Syed Farook and San Bernardino: MSM narrative fail, CAIR steps in

Dec 3, 2015 11:08 am By Ralph Sidway

As America reacted to Wednesday’s horrific mass shooting at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California, in which 14 people were killed and 17 wounded, some mainstream media were racing to craft their preferred narrative.

That narrative creation process was in high gear throughout the early afternoon, while the situation was still quite “fluid,” as some would say. At about 3:20pm, MSNBC was reporting that a Planned Parenthood clinic was “only a few blocks away.” After Twitter erupted with ridicule once people began checking their Google Maps, Bloomberg Business tweeted at 4:29pm,”San Bernadino [sic] shooting happened less than two miles from a Planned Parenthood health clinic.”

Bloomberg’s “less than” qualifier was “less than” sufficient to convince anyone the attackers were somehow targeting PP. Aren’t all map apps and GPS more accurate than within a two mile radius?

Calls for gun control from President Obama and Hillary Clinton failed to address why San Bernardino’s gun-free zone status did not prevent the shooting.

By mid-afternoon EST, the Liberal narrative had failed, and details were beginning to leak out.

The facts released thus far present a complex scenario with the main suspect, Syed Farook, having possible connections to a person investigated for terrorism a few years ago, and having travelled recently to Saudi Arabia.

RT France was first to report the chief suspect’s name, Syed Farook. NBC followed a few hours later, citing multiple sources. Soon after, the New York Daily News had interviewed Syed Farook’s father, who described the suspect to be a “very religious” Muslim.

Over at CNN, ex-CIA analysts were describing the assault as having “the hallmarks of the sort of attacks you see in the Middle East,” multiple shooters, IEDs, etc.

The Daily Beast seems to be the first news organization to locate and approach the Farook family’s home in Corona CA:

Farook lived at a home with his wife and children in Corona, California. The Daily Beast knocked on the home’s door and was met by a man who said, “My name is Farook.” When asked if he knew Sayed, the man said, “Of course I know him but I have nothing to say.” When asked about Syed being named as a suspect, he said, “I have nothing to say.” […]

Five minutes after he answered the door, Farook got into a white car and drove away, answering questions again with, “I have nothing to say.”

The Daily Beast contacted Farook’s sister, Saira Khan, by phone on Wednesday shortly after the shooting. She said the media was jumping to conclusions on identifying the suspect and said that her brother was at work. Khan said she would try to get in touch with her brother and pass along his contact information.

Some additional pieces to the puzzle have emerged:

CNN reports that Farook had “abruptly left” the holiday event for county employees. And from the Wall Street Journal: “Government records show Mr. Farook, a U.S. citizen, traveled to Saudi Arabia last year.” (Thanks to Breitbart News for these links.)

The NY Times reports on possible international connections:

One senior American official said that Mr. Farook had not been the target of any active terrorism investigation, and he was not someone the bureau had been concerned about before Wednesday’s shooting. Other officials said the F.B.I. was looking into a possible connection between Mr. Farook and at least one person who was investigated for terrorism a few years ago.

There were also accounts by investigators that one of the attackers had recently had a dispute with fellow employees, according to law enforcement officials who did not want to be identified.

Chief Burguan confirmed that someone left the party after a dispute, “but we have no idea if those were the people that came back.”

This last assessment seems at odds with CNN’s reporting cited above.

At the late evening press conference, however, Fox News reports, “I’m now being told…[police] are going on the premise there wasn’t a disagreement…he was there to case the location.”

MSNBC relates a survivor’s account:

The shooters who opened fire in a conference room at a California center for the developmentally disabled Wednesday didn’t say anything before they started spraying the room with bullets, the husband of a woman who was shot but survived said.

Salaheen Kondoker’s wife, Annie, an environmental engineer who works for San Bernardino County, was inside the conference room when gunfire erupted at around 11 a.m. local time.

“They just started shooting … they didn’t yell or say anything beforehand,” Salaheen Kondoker said his wife told him.

News reporting continued late into the evening at a San Bernardino police press conference, with tantalizing bits of evidence being tweeted. From Raheem Kassam at Breitbart:

20-21 officers in shootout with suspects, both dead. First suspect Syed Rizwan Farook, 28. Second is Tashfeen Malik, 27.
“There was a relationship” between Farook and Malik…
“It really looks like we have 2 shooters…”
“We have not ruled out terrorism…”
“Based upon what we’ve seen… how they were equipped… there had to be some level of planning”
Journalist asks if any connection to ISIS: “I’m not gonna weigh in on that one” says police spox
“We have multiple addresses for [the suspects]…”

Did political correctness enable the shooter’s plot to be carried out? Will Carr of Fox News tweeted this:

@KNX1070 reporting a neighbor did not call authorities about suspicious activity bc she did not want to racially profile

CAIR steps in

Once Syed Farook’s name was released as one of the suspects, CAIR-LA immediately scheduled a press conference. The full text of CAIR-National’s press release can be read here. The key statement reads:

“We condemn this horrific and revolting attack and offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed or injured,” said CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush. “The Muslim community stands shoulder to shoulder with our fellow Americans in repudiating any twisted mindset that would claim to justify such sickening acts of violence.”

