In light of the fact that Trump denounced our free speech event in Garland, Texas, last May, it is not at all clear that he understands the jihad imperative or the war against free speech, or is at all equipped to counter them. People like Trump, Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham who took issue what we were doing in the wake of the jihad attack on our event in Garland don’t seem to grasp what the freedom of speech is all about. What they’re missing is neatly encapsulated in what used to be an adage: “I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” In other words, I will stand with you against tyranny, because even if I disagree with your opinions, I understand that once opinions begin to be criminalized, or those who hold them bullied into silence, we are all the poorer, and all at risk.
Trump doesn’t get this. After Garland, he breezily and readily voiced his willingness to adhere to Sharia blasphemy laws and refrain from drawing Muhammad.
But in this instance, however, he is running afoul of the prevailing insanity of our public discourse. It is blazingly obvious that “there’s something going on” with Islam, and “a lot of hatred coming out of at least a big part of it,” and “something nasty coming out of there.” That these are even controversial statements, much less evidence of “demagoguery,” shows how stringently the mainstream media enforces politically correct fictions. Islam is a religion of peace, and if you express the slightest skepticism, even the diffident and tentative skepticism Trump voices here, then you’re a xenophobic demagogue. White male Christians are the real terror threat, don’t you know that? War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength.
“Morning Plum: Yes, Donald Trump’s demagoguery just got even uglier,” by Greg Sargent, Washington Post, November 30, 2015:
…Now Trump’s demagoguery has taken a new turn that could focus the debate a bit more directly on this implied message.
On Morning Joe today, Bloomberg’s John Heilemann asked Trump directly whether he thinks Islam is an inherently violent or peaceful religion. Trump declined to answer, and instead suggested that there is a “lot of hatred” coming out of a “big part” of Islam:
HEILEMANN: “Do you think that Islam is an inherently peaceful religion that’s been perverted by some? Or do you think Islam is an inherently violent religion?”
TRUMP: “All I can say is there’s something going on. I don’t know that that question can be answered. It could be answered two ways. It could be answered both ways. But there’s something going on there. There’s a lot of hatred coming out of at least a big part of it. You see the hatred. We see it every day. You see it, whether it’s in Paris, or whether it’s the World Trade Center….
“There’s something nasty coming out of there. You could answer it any way you want. But at least we have to know the problem.”…
By declining to say whether Islam is a violent religion, and by suggesting that “hatred” is coming out of a “big part” of Islam, Trump has exposed the xenophobic subtext of his rhetoric about Muslims…

Doesn’t the MSM care about my feelings?

Too bad Trump is not more knowledgeable about Islam; he should study under Robert Spencer so he could destroy these liberal apologists for Islamic violence and misogyny.
Paul Hoffman says
Trump is a quick learner…as I have read Jihad Watch for over a year and have been studying Islam as long…my first reaction to the truth about Islam seemed surreal…but as the facts rolled in and supported my study of Islam’s history…I came to see just how great a threat Muslims present to humanity…not just the West….Trump is quickly catching up with the truth about Islam and Muslims…his recent statements about hitting ISIS hard along with changes in the Rules of Engagement are proof that he is gaining wisdom and will act in the best interest of America in defeating (or at least setting in back – hopefully decades) this threat.
Shane says
Nobody cares if Whites, conservatives, men, or Christians are offended; the left hates these people. The left’s nemesis are White conservative Christian men; they would put us all into “re-education” camps if they could and only about 25% of use would leave these camps alive.

It appears that Trump is trying to please conservatives, which is something no one else is doing in Washington. He is also not afraid to speak out when he thinks something needs to be said, also something no one else in Washington is doing. The common denominator to all this is the “Republican Donors” who are actually Wall Street Democrats.
An article from Washington Newspaper “The Hill” said this week that the “Establishment Republicans” which consists of the Bush Dynasty Republican Donors, have decided that if Trump is nominated, they will support (buy) Hillary with their money. How about that…this is what I have always suspected. The Establishment Republicans are one and the same as the Establishment Democrats. How often have we heard that Republicans must “get along” with Democrats when in fact the Establishment Republicans ARE the Establishment Democrats.
We are looking at a big money machine and this money machine loves Muslims. Trump is messing with their nice little racket and they don’t like it. They fear Trump will clog up the gears of their nice machine thay have built over the last 25 years, This money machine will buy any politician who plans to stay elected. They will get rid of any politician who doesn’t go along with them and remember, the money machine loves Muslims.
This leaves Trump as the only prospect for any change that may come out good for conservatives and our very sane and guarded approach to Muslims. (Ted Cruz has his own single huge donor but how long can that last against a conglomerate of huge donors that control most of Washington.) Trump is the “fly in their ointment”. The rational default for Trump would be to find what we like and respond to our needs. It seems he is now doing this regarding Muslims and I believe he is also doing what he wants to do. He knows Muslims are not his friend but he deals effectively on a daily basis with people who are not his friend. He believe is winning and that would include against Muslims.

