Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

SB shooter in touch with people being investigated for jihad terror

Dec 3, 2015 2:59 pm By Robert Spencer

“Syed Rizwan Farook — who along with his wife, Tashfeen Malik, carried out the San Bernardino shooting massacre — was apparently radicalized and in touch with people being investigated by the FBI for international terrorism.” Was he in touch with people being investigated by the FBI for workplace violence?

San Bernardino

“Officials: San Bernardino shooter apparently radicalized, in touch with terror subjects,” by Greg Botelho, CNN, December 3, 2015:

(CNN)Syed Rizwan Farook — who along with his wife, Tashfeen Malik, carried out the San Bernardino shooting massacre — was apparently radicalized and in touch with people being investigated by the FBI for international terrorism, law enforcement officials said Thursday.

Farook’s apparent radicalization contributed to his role in the mass shooting of 14 people Wednesday during a holiday party for the San Bernardino County health department, where Farook worked, sources said.

Still, it wasn’t necessarily the only driver behind the carnage, as workplace grievances may have also played a role. President Barack Obama hinted as much Thursday when he said that the attackers may have had “mixed motives.”

David Bowditch, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles office, told reporters Thursday that Farook had traveled to Pakistan.

And two government officials said no red flags were raised when he’d gone to Saudi Arabia for several weeks in 2013 on the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca that Muslims are required to take at least once in their lifetime. It was during this trip that he met Malik, a native of Pakistan who came to the United States in July 2014 on a “fiancée visa” and later became a lawful permanent resident.

Officials had previously said neither Farook and Malik were known to the FBI or on a list of potentially radicalized people. Nor had they had any known interactions with police until Wednesday.

Yet Farook himself had talked by phone and on social media with more than one person being investigated for terrorism, law enforcement officials said.

The communications were “soft connections” in that they weren’t frequent, one law enforcement official said. It had been a few months since Farook’s last back-and-forth with these people, who officials said were not considered high priority.

As to what role those communications played in the San Bernardino carnage, the official said, “We don’t know yet what they mean.”

Added Bowdich, from the FBI: “That is the big question for us: What is the motivation for this?”

San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan echoed that sentiment, while adding that whatever led the two to launch Wednesday’s assault, they could have killed more had they survived. He pointed to the discovery of hundreds of rounds of ammunition in their rented black SUV as well as in their apartment.

Authorities also found 12 pipe bombs there, as well as hundreds of tools that “could be used to construct IEDs or pipe bombs,” the chief said.

“If you look at the amount of obvious pre-planning that went in, the amount of armaments (they) had, the weapons and the ammunition, there was obviously a mission here,” added Bowdich. “We know that. We do not know why.

“We don’t know if this was the intended target or if there was something that triggered him to do this immediately. We just don’t know.”…

Farook, an American citizen, was an environmental health specialist with the San Bernardino County health department, which was holding the holiday party. He had worked there for five years.

In an online profile, he described himself as a “Muslim Male living in USA/California/riverside” and his family as “religious but modern.”

He “enjoys working on vintage and modern cars, reads religious books, enjoys eating out sometimes. Enjoys travelling and just hanging out in the back yard doing target practice with his younger sister and friends,” his profile read….

Please let’s not question his mosque buddies, family members and friends if they are Muslim as that would be the end of diversity that has served us very well over very many years. Please question all the liberals in his close circle of friends to find out how “shocked” they are and make sure that we prevent everybody getting a gun so that we are easily slaughtered by these cult members of religion of piece.

Real serious, as in the Global Jihad is here serious. We know from recent history where communism goes, it goes broke. That’s why the communist Chinese now allow a zone of property and freedom within its framework, to not go broke. But where is the Holy Ko-Ran headed, where will it take us. With the murder manual book it’s not about going broke or not, it’s about something else, and freedom is involved. Or the total absence of it.

This far into the news cycle and we still haven’t heard from the survivors about what in particular got the Muslimads mad. I think that’s very suspicious. I don’t think this earlier report

Also: this far into the news cycle and the authorities still haven’t told us who the third suspect is. Here’s hoping we don’t find out he or she is now safely in Saudi Arabia.

