should be killed. Many similar polls taken in a whole host of other Muslim nations reveal approximately the same percentages. Moreover, no major school of Islamic theology, Sunni or Shiite, to this very day has repudiated these obnoxious doctrines. By contrast, when was the last time you heard of a Jew or Christian wanting to kill someone for leaving Judaism or Christianity respectively? And let’s face it, Orthodox or Ultra-Orthodox rabbis leading the way in stoning adulteresses to death are rather a rare phenomenon nowadays, now aren’t they?

Reconsider, Cotton. Frankly, you have much to learn. The earlier you start the better because you are presently suffering from a rather bad case of MRE (Moral Equivalency Reasoning).

      • Wellington says

        Dec 13, 2015 at 6:02 pm

Thousands of “moderate muslims” celebrated and had parties, when the the WTC came down. Which also proved they only pretended to assimilated themselves to becoming Americans.

Facebook is now working with these people against the free speech of the taxpaying citizens of the United States, to delete anything that offends them, and I understand that I am probably on their death list, and they know where we all are by internet tracking devices. What does it matter about offending We The People, and their plot to overthrow our Government and kill us? Don’t we matter anymore?
    WITCHCRAFT LIES:
They send their money and donate to their jihad back home. Islam is an evil WITCHCRAFT cult, that sacrifices humans to allah (Satan the devil) by burning people alive, beheading or killing any way they want. They cut off toes, fingers, feet, and the louder you scream the better allah likes it. And NO! Their religion has NOT been hijacked. The quran is the quran. People better start learning from it. It could mean your life! They tie up the man of the house, and force him to watch them gang rape his wife and kids, then they kill them (while he’s watching) then they rape the corpses, then they eat the sacrificed corpses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMaKI5y85LE

First, Islam denies the Jesus is the Son of God. As being the Son of God. Who is God the Father. For the Bible clearly reveals that Jesus is the Son of God. As shown in Mathew 3:16,17. 16:15,16. Luke 1:35. John 3:16,17,36. First John 2:22,23. 4:14,15. 15:12,13. Second, Islam also denies that Jesus is God the Son. This denial of Islam is in great contradiction to the Bible which teaches that Jesus is ,indeed, God the Son. As seen in Hebrews 1:6-8. With emphasis on verse 8. Third,Islam also denies the Jesus is God. For the Bible strongly teaches the Jesus is God .As shown in John 1:1-3. Romans 9:5. Colossians 1:15-17. Second Peter 1:1. Titus 2:13. First John 5:20. Moreover, all a person has to do to further find out that Jesus is God is to compare the Old Testament with the New Testament. As in comparing Isaiah 8:20 with Philippians 2:5-11. Likewise, by comparing Psalm 89:8,9 with Matthew 8:23-27 further shows Jesus to be God. As well as comparing Psalm 62:5-7 with First Corinthians 10:4. In addition, order to further see that Jesus is God a person can compare the New Testaments books together. As in comparing Romans 14:12. with John 5:22 to reveal that the Deity of Jesus. So according to the Bible, Isaiah 8:20., Islam is part of the world of darkness and is in awful and terrible error concerning its teachings and doctrines about the Nature of Jesus. Therefore, Islam is a false religion, Proverbs 14:12. John 14:6. So this poor confused “Christian” girl in the above picture ,very much, in need good Bible based Christian instruction. For she must have had been led astray . For to hold out such a sign shows that she is not behaving in a Christian way, as the Bible teaches that Christians should, Ephesians 5:11.

“I’m a Christian and I love the Quran!”

What I particularly love are verses 4:74, 9:111 etc which say that if I kill and am killed fighting for Allah I shall go straight to paradise where I shall be “Reclining upon couches ranged in rows; and We shall espouse them to wide-eyed houris.,,, and there go round them youths, their own, as if they were hidden pearls.” So very Christian, like turning the other cheek. As a Christian I can’t wait to grab an AK47 and mow down the unbelievers celebrating Christmas and take my place reclining on the couches.

And I love what it says in the Quran that those who “abuse Allah and His Messenger – Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a humiliating punishment…they will not remain your neighbors therein except for a little. Accursed wherever they are found, [being] seized and massacred completely.” How lovely and Christian-like.

And I love what it says “Fight those who do not believe in Allah .. and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture – [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled” How delightful! Can’t wait to give the jizya to the Muslims and be humbled.

