Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Biden: US & Turkey prepared for “military solution” to take out the Islamic State

Jan 23, 2016 6:40 pm By Robert Spencer

Somehow I doubt that Crazy Joe is on the level here about either the U.S. or Turkey.

Biden

“Biden: U.S. and Turkey prepared for military solution in Syria,” by Bradford Richardson, The Hill, January 23, 2016 (thanks to Jerk Chicken):

Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday said the U.S. and regional ally Turkey are prepared to seek a military solution in Syria to try to solve the nation’s five-year-long civil war.

Speaking after a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Istanbul, Biden stressed that a political solution to the problem would still be preferable.

“But we are prepared if that’s not possible to having a military solution to this operation and taking out Daesh,” he said, according to AFP, using another name for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

A U.S. official emphasized the vice president’s comments do not signal a change in U.S. policy toward Syria, adding that Biden was referring to continued efforts against terrorists alongside a political solution to the civil war.

Remarking on the chances of achieving a political solution in Syria, Biden said: “We are neither optimistic nor pessimistic. We are determined.”

Biden said he discussed with Davutoglu how both nations could further support Sunni Arab forces who are trying to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

He also denounced the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), a communist group that is banned in Turkey, as a “terror group, plain and simple.”

He said ISIS “is not the only existential threat to the people of Turkey. The PKK is equally a threat, and we are aware of that.

“It is a terror group, plain and simple, and what they continue to do is absolutely outrageous,” he added….

Turkey will never take real military action against Islamic State because Turkey gave birth to and nurtured Islamic State. And Obama will never take real action either because he’s a feckless pos who is incapable of contradicting his Muslim man crush, Erdogan.

To Rich- Your comments make sense to me, I am an American and a Ronald Reagan Republican. But what about this thought: President Erdogan wants to be the Caliph. He doesn’t want Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to continue as the self proclaimed Caliph. So Erdogan will commission Obama (after he leaves office next year) to be his “Advance Man” to proclaim to the world the “political correctness and Islamic legitimacy” of his case to be the true Caliph. Does that seem realistic? ?

        @ Linde Barrera

You are very perceptive to see what most Americans do not concern themselves with. Your reward is a friendly referral. Walid Shoebat’s website speaks often in this same vein and I believe he is right. Erdogan created Baghdadi and Erdogan certainly can take down Baghdadi. Erdogan certainly will be the Caliph of the Muslim Ummah and of the rebuilt Ottoman Empire, that much is clear. There is already a mountain of evidence to this effect in the Turkish and Arabic media. The only question is: can Erdogan find a use for Baghdadi after Erdogan takes his place as Sultan of the Muslim Ummah. Presently, Baghdadi is useful to Erdogan, clearing the battlefield of those nuisance Christians and Yazidis, et. al, and forcing each regional player (read Russia and Iran) to show their hands a bit. But ultimately Erdogan will either co-opt Baghdadi’s gains and subsume him somehow into the revitalized Ottoman Empire he is building or simply have him dispatched. Baghdadi is a bit player compared to Turkey, obviously. He serves at Erdogan’s utter pleasure and the moment he has outlived his usefulness he will be ‘hired on’ as a subordinate or killed. The Islamic State, so called, will continue in existence for precisely as long as Erdogan says it will, that much is without doubt.

As for Obama, he is the “house negro”. Following Muhammad’s example, modern Arabs and Persians have almost no respect for anyone of African heritage. With Muhammad, they refer to them as “raisin heads” or simply “abd” (slave). So his only use for Obama is as a financial tool, supplying military materiel, always careful to be sure this is done under the “moderate rebel” fig leaf, and acting as a friend, confidant, and supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood. Obama, like Baghdadi is useful to Erdogan. But Erdogan has a plan that Obama is no part of, in the long term. Obama’s biggest help thus far to his distant man crush has been his overt support at every level of the Muslim Brotherhood, a group which has been and will be fundamental to Erdogan’s rise to Caliph of the entire Muslim Ummah and leader of the revitalized Ottoman Empire. Watch for it.

          Jan 24, 2016 at 2:56 pm

Agreed. Erdogan wants to be the Caliph. Of course, Erdogan also hates Bashar al-Assad. If Erdogan can oust Assad without harming ISIS too much he might do so. That is, he doesn’t care if a few ISIS fighters get killed if, in the end, he gets to control Syria and the rest of the ISIS fighters are still sufficient to establish his caliphate. Biden is an idiot if he trusts Turkey. Obama, of course, is best buddies with Erdogan. Barry will be happy to be the U.N. Secretary General overlooking Erdogan’s transgressions as he runs rtughshod over the Middle East.

Rich, I agree with most of what you say. Incidently, but before before continuing, please read up on Obama’s half brother and member of the brother hood, Malik Obama.

There are however two severe problems. One is Russia, and they hate the Turks, intensely. If Erdogan does indeed attempt a full scale attack upon Assad, the Russians will defend him to the hilt. For once they don’t want to lose their only Mediterranean basis. Further, if they let him fall, they lose all the credibility they have been building up so far.

