New York City? This unnamed lawyer thinks that New York City has become a seething hotbed of frothing Islamophobia because of Donald Trump? 9/11 didn’t do it, but a few remarks from The Blowhard-In-Chief, and they’re building a concentration camp on Roosevelt Island? This lawyer shows the utterly ridiculous lengths to which the Muslim victimhood industry is willing to go in order to deflect attention away from the grim reality of jihad terror. Minh Quang Pham, a convert to Islam, is accused of supporting al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, and his lawyer is whining about Donald Trump. If this legal eagle really wants to know who is responsible for “inciting public fear of Muslims,” if there really is any such fear, the names Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Syed Rizwan Farook, Tashfeen Malik, Nidal Malik Hasan, and a host of others like them spring to mind. But talking about them won’t get Minh Quang Pham sprung.
“Lawyer in terrorism case says finding unbiased jurors will be hard because of Trump’s comments,” Associated Press, December 30, 2015:
NEW YORK – A lawyer for a man accused in a New York terrorism case is arguing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s call for a ban on Muslim immigration into the United States will make it difficult to find unbiased jurors.
Minh Quang Pham is expected to go on trial in federal court in February. The Vietnamese man has pleaded not guilty to supporting al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula.
A 2012 indictment accuses him of traveling from the United Kingdom to Yemen in 2010 and receiving training from al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula.
Pham’s lawyer argues in court papers Trump’s statements have become “a rallying cry inciting public fear of Muslims.”…

Things are so bad for Muslims in New York.
That’s why they dominate the taxi cab business.
Even jihadi sympathizers drive cabs and openly bag on the US and the West.
Kathy Brown, Esq. says
I’m a native New Yorker.
If we didn’t riot and kill muslims in the wake of 9/11, we sure won’t because Trump talks turkey.
On a different note, there are times it’s embarrassing to be a lawyer. This guy’s a total schmuck. You should defend what you’d be proud to put back on the street, presuming of course that you live right next door to the exonerated…
Alarmed Pig Farmer says
The nation’s law tools pump out 44,000 new lawyers ever year; the same number does not retire. That’s a lot of mouths to feed. We’re becoming a nation of lawyers where once we were a nation of laws. Whole federal and state bureaucracies have been created or expanded to give them work. So kudos to the lawyers who stay in the private sector where they can add value from the bar. Not that kind of bar, the kind with an actual law tool graduate wearing an actual black robe. Many lawyers looking to earn a living have gone into immigration law, but now there is a boom business in Moslem law, which combines immigration law with victimhood law. It’s a powerful combination.
Kepha says
Your comment make me proud to be the son of a father born in NYC (although his father was foreign-born), Kathy; and I won’t badmouth lawyers because, as a freelance translator, I found them some of the best-paying clients.
But, as I understand it, even the worst scumbag has the right to counsel in these here United States. While I also lament that law is often turning into lawyers’ craft than an actual search for justice, I’ll recognize that someone had to defend Joker Tsarnaev, Porky Massaoui, and all the other low-lifes who get hauled up before the American bench.
Rich says
“Blowhard-in-chief”? Grow up, Robert. Trump didn’t say what you wanted him to say about Garland. Get over it. With petulant little bitches like you crying over every hurt feeling, there would be nobody decent to vote for. Trump would make a much better president than Hillary and that’s all you need to know. So STFU already.
Tiredofstupid says
Yeah Blowhard-in-chief about sums it up. I haven’t heard even one serious policy statement from the Donald. I’d like something a little more specific than “gonna make amurica great again” and “gonna builda big wall”. What is trumps platform besides talking big. He doesn’t support a higher minimum wage. How about TPP? does he support that like Obama does?
Since you can’t answer you fall into ad-hominem attacks on Robert. Why don’t you go sit in the dunces corner and play with yourself little trump troll.
mortimer says
Rich is poor in judgement. Freedom of expression is the primary American value and Trump cannot understand why that is so. Neither do you.
No one who is a blank on freedom of expression can defend the Constitution or be a good president.
The American Constitution is the issue, not Trump’s emotional outbursts. Trump needs to understand why his opponents’ rights of speech need to be protected. Because he doesn’t, he is unfit to be a candidate.
Rich says
Mortimer, just come out and say it: you want Hillary to win the presidency. Just like all the groups on your side of this argument against Trump: CAIR, ICNA, and MSA. Who do you support against Hillary? Jeb? Rubio? Kasich? Good luck with that. You’re probably just one more liberal RINO. And therefore you are part of the problem.