And I love what it says “The adulteress and adulterer should be flogged a hundred lashes each, and no pity for them should deter you from the law of God, if you believe in God and the Last Day; and the punishment should be witnessed by a body of believers.” This is truly Christian. Pity? Imagine that!

I could go on and on, like Christian and Jews being the worst of creatures etc…. but that;s enough. I just love the Quran and I’m a Christian!

Remember everyone, that hillary clinton met with the oic to craft their plan to make it illegal to criticize islam.
hillary told the oic guys that because of the Freedom of Speech guarantee in the U.S. law, it was not possible to make a law saying citizens would be prosecuted (read persecuted) for speaking out about islam. hillary said that what could be done…and evidently, based on her actions and speech from that time, she is happy to do…is shame Americans into not speaking the truth of islam.

And they are all trying the shaming bit…”that’s not who we are”…uttered by o and others when stopping the importation of more worshippers of satan’s beast is put forth as a measure against terrorism. Or even just doing more background checks, etc. In regard to shaming, notice how many have tried to shame Trump and Carson into apologizing for what they have said on the subject.

Various non governmental persons are in the act…including preachers and members of clergy…who say how much moslims are victims and only want what everyone else wants., etc. and are doing what they can to get more *refugees* in and are paid to do to help more moslims into the country.

loretta lynch, is trying to go further than shaming with her threats to prosecute speech she doesn’t like if it mentions the beast, its adherents or its image.

And this girl, like so many others, is getting in the act, saying she *loves* the unholy book. Whether or not she has read it, I can’t say, but she is doing her part to shame real Christians into putting down their “weapons of spiritual warfare” which includes The Truth, and giving in to satan’s beast and its image.
    .
Telling the truth of islam or even lying about it, is free speech. The first…telling the truth…can save lives.
Lying about it, whether as the adherents do such as saying it is peaceful, or trying the shaming tactic as this girl is doing, is costing people their freedoms and their lives.

It was foretold that many people would get the mark of the beast and this is coming true all around us.
It was also foretold that the beast, its false prophet, its image, its worshippers and the dragon that made the beast will go down into the abyss.

Sixty million Christians slain in the last 1400 years at the hand of Muslims and that number
is rising everyday. All non-believers are “kafirs” to the Muslim. They loath all “kafir” Christians, Jews,
Hindus, Buddhists alike. Christians can love them all they want but it is forbidden in the Koran

No. And I expect you have no background in psychology nor in philosophy.

It is perfectly reasonable to assert that Islam and Islamic culture usually cripple reasoning skills, especially by immersion from a young age. And that Islam and Islamic culture develop a strongly fascist dualistic cultural ethic. And that Islam and Islamic culture are profoundly damaging to girls and women on all levels. And that Islam and Islamic culture strongly and consistently promote violence, bloodshed, and war on peaceful peoples.
But the main thing one learns about religion – and I learned this in about sixth grade – is that all religions are DIFFERENT from each other. To the extent where they really do not and CANNOT speak the same language. Different religions are separate psychological and cultural spaces.
In general they are unrelated and incommensurable.

Surprisingly, even most of those who have a degree in theology are completely incapable of doing ANY Real theology. Which would be comparative theology.
To actually do any comparative theology a person needs a strong background in philosophy and ethics and also some history. As a starting point.

One of the major public theologians today is Dr. Karen Armstrong. She got everything wrong about Islam. She is mostly clueless and I can easily defeat her in public debate. She is already quite laughable.
Another major public theologian is the Dalai Lama. He is one of the best trained theologians on the planet. And he is very possibly re-evaluating his idealistic perspective on religions sharing common pure humanitarian principles. Which was never true. It was more of a hope and a lack of critical written perspectives in his Tibetan language. He could not evaluate any source texts in English etc.

Very few people in the West ever understood what Islam was about until the last few years. Most of the real analysis of Islam comes from just a handful of individuals in the 21st century, like Dr. Andrew Bostom, Dr. Bill Warner, and Pastor Jay Smith PhD. I have no doubt that Robert Spencer can also do rigorous analysis of Islam, but I have not seen his books so I will not make that claim.