If you want to make a worthwhile suggestion on his campaign website, it would be the suggestion I have made to Trump supporters over at Breitbart. Trump has some commendable qualities but one of them is NOT humility. He is too arrogant to admit he’s been wrong about anything, from wrongly condemning Pamela Geller for her Draw Muhammad Cartoon event, to mocking a reporter’s disability. Trump needs some good advice (adviser) on the religion of Islam. If he would just apologize for his stupidity, I suspect Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer and many of their supporters would let bygones be bygones. I could be wrong about that. I doubt it. Trump made an egregious error. He should man-up.
jihad3tracker says
Hello wildjew —
Yes, I agree: he is arrogant, and should apologize for his stupidity, as well as shed the juvenile habit of trying to weasel out of being caught doing things — like the mocking of a physically challenged reporter.
What I did not say in the post above: as obnoxious as Trump is, his willingness to at least think aloud on Islam’s pathology MIGHT lead other Repub candidates to grow dicks of their own and follow his lead.

I agree. Senator Cruz slipped twice on this issue; once after Carson said he could not personally support a Muslim president and then after Trump was ambushed by a reporter on the registry thing.

I thought it was clear that the reporter with disabilities uses his problems to gain sympathy and weasel his way into advantageous situations. Speaking of hubris, Barry is way over the top. At least Trump has something to be proud of: something that creates, that improves the lives of others. Barry has done nothing but destroy America. Something I’m sure he is proud of.

There is something to be said for journalists , commentators, or those who write for them to be required to know and understand the topics about which they write. Trouble is, these professions are an inbred shop, a closed-minded society, a product of our progressively out of touch institutions of higher “we-believe-we-know-it-all” elitist snobbery. They are absolutely missing the truth of reality. This is the real lack of “diversity.”
Greyhound Fancier says
How many fellow reporters must be beheaded before “journalists” recognize that there’s a problem with Islam?
Gerald Mucci says
Even if any candidate had the perfect understanding of the evil and dangerous doctrines and practices promoted by Islam, they would be intimidated into silence or equivocation. It’s difficult to know who truly “gets it”. What does it take for the truth to break through?
eduardo odraude says
The problem is that those on the Left who really believe Islam is a religion of peace are backed up by those on left and right who are afraid to criticize Islam for fear of being attacked by violent Muslims while being tarred as a racist by some on the Left. The result is that the debate takes place on a public playing field invisibly tilted in favor of those who say Islam is a religion of peace. Those on the sidelines who have no particular opinion do not hear the opinions that are silenced, and so the widespread assumption arises that most of the evidence is on the side of those who claim Islam is a “religion of peace,” or is no worse than all the other religions.
We all tend to be somewhat “brainwashed” by PC-ness. Don’t know if I can support Trump, but what is unusual about him is how he seems relatively un-brainwashed.

Trump does not understand Islam and its imperatives and I don’t think he will ever understand it. It has taken great effort on the part of Mr. Spencer and many other notable and distinguished scholars to get to this point where they can articulate logically and with evidence why Islam is bad. They did not get their by feelings or by casual observations. It takes great study and persistence, something that most of us lack. Mr. Trump, a successful and busy entrepreneur, and one who is guided more by practicality than by intellectual considerations, probably is not inclined to delve into learning about Islam and understanding the intricate web of deceitful strategies its proponents utilize to achieve their goal, which is to impose their way of living on all. I hope I am proven wrong, but I don’t believe Mr. Trump will get it on Islam.
wildjew says
Most people are not willing to invest the time to investigate the religion of Islam in any kind of depth. If Trump is sincere in terms of what he has been saying about Islam then his instincts are sound. He needs a good adviser on the religion of Islam. The problem is, there are so many apologists and semi-apologists for Islam out there.
Dan Fruth says
It is unfortunate that America has declared jihad on truth. I mean seriously, Trump can’t tell the truth for fear he will be smeared as a biggot….The true face if Islam is ‘submission” and until the whole world is submitted to this islamic ideology, Islam will still push for conquest…..Look at Islamic history from 629AD through to the Paris attacks…And you will find a clear continuation of violence in the name of “submission”

This sentence for our demise is a real mandate found in many places in the Koran. So, by advertising this Koranic mandate to the world hopingly it will stimulate our human nature to seek and wakeup our self preservation attributes!
The Muslim’s world wants this to manifest at all costs. It will probably manifest itself if this mantra (taewidha) spreads and is ritually repeated and aided by non-Muslims. It’s a natural mindset phenomenon that occurs, but hard to explain; it will come to fruition if we fail to negate the effects.
Be advised: the Muslim world is centuries ahead of the Western world in this phenomenon practice….the five daily obligated taewidha (mantra) prayer rituals are part of these practices!