Rich says
And you can’t name a viable candidate to defeat Hillary so you denigrate those who can. The point is Trump is strong against Islam and he can beat Hillary. But you’re such a dipshit you don’t see that. Who’s your guy, Tired, Jeb? Kasich maybe? Rand? The people on your side against Trump are ICNA, MSA, and CAIR. Good company, dipshit. I think you need to join Robert in the STFU club.
Champ ✿ says
…wow someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed!
Champ says
Rich has been banned in the past, so he’s come back to share his sour grapes with the class …
Rich says
Never been banned. Why would you say that? Just simply not the case. Which makes you a liar.
Champ says
Never been banned.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, there’s always a first time …and in your case it may come sooner than you expect.
And for your 911, there was another poster named “Rich” who was banned. I’m not a liar. This is simply a case of mistaken identity. Know the difference? I doubt it. Seems your reasoning skills are unstable, at best.
Mitch says
I hired Rich (or someone just like him) to paint my garage. For an idiot, he’s a pretty good garage-painter. However, I ordered yellow paint and he used blue. When I mentioned his error, he said: “It’s better than Hillary so STFU.”
Rich says
Back to sleep, Mitch. Nobody understood your silly little story. Wtf are you even talking about? Like the RINO you are, you probably want Hillary to win. Who’s your guy, Mitch? Jeb? Rubio? Easy to criticize the leading candidate when you never have to reveal who you yourself support. So, who is it, Mitch? Wow me.
john spielman says
if you had the amount of wisdom in Robert Spencer’s little toe, you would be 100% more intelligent than you are now. Robert has stated correctly that Trump IS a “blow hard” and shoots his mouth off without thinking, BUT he is infinitely better candidate for president than the HILDABEAST!
ps Trump is correct about muslim immigration
john spielman says
the above is for ‘RICH”
Champ says
I agree with your comment, John …
And of course “Rich” likes Donald Trump, they’re both a couple of blow hards!
That said, I don’t mind if someone wants to vote for Donald Trump. That’s what makes this country so great, we each get to make up our own minds about whom to vote for. But why be so *nasty* about it? Yeah “Rich” is one **nasty** ole man.
JawsV says
Don’t talk to Spencer that way you fricking moron. You STFU.
Didn’t know you two were dating. Sorry, Jaws. Didn’t mean to insult your man.
………………………………………
Does it surprise anyone that someone who denigrates concerns over Trump’s lack of support for freedom of speech would tell this site’s host to “STFU”?
This has nothing to do with Robert Spencer’s personal involvement in the Garland show. If you cannot see that an inability to criticize Islam would leave us dangerously unable to defend ourselves against the threat of Jihad, then you understand very little.
And the idea that any candidate should be above criticism is also disturbing–it is important to understand *exactly* what our choices are. This is a key part of democracy.
Trump may well wind up–by default–being the best candidate to vote for. Pretending that taking a clear-eyed look at Trump means that Spencer is uncritical of Hillary Clinton is absurd–any look through the archives here shows that this is completely false.
Graven, excellent response to the awful and silly things that “Rich” wrote.
With all the jihad killings, murders, rapes, enslavements, beheadings, misogyny, bombings, machete attacks, terrorism…it’s harder and harder to find anyone gullible enough to say ‘Islam means peace’.
Mohammed said, “Jihad is your original religion.” I challenge Muslims to deny jihad is their original religion.
It’s too bad that this website chooses to be negative toward Donald Trump, who the great conservative Phyllis Schlafly calls the last hope for America. Calling Trump blowhard, etc, is not only stupid and self-defeating, it’s also costly. No more donations from me.
Rich says
I agree with you completely, wjsonl. JihadWatch is reliably anti-Trump and it does indeed do damage to the one candidate with the ability to defeat Hillary. That’s why I say all these little RINOS are really hoping Hillary wins. And if you criticize Robert, “Bobby’s Bitches” come out to attack you for daring to criticize their Master. It’s pathetic.
Rich forgets how the other Clinton (Bill Clinton) got elected when the freak sideshow attack dog blowhard Ross Perot ran independent against incumbent President George H. W. Bush.
Spencer has reduced himself to that which he’s made a living criticizing; a fraudulent snake. He says Trump supports Sharia and opposes freedom of speech, but is having a hard time maintaining credibility every time Trump stands up to Islam like no other. Spencer clearly cares about himself more than anything else he can possibly imagine. Finally, the used car salesman of counter jihad is exposed. There are plenty of loyal pinheads to keep him busy for a while, hopefully they too can eventually see the hypocrisy of Robert Spencer. Fox news should really find some one a little more honest to criticize dishonest Muslim leaders. He is an embarrassment at this point.