Breitbart reports Farook’s family was “in shock”:

At the CAIR press conference, Syed Farook’s brother-in-law Farhan Khan is present and delivers a statement. “I have no idea why he would he do something like this. I have absolutely no idea. I am in shock myself.” Khan does not answer questions from reporters. Executive Director of CAIR-LA says “We unequivocally condemn the horrific act that happened today.”

The reaction of some to the CAIR presser is that it seemed odd:

Toby Harnden: Weird weird weird @CNN right now. No mention of Islam & then live to CAIR presser w multiple people saying it’s nothing to do with Islam.

toddstarnes: Not quite what to make of that CAIR presser….Odd.

“We know that the next time Muslims commit a heinous act, the PR script is already written.”

Absolutely right. Each incident is just a chance for them to refine it further. It really is like living in an insane asylum.

I would not trust a carpet kissing young man to be allowed to work with development disabled children. While Most Muslim males might not be an issue, all Muslims follow Muhammad’s example and therefore have a built in rationalization for taking sexual advantage over others.

Exactly, They are predisposed (by being Muslim) to follow Muhammed’s example of violence, hatred, rape. I’ve never seen any other extremists that rape in the name of their gods.

He didn’t work with these kids, Jay Boo–the facility was just where the office party was held. Although he certainly endangered them by shooting up a party in a conference room on facility grounds.

But Farook did work as a restaurant health inspector–a position almost as easy to abuse in terms of targeting the filthy Kuffar.

And they keep referring to the terrorists not as terrorists or Muslims but as “a married couple”. Being half of a married couple I feel I need a press conference to express my remorse like the CAIR folks yesterday.

Indeed. The extraordinaire speech by Marine Le Pen to the EU Parliament on Dec.1 st.really should not go unnoticed: “If you are unable to name the enemy, you cannot fight the enemy. The assassin is not terrorism. Terrorism is the weapon. The murderer is the ideology of Islamic fundamentalism”

The whole speech, (has English text) 6 min and 23 sec full of heavy weight facts:

La Pen better be careful she’s starting to sound a lot like Robert Spencer, she may go from being labeled merely right wing to being called a “greasy Islamophobe”.

          Wear it with pride :).

This demonstrates again that even someone fairly well assimilated, if they retain the Muslim “religion” and continue to have ties with places like Saudi Arabia also harbor an elevated chance of randomly exploding into a massacre of innocents.

Just called the White House comment, got busy signal, but tried till got through…202 456 1111, was polite (volunteer operators, many there for decades), but ANGRY. Said, this was an Islamic Jihad, terrorist attack. Don’t even try the ‘workplace violence nonsense’ that workplace violence incidents don’t have multiple shooters with BOMBS, that this was PLANNED. Stop all Muslim immigration, NOW. As far as TSA allowing Muslims to pat themselves down, because of religious discrimination, that it is DISCRIMINATION AGAINST AMERICANS, non-Muslims, and has to stop, TODAY. Secure borders. And re gun control, the Wash. DC sheriff was right, that if a good American with concealed carry…kill the shooters, there would be LESS DEATHS. We have the absolute right of self-dense.

I’m sure I’m on a ‘gov’t list’. But I have grandchildren and am going to push for our Constitutional Rights, including our 2nd Amendment, so we can have our 1st Amendment, until stopped. I NEVER CALL FOR VIOLENCE, against anyone. But I have told the WH comment line, that ‘Obama should resign’, then be arrested and tried in a court of law for his treasonous policies, such as giving Iran nukes.

When you see someone on any blog, promoting violence, REMEMBER CASS SUNSTEIN’s suggestions for stopping dissent, involved undercover agents, riling people up (like the BLM?), and instigating violence to make dissenters look bad, and to shut them down. Sunstein was Obama’s first REGULATORY CZAR, and is the husband of Samantha Powers. What I’m saying is that someone promoting violence, MAY NOT BE A SIMPLE TROLL.

Slightly off topic, but now Obama has said: “We have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere else in the world”.

Huh!!!?? No similar violence anywhere else in the world? Gee, I guess the countless terrorist attacks that happen all across the rest of the globe don’t count? I would have thought the sum total would greatly exceed the US. Or does he not count them when the weapons are bombs and knives? But then, the casualties in the Paris gun attack exceeds the recent US attacks put together.

And he is not trying to ban planes because of 9/11 either.

