Peace in our time.
“Defiant Iran pledges to ramp up missile program, in challenge for Obama,” by Bozorgmehr Sharafedin, Reuters, January 2, 2016:
A series of Iranian officials vowed on Friday to expand Tehran’s missile capabilities, a challenge to the United States which has threatened to impose new sanctions even as the vast bulk of its measures against Iran are due to be lifted under a nuclear deal.
“As long as the United States supports Israel we will expand our missile capabilities,” the Revolutionary Guards’ second-in-command, Brigadier General Hossein Salami, was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.
“We don’t have enough space to store our missiles. All our depots and underground facilities are full,” he said in Friday Prayers in Tehran.
Defence Minister Hossein Dehqan said Iran would boost its missile program and had never agreed to restrictions on it.
“Iran’s missile capabilities have never been the subject of negotiations with the Americans and will never be,” he was quoted as saying by Press TV, an Iranian state channel.
The defiant comments are a challenge for the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama as the United States and European Union plan to dismantle nearly all international sanctions against Iran under the breakthrough nuclear agreement reached in July….
Iran’s senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday Iran’s October missile test did not violate the July nuclear accord, known as JCPOA.
“There is a clear difference between the JCPOA issue and the missile test and the missile test is not a breach of the JCPOA in any way,” he was quoted as saying by Press TV.

The fact of this man becoming the leader of the free world not once, but twice, has got to be one of the biggest embarrassments in all of history.

I’m sorry to say but the rest of the world doesn’t really see Obama as “the leader”. Since the russians started to act in Syria, that role applys more to Vladimir Putin…

I bet Iran would like to send a few missiles to Saudi Arabia after the recent beheading of a Shiite cleric.
I don’t think Iran ever took Obama seriously on any matter – they just said what Obama wanted to hear so he’d leave them alone.

GuntherL says
What did you expect? The US is occupying one neighboring country (Afghanistan), destroyed another (Iraq) and is helping to destroy Syria and Yemen.
Now why do you think Iran is arming itself?
More Ham Ed says
Oh yaaaaaaaaa, we’re doin’ the “destroyin” – go live in one of your islamic “paradise” disaster areas that the U.S. has had nothing to do with – many to choose from – good luck with that. (Always watch out for the leftist keyword/hitword “occupying” – it’s a real giveaway).
More Ham Ed says
Dear “Gunther” – and I might add, those poor worldwide-muslims (lowercase be upon them) they’re all just victims trying to defend themselves against the U.S. effort to construct another disneyland theme park in their country. You (a) have never had a relative blown out of the sky by an unholy ko ‘ran reader or (b) have never had a relative blown out of a building by an unholy ko ‘ran reader or (c) you JUST PLAIN DON’T READ THE NEWS.
GuntherL says
Did I speak about poor muslims? I despise that cult, that’s why I’m here.
Does it mean the US has the right to remove elected presidents or bomb countries for fake reasons? I think not.
GuntherL says
Yes, the US is doing the “destroyin”. This is also admitted by a right wing American website like Zerohedge.
Regarding Iran, the CIA has admitted that they helped to overthrow the democratically elected president Mossadeq. His crime: nationalizing the oil production and taking it away from British Anglo-Iranian Oil Company.

Do you think that’s justified?

Apologist for evil GuntherL is back again…
GuntherL says
Oh yes, resort to insults.
You have no knowledge and no arguments, so character assassination is the only thing left, isn’t it?
JBubs says
GuntherL, I don’t know what I don’t know but I do know some things, and that raises a few questions.
It is an historical fact that between 711 AD and 1492 AD, Muslims invaded and conquered Spain and established a caliphate. They remained occupiers there until they were forced out militarily in 1492.
Who was president of the United States then? Who was in the CIA? What Muslim leader was the CIA responsible for overthrowing? Who owned the oil reserves and refineries?
GuntherL says
JBubs,
As you may have noticed, I am not a fan of Islam at all. I think it’s an evil death cult.
However, with your logic I could also prove that Germans, Japanese or Americans were the most violent people in history.
Regarding US foreign policy: you are making some errors.
First of all, isn’t it weird that the allies of the US are the most fanatical Islamic countries: Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Erdogans Turkey (supporting Isis)
The United States has attacked several countries that were Islam light (almost secular). Iran in 1952, Iraq under Hussein and Lybia under Khaddafi. Have you looked at these countries currently? They are chaotic and severely Islamic.
More importantly, the US has ‘fought’ Isis for over a year and they only grew stronger. Russia got involved and in 3 months, Isis lost 15% of its territory and the Iraqi and Syrian army took back several cities. On top of that: Iran, Iraq, Syria and Jordan are looking for an alliance with Russia.
Now tell me: are you still convinced that the United States government that is directed by business interests can be considered to be the good guys here?
gravenimage says
Calling this idiocy what it is is not “character assassination”.
Blaming America for the existence of violent Jihad is utterly witless.
And JBubs is quite right–the violence of Islam precedes the existence of the United States by well over a millenium, and continues today on just the same basis.
There is no doubt that the US and the rest of West have further emboldened Islam through cluelessness and “political correctness”, but this is very different from their being responsible for Jihad savagery.
GuntherL says
Yeah, right. The fact that the US overthrows secular governments and its allies are the most extreme Islamic states, is not relevant at all, is it?
The US has done everything the past decades to support Islamists, but you morons can’t even see the obvious.
Baucent says
Iran is arming itself for it’s own expansionist aims. As for the US occupying Afghanistan, do you have any idea how FEW US troops are now in Afghanistan? Nowhere near enough to be an occupying army and when Obama withdraws them the country will quickly fall to the Taliban. But then, you probably would be happy about that.
DFD says
Günther L: Mit allem Respect, aber: Du bist wirklich ein *IDIOT* !
Just have a look and think when they Iranians started screeching ‘death to America’, and how many Islamic hell holes the Americans had occupied at that point in time.

