Yet remember: David Cameron is betting the future of Britain on cooperation and loyalty from these Muslim communities and leaders. He is, in other words, ensuring that Britain’s future will feature bloodshed, chaos and civil war.
The situation in the U.S. is little different, as the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the media’s go-to group for all things Muslim, advises its members not to cooperate with counter-terror investigations: a California chapter distributed a poster telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI, and a Florida chapter distributed pamphlets with the same message.
“Muslims ‘stay silent’ on extremism tip-off scheme,” by Fiona Hamilton, The Times, December 26, 2015 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Muslims are boycotting the country’s key anti-radicalisation programme, The Times can disclose, after it emerged that less than a tenth of extremism tip-offs were coming directly from the community or faith leaders.
The revelation that there were fewer than 300 community tip-offs in six months to the government’s Prevent programme will raise concern that the police are being denied information that might prevent terrorist attacks.
The vast majority of referrals to the scheme are instead being made by the police or public bodies such as schools and the NHS.
Even though the figures relate to all kinds of extremism, including…

Now let’s be fair! I’m astonished that there’s even ONE muslim who assists the anti-jihad effort. I mean, it’s all supposed to be about allah and their pedophile pervert prophet moo-ham-ed (pee be upon him). So wow-how American of them!
They’d better be careful tho’. If the savages find out, off with their head. Or their hand. Or their clitoris.
Angemon says
You mean that the group whose spokespeople said that asking them to help curb “extremism” in their midst was unfairly targeting them and turning them into “extremists” are not fighting “extremism”? Now, who could have seen THAT coming…?

300 tip-offs about “extremism” in six months. An average of 50 per month. That’s 10% of total which is thus about 3000 tip-offs in six months and 500 per month. What happens with these tip-offs? Are the “extremists” pointed out then put under surveillance? Are most tip-offs investigated, or are many of them deemed unworthy of investigating? How many of the tip-offs turn out on investigation to reveal imminent threats of jihad?
A more interesting question, but one that may be impossible to answer: What percentage of UK Muslims would tip off the UK government about extremism? What percentage might be too afraid to tip the government, but are glad when others give the tips? What percentage would not tip the government because it is a non-Muslim government?
Kathy Brown, Esq. says
Well of course we can do that. Quite legally; and indeed, quite easily. In fact it’s as easy as revoking the idiocy of ‘anchor babies’.
Whenever a religion proselytizes about something non-religious, their tax-exempt status is pulled. Poof! Gone.
Now islam is constantly preachng that sharia must govern. Oh-and not your heart. Not your mind. Not even just your ethics (tho’ I realize islam has none). They’re talking overthrow existing government and replacing it with sharia. Gee-that must mean it’s an ideological construct. HELLO!
Look: How fast would my Church’s exempt status be pulled-and yours, and yours-did we tell the faithful not to cooperate with the FBI, for example?
Bingo.
Now as many here have said, all we need is prez who’s on the country’s side. Yes?
Michael Copeland says
“Extremism”, as helpfully defined by the UK government, neatly fits Islam itself. Muslims are not going to report other muslims who are simply being diligently observant. Jihad, which “means to war against non-Muslims”, is a “communal obligation” (Manual of Islamic Law, “Reliance of the Traveller” o9.0, o9.1).

Everyday Muslims, if u can call them that, have a different role in the jihad, which is being fought on many different levels, employing multiple strategies. The ‘moderates’ provide the cover for the violent group to plan and execute the attacks. After the carnage they form a protective shield by rising up against any counter measures. This is not necessarily planned, and neither is there advanced knowledge about an attack. When an attack inevitably occurs, the so-called moderates naturally fall behind the terrorists who are, after all, working for Allah, if u go by the Koran. Very few Muslims will report on the terrorists. Even if they do support terrorist acts, it’s not enough for them to inform on thier co-religions lists. Their alligience to the terrorists is greater than to an infidel country regardless of claims of not supporting terrorism. Surely this should be bleeding obvious by now.

Exactly right.
eduardo odraude says
My sense from the polls I’ve seen of Muslims is that about fifteen or twenty percent of them are unambiguously for genuine freedom of religion and freedom of speech. Then you have large percentages that have mixed attitudes toward totalitarian aspects of Islamic law and have mixed attitudes toward jihad. Then you have perhaps ten to fifteen percent who are hard core for totalitarian Islamic law and strongly agree with jihadism. Then you have about one percent who themselves are jihadists or at least seriously contemplate the possibility of becoming jihadists at some point. Many “moderate” Muslims function as the supportive sea in which the jihadists swim.
If the percentages above are correct, and there are three million Muslims in the US, that means 300,000 to 500,000 who are hard core for Islamic law whenever conditions permit, and strongly agree with jihadism (if it doesn’t hurt Muslims). If the one percent figure is correct, than something like 30,000 contemplate becoming jihadists at some point.

Singh,
Your comment ….Their alligience to the terrorists is greater than to an infidel country regardless of claims of not supporting terrorism.
Is very relevant and very true. Some years back when Karzai, president of Afghanistan was asked about who he would support in case of war between infidels and Taliban he shamelessly retorted that he would support Taliban his brethren.
The West is wasting its time, money, energy, manpower and related resources taming the beast of Islam. They should quit policing the Islamic barbaric nations.