Short of actually getting into all the theology, there is one good basic book to study: “God Is Not One”, by Stephen Prothero. This book is approximately correct. It is good as far as it goes. With another hundred pages it would be a really effective book, instead of just one of the best written on the subject.
If I were to add to this book a hundred pages of philosophy, ethics and comparative religion it would be super heavy duty. But Dr. Prothero establishes his main point and clears away lots of ignorance and confusion.
That’s the real answer to your statement or question. There are others even more effective, such as the Buddhist tradition ( e.g. Dhammapada, Kalama Sutta, and Nagarjuna ). This is a vast, culturally rich and astonishingly philosophical tradition.

But the best place to start is classical philosophy and ethics, specifically Socratic dialectics and Aristotle’s Nichomachean Ethics. That gets you in the door.
Short answer: you’re wrong and you’re clueless. The Hindu, Buddhist and Taoist stuff gets profoundly sophisticated and philosophical. Q.E.D. The light in the darkness shall shine. And it is time for people to start waking up. This is a time of crisis.

I think you are missing the obvious point about religions. The ‘golden rule’ which came via the Torah, was transmitted to all the other ‘faiths’ including christianity, hinduism, buddhism, zoroastrianism, jainism etc etc.
The point of all this golden rule spread is that despite all the disruptions, difficulties, was that the judeo christian west helped spur this cultural transformation which set the bar of ethics and morality such that all the religions theologies accepted the bar that culture establishes- to try in the best manner they could, to live up to those standards, and to do unto all others as you would have all others do unto you. Yes- religions and people(s) fail at these but the standard was and is there.
Except for one religion. And that is Islam- and Islam will furiously deny this but it is set in it’s Qu’ranic stone. There are believers and unbelievers and ethics for one is totally different for the other. This failure is the tyranny of Islam, the utopianism of the tyranny that Al-lah and his fake prophet are the best and all who do not agree are to be terminated. Unless they submit to being indentured servants paying the jizya tax- up to 50% of what they earn, produce for the slavemasters who are muslim.
That is the problem. That is the difference between Islam and all other religions.

Well, they could have. Contemporary mainstream scholarship about Islam, in the era of
Saudi-friendly Middle Eastern Studies is abysmal, the John Esposito syndrome (Karen Armstrong hardly qualifies as a scholar), but there is a large library of informed and un-PC analysis of Islam in the older scholars. Hugh Fitzgerald was always mentioning David Samuel Margoliouth and Joseph Schacht and Antoine Fattal, Arthur Jeffery, Snouck Hurgronje, and Henri Lammens; then there was William Muir, Rev. W. St Clair Tisdall. K.S. Lal, Konrad Elst, then the brilliant Bat Ye’or; and more recently invaluable from-the-inside works by ex-Muslims like Ibn Warraq, Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan, Ali Sina, Mark Gabriel, Sam Solomon etc….my point is the scholarship on Islam does and did exist for anyone willing to find it, long before the last few years, but the last few years have certainly led to their needed rediscovery.

Please excuse my ignorance. I have a natural suspicion of those who hold their education like a cudgel over those less fortunate. In my experience, education is no substitute for intelligence.
However I am a seeker of knowledge and enlightenment. I am trying to understand why it is so difficult these days to get to the truth of the matter. Why there seems to be a deliberate cover up. There is a need for open and very public discussion on the evil that is Islam.
As you say, and I agree, nor all religions are the same, not all Gods are the same. Are you saying that some are better than others?
Would it be safe to say that the Allah of Islam is not the same God as that of the Jews or Christians as Mahomet claimed. Could one therefore conclude that Allah may not be a god, but the devil or a man made concoction. Are they all manmade concoctions?

Your point is completely valid. You win. The reason is very simple.
First, religion is not only tradition or holy books. Religion is also human action and organized human activity.
Second, it is definite that just as classical Islam basically means Sharia and jihad, it is definite that Islamic State and Caliph al-Baghdadi and his crew of criminally insane psychopaths are following the same Sharia and jihad principles of Quran, Muhammad, and the early carpet pilots.
What you establish here is that to accept or love the Islamic tradition, the Quran, Muhammad the Desert Pilot, one must ALSO accept and love Islamic State.

But my sympathies are with Paris. This “Christian” chick and Islamist apologist no doubt failed to carry a sign for Paris. And there were two times to come out this year, gather together and light candles. Millions did.
And that is just for Paris. There were other moments and other locales that deserved our attention and recognition, our recognition as human beings who respect the lives of other human beings.
There is no friendship with Muslims nor community with Islamic culture.

Oh, this poor young girl has been misdirected, but clearly she wants to be a loving person and has simply not done her homework. The Truth–reading the Koran and Gospel to understand the contrast between them–would set her free.