The other is Iran, they’d go ballistics (?!) if there were to be a new Turkish Caliphate. It’s utterly anathema to them. It has to be, think about the local Shiite minorities, and it wont be fun for them. Additionally Iran itself would be under immense pressure, it would be practically encircled. South of the gulf the Arabs, Sunnis. More Sunnis to the east, Afghanistan/Pakistan. And then a Caliphate to the west and south west… Add inner tribal and national treaties – Europe 1914.

Your interesting post answered a question long in mind, namely: Why are the Russians so close with the Iranians, just to snub their noses at the west? They are not stupid, and certainly not that stupid. That question spooked me for years. I think I can see the answer, they were aware of the possibility of a new Caliphate, and the Turkish desire for it, since a long time. I became aware of it only for the last year or so.

If that happens, then Russia will be practically forced to act, and the Iranians wont need much of a nudge. Moreover, a Turkish Caliphate and in the Balkans every alarm siren will be howling. In addition to that, lots of Arabs will hate the idea of a Turkish Caliphate, they sure remember the last one. Talk about 1914….

          Any thoughts?

all the bombs and troops in the desert will not mean much for our safety, unless you open an honest examination into the motives of the jihadis (good Muslims) and their enablers, the so-called “moderates” (bad Muslims) who are actually Hypocrites and apostates according to Islam…

This makes no sense. The Obama administration stance is that Bashar gotta go. Taking out the islamic state would be beneficial to Bashar.

Is Biden saying “Here!” and building up momentum to step in as a Democrat 2016 candidate?

Sounds to me that Turkey and the US will first take out the Assad government, which is the easiest target for them.

After that, the way will be clear for Islamic control of Syria. The US has shown itself to be unable to distinguish between different Islamist groups, so the US will dump loads of arms and ammunition into Islamist groups, most of which will eventually end up with the Islamic State.

Turkey is a wild card in this. If Turkey is serious about taking out the Islamic State, they could have a good shot at clearing it out of Syria. I doubt if they would be interested in fighting in Iraq or Libya, so the problem will still remain. I think Turkey will lose interest once it demolishes the Kurdish proto-states in the area.

Of course, directly attacking the Syrian government brings the US into danger of a shooting conflict with Russia. The Obama administration has already shown itself to be irresponsible in its relations with Russia through its wholly unjustified meddling in the Ukraine.

I can’t believe anything good will come of increased involvement of the US in the Syrian matter.

Yes they stood at the podium screaming death to America but both of them were nothing but blowhards all talk. We had them contained but Nope had to take them out! The result Irag and Libya are under control of terrorists. If the same happens in Syria we will really have a major problem on our hands we need Arabs to handle the terrorists Arabs.-oldsklmarine

I’m sure that in his creaking political hack brain, Crazy Joe is thinking that he’s going to go to Turkey, spin his yarn he’s told a million times about his Scranton, New Jersey days to Erdogan, the Islamic supremacist dictator who has clamped down on Turkey, and victory over the Islamic State (which inexplicably has nothing to do with Islam) will be assured with their newfound alliance!

That’s really how stark raving bonkers he is. No kidding. That’s why Obama bin Laden loves him so.

I think Obama must be panicking right now.

What if his successor actually has the best interests of America at heart and actually scrutinizes Obama’s actions while in office. You know, stuff like:

Selling guns to Mexican drug lords and blaming the second amendment.

Using the IRS as a political weapon to attack opponents.

Aiding America’s enemies such as Al Qaeda and ISIS.

Murdering American citizens with no due process.

We have to stop the Islamic incursion into the United States. The Democrats seem hellbent on allowing this. Trump is right; stop Muslims from coming into the country. If it ruffles the feathers of some Islamic leaders-good. They do nothing to inhibit the extremism and I firmly believe they are all glad when something bad happens to us.

I believe Biden will make a run for the convention, as Hillary will be prosecuted for her emails.

Bernie Sanders, while making good headway [his commercial about America is brilliant], is a socialist and that rings of Communism, so it will never fly with midstream America [Oh, I pray and hope I am right about this one!].

The sign that you are correct is that every time FBI Director James Comey is mentioned, the TV announcers always quickly follow with a genuflection to his integrity. This is being done to set up the news that after a $50 million investigation of Hildabeast by expert crime fighters not enough was found to merit prosecution. Hildabeast will then demand an apology, Comey will evade making one, a raft of I told you so proclamations will erupt from the mainstream media, and the whole affair will be forgotten. And she’ll be elected.

The lesson in all this is that the Moslems always win, even sometimes by idiot luck.

Six months ago, Crazy Joe was accusing Turkey and S.Arabia of supporting IS-what changed? I am so sick of watching US “principles” and foreign policy destroyed by coddling unrepentant genocidal Turkey and greaseball Arab dictatorships like S.Arabia.
Now, the US is building in Syria (without any legal justification) an airbase which will surely put us in direct confrontation with the Russians.
The US needs to get out of Syria and throw islamist Turks out of NATO (or disband it)).
Hey Joe, where ya’goin with that gun in your hand?
Don’t expect any support for your neo-lib warmongering.