“If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, it must be a duck”, lets see.
    * The murderers have names that sound like they come from countries that have large Muslim populations.
    * They had automatic weapons and substantial ammunition which is the behaviour of other Muslim terrorists.
    * They had at least one prepared bomb which failed to go off, bombs are common to terrorist attacks.
    * This was premeditated murder not work place violence of sudden rage.
    * They had no honour or respect by targeting disabled people and their helpers, another trait of evil barbarians.
    * They dressed the part, like other terrorists.

It’s a disgusting evil cover-up on the part of the certain parties. How much more new potential innocent blood is on their hands by continuing to hide the reality of what’s going on. Their agenda is twisted and wicked, sad that certain employees have to follow the orders of their superiors or else!

Justice in the end will prevail, sadly at a cost in lives of the innocents which could have been preventable.

A mere 14 dead is a disappointment, by Jihad mass murder standards. Had they been good Moslems, they coulda gone into another building and gone on to murder dozens of retarded children, but they didn’t do that. As a Moslem, I’d have to axe questions about the reasons why not. These two are not fine Mujahidin, they are underachieving losers. No Jannat for them. Or him. With a corpse count of only 14, the wake leaves us in workplace violence territory, like Ft Hood with 13. You know he got his job as a food inspector because of Affirmative Action, and that confers open opportunity, especially living as a taxpayer funded bureaucrat. Well, I’m inspecting his food, and it is a rotten fare. He left hundreds of un-murdered retarded children behind, and failed to serve the Cause. As an epicure of Moslemism, I give this Farook dude a bad review. Bah.

Today on Howie Carr he said “maybe it was a premature jihadation” where he thought he’d kill his co-workers first and then move on to the planned target. You are right, thankfully, he proved to be pretty inept.

      • dumbledoresarmy says

        Dec 3, 2015 at 11:50 pm

If that was the case, then by his attack on his co-workers he brought himself and his partner to the attention of the San Bernardino police.

Who identified him, tracked him, and in short order *obliterated* him.

At one level, Infidel Intelligence agencies, top brass and the rest are a long way from recognising the problem.

But what I’ve been seeing more and more at ground level is that first responders – whether in the USA, Canada, Israel, France – seem to have come to the conclusion that when it’s yelling Allahu-akbar and there is a body or bodies on the ground – or nearby bodies in danger of being shot or stabbed or blown up – you **obliterate** it with extreme prejudice as fast as you possibly can. They might not be able to articulate why, but they’re doing it.

think of the jihadi who attacked the Canadian parliament. Yes, he got the unarmed young soldier who was standing by the Cenotaph outside. But the minute he got inside the Parliament, and was galloping along a corridor waving his weapon…the ex-RCMP Sergeant-at-Arms took aim and fired. BOOM. No more jihadi.

Think of the jihadi who murdered Curtis Cheng. He’s outside the NSW police HQ yowling Allahu-akbar after doing the murder…and out come the cop first-responders and blow him away, just. like. that. End of problem…no wearisomely expensive trial, no long and expensive (to the tax payer) jail term busy dawa-izing other prisoners both Muslim and non-Muslim. Gone!

Before that, there was the jihadi who ambushed and knifed two Aussie cops. But one of the cops, though wounded, took him out. Bang! Stone. cold. dead.

More and more, the jihadis attempting knife, vehicle or other types of attacks in Israel are getting dropped in their tracks.

part of it is probably the realistic possibility that any such jihadist might be a/ wired to explode and/ or b/ have associates waiting to attack as well.

Drop them fast and hard – with a shot to the head, say – and they can’t detonate any explosives they’re wearing…even if someone else is holding the switch, if the human bomb is taken down fast that gives less time for a ‘remote control agent’ to act. Furthermore, if you put the jihadi out of action fast, then however many ‘friends’ they have waiting to jump out and start shooting, you’re still dealing with one fewer than otherwise.

Quite the LOVE story, go on the Hajj, meet your wife, and then go to live happily in the USA. I don’t know of course but I would guess the true story is quite different. Perhaps a trip first to Pakistan for hands on bomb making instructions or weapons training, at some time during that trip he meets his jihadi soul mate. (or perhaps she was in Saudi already and he met her brother or cousin or perhaps they did randomly meet online, doubt it.) They both share the frustration of not doing something for allah in a world of so many infidels, so much opportunity. They have no excuse! She takes employment in Saudi Arabia, can not imagine they met during the Hajj, but it was important for him to do this ritual especially with his assumed jihadi aspirations.

