Four Iranian Christians prosecuted for “spreading Christianity”

Jan 24, 2016 12:28 pm By Robert Spencer

Proselytizing for any religion other than Islam is forbidden under Islamic law.

Iranian Christians

“NEWS ALERT: Four Iran Christians Prosecuted For ‘Spreading Christianity,'” by Stefan J. Bos, BosNewsLife, January 24, 2016:

TEHRAN, IRAN (BosNewsLife)– Four Christians in Iran will stand trial for “spreading Christianity” in the strict Islamic nation, a well-informed advocacy official told BosNewsLife, charges that could lead to long prison terms and possible a death sentence.

Pastor Amin Khaki and fellow Christians Daniel (Hossein) Barounzadeh, Mohammad Bahrami and Rahman Bahmani are to face a “retrial” on February 1, said Jason DeMars, director of the Present Truth Ministry group.

The trial that is being held at Iran’s Ahwaz Khuzestan Province Revolutionary Court “is actually a re-trial, upon appeal, after having been convicted and sentenced for spreading Christianity in Iran,” he added.

They were part of a group of eight Christians who were detained and interrogated following a picnic in March 2014 near the city of Danial-e Shoush.

“While they were holding their picnic, Iran’s secret police arrived in plain clothes with guns drawn,” recalled DeMars. “They attacked and injured brother Rahman Bahmani during the incident.”

PRISON MISTREATMENT

Half of the Christians participating in the picnic were released, but the four men were later detained, several Christians said. “They were held without communication and without charges for months, even being transferred from one prison to another,” explained DeMars.

Pastor Khaki was transferred to the Interim Ward of Ahwaz Prison in 2014 where he allegedly suffered what fellow believers called “severe mistreatment”. He and other believers were released on bail in 2014, but prosecutors have made clear they will continue prosecuting them, DeMars suggested.

“Apostasy”, or abandoning Islam and converting others, is punishable by death in Iran, according to Iran Human Rights Documentation Center, though in practise they may face long imprisonment.

“The Islamic Republic has never codified the crime of apostasy, instead, relying on the Iranian Constitution…” the independent group of human rights scholars and lawyers said. However “the differences in interpretations of Islamic law regarding apostasy, contribute to a lack of legal certainty for those living under Iranian laws,” the Center noted….

Yes, this is just another example of how low Muslims are willing to stoop in order to prop up their dead false prophet. It must be exhausting to be a Muslim.

For 1400 years Muslims have continually sought to ‘defend’ what is indefensible (Islam) from every conceivable threat from within Islam and from without.
If Muhammad were not such a crude joke and Islam such an obvious satanic verse hoax Muslims would not feel such a need to persecute Christians nor defend against the slimmest of perceived slights.
Muslims put on such a show off display of their ‘faith’ but thou Muslims do protest too much.
JESUS lives, muhammad is dead just like his rotten religion.

Under Islamic Law, “Spreading Christianity” = “Spreading mischief” (in the land).

For this reason did We prescribe to the children of Israel that whoever slays a soul, unless it be for manslaughter or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew all men; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept alive all men; and certainly Our messengers came to them with clear arguments, but even after that many of them certainly act extravagantly in the land. (Quran 5:32)

The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement, (Quran 5:33)

Therefore imprisonment is perfectly in line with Islamic Law. This is yet more evidence of the collapse of Islam throughout the muslim world:

Most Arabs who leave Islam become atheist. There was a famous medieval Arab atheist poet- Al-Ma’arri. Atheism is not a western import there.

There is an inferiority complex among some sectors of Iranian Persian youth towards the west. They aspire to become obese McDonalds cheeseburger consumers and ape western habits. They think evangelical Protestantism is “western” and dabble in this activity.

There are some older anti-Ayatollah secular Shia Persians who do not want to turn Iran into the armpit of western culture and are against allowing missionaries in. They want to maintain the local culture.

Protestant missionaries will probably say “Nowruz” is a “devil’s holiday” and try to stop them from “worshipping the fire”.

These youth aren’t going into the local Armenian and Assyrian Orthodox Churches for a reason, they aren’t “western”.

So Mazo, Persian youth (Muslims) and there “Persian” culture are the real victims here.

All that’s happening is that Mazo is trying to make out that the young – and many NOT-SO-YOUNG people in Persia who are leaving Islam and becoming Christians are doing anything BUT really and truly placing their trust in Jesus of Nazareth. He wants us to think that it isn’t happening of that they aren’t sincere or that it isn’t really Jesus that they want, but hamburgers. PFFFT.

He’s scared *shitless* of the fact that people anywhere are leaving Islam for Christianity. (It’s happening in Somalia, too, and in Nigeria, and in Uganda and in Kenya. And it’s even happening in the UK and Italy and Sweden, in places where *becoming a Christian*…of ANY variety, Catholic, Orthodox or Protestant…is NOT fashionable. Magdi Allam speaks of *thousands* of ex-Muslims who are now Christians, in Italy).

He’s also trying to “split the camp”.

There is so much ugliness, so many attempts to cause harm to different sets of Infidels all at once, in his nasty, grubby little post that it would take whole paragraphs to unpack it.

Reality is: there *are* people who are leaving Islam in Persia, they are both young and middle-aged (many of them couples) and they are NOT embracing ‘western consumerism’, they are embracing Jesus Christ the Lord…and they are **risking their own lives** when they do it.

I have read Daniel Shayesteh, Exodus from Darkness.

I read Barnabas Fund and I *know* what these Persian Christians are like.

And even in the heavily-secularised *western world*, from among the Persian immigrants, there has been a turning to Christ. Right here in Australia, Christians of different backgrounds find themselves discipling and baptising people who have left Islam. It isn’t publicised much…and we all know why.

Me, I will go right on praying for the Saints, Confessors and Martyrs of Persia…and of Somalia.. and Turkey, and quite a few other places too. The Underground Church. It’s real, and no amount of pooh-poohing and shit-throwing on the part of our vile mohammedan would-be Dementor will stop it from happening.

That’s my reading too, DDA. That, and a load of irrelevant fluff to try to distract from the issue at hand – Christians being persecuted in accordance to islamic law. And his talk about “maintaining the local culture” completely and purposely leaves out that Christianity and Zoroastrianism were practiced in Persia long before being invaded by Arab muslims. Hence his rants against “evangelical Protestantism” – he’s trying to pretend Christianity is some sort of foreign influence against a muslim country.

Persians turning to Christianity or Zoroastrianism are following the local culture. Muslim Persians defending islam are beaten dogs cursed to simultaneously rage against and defend their foreign abusers.

        • Mazo says

          Jan 25, 2016 at 6:20 pm

The traditional religions of Iran are Zoroastrianism and Islam among Persians and the Orthodox Church of the East among Assyrians and Armenian Orthodoxy. There are still Zorostrian Persians in Iran who were never Muslim and their ancestors were not Muslims. They are not “converting back”.

The traditional holidays in Persia are Zoroastrian holidays like Nowruz and Islamic holidays not the commercialized December 25 holiday according to Western Europeans of wearing red hats that St Nicholas never wore himself and stringing up trees which are a German originated tradition.

Iran’s Zoroastrian and Islamic cultural background are never going to go away. Its already affected most of Iran and is ingrained in their tradition.