Let me put this way, and also for the info of the other participants: Günther is not representative of any of the peoples forming the Allemanic tribes, ranging from the Germans/Scandinavians in the West, to the Slaves, and mostly Russians, in the East.
My apologies for Günther.
Please save yourselves any negative remarks, stating that we have the likes “Allahu-Akbar Angela” and the morons governing the Scandinavian countries, and the UK, and France, and… Should you do so, I will severely retaliate by pointing at Obama, Hillary and her hubby Bill – never mind the olde peanut farmer.

PS: Should Trump lose, can you send him to Europe; please, please?
GuntherL says
Oh dear.
First of all, I’m not German. Just one of your many wrong conclusions.
Beside your lack of knowledge of history, you also make wrong claims.
I despise Angela Merkels open door policy and I hate the crazy Scandinavian policies, especially in Sweden.
You think I’m left wing and I’m not.
Regarding Iran: as I explained earlier: the US and UK removed their elected president in 1952 and installed a puppet regime ran by the Shah. Surprised that they rose against the nations who did this? I’m not.
Now, instead of apologizing on my behalf, you’d better learn some history. Regarding your insults: I don’t give a shit. When you’re educated enough to properly debate me (I’d give it 10+ years), let me know.

Indeed. Jimmy “Marshmallow Soft” Carter stopped supporting the US-friendly, secular Shah, not because a close relationship with the Shah or Iran was detrimental to US interests (because who ever heard of an US president managing foreign relations having the best interests of the US at heart, right?) but on the grounds that the Shah was violating human rights of Iranians, and the Iranian Revolution that brought the mullahs to power happened shortly after. Same thing happened in Nicaragua – the US stopped supporting the regime on the grounds of human rights violations, the regime fell shortly.

From the above article it’s very obvious that Obama and Kerry along with many other naive and gullible politicians of the West are no match, at all, in negotiation with the sly, insidious and deceptive Islamic fiends who now have so much power in this tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran. That so called “deal'” with Iran is a travesty as well as a sick and tragic joke. Any thinking person after really looking this that “deal”can see that it’s a farce,a hoax and a disaster.

Is there anything more the Iranian muslims can do to humiliate Hussein Obama? He has already been shown up as a fool and a cardboard fake of a president! I sure hope our lefties and blacks are happy with the fake president they have foisted off on the US. ‘It’s because I’m black, isn’t it’ … an excuse ginned up by his sycophants, muslim-loving staff of enemy yes men and lapdogs… fits his view of reality. MORE than half of Americans think he is the worst pres in history… that should be sobering, but not for a self-worshipping clown like Hussein. The man has no shame whatsoever. Hey, Barry, we are laughing at you and praying we won’t miss it when you miss a step while dancing down the stairs of Airforce One. More like the leader of another nation, guess which one. Did the Pentagon submit? come on wake up. Deception is a huge part of subversion, and they may be relying on unreliable, religiously incompatible sources. Read the doctrine, it is all about conquering the infidel’s (non-believers land by immigration or refugees), and taking us down by our hand.
It is not about countries, it’s the world wide movement of the people who complain about the truth.
Any treaty would be temporary at best, and a deception.

I’m quite aware of this, underbed cat. The Treaty of Hudaibiya has set the tone for Muslim “agreements” with Infidels down through the centuries.

Can you have a real treaty with a nation that is committed, with a religious fervor, to your destruction? Can you really negotiate with people who pride themselves on deceit?
Yes, you can. Except that they will take pleasure in contravening every term and defying your position forever, while you play catch up and claim you didn’t know.

I’m sure Obama has Tehran shaking in their boots. Plus, they are more than aware Obama is not merely a weak-kneed sloth but a behind-the-scene ally. His alliance is not with Western-democracies but Islam.

I am really starting to believe that Obama is not an appeasor but a traitor, the difference being that an appeasor, no matter how misguided, is still working in what he believes is the best interests of his country, while a traitor has the opposite goal: to destroy his country.
There is just too much evidence that Obama hates America. His goal from Day 1 has been to do everything possible to destroy it.
When people characterize him as stupid, incompetent and/or a wuss, it just doesn’t ring true for me any more. I think the truth is much worse: he is not stupid or weak at all, and he has been extremely effective in accomplishing his goal of weakening America.