From Saudi Arabia I would imagine it would be easier to come to the USA than from Pakistan, he brings her here after filing for a simple fiancee visa and a $340 filing fee of course. They are in constant contact with other anxious operatives, they prep for an attack that at best is triggered by their own perverted feelings toward normal, happy non-Mohammadans. But that too may be doubtful, it may have just been the day they picked ahead of time.

    Just speculating of course.

Muslims were the United States first foreign campaign. They were attacking our shipping in the Med.sea. We sent a warship to combat them. They tricked the Captain, and he ran the ship aground. Then they captured our sailors and the ship. They used OUR ship to capture other vessels. Our sailors were treated as dogs in their prison. A land offensive was launched against them, to free our sailors. But, at the last minute, it was called off, because our government caved, and paid the muzzies the ransom. Our first act of cowardice, even though our marines were succeeding. They have never forgotten. Most Americans can barely remember 9-11.

Infidel, our campaign against the Barbary Pirates was *not* a failure. In fact, our actions inspired Britain and France, who had been paying ransom and “tribute” for ages.

In the course of a few years, we made the Mediterranean Sea safe for the shipping of all nations–something that hadn’t been true *for a thousand years*.

This is something for us to be proud of–not ashamed of.

      • dumbledoresarmy says

        Dec 4, 2015 at 5:54 pm

        Yep.

There’s a nice accessible account of the – ultimately successful – US naval campaign against the Barbary Pirates, in a book by C S Forester, the same guy who is better known as the author of the “Hornblower” series.

It’s called simply “The Barbary Pirates”.

The redoubtable Hugh Fitzgerald, well known to the older hands at this comments forum, recommended it years ago; I bought a copy second-hand and can endorse the recommendation wholeheartedly.

a slogan worth remembering is the one that was dreamed up by, I think, Thomas Jefferson – “Millions for defence…**not a penny for tribute**”.

I think Jefferson, were he to have travelled forward in time to the present day, would take a *very* dim view of the millions in de facto Jizya or Tribute money that the USA is paying to insatiable Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, the ‘poor Palestinians’ and any number of other sinister Mohammedan entities. I don’t think he’d approve of the ‘deal’ that Obama did with Iran. And as for the even more astute John Quincy Adams…his opinion of the present policy of grovelling appeasement and enablement would be simply unprintable.

By particular imam or all imams in existence today? By any mosque? By his “prophet” very example? That constantly repeated mantra of enemedia that some Mohammedan was “radicalized” serves one purpose and one purpose only: to cover up the next savage behind the corner which is right now (as you read it) redicalizing himself/herself by believing in this bunch of nonsense named “Islam” which will cause the next carnage tomorrow and the day after.

Enough people seem to believe it since he has been elected twice and it’s quite possible someone spinning similar fairy tales will succeed him. Discussing Islam in itself, discussing Muhammad and his example, discussing the Qur’an as it is understood by the consensus of Islam’s scholars, forever…is verboten. Except for the jihadis, and they are not to be listened to. After all, no sensible educated person takes religion seriously as someone’s true motivation and, after all, no religion teaches hate, intolerance, war, and murder…how weird and confusing would that be? Round up the usual suspects: psychological problems, economic injustice, racism, bigotry, Internet hypnotism, too many twinkies….and lurking behind all the smoke and mirrors of self-deception is what Bat Ye’or once defined as dhimmitude: fear disguised as respect.

As for motive, it’s obvious but we won’t hear it from the Police or FBI. I strongly believe there has been a directive from above to the FBI to avoid releasing any information or statement of motive when a homeland terror attack occurs. We saw this vagueness after the Army recruiting office was attacked at Chattanooga. They must avoid all mention of Islam being a factor in the attack. And that goes all the way back to Obama.

This is what happens when you let Islam into your country.

That said, the situation is hopeful — the world is waking up to what is going on.

    There are 2 billion Muslims.
There are also 6 billion non-Muslims who have had enough with the daily Islamic terrorist attacks.
    Enough is enough.

The global anti-Islam movement gains more strength every day.

I’d estimate about 1000 years, by then, Islam will be gone as a major force in this world.
    Maybe even less.

I honestly think that there will come a day that Islamic terror attacks will be a thing of the past.

Unfortunately, it’s going to take time. The Reconquista took about 700 years.

