You’re not really surprised, are you?
“When it comes to incitement, is Facebook biased against Israel?,” by Coral Braun, Jerusalem Post, January 5, 2016 (thanks to Pamela Geller):
…Shurat HaDin, an Israeli based civil rights organization, set out in late December to test whether Facebook holds double standards when it comes to incitement. The NGO launched “The Big Facebook Experiment,” which sought to expose the reality of anti-Israel sentiment vis-a-vis the simultaneous launch of two Facebook pages: “Stop Palestinians” and “Stop Israel.”
Following the launch of the two nearly-identical pages on December 29, the NGO posted hateful content simultaneously on both pages over the course of the next few days.
A post on the anti-Israel page read, “The Zionist bites Palestine part after part and the world is silent. We’ll stop them any way we can,” whereas an identical post calling to stomp on the Palestinian enemy on the pro-Israel page read: “Greater land Israel should return soon from the hands of the Muslim enemy back to Jewish sovereignty! We’ll do it in any way we can.”
The pro-Palestinian page promised to “demolish the Zionist invader,” and called for revenge against the “Zionist enemy that threatens al-Aksa.” A call to rise up against Israel was portrayed in a caricature featuring a Star of David bearing crocodile with the Temple Mount compound perched beneath the roof of its mouth and a knife nested against its snout – an accompanying post to the illustration called for “death to all the Jews.”
Meanwhile, on the pro-Israel page, a post calling to wage war against the “Palestinian enemy” claimed that “more and more soldiers in the IDF know that there is a need to destroy the Arab enemy.” Another post featured a collage of a handful of so-called “price tag” attacks and an accompanying caption calling for “death to all the Arabs.”
The next step in Shurat HaDin’s experiment was to report both faux-incitement pages to Facebook to see which, if either, would be removed under the auspices of hateful content.
Despite featuring identical content, however, only one was removed from the online platform.
The page inciting against Palestinians was closed by Facebook (on the same day that it was reported) for “containing credible threat of violence” which “violated our [Facebook’s] community standards.” The page inciting against Israelis, however, was not shut down, despite its identical hateful content. Facebook claimed that this page was “not in violation of Facebook’s rules.”
Shurat HaDin’s staged anti-Israel group “Stop Israel” still remains active on Facebook.
“The Big Facebook Experiment” backs an unprecedented lawsuit which was filed in October by Shurat HaDin law center against Facebook on behalf of 20,000 Israelis to stop allowing Palestinian terrorists to incite violent attacks against Israeli citizens on the social network’s platform.
The complaint, filed in response to the ongoing wave of terror in Israel, sought an injunction against Facebook which would require stricter monitoring of incitement and immediate response to complaints about anti-Israel or violence-inducing content.”…

I boycott Facebook I only have a bogus page because some sites require a facebook account to access.

But Facebook is owned by a Jew.
Mirren10 says
Exactly.
Being a Jew doesn’t mean one can’t be a deluded, self-hating, dhimmi fool.

I deleted my facebook account 6 months ago for other reasons, but it has been on my boycott list for this reason.

I deleted “Muslim Book” two tears ago. I wanted to put a video of my dog that had past away. They were pictures of when he was a puppy and happy times thru the years. A beautiful Sheltie with one blue eye and one brown. Facebook removed it with a few hours stating it did not meet the standards of Facebook policy. Yet there was a terrorist account showing how to cut throats of Jews and saying the earth will drink the blood of the pigs. I’m not sure if that account was still up when I quit Facebook but I know my dog was too horrible to show.

Yes. To comment on MSN UK articles, you have to access the comments section via Facebook.
I wish I had a Pound/Dollar for every comment that I´ve made about the ” religion of peace” that was deleted within minutes. Of course, comments about all the wonderful contributions that the Muslims make to British society remain on page for days.

Dear Dr. Spencer,
Various scenarios come to mind to explain the above-mentioned outcome.
1. One Facebook employee reviewed both complaints and chose to exercise a bias in against the anti-Palestine page.
2. The two different complaints went to two different people who judged it by different subjective criterion, resulting in different outcomes.
While (1) is clearly worse, (2) is also problematic. Not good.
jura says
It is true. For better judgement more attempts would be necessary over larger time period – like six months to state if it is a Facebook policy or an employees bias.
ainu888 says
Yep. Just one data-pair could be statistical noise. However, there is obviously a lot of subjectivity involved. And we are supposed to trust this platform to express our deepest, possibly unpopular, thoughts.