“British Police, Go To Hell” is the cry of the Luton demonstration filmed with Stacey Dooley, and on placards. The no-longer-resident Omar Bakri instructed his listeners not to co-operate with the police. Police are actively harassed and scorned by muslim demonstrators and by residents forming no-go zones, as recorded in video footage.
It is rather too simpleton of the government to rely on members of the Ummah, told in the mosques to “make a state within a state”, and who operate their own police applying Sharia law at variance with British law.
Their placards speak for themselves:

On the Liberty GB website, in the ideology section there is a claim that Britain belongs to the British. How is this any more fatuous to the claim Israel belongs solely to Jews or that Saudi Arabia is part of Muslim lands? Under 3: Principle of National Preference, you claim that British people should get preference over non brits in education, housing, employment and welfare. How is this anyway different to treating non Muslims as the infidel or kafir? You would have to break long founded laws of the UK to do so, never mind the conventions we are signed up to such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Are you really so daft as to conflate nationality with religion? It’s simple: British citizens in Britain – you know, the bulk of tax-payers, the people whose hard-earned money pays for education, welfare, housing, etc. – should have preference when it comes to spending public money. Notice that it says “British citizens” – that includes British *muslims* getting preference over non-British muslims, or non-British Christians, or non-British Buddhists, etc. Which is clearly NOT the same as telling non-British to become British, live as second-class semi-slaves and paying huge taxes to support British, or die. Because that’s how muslims are taught to treat infidels – convert, pay huge taxes so that muslims don’t have to work and can live a life of luxury, or die.

This is a vexed question. I for one would resist government attempts to teach me how to practise my religion. The difference, of course, is that, while my religion may contain somethings that aren’t exactly politically correct, it doesn’t create a legal subculture and doesn’t demand that I blow anyone up.
In any country that subscribes to the Universal Declaration on Human Rights, anti-radicalisation efforts could be seen as impinging on people’s freedom of religion.
So perhaps we need to go back to the drawing board and work out when something’s a religion and when it is a totalitarian legal and political system masquerading as one.
eduardo odraude says
Even religions must obey the law. Anti-radicalization efforts are based on that. Being a religion does not mean one has First Amendment protection to murder people or incite to murder. The Mormons were forced to give up polygamy. That is not protected by the First Amendment. Neither is violent sedition or treason.
However, the slightest ambiguity in the language used to incite unlawful acts tends to provide First Amendment cover. That’s perhaps the challenge Islam provides in relation to the First Amendment.
eduardo odraude says
Insofar as Islam is a political system at least as much as a religious one, mosques could in theory lose their tax exempt status, since political groups are not entitled to that status.
But that sort of measure and stronger ones are of course unlikely except in something like a national emergency situation where people are willing to accept rather drastic action against the cause of the emergency.

“The difference, of course, is that, while my religion may contain somethings that aren’t exactly politically correct, it doesn’t create a legal subculture and doesn’t demand that I blow anyone up.”
This is exactly the distinction that must be made.
“In any country that subscribes to the Universal Declaration on Human Rights, anti-radicalisation efforts could be seen as impinging on people’s freedom of religion.”
Yes, I wonder about this as well whenever I think of this issue.
“So perhaps we need to go back to the drawing board and work out when something’s a religion and when it is a totalitarian legal and political system masquerading as one.”
This is a point/question that I have been wondering about for a long time. If we could get Islam formally classified as a political system instead of a religion, then we would better address all these problems without messing with the freedom of religion.
The problem is, I have no idea as to how this could be done. Or if it’s even possible to have it done. But I think if we could get Islam to be viewed like Nazism or like the KKK – as a genuine hate group – then we could deal with it in a more effective manner.
Isn’t there someone, somewhere in the world thinking along these lines and trying to come up with a solution? I certainly am not smart enough to do it. But there has to be someone! Or a group of people, trained in law and such, who could sort this out.
I think it could be the solution! Or at least the start to it.
Raja says
Mo,
Your reply to Salome was detailed and reasonable. I’m sure many would agree with you that political systems masquerading as religion have to be dealt with as such.
Few years ago one of the former prime ministers of Australia stated that he does not consider Islam to be a religion. This is a reality. God can help these things become a reality.

It’s been a few generations back, but most of my ancestors came from the British isles. Obviously, back then, the UK was a different place. If my Grandparents could see what has happened to their once Great Nation, they would be either, spinning in their graves or weeping their hearts out.
Islam is the bane and horror of this world. It should have never been allowed to TAKE ROOT in England!
The USA (my country) is making the save, very grave mistake that England did. This, oh so very Evil and Perverse Ideology must be BANED! IT IS NOT A RELIGION. And certainly does not deserve the respect or legal protections that a REAL RELIGION would have EARNED.
My dear wife of 35 years entered the hospital on Dec. 15th. She is improving but is still there. When I saw several staffers dressed in the costumes of female Muslims, I nearly vomited! Luckily, none of these poor, deluded souls have anything. To do with my wifes care. And no reason to even enter her room.
Yes, I know, they are likely harmless. And I will not condemn the innocent with the guilty. BUT, its a sign of our times. And I am deeply discussed with our governments total surrender to this seditious and very evil enemy.
As always, may GOD BLESS these United States of America.

Relying on Muslims to fight Islamic terrorism is like relying on the Soviets to fight the spread of Communism. How can these people be so naive and/or ignorant? Don’t they even read the Islamic religious texts? The Qur’an says that those who become allies of the non-Muslims are not Muslims themselves.