Human goodness, with effort, will eventually prevail over the Evil that is part of the spectrum of the Islamic faith.

OT There is major jihadist fighting going on in the Congo right now, the Allied Democratic Forces from Uganda (which despite its name is a jihadist group) has been carrying out killing sprees just this past week, massacring and hacking people to death in a hospital, carrying out raping sprees, UN forces are fighting them there now. South African troops backed by South African attack helicopters have been carrying out raids on rebel jihadist bases there. But the Congolese govt, which is murderous itself does not want the UN troops there so much. Complicated, very complicated. Here for a brief overview of what’s been going down from a South African news site. http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/2015/12/02/South-African-forces-attack-Congo-rebels%E2%80%9A-sparking-possible-diplomatic-row

Why not one article on this at jihadwatch?? Because it’s Africa? Is only Boko Haram worthy of attention? This needs an article or two at the least at jihadwatch. How many on the SB killing, compared to far worse jihadist atrocities that are happening right now in the Congo. That involves a UN peacekeeping mission of twenty thousand up against jihadists. And other nefarious groups and political entities.

Excellent point! One of the problems is that so many of the African leaders themselves are corrupt with corrupt administrations (you have referred to the Congo). so, for the world, butchery in Africa is hardly news!

This is very unfair because most Africans are fighting against all odds to make a better life. The problem is that their leaders rip all the wealth from the economy for themselves and don’t have goals like universal education, building more schools, hospitals and health centers which would encourage using birth control.

What they do, is blame the West or their opposing tribal group. In South Africa, the regime that began with such hope after apartheid, now has a typical greedy goon at its head who funnels all discontent against the remaining white population. In fact there is a genocide of white farmers taking place at this moment but that is never reported by the media either!

Africa is the richest continent on earth in terms of natural resources and yet it is the poorest. Until Africans embrace universal education and birth control, for as long as old tribal traditions still have a foothold, especially in the countryside, until African leaders can he punished for their rapacious greed, Africa will continue to be a basket-case.

Just to correct an error, I don’t think SA troops on the ground involved, just SA attack helicopters (actually manufactured in South Africa, called the rooivalk). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denel_Rooivalk

Where is the outrage over this senseless pipe violence!

Pipes kill! The only solution is better regulation of pipes, such as no pipes in schools or public transport, and requiring everyone (especially people in Illinois, California, and New York) to register for a pipe purchasing ID card after a thorough FBI background check. Not to mention laws to hold parents accountable for not locking up any pipes which they legally own.

I mean, for heaven’s sake, there is currently no age restriction on the purchase of pipe and it is available in almost all hardware stores. And pipes are versatile weapons–you can make a bomb or just beat someone over the head with one. They come in all sizes!

It’s clear that the pipefitters unions (disproportionately white male conservatives) are behind this US pipe culture–which is not surprising since conservative white males are the greatest terror threat we face today.

PEX tubing is much safer than metal pipe, more environmentally friendly (to reduce global warming another clear link to terrorism), and not historically associated with lead poisoning of inner city children. PEX tubing (no toxic gases during welding or sweating) and is freeze resistant.

There is no constitutional amendment granting anyone the right to buy or own pipes. All we need are a few motivated state legislators to end the violence forever.

We must join together to ban the sale and possession of all pipes, which amount to miles of potentially deadly weapons in most older homes and many public facilities including schools, daycare centers, and religious buildings.

Police stations should offer Pipe Amnesty events where people can bring in their dangerous pipes, no questions asked. Let’s get the pipes off (or out from under) our streets!

BAN PIPES! This will solve all of our problems! Let’s get the TV ad campaigns started!

Suppose one is a patriotic Infidel Scot – or a number of Scots – residing in a part of Scotland – Glasgow, say – afflicted with a Mohammedan colony that has installed a mosque and is broadcasting the Muezzin’s howl.

The perfect riposte would be to obtain a selection of recordings of classic bagpipe performances and attach to heavy-duty ghetto blasters, to be turned on the instant the muezzin started up….drown him out.

I assume you think that is very clever, Not. To make bombs pipes have to be cut to a short length. Regular pipes are used in long sections for obvious reasons. The short pieces also have to be threaded at both ends to make a bomb and fused also. Likening pipes to guns is just facetious nonsense. Guns are ready for killing the moment you walk out of the store with them that is what they are for and they have no other purpose.