JawsV says
You’re the embarrassment. You’re the fraudulent snake. You’re the used car salesman. You’re the pinhead. You’re the hypocrite. Stop disparaging your betters, moron.
Rich says
Jaws: you are upset because you know Trump is going to win and that bothers you because you are a liberal Hillary supporter.
The way that Rich and EventHorizon so easily turn on Robert makes it obvious that they are secretly loyal Head-bump Hillary supporters themselves.
Sam says
I consider Robert a true hero of freedom. How do you suggest he thinks of himdelf all the time while you sleep (assumption) in comfort at night while Robert has to deal with dead threaths daily?
EventHorizon says
I used to agree with you. It’s still hard to believe that changed so quickly. There is a good reason why Spencer is loosing credibility and support; he can no longer be trusted.
The purpose of Garland was to raise awareness of ‘creeping’ Sharia. Am I right? That’s the point, awareness must be raised. I completely agreed with the event, but many I know did not. Does that mean that they supported Sharia? Of course not. They didn’t even know what it was. I had no way of knowing what they would really think about Sharia.
But Spencer concludes that someone(Trump) not supporting Garland must support Sharia. How could he be so obtuse? It’s like he missed the whole purpose of his own event. It looked very offensive and provocative to many unaware of the current situation(probably many here not so long ago). I would expect harsh criticism from all kinds of people that just didn’t yet get it. That criticism is the opportunity to make your case. Maybe someone should have told that to Spencer.
Then he goes on to make ridiculous accusations against Trump with a series of very dishonest articles claiming that Trump supports Sharia. Those articles are what started this little revolt against Spencer. It was like he suddenly turned into Reza Aslan. All because Trump called Geller a name.
“I hope [Donald Trump] will be the next US President. Good for America, good for Europe. We need brave leaders”, Geert Wilders
Well, looks like someone is still standing(he just needs a couple new friends).
There are many who support Shari’ah restrictions on freedom of speech–one need not understand Islamic law in full to enable its tenets.
Some do it out of exaggerated concerns over hurting Muslim “sensibilities”; some out of fear of Muslim violence; some out of a general dislike of the exercise of freedom of expression–but all of these things enable Shari’ah strictures on the ability to criticize Islam–and this is true whether the individual has ever heard of Shari’ah law or not.
This should not be so difficult to understand.
EventHorizon says
“I completely agreed with the event, but many I know did not. Does that mean that they supported Sharia? Of course not. They didn’t even know what it was. I had no way of knowing what they would really think about Sharia.”
You say:
“There are many who support Shari’ah restrictions on freedom of speech–one need not understand Islamic law in full to enable its tenets.”
I did not say one had to understand Islamic law to enable its tenets. In fact, I said the opposite. And because they were not aware of the Islamic law in which they were enabling, I would not know what they would really thought about Sharia. That is the point, what would they really think about Sharia? You cannot claim someone is making a decision to support Sharia if they don’t know what it is. Is that too hard to understand? That is the claim Spencer made against Trump. That claim is looking pretty stupid right now. Geert Wilders gets it. Spencer does not. Please read more carefully before posting.
It astonishes me how many Americans ‘of good will’ know nothing of Pam, SIOA, and the muslim menace.
I recently talked with a lady who is a very conservative, trad Catholic like myself, yet she didn’t ‘get’ that Pam’s Garland event was essential to the preservation of our 1st Amendment.
It took my saying it 3x: ‘Listen to what you’re saying’, before she realized she’d accepted as normal that ‘we have people here among us who kill others over a CARTOON.’ Then she got a shocked look on her face and said, ‘Omigosh! You’re right!’.
I speak of this because those of us who are enlightened must be tireless in educating the rest of our fellow citizens. And I believe that Trump is doing this! Because he talks turkey and faces down the idiot media.
Happy, happy New Year to all the patriots here! I’m the richer for ‘knowing’ you all-
Trumps comments causing the fear of Muslims, yea right, can’t be the 30,000 some odd terrorist acts committed by Muslims since 9/11, nor the untold number committed since the 7th century at the inception of Islam.
New York: Lawyer in jihad terror case says finding unbiased jurors will be tough because of Trump’s comments
…………………….
As noted, the idea that New Yorkers slavishly follow Donald Trump is simply laughable. He is, in fact, rather a divisive figure there in many ways.
Also absurd, though, is the idea that no potential jury member would have any issues with someone going off and training for violent Jihad with Al Qaida if Trump hadn’t weighed in on the general subject.
Angemon says
Gee, why is it that Trump can’t simply use his opinion-controlling skills to simply say “Vote for me”? /sarc. off
