Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Missouri: FBI alerted after Muslims buy large quantities of cellphones at rural Walmart at 4AM

Dec 16, 2015 11:08 am By Robert Spencer

Muslims buy cellphones in large quantities in the middle of the night at a rural Walmart. The FBI was alerted, but people are worried that their concern was “racist.” Sheriff Merritt said: “You’re not being racist or anything like that you’re just protecting yourself.” Why shouldn’t people have been concerned? Cellphones have been used by jihad terrorists to detonate bombs. Noticing that and being vigilant against it happening again is “racist”? This is the number that Islamic advocacy groups such as the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has done on the American people. The steady battering of stories like Clock Boy Ahmed Mohamed has intimidated Americans into thinking that resisting jihad is somehow wrong and “racist.”

The Muslims buying these cellphones may not have been up to anything wrong. But investigating them isn’t wrong, either, and is no evidence of “Islamophobia.”

lebanon-missouri

“Large quantity of cellphones bought raises red flags,” by Paula Morehouse and Tom Schultheis, KY3.com, December 9, 2015 (thanks to Gateway Pundit):

LEBANON, Mo. – In the early morning hours on Saturday–around 3:50–two men buying a large number of cellphones at the Walmart in Lebanon set off some concern.

Local authorities were alerted.

“Somebody went in and bought 60 cellphones from Walmart that’s not normal for this area,” explained Laclede County sheriff Wayne Merritt.

After talking with the men, officers didn’t have a legal reason to detain them so the men were allowed to leave, according to a Lebanon Police Department incident report.

Local authorities, though, did notify the FBI.

Sheriff Merritt said calling law enforcers was the right move.

“I’m not going to say just because they’re different religion or because they’re Muslim, but these people were they were foreign speaking, then you need to take notice and you need to let us know about it because it doesn’t hurt to check on it. You’re not being racist or anything like that you’re just protecting yourself,” Merritt said.

After the San Bernardino shooting, several media outlets reported some neighbors noticed suspicious activity at the home of shooters Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik.

No reports were made, however, out of fear of being accused of racial profiling.

Purchasing cellphones in bulk is done for any number of uses including to give as gifts or to resell for profit.

Law enforcement agencies report cellphones are also potential tools in the hands of terrorists.

The devices can be used to communicate and they’re difficult to trace if they’re prepaid phones; they can also be used as detonators for bombs….

The reports I read also mention the theft of a number of propane tanks from stores in the vicinity.

Sixty phones at 4 am?? Just shows how arrogant the Jihadist are, and how confident they are that the infidel has been silenced by theirs and the liberal effort.

They probably just plan on reselling them in their gas stations for a small profit, very common.

In my state there are a fewl gas stations that sell those small tanks for grills,, i think that is a bad idea, although convenient.

I purchase a prepaid cellphone, returned it, (no instructions came with phone),I had to give out alot of information over the phone at the local Walmart, to activate it. Kuddos to Walmart staff for calling about the large quantitiy of phones and reporting it.

Large numbers of phones, theft of propane tanks from CVS and other businesses, theft of toy cars…like the one used in CA by farook and bride…and theft of at least two drones.

Except for the thefts, nothing can be done ahead of an attack because buying a lot of cell phones is not a crime. Yet.

RE: Paris attack. Strategy Page an interesting bit of info about how the Paris attacks were made possible: The terrorists simply found the one place where they were unlikely to be noticed until they struck.

    http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htterr/articles/20151216.aspx

[quote:] The … attack in Paris put an uncomfortable focus on the problems Belgium has had in dealing with Islamic terrorism. … the most active Islamic terrorists soon gravitated to the European nation with the least effective counter-terrorism policies. Currently that is Belgium and that is where the Paris attack was planned and organized. Belgium knew it had a Islamic terrorist problem because it had the highest number of known Islamic terrorists (per capita) in Europe and now the world knows that these men were not being effectively tracked by hundreds of local police forces who were notorious for that lack of cooperation or passing information onto a central organization.

Belgium is one of the most dysfunctional nations in Europe, largely because it is divided by cultural and language differences. About half the population are French speaking while the rest speak Dutch and both sides have not learned how to get along, or at least not as well as other nations with similar divisions (like Switzerland). As a result the country does not have much sharing of intelligence information at the national level and the politicians tend to concentrate on the culture war rather than the threat of Islamic terrorism.

The unfavorable attention because of the Paris attack has led to Belgium increasing spending on counter-terrorism efforts and trying to institute more effective use of the information collected by the all those normally uncooperative police departments and the understaffed national intelligence agency. More people are being hired for all this but given past experience major change may not occur. Because of that the other EU (European Union) nations will be watching closely, hoping for a miracle.

At the moment the local Islamic terrorists have hunkered down to see if the atmosphere will be permanently dangerous for them. If so the more dedicated Islamic terrorists will seek another part of Europe where it seems safer to operate. The Islamic terrorists do offer an unwritten promise to not carry out attacks in their sanctuary country. … . Europe has never been comfortable about even discussing this “sanctuary immunity” arrangement even though it has been in play since the 1960s. [quote/]

Strategy Page also has a report on ISIS:
    http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htworld/articles/20151216.aspx
ISIS is now having cash flow problems because of the Russian and French bombing, and because of that, the quality of their volunteers has been declining.

    • PrayerWwarrior says

      Dec 16, 2015 at 12:18 pm

Another part of ISIS’s new cash flow problem:

      http://www.strategypage.com/qnd/iraq/articles/20151215.aspx

[quote] While the army continues to slowly gain ground in Anbar and move closer to Mosul, the most decisive move against ISIL his year was the decision in July to stop paying government employees in areas under ISIL control. This made it impossible for ISIL to get a viable economy going in areas they controlled. [quote/]

Stopped paying government employees in the area ISIS controlled? Duh! Why hadn’t they done that right from the get go?