How much can we blame the student when they are learning what the professor (clergy) teaches? I think incompetence in US clergy is a staggering problem. Years of anti-capitalist, feel-good moral equivalence mentality in seminaries leads us to where we are now.

Why just today, I sat through a service in a Lutheran church where the message was that we should not harass persons of middle east origin on the assumption that they are Muslim because it is racist and unkind. The hero of the apparently true story was one who stopped the harassment, hugged the appreciative Muslim man, and went on his way.

They will know we are Christians by our love. (paraphrased from John 35:15). Indeed, harassing a stranger because he is Muslim will probably not help the Muslim, and creates a meanness of spirit which is self-destructive. But, letting the Muslim walk away believing he is righteous when by Christian theology he is damned to hell, is neither kind nor loving.

Christians seem as reluctant to face their obligation to evangelism as Muslims are reluctant to face their obligation to jihad. “Not my business,” and “Leave well enough alone,” aren’t Christian theology any more than driving past a car accident and not stopping to give aid. Yet years of institutional education that introduction of Christianity into pagan or other cultures was wrong has clearly made the best defense Christianity offers–conversion–impotent.

I don’t have any kids. What have you taught your children regarding evangelism? Is it an inconvenient concept that is ignored to allow “getting along” with everyone else? Is religion off-limits for discussion in school, play, work?

If anything, I was disappointed that the pastor didn’t take the opportunity to speak on how Islam is different than Christianity. Instead, he suggested the idea that God is not so judgmental about our “religion” as long as we have “faith.” Yet he does not embrace Unitarian church philosophy. If that’s the view of the core of the modern Church, why would we be surprised this ignorant young woman is holding this sign?

Like any good JW reader would do, I’ve requested time with the pastor to discuss this in depth with him. He’s a good man, but I don’t think he’s read the Koran either. My thanks to Robert for the timely list of Koranic verses that I will be discussing with the pastor. Shouldn’t the Koran be required reading in seminaries?!

From what I read in the Koran, Muhammad did not get his opinions of the non-divinity of Jesus from Allah – they appear to be purely his own ideas, given as being equal to Allah’s pronouncements. I’m sure Christians would reach out to muslims IF THE GOVERNMENT WOULD DO ITS PART TO ENSURE OUR SAFETY. But this balance is out of whack and people are just trying to understand what is going on here. Any tension is actually being created by the LACK OF ACTION BY OUR GOVERNMENT..

I agree there are still ways you can show love but I don’t want people to PUT DOWN THEIR GUARD.

That’s just not wisdom and god would not require us to be stupid for him.

If we are STUPID FOR GOD. that makes us the counterpart to the suicide bomber who is KILLED FOR ALLA.

So I don’t push propaganda about loving muslims like the prez does. People need to be SAFE FIRST.

Give your pastor Rev Dr Mark Durie’s two books – “Which God?” – and “The Third Choice”. The first carefully discusses the bottomless gulf that separates Islam, on the one hand, from Biblical faith (Judaism and Christianity) on the other; the second is a scholarly and sober – and all the more horrifying, because of that – discussion of the calculated and fiendishly-cruel system of Abuse that is Dhimmitude. You should also get the little companion volume, “Liberty to the Captives”, since it contains a discussion of what *has* to happen if a person – whether a de facto Dhimmi, or a descendant of Dhimmis, or someone who has left Islam and now professes Christianity – is to be well-and-truly freed from the malign influence of Islam. The advice given has been ‘road-tested’ ; Durie is sharing things that he and others have found to be effective in *practice*, with persons suffering from the severe spiritual and psychological damage inflicted by Islam.

Every statement Durie makes about Islamic doctrine and practice is backed up from original texts and solid scholarly sources.

The other thing you could give your pastor – you can get it from the Barnabas Fund website, dirt cheap – is a useful little booklet called “Is the Muslim Isa the Biblical Jesus?” The author, Patrick Sookhdeo, is an ex-Muslim. And the booklet, clearly and from original sources, sets out just why the answer to the question in the title is a resounding NO.

I’d also recommend Spencer’s Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran, and “The Truth About Muhammad”.

“I’m Christian and I love the Qur’an.” I wonder, has this Christian read the Qur’an? For that matter, has she read the Bible?