Harry Truman tried very hard to learn about everything…more than most politicians. He read widely, unlike Trump who sounds as though he reads nothing.
Truman lacked a broad formal education and was almost entirely self-taught.

Your point is not badly taken, mortimer. Truman was more curious about all things than Trump is, no doubt, but as I wrote above Trump reminds me of Truman in “some ways,” but not all,
Would I prefer Harry leading America rather than The Donald after the dismal man in the Oval Office is gone as of January 20th, 2017? You bet I would. But Harry is no longer around. Damn shame because if any President in American history would be willing to read the riot act to the Islamic world, none would be a better choice than the 33rd President and few would be his equal.

I agree with you on this Wellington. People can contact him. He does get the messages. Here is one I sent:
You seem to have been worried (and “waffled”) recently about a question that was put to you by Eric Bolling of Fox News about whether or not you would uphold the U.S. Constitution over sharia law. Your response was: “Well, I think it’s an argument I don’t want to get into, it’s not my argument, so it’s an argument that I won’t get into.”
You had BETTER get into that argument if you want to hold the office of President of these United States. Your answer should have been:
“Damned straight I will; and I’ll tell you why. If I become the president of the United States, the first act that I must take is the presidential Oath of Office, which states: ‘I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.’ Just because some presidents we know have not remained faithful to that oath, does not mean that I intend to follow in their footsteps.”
That is why the answer to that question should have been a no-brainer. I realize that you are taking hits right, left, and below the belt. The “establishment”, both Democrat AND Republican, are scared $hitless of the possibility of you actually being able to weather the storm for the next year. (Personally, I think you will. To the best of my knowledge, you have never been known to be a quitter.) So… the next time that question is asked, you will have a valid and effective way of not only answering the question, but disarming the attacks against your answer.
The following article might be of some interest to you in this regard:

But I’ll give you a few examples to enlighten you: A woman is worth less than a man and needs 4 male witnesses to prove she was raped under Islamic law. People are put to death in Islamic countries for blasphemy, isn’t this the 21 century, since when did we kill people for saying something someone else does not like? Homosexuals are hung in Iran. *** Note: I tried posting this a few minutes ago. It did not show up. Sorry if this may be a “repeat” ***
With regard to your war with the media about Islam:
No Mr. Trump. The problem is not just “radicals” who have “hijacked a noble religion” as the enemedia would have the sheeple believe. The problem IS izlam (sic – on purpose). The fact that many muzlims are not “devout” practitioners of that poisonous totalitarian ideology does not lessen the impact of the evils of izlam. (And you never know when otherwise “peaceful” muzlims here in the U.S. and elsewhere will fall prey to “Sudden Jihad Syndrome”.)
If you are serious about being a president who wants to return the United States of America to her lost greatness, you had better get serious about learning the TRUTH about the greatest enemy the world has today. Don’t settle from the lies of Middle East / Islamic so-called “experts” from academia and the “diplomatic” world. They will feed you pablum bullsh!t. Don’t trust the likes of anyone from the “Muslim Brotherhood” or “CAIR” or any of their front men, because they will feed you the same bullshit. Their job is “stealth jihad” – to keep the enemy’s eyes closed about the truth of izlam until they are ready to strike.
No, there are a few who will tell you the truth. However, they are castigated as “haters” by the likes of the SPLC, CAIR, and most of the enemedia. I’ll give you a short list:
Robert Spencer, Steven Emerson, Stephen Coughlin, Walid Phares, Lt. Col. Matthew Dooley, Pamela Geller, Nonie Darwish and Wafa Sultan.
Remember, the so-called “peaceful” verses of the Quran were “revealed” while Mad Mo was still in Mecca; and was trying to influence the Jews (and others) to accept his “religion” and him as “the last prophet”. In approx. 13 years he managed to gain only about 150 “converts”.
When Mad Mo left Mecca for Yathrib (which he later re-named Medina), and converted from a proselytizer to a raiding, raping, murdering warlord – promising any and all who would follow him a share of the booty and women from his plunder – was when he gained thousands of followers. It is the verses of the Quran from this time period on, referred to by many as the “Medina” verses, that were vicious, intolerant and downright murderous towards any who did not follow his foul “religion” from hell. And these verses abrogated – or superseded – the older, more tolerant verses in the Quran.
It is these verses that devout muzlims lived by – from the 7th century up to today – and it is these verses that motivate the likes of ISIS, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, Al Shebab, and so many others who see the evil “prophet” of izlam as their “perfect man”, to be emulated for all time. Don’t be deceived by the izlamists and their advocates quoting the earlier Meccan verses of the Quran to clueless “infidels” – that’s US – in order to hide their true methods and goals.
Here are a sampling of those “Medina” verses w/regard to anyone who does not follow Mad Mo’s evil path. (The verses are taken from the Quran):
2:191-193: “And slay them wherever you come upon them…”
4:89: “They wish that you should disbelieve as they disbelieve, and then you would be equal; therefore take not to yourselves friends of them, until they emigrate in the way of Allah; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them; take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper.”
5:33: “This is the recompense of those who fight against Allah and His Messenger, and hasten about the earth, to do corruption there: they shall be slaughtered, or crucified, or their hands and feet shall alternately be struck off…”
8:12: “When thy Lord was revealing to the angels, I am with you; so confirm the believers. I shall cast into the unbelievers hearts terror; so smite above the necks, and smite every finger of them!”
8:60: “Make ready for them whatever force and strings of horses you can, to terrify thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides them that you know not; Allah knows them. And whatsoever you expend in the way of Allah shall be repaid you in full; you will not be wronged.”
9:5: “Then, when the sacred months are drawn away, slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them, and confine them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they repent, and perform the prayer, and pay the alms, then let them go their way; Allah is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.”
9:29: “Fight those who believe not in Allah and the Last Day and do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden — such men as practice not the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book — until they pay the tribute out of hand and have been humbled.”
9:111: “Allah has bought from the believers their selves and their possessions against the gift of Paradise; they fight in the way of Allah; they kill, and are killed; that is a promise binding upon Allah in the Torah, and the Gospel, and the Koran; and who fulfills his covenant truer than Allah? So rejoice in the bargain you have made with Him; that is the mighty triumph.”
9:123: “O believers, fight the unbelievers who are near to you; and let them find in you a harshness; and know that Allah is with the godfearing.”
47:4: “When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks, then, when you have made wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds; then set them free, either by grace or ransom, till the war lays down its loads.”

From “An Explanatory Memorandum” – Muslim Brotherhood:
“The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”
*********************************************************************************************
From the Muslim Brotherhood: “The Project”:
Rather than focusing on terrorism as the sole method of group action, as is the case with Al-Qaeda, in perfect postmodern fashion the use of terror falls into a multiplicity of options available to progressively infiltrate, confront, and eventually establish Islamic domination over the West. The following tactics and techniques are among the many recommendations made in The Project:
* Networking and coordinating actions between likeminded Islamist organizations;
* Avoiding open alliances with known terrorist organizations and individuals to maintain the appearance of “moderation”;
* Infiltrating and taking over existing Muslim organizations to realign them towards the Muslim Brotherhood’s collective goals;
*Using deception to mask the intended goals of Islamist actions, as long as it doesn’t conflict with shari’a law;
* Avoiding social conflicts with Westerners locally, nationally or globally, that might damage the long-term ability to expand the Islamist power base in the West or provoke a lash back against Muslims;
*Establishing financial networks to fund the work of conversion of the West, including the support of full-time administrators and workers;
* Conducting surveillance, obtaining data, and establishing collection and data storage capabilities;
* Putting into place a watchdog system for monitoring Western media to warn Muslims of “international plots fomented against them”;
* Cultivating anIslamist intellectual community, including the establishment of think-tanks and advocacy groups, and publishing “academic” studies, to legitimize Islamist positions and to chronicle the history of Islamist movements;
* Developing a comprehensive 100-year plan to advance Islamist ideology throughout the world;
*Balancing international objectives with local flexibility;
* Building extensive social networks of schools, hospitals and charitable organizations dedicated to Islamist ideals so that contact with the movement for Muslims in the West is constant;
* Involving ideologically committed Muslims in democratically-elected institutions on all levels in the West, including government, NGOs, private organizations and labor unions;
* Instrumentally using existing Western institutions until they can be converted and put into service of Islam;
* Drafting Islamic constitutions, laws and policies for eventual implementation;
* Avoiding conflict within the Islamist movements on all levels, including the development of processes for conflict resolution;
* Instituting alliances with Western “progressive” organizations that share similar goals;
* Creating autonomous “security forces” to protect Muslims in the West;
* Inflaming violence and keeping Muslims living in the West “in a jihad frame of mind”;
* Supporting jihad movements across the Muslim world through preaching, propaganda, personnel, funding, and technical and operational support;
* Making the Palestinian cause a global wedge issue for Muslims;
* Adopting the total liberation of Palestine from Israel and the creation of an Islamic state as a keystone in the plan for global Islamic domination;
* Instigating a constant campaign to incite hatred by Muslims against Jews and rejecting any discussions of conciliation or coexistence with them;
* Actively creating jihad terror cells within Palestine;
* Linking the terrorist activities in Palestine with the global terror movement;
* Collecting sufficient funds to indefinitely perpetuate and support jihad around the world;
In reading The Project, it should be kept in mind that it was drafted in 1982 when current tensions and terrorist activities in the Middle East were still very nascent. In many respects, The Project is extremely prescient for outlining the bulk of Islamist action, whether by “moderate” Islamist organizations or outright terror groups, over the past two decades.