Does any of those scenarios explain the volume of similar complaints or are they an explanation for a specific case alone? Not seeing a forest for the trees, etc. Plus, there’s that snippet of conversation between Merkel and Zuckerberg regarding censorship of anti-“migrant” posts on FB.

I was not aware of the anti-migrant censorship. Can you please point me to a link? If true, it’s pretty shocking and there is more going on that I am unaware of. In which case, I stand corrected. Thank you.

Wow, just wow. I did not know this. Let me take back what I said. Thanks for the link,

The ever diligent Mirren beat me to it 😉
For two or three years, at least, I’ve been hearing the same kind of stories from people in Italy, France, Spain, Canada and the US: they post criticism of islam on social media (mostly Facebook) and get some sort of on-site punishment while pro-jihadi murderers pages they denounce carry on as usual. They’re just too numerous and spread around to justify with individual cases of zealotry or bad judgment. Merkel and Zuckerberg’s slip up, while not being directly connected to cases that happened before the “migrant” crisis was placed on the spotlight, shows that FB is not a neutral agent allowing everyone to exercise free speech, but an active agent pushing for a certain narrative.

I thought Zuckerberg or whatever his name is was Jewish?? Maybe I’m wrong!

Hello CC —-
Pamela Geller, Robert’s colleague at AFDI and creator of her own blog — www [dot] pamelageller [dot] com — has written many posts on self-hating Jews.
Go to her website to read them. BY THE WAY — IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY AWARE OF THIS: Pam Geller is an absolutely fearless constant defender of our Western freedoms: religion, speech, gender.
She is without any doubt whatsoever, the most courageous person in America.
ainu888 says
No doubt. The other day, when watching one of her videos, I felt myself develop a crush on Pamela. I had to correct myself and pay attention to what she was saying.

I have a crush on Pam and I’m a happily married straight woman!
She just has that effect of people. She is smart, fearless, morally grounded, and does not pull her punches. She kicks ass!

Ok so I replied to this and for some reason it disappeared?? I just don’t understand why people can self hate! That’s sad.
Yes I love Pamela Gellar! She is bold and strong and wants to protect all of us!! I wish I was more like her!!!!

As a Christian, I believe in the power of prayer. Besides praying for our country and for our leaders to seek God and listen to Him, I also pray that God protects Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller who fearlessly exposed the Islamic jihad

I read about this study on FB, but interestingly there was no ‘share’ button for the piece. Various other people were complaining about that in the comments, as well.
For me this removes all question of the prejudice in FB, and certainly shows which side has the most to hide.

I just found it on another site and posted it to friend’s pages.

Sadly, I don’t think that would change Facebook’s attitude. As with the rest of the ruling elites, they would find some way to excuse even an attack on themselves if it were by a Muslim.

INJUNCTION WONT DO- ISRAELIS AND JEWS MUST ASK FOR REPARATIONS
The Law suit will now be evidence material and most probably Facebook will be censured.
So it is better the Class Action suit demands also for reparations and compensations for Jewish victims of stabbings. Say at least 2 Billion dollars.

Shame on Facebook.
Shame on Zuckerberg for not standing up for Jews and Israel when he can easily do so.

Facebook holds double standards It’s pathetic. It’s a disgrace, In each language section of (with the exception of Hebrew), there are muzzie admins and treat the religion of camel piss accordingly. But anti-Semitism is allowed, Zuckerberg should know better.

It is pure bussiness.
For a bussinessman what promises higher future profits?
1,6 billion customers or 20 million customers?
So simple it is.
Unfortunately.
Alan Fontana says
It is logical but still does not sit well with me. It means that FB is complying with an order to let the anti-Jewish anti-Israeli stuff stand. Have the Muslims threatened FB with a boycott or bombing or the decaptitations they are so fond of? That’s what needs to be brought out.

Yeah, his ‘benevolence’ is far reaching…..the BP oil rig disaster has the smell of him about it, since PetroBrazil in which he has a controlling interest was not yet ready to drill in the Gulf. Someone one who says his happiest days were helping his father dispossess Jews for the Nazis, just might have an anti-Israel anti-Jewish bent to him.

I have always argued that the 1st amendment guarantees freedom of speech for the whole world because we achieve it through AMERICAN social media protected ultimately by the second amendment. Facebook have jumped ship on the principle of free speech so must be tough a lesson quickly close your accounts.

I use Facebook every evening, but most of my involvement is non-political. I mostly read about popular musicians who have few political statements to make, and about Studebakers. I could easily eliminate the few political contacts I have, and still have plenty to do on Facebook. Jamie Glazov and Nonie Darwish seem to have plenty of freedom to say what they want on Facebook. I see no reason to boycott it.