This nation is being undermined from more directions than I would even attempt to convey inside this response. Just one of them is this Muslim movement. Imagine for just one moment that it was September 12th, 2001 once again. How many Americans would walk through the streets of this nation with a sign stating that they love the Qur’an? How many would be standing on their soap boxes spewing out their rhetoric about Islam being a peace loving religion? The fact is that Muslims who actually believe in the Qur’an cannot have peace with the “infidel.” When will the United States wake up? Sadly, it will likely not be until it is too late…

Oh, one more thing to add to this insanity. The Muslim agenda is heavily backed by the leftist liberals. These are the same liberals who back the LGBT movement. Have these individuals ever considered that in the Muslim faith all homosexuals are to be executed??? This is ignorance of the highest degree.

This is why the American people will accept anything, and everything. They have no idea and care less what the word of God says. Thank you for this Martel. I listened to all one hour and ten minute of its. It was worth the time. What I got out of it was that, since even Christians are not living according to the Word of God, then it is no wonder that they do not know how to protect their beloved country from the Islamists. Love includes discipline; it includes obeying God’s law. Love tells the Islamists: in our country you obey our laws and God’s laws. If you refuse, you are not permitted into our country and, if you stealthily get here anyway, you’re thrown out.

      • UNCLE VLADDI says

        Dec 14, 2015 at 9:44 pm

Exactly! These twits have mis-read that old “Love your neighbor as yourself”! trope.

So – how does it really work? Well, the only way I can look at myself in the mirror, let alone “love” myself, is knowing I am civilized and not a criminal moslem, who pretends to imagine they are so superior to all non-moslem humans, that it’s not only their right, but also their holy duty to their god, to extort, enslave, and murder all the non-moslems in the world, simply for the “crime” of not being moslems!

So as soon as they give up being holy mobsters, they will have earned the right for me to love them as myself!

Until then, it’s based on earning it; as the same standards I apply to myself, I will apply to them!

        😉

Now, what’s wrong with the other way of interpreting it? (unconditional support for everyone)?

It’s wrong because it implies you have an OBLIGATION to help others, not just a duty to NOT attack them first.

It says you have a responsibility but no right to refuse it. It’s “positivist,” micro-managing, Guilty-Until-Never-Proven-Innocent “law,” not true negative rights (where the only real right we have, is to not be attacked by others first, and the only real responsibility we have is to not attack others first).

As it FORCES you to be responsible to people you don’t know and have no personal contractual obligation to, it’s a basic form of tyranny which hurts everybody.

I.e: it affects everyone because, whenever some goof decides he doesn’t want to work, suddenly he gets to claim you owe him because you earned stuff he didn’t bother to, and his assertion gets enforced by the state. It’s state-sponsored theft. You are enslaved to their whims, yet you have no reciprocal, commensurate right to force them to work for you to earn their keep. It’s one-way slavery sold to us as victimology.

Yes…she is ignorant, misguided, embraces cultural diversity, has clearly never read the Qur’an, made a fool of herself, comes across as brain dead, and IMO, was fair game for the “roasting” she has received here.

She’s an idealistic liberal. She is young and naïve. I was once that type of girl that blasted Elvis Costello’s “What’s So Funny ‘Bout Peace, Love and Understanding” on my cassette deck. I had my own path to follow to come to this point of understanding the threat.

I’m well aware that Nathan Lean stalks you, Robert. Not sure how identifying this young woman by name and association to Lean and Georgetown is responsible.

      http://jordandenari.com/

She is a strong and public voice for Muslim-Christian understanding (such as it is). She carried the sign you see at a public demonstration.

I hope you and others might understand my initial, albeit misguided, outrage when I saw her name splattered here on this site. Her foolish photo and absurd sign made great fodder for ridicule, but I wanted to give the lost soul the benefit of the doubt as just being young, stupid, and naïve. I didn’t believe her transgression reached the degree of outing her identity. I now understand that she is deeply entrenched in the pro-Islam agenda, and went after Robert first in her so called “articles.” And it is now I that feels foolish.

      ……………………..

Ashley, I had also assumed that this woman was just naive–but Jordan Denari is a *much* nastier figure.

She claims that her first “spiritual home” was with the vicious Muslim Brotherhood-linked Muslim Students Association (MSA).

Besides meretriciously saying that allowing Muhammed cartoons “make Muslims feel less safe”–never mind that it was *Muslims* trying to mass murder Infidels over the cartoons–she has also grotesquely claimed that “acceptance of Christianity and other groups is an Islamic value”. Perhaps she should tell that to the Christian sex slaves in the Islamic State.