An excellent article by Nicolai Sennels on “Why We Fight Islam”:
http://10news.dk/?p=506
Bill Warner’s “Why We Are Afraid, the 1400 Year Old Secret”
Matthieu Baudin says
“… he is running afoul of the prevailing insanity of our public discourse. It is blazingly obvious that “there’s something going on” with Islam, and “a lot of hatred coming out of at least a big part of it,” and “something nasty coming out of there.” That these are even controversial statements, much less evidence of “demagoguery,” shows how stringently the mainstream media enforces politically correct fictions…”
The mainstream media has picked up a prevailing Post Modern tenet, that words and texts are pivotal in creating reality and therefore a crusade of politically correct speech (they’d probably describe this as ‘appropriate speech’ or ‘inclusive speech’) is necessary in order to steer the world in a better (‘progressive’) direction.
The Frankfurt School, an academic Marxist club was pushing this type of humbug before WW2 in the belief that choosing Politically Correct Speech would be ‘consciousness changing’ and hasten the revolutionary process.
We now have many political leaders and heads of state who give weight to this nonsense and consequently show an aversion to ‘action’ and a strong preference for ‘correct speech’ in International Affairs.
Baucent says
Actually I think Trump answered the question fairly well. The reporter was trying to coax out a reply that could then be used to label Trump as an Islamophobe. Trump side stepped that trap (which is what it was) but makes the comment that few reasonable people would deny that “There is something nasty coming out of there”. Only the far left can’t see a connection between Islam and terrorism but they are not his target audience.

I’d love to know who Spencer and Geller are supporting in the presidential race. They are welcome to run; it’s a free country. Instead, they have been throwing continual potshots at the bravest, most successful truth-teller in the political arena in decades. He has called for mosque surveillance. Which other candidate has?
Spencer and Geller have offered, as far as I’ve seen so far, ZERO help to Trump on the issue of Muslim Americans celebrating 9/11. They are pouting because he didn’t endorse their Garland stunt.
Trump is not going to pander to the readers of this website by announcing World War 3 with the goal of eradicating Islam from the face of the earth. He is trying to get elected, and is pushing the envelope remarkably far. Remember the 1860 election?
FWIW, I support a complete ban on Muslim immigration. I hope you fanatics get real about the political landscape. Trump is the best shot we have of taking back our country from the politically correct lies.

Trump is dead on and right about islam.,,.if you doubt this take a look art the many christian leaders who understand what the suras are saying in the koran. Suras are laws in their holy book. Watch U tubes a critique on islam and see for yourself what this cult stands for. During the IRAN IRAQ war in the mid eighties they would march their children into mine fields of the opposing army. Both sides killed thousands of children.

A sincere question for Trump-lovers at Jihad Watch: Do you believe Trump is conservative? A few of his opinions line up with yours? Mine, too.
But in America, the only true conservative is a Constitutional conservative. This matters. America’s slide correlates directly with how far we’ve strayed from the Constitution. Conservative voters should always insist that their candidate shows knowledgeable, habitual adherence to the Constitution.
There are two — possibly three — Constitutional conservatives in the race, and Trump is not one of them.

“I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” In other words, I will stand with you against tyranny, because even if I disagree with your opinions, I understand that once opinions begin to be criminalized, or those who hold them bullied into silence, we are all the poorer, and all at risk.