WHAT THIS PERSON CLAIMS TO LIKE TO DO??

Did the article not say the he liked to do target practice with his sister? Not sure the sister would be allowed to do that where they come from, but anyway in America she is free to do target practice.

Do you remember the 9/11 commission report “they were at war with us but we were not at war with them?”

Yeah, they were out there doing target practice (just for sh+ts and giggles I’ m sure) and you were listening to msnbc and nancy Pelosi how Americans should have their guns yanked away from them because of these evil hate-mongers that have pushed their way into our country.

To the working troll on here pushing gun control,

And by the way, most people can’t pick up a gun on impulse and shoot it, unless it’s accidently unlocked and loaded but those are rare.

A gun requires skills so your argument that guns are bad because people can get mad at a Christmas party and just get a gun and kill impulsively doesn’t fly but you keep trying and don’t forget to get your paycheck.

It’s long past time to ban all Mohammedans from immigrating to the U.S. and Europe. That’s it. You follow a fascist, supremacist ideology of hate — irrespective of whether or not you heed its command to violent jihad — you don’t get the privilege of living in a secular democracy, with all its attendant privileges and prosperity. Simple as that. Stay in your dusty, miserable country of origin and keep the predictably deleterious effects of the ideology of “Submission” to yourself. Blindly following totalitarian ideologies must have consequences.

  33. It isn't Islam's fault says Obama says

    Dec 4, 2015 at 4:43 am

Hang on, the media and Obama don’t want us to jump to conclusions. Just because he corresponded with radical muslims, was a radical muslim, went to Saudi Arabia, believed in the violent tenets of Islam and was willing to fight for Islam….I don’t want anyone to jump to conclusions about his motives. He could have been “mentally ill”, “under stress”, had an “argument at work”, been “underappreciated”, been discriminated against…let’s ponder what the media and Obama want us to believe first and run with that one. I think it has nothing to do with Islam and all to do with his upbringing, or America’s weather. Something, but not Islam. Perhaps it was the Buddhists fault.

  35. Andrew H. says

    Dec 4, 2015 at 11:34 am

Obama’s remark is telling – “Maybe he had mixed motives.” Obama knows about mixed motives: To establish caliphates with the Muslim Brotherhood, to populate the U.S. with enough Muslims to lead to a future caliphate – to feather his own nest the way the Clintons have feathered theirs, to have all positions of power in government held by Muslims or Africans or African American Muslims. There’s more – to wipe off the map Israel, to be canonized by the Pope and to be declared a second prophet by the Muslims – to make all non-Muslims in the U.S. pay a dhimmi tax

  36. Jim says

    Dec 4, 2015 at 11:52 am

The most important piece of information I received this morning was in the comments section of this article, namely the posting by Amy Glass that one motive was that one of the killers had an argument over religion, specifically Islam, with a Jewish co-worker. I receive minute-by-minute reports from the New York Times and here it is almost 10 hours after Amy made her post here. It was also yesterday via either Jihad Watch or the Geller site that I found out (before the New York times) that the father of one of these guys said he was a good Muslim. In fact these two pieces of info I have yet to hear of see mention of on any major news media. I can only conclude that much of U.S. media criticism I see appears well founded. I have even from time-to-time tried to post a comment having to do with terrorism on a major media site, only to discover that it never gets published. I have great respect for the PBS News Hour and have watched it continuously for years. But often I am disappointed that they spend too much time going “in depth” on stories that have little weight in the average American’s life. Meanwhile issues of major interest and concern are hardly dealt with at all. I was pleased last night for the first in a long time that Gwen Eifel really pressed Secretary of Defense Carter on the fact that many Americans feel the U.S. is “not doing enough” on prosecuting the war against ISIS.

Regarding the pipe suggestion, although this may seem far-fetched, it is not really a bad idea. At the very least, if I go to Ace Hardware and buy a couple sections of pipe, I would not object to sign a form giving my name, address, and phone number, and being asked to show my driver’s license to be sure I’m not putting down the wrong info.

May the force be with us all.

    • Myxlplik says

      Dec 4, 2015 at 1:07 pm

After all of that & the major awakening you had, you came up with registering pipes as a security solution? You don’t think the doctrine of Islam, Jihad and immigration has more to do with this than pipes?

Registering pipes…. I had to say that again.