And her citing of the “Prophet’s” “protection” of the Monks of St. Catherine is especially repulsive, since this is a well-known forgery created by the frightened monks themselves in the hopes that Muslims would stop attacking them.

She blames Robert Spencer for reports of “suicide bombings and the persecution of some Middle East Christians on the evening news”. Clearly, she believes such news should be censored.

Even more sickeningly, she says *this*:

“Spencer and others profit from enlarging the gulf between Christians and Muslims…and they work hard to subvert the strong trend of mercy and hospitality that is threaded throughout the Qur’an, the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, and Islamic history.”

So–it isn’t murderous Muslims responsible for Muslim violence, but those who dare point out Muslim violence, like Robert Spencer.

Needless to say, her blather about the Qur’an and the “Prophet” is nothing but whitewash.

I don’t want you to take this as a harsh response, Ashley–I always love to read your posts, but respectfully I believe you are are unaware of what an ugly figure Jordan Denari really is.

What “troubles” and “angers” you about it?!

This girl was obviously seeking public attention. Now she’s got it. Her silly sign implies that other Christians don’t love the Qur’an, presumably because they are hatefully bigoted racists, while she is superior to them because she isn’t so “biased.” She’s funded to spread these slanderous lies by a Saudi sheik.

Or perhaps you’re only trying to imply that nobody has a right to comment on other people’s mistakes in public, (because that might offend her or hurt her precious feelings?) and that the best way of solving problems is to ignore them?

SOME COMPARISONS FROM THE BOOKS OF EACH RELIGION

Sura 24:2 – The Holy Qur’an says: “The woman or man guilty of adultery or fornication, Flog each of them with a hundred stripes, Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by God, if ye believe in God and the last day, and let a party of the believers witness their punishment.”

John 8:3-11 – The Holy Bible says: “When Jesus had lifted up himself and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said; No man Lord. Jesus said unto her; neither do I condemn thee; go and sin no more.” The self-righteous scribes and Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery to Jesus to stone her, but Jesus simply knelt down and then quietly said; “Let he that is without sin cast the first stone.” When he said that everyone dropped their stones and left. Then Christ showed compassion on her and told her to go and sin no more.

Sura 4:88-89 – The Holy Qur’an says: “Why should ye be divided into two parties about the hypocrites? God hath upset them for their (evil) deeds. Would you guide those who God has thrown out of the way? For those whom God has thrown out of the way, never shalt thou find the way. They but wish that ye
should reject faith as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they); But
take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of God (from what is forbidden); But if they turn renegades; seize them and slay them wherever you
find them; and (in any case) take no friend or helper from their ranks.” Please
Note here that the penalty for apostasy is death.

Galatians 6:1 – The Holy Bible says: “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault
ye which are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself lest thou also be tempted.” The idea here is reconciliation. Christians should be willing to forgive even as God has forgiven them. Matthew 6:14-15

Sura 5:41 – The Holy Qur’an says: “As to the thief, male or female, cut off his or
her hands: a punishment by way of example from God for their crime: and God
    is exalted in power.”

1 John 1:9 – The Holy Bible says: “If we confess our sins He (God) is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.”
God’s way is forgiveness for sin.

Sura 5:36 – The Holy Qur’an says: “The punishment of those who wage war
against God and his apostles, and strive with might and main with mischief through the land is execution or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and
feet from both sides, or exile from the land; That is their disgrace in this
world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the hereafter.”

Romans 12:19 – The Holy Bible says – “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves,
but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written; Vengeance is mine; I will repay saith the Lord.” The Lord can handle his enemies – he doesn’t need our help.

Sura 9:5 – The Holy Qur’an says: “But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them, and seize them beleager them and lie in wait for them in every strategm of war; but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them; for God
    is oft-forgiving, most merciful.”

Matthew 5:44 – The Holy Bible says: “But I say unto you, love your enemies,
bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them
which despitefully use you and persecute you.” – The words of Jesus Christ –

Here we see that one book offers pain and death for sin or defection from the religion it represents. The other offers forgiveness and restoration for all who will repent and be forgiven and saved – God alone deals with his enemies. He doesn’t need help from any man. Thou shalt not kill is still part of the Bible.

I must be a stickler and say that modern Bibles cast doubt on the authenticity of the Pericope Adulterae. Although it very much goes in line with Jesus’s character. My personal opinion is that the manuscripts that don’t have it are omissions and it was part of the original text.