      …………………………..

And in Dar-al-Islam this is even more overt, PrayerWarrior–places like Saudi Arabia basically openly tell their Jihadists that all is well as long as they don’t attack the country they are operating out of.

For any European nation to even tacitly countenance this is just evil, since the victims are going to be innocent Infidels in a neighboring country, as was the case with the Paris attacks.

And this “unwritten rule” is *never* hard and fast, in any case–how many times have we seen Jihadists attack the country they are using as a base from which to wage violent JIhad? Just most recently, of course, in San Bernardino, where Muslim attacked not just their “own nation”, but their “own community”.

The problem, of course, is that pious Muslims *don’t* consider these parts of Dar-al-Harb to be their community, at all.

Muslims consider all of us “filthy Kuffar”, and if they hold off from attacking us in one place it is just logistics, and nothing more.

        Dec 16, 2015 at 8:58 pm

Dar al-Hudna, the House of Truce arrangement is void if the infidels break it, such as waging war against Muslims or, today, the Islamic State. It also is only good for ten years, then hostilities can resume if it furthers the Muslims. Further, based on the Treaty of Hudaibiyah, Muslims can break any treaty with the kuffar when it is in their interests to do so.

And we have seen European countries make “arrangements” with jihadis just like the Saudis.
Bat Ye’or once recounted how “in 2008, 80 year old Francesco Cossiga, Minister of the Interior, Prime Minister, President of the Republic and Senator for life, in a Corriene della Sera interview cites the agreement made in the early 1970s between Prime Minister Aldo Moro and Yasser Arafat’s PLO and its affiliates. Palestinian terrorists were free to come and go in Italy, circulate freely under protection of the secret service, stock weapons and set up bases, in exchange for immunity for Italy’s domestic and foreign interests…Cossiga revealed that Italian Jews were not included in the protection agreement.”

Not sure what race has got to do with tagging a terrorist an Islamic terrorist.

Every time profiling is done they shout racism. If terrorists are themselves claiming that they are doing it for Islam then why cant we call a spade a spade.

It is like people being profiled for being a Nazi because they are skin heads and the skin head because he is actually a Nazi and doesnot like being called out and protects himself by calling it racism.

Profiling is done to identify legitimate threats. As Islamic ideology exhorts violence, these guys are dead ringers to begin with.

If they call me a racist then i will call them an Islamofacist.

F$%K Islam, with all due respect. Its an Arab imperialist ideology that has nothing to do with God and everything to do with satisfying Muhammad`s lust for sex, slavery, blood, control and achieving these through violence.

    Thank you and goodday.

    @somehistory
“Except for the thefts, nothing can be done ahead of an attack…”

Actually sh, there is quite a bit that can be done, and should be done, such as:
    • Apply for that concealed carry permit, if you don’t already have one.
    • Purchase that ideal carry weapon and a suitable personal defense rifle in
    .223 or 7.62X39.
    • Purchase an additional rifle for your neighbor who may not have one and
of course extra ammo and mags for each weapon.
    • Train with these weapons at every opportunity, preferably in
    “action” competition.
    • Keep a “weather eye” about and spread the news about Allah and Muhammad
to every Infidel you meet, who will listen.

Then rest easy both in the knowledge that you have done what is needed, and THE FACT that it is exceedingly difficult to terrorize an armed population.

Of course, but I was writing specifically about the phone purchases. Since it isn’t illegal to buy in bulk unless it can be proven they are using them in some illegal way, the purchases are a step in the direction of attack that can’t be stopped…as yet.
My comment was about what the authorities could do in this instance. Watch and wait and see and try to catch the thieves…if they do, these just might be the same guys as bought the phones.

The purchasers of these telephones may be jihadist OPERATIVES…and likely they are. The best OPERATIVES have no CRIMINAL RECORDS or connection to espionage or politician. The FBI needs to go beyond the normal efforts to find the upstream of these phone purchasers.

Congratulations to Walmart and thanks for caring enough to keep us safe. Jihadists have struck office buildings, shopping malls, a Christmas party, churches, pedestrians, concerts, sports matches, airplanes. They will strike us everywhere from now on.

It is my understanding that the phones were purchased in bulk at discount with the intent to be resold for profit. There is a serious market for these disposable phones. Some benign, some sinister.

Kudos to those that reported the strange activity of mass purchases.

    From the article –
“Sheriff Merritt said calling law enforcers was the right move.

“I’m not going to say just because they’re different religion or because they’re Muslim, but these people were they were foreign speaking, then you need to take notice and you need to let us know about it because it doesn’t hurt to check on it. You’re not being racist or anything like that you’re just protecting yourself,” Merritt said.”

GOOD ONYA, (as we Aussies say), Sheriff Merritt!

Perhaps American jihadwatchers here posting and lurking should try contacting the good Sheriff’s office and expressing agreement with what he just said.

And contact the Walmart people in Lebanon, Missouri, and *commend* their employees for their vigilance and for obeying the “if you see something, say something” principle.

Nota bene – *the* point is that it was out of the ordinary. “Somebody went in and bought 60 cellphones from Walmart that’s not normal for this area”.

That’s what matters. Local people – especially people who work in a Walmart, where *everybody* comes through sooner or later – are in a good position to know what is normal and what isn’t. If *they* get a bad feeling about something, if something just doesn’t feel right about a purchase and/ or a particular customer or customers (subliminally, the checkout chicks and charlies probably know who’s local and who isn’t, and are pretty good at reading body language) then they *should* speak up and they *should* be listened to.