No, his unspoken message is that there is something uniquely bad about America, unspeakably worse than any other place in the world, which (because he will not of course allow that it could have anything to do with the perpetrators) can only have to do with access to the weapons. He will use this latest attack to advance his goal of weakening Second Amendment rights. Additionally, by focusing exclusively on the guns used, he will gain the additional benefit of shifting the blame off those using them.

So he simultaneously kills two birds with one stone: 1. disarm the American population and 2. Distract them from identifying the enemy.

      Dec 3, 2015 at 7:05 pm

And don’t forget 3. Demonize the American people, and make them sound guilty of their own victimization.

CAIR reveals it’s ugly head again. With little to no information at hand on the shooters, with the exception that they were Muslims, they haphazardly set up this presser. After the usual statements of condemnation, with an obligatory statement by a family member they tried to run and hide, only to be peppered with more questions, making it look as bad as it appeared on TV.

Why is the Council on American-ISLAMic relations even involved with the mass murderers’ family?

In Western civilization – but nowhere else – it is still considered unfair to punish even immediate family for terrorist crimes by one of their members (frequently aided and abetted by the family). This is a fundamental principle of our system of justice. Indeed, spousal immunity often leads to wives or husbands going free in circumstances where an unrelated co-conspirator would be convicted of murder.

Justice is important, but In times of warfare, a prudent government will apply very different principles and priorities.

Syed Farook and San Bernardino: MSM narrative fail, CAIR steps in
    …………………………..

Yes, it’s failed–but much of the MSM is still doggedly at their denial.

    More:

Salaheen Kondoker’s wife, Annie, an environmental engineer who works for San Bernardino County, was inside the conference room when gunfire erupted at around 11 a.m. local time.

“They just started shooting … they didn’t yell or say anything beforehand,” Salaheen Kondoker said his wife told him.
    …………………………..

How much searching did MSNBC have to do to find a survivor who was married to a Muslim? There are only a few thousand Mohammedans in the entire county.

Clearly, this is intended to paint Muslims as victims.

    More:

@KNX1070 reporting a neighbor did not call authorities about suspicious activity bc she did not want to racially profile
    …………………………..

If she had overcome her fear of being thought a “racist”, she might have saved a lot of lives.

But the MSM is doing everything tye can to demonize people who *do* say something. Remember the excoriation of the teachers at “Clock Boy’s” school?

    More:

“We condemn this horrific and revolting attack and offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed or injured,” said CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush. “The Muslim community stands shoulder to shoulder with our fellow Americans in repudiating any twisted mindset that would claim to justify such sickening acts of violence.”

Yea, right–this from the same creep who refused to distance himself from Hamas.

At the CAIR press conference, Syed Farook’s brother-in-law Farhan Khan is present and delivers a statement. “I have no idea why he would he do something like this. I have absolutely no idea. I am in shock myself.”
    …………………………..

From reports so far, Khan is married to Farook’s sister. Farook and his homicidal bride were using their house as a bomb building factory, and were engaging in target practice in the backyard. Unless this turns out to have been mistaken–no reason to suppose it will–then it is rather difficult to take this denial at face value. What a shock…sarc/off

  18. Westman says

    Dec 3, 2015 at 11:30 pm

Mustafa Kuko, director of the Islamic Center of Riverside (Farook’s Mosque) has trouble understanding how Farook could have betrayed the very principles of his religion. “We’re told in Islam if you take one human life, it’s as if you’ve taken all of mankind.”

Aren’t we tired of that perversion, quoting something given to Jews, not Muslims and then ignoring the vicious verse that follows which IS addressed to Muslims?

“Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.

Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment,” – Quran 5:32-33.

Quran(5:33) perfectly describes the attitude of violence allowed to Muslims under Islam, just what we see with Daesh and these SB killers.

ISLSMIC IDEOLOGY IS THE PROBLEM, NOT INDIVIDUAL MUSLIMS. Mustafa Kuko, you’re selling the image of a pussycat when Muhammad created a lion. There will be the backlash you fear, not against Muslims, rather against Islam in general – an ideology unfit for modern human consumption.

The ideology of Islam will continue to cause violence until it is abandoned or officially revised. It is the motherload of violent ideas.

The perpetrator is a devout Muslim but his act is nothing to do with Islam. If Islam is as claimed (falsely) the religion of peace, then the more devout the Muslim is, the more unlikely it should be for him/her to commit jihad acts. In fact we regularly see that when a Muslim becomes more devout he turns to jihad
    Reductio ad absurdum

  20. Jerry says

Islamophobia is the irrational fear by non-Muslims, that Muslims will inevitably unceasingly continue to carry out committing the unspeakable atrocities they have been perpetration for the last fourteen hundred years in the name of a fake deity they call Allah and a fake prophet they call Mohammad.