    • UNCLE VLADDI says

And “THOU SHALT KILL!” is still the main part of Satan’s Qur’an.

The Qur’an clearly and specifically tells muslims the Bible is wrong and also that all Christians and Jews are infidel criminals who worship a false god, and who must therefore be extorted, enslaved, and murdered for their “crime” of not being muslims:

Sura (Chapter) 47:1-4 of the Qur’an:

      1: non-muslims are bad, (allegedly because they insult allah by dividing his nature*);
      2: muslims are good, (allegedly because to them allah is the cause of everything*);
      3: Allah made them both like that;
4: So muslims should chop off the non-muslims’ heads.
(“Allah could have done it himself, but he wants you muslims to do it for him”).
      …

It’s all right there, in context: islamic violence is entirely general doctrine-driven, and not at all specific grievance-driven. (Don’t go looking for what actions of yours may have offended or provoked them; they have been taught from birth that your existence alone offends their god, and so should offend them).

(And chapter 47 isn’t by any stretch even remotely the worst, most violent chapter; that honor goes to either chapter 8 or 9).

*[Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers! (3:151)].

So, if and when you consider islam to be a religion, you must agree with it’s main tenet: that God is a violent murderer who wants his muslim tribe to violently conquer the world by extorting, enslaving, and murdering all the non-muslim humans, right?

At WORST, all REAL religions only say:

“Obey our silly rules, or GOD (/’the gods’) will get you!”

      …but ONLY islam says:

“Obey our silly rules, or WE will get you (‘for god’)!”

A forced ‘Faith!’ ISN’T a “Faith!” at all – it’s only extortion, and extortion is always a CRIME.

Here’s the nasty Jordan Denari’s Twitter feed. The most absurd thing is her reference to “quotes from the Qur’an that speak to God’s mercy”.

    https://twitter.com/jordandenari/

She also retweets a piece saying that a Qur’an makes a great Christmas or Hannukah gift “in our political climate”. *Ugh*.

Actually, if she gives people Qurans, so long as they are reasonably clearly translated, it could backfire on her, big-time.

Unless someone has been *totally* bamboozled or is already inclined to evil, the reaction of the average halfway-intelligent westerner to a reading – or attempted reading – of the Quran tends to be a mixture of puzzlement/ confusion (because the wretched text is so chaotic), crushing boredom (because of the endless repetition), and *shock* at the bloodthirsty aggression that steams off every second or third page. if the intrepid reader decides to sample the Sira, or the Hadiths, or some Al-Tabari, the shock – and revulsion – are likely to increase, not decrease.

Such ‘beautiful’ / poetic verses as occasionally appear feel like sugar sprinkled over an arsenic tart.

And if one *is* an informed Christian who has read all or most of the Bible, and is thoroughly familiar with the main Biblical personages both from the TaNaKh and the Gospels, and with their teachings and biographies, the Quranic (and Hadith) ‘take’ on such figures is downright creepy. It reads like deliberate Black-Magic-style reversal/ inversion and even defilement/ degradation. Any informed Christian who encounters 1/ the Islamic claim that ‘Ibrahim’ offered Ismail (not Isaac) and 2/ the Islamic claim that ‘Isa’ did not die on the Cross knows straightaway that both of these claims are intended as a deliberate strike at the *heart* of Judaism and Christianity.

I am a Christian and I do *not* love the Quran at all…not one little tiny bit. It bores and revolts me; and it *gives me the creeps*. The first time I read it I pegged it for a violent and bizarre ‘cult’ text.

And over the years, here at jihadwatch, any number of other posters, speaking of the first time they cracked open a Quran and had a peek inside, have shared similar impressions.

So if this Dhimmi fool – or this closet convert to Islam – wants to give copies of the Quran to Jewish and Christian people she knows, she can go right ahead; she might just succeed in converting a significant percentage of the previously-uninformed, naive and indifferent, into red-hot Islamophobes!

The anti-Christianity of the Quran is not much different than the opposition and charges of heresy leveled upon Nestorians by the followers of the Nicene Creed.
Much of what is considered bedrock Christian theology is as extra biblical as Rabinnic Judaism.

I doubt that she’s seen ‘false wonders’ through the Koran but she has CERTAINLY been deceived! So sad for HER but for those she’s helping to bring up also.

    Matthew 24:24 (KJV)
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
