Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Iran’s President: Insulting people’s faith not part of freedom of expression

Jan 27, 2016 10:43 am By Robert Spencer

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has worked for years to compel the West to criminalize criticism of Islam — a Sharia provision — under the guise of ensuring “respect” for “all religious traditions.” This initiative will probably succeed soon. The Pope agrees, as he made clear after the Charlie Hebdo jihad massacre. The President agrees, as he made clear when he said, “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.” Most everyone takes for granted at this point that if you do something that Muslims don’t like and some Muslims try to kill you, it’s your fault, and you should change your behavior or bear the consequences of not doing so. No one thinks anymore that anyone should challenge Muslims to accept the freedom of expression. That idea is gone with the wind, as will be free societies before too long.

Rouhani4

“Iran President’s Remarks on Freedom of Expression Raise Eyebrows,” CBN, January 27, 2016:

Iran President Hassan Rouhani says that insulting people’s faith is not part of freedom expression.

Rouhani made the comment while speaking to reporters after an audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican.

Rouhani said he agreed with the pope’s observation that insulting a religion could produce a violent reaction, like the Paris attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

He mentioned that he and the pope discussed freedom of expression during their Tuesday visit.

“All religions are to be respected, their books and the millions of people who follow the faith,” Rouhani said, adding that insulting them “creates division and doesn’t help anyone.”

Rouhani’s comments, however, aren’t consistent with Iran’s practices.

Earlier this month, Open Doors, a Christian non-profit that tracks persecution, listed Iran in its top 10 countries for practicing extreme persecution of Christians in 2015….

Actually, Rouhani said “all religions,” but he meant only Islam.

“Insulting people’s faith not part of freedom of expression”… unless its Muslims insulting other faiths… then it’s authorized by Sharia law.

The Iranian theocratic fascists forget to mention the above… the fact that they routinely criticize anything that isn’t Shi’ite Islam and persecute it as well…Christians, Bahai’is and Zoroastrians are all severely persecuted by the Iranian fascists. HYPOCRITES!

The Iranian fascist ayatollahs all have PhDs in TAQIYYA.

They mullahs are inviting Europeans to surrender to Islam and submit to discriminatory Sharia law.

Islam never recognizes equality. All of Islam is a game of bait and switch.

Yes, that’s the first course, then after the “invitations” are refused, no matter how politely, Islam provides no other option for itself but to be profoundly “offended” and their “faith” must be violently “defended” and luckily for Islam, as the pre-eminent war-footed-faith, they just happen to be ready. Imagine that, John Lennon.

At that point, all bets are off.

I think the Ayatollah wanted Rouhani to replace Ahmadinejad because he could look like a friendly grandfather while deceit was dripping from his mouth. Ahmadinejad seemed more like an angry dog.

Islam insults every other religion, every secular institution, and every infidel in its official doctrine. Pure Mo-generated hypocrisy

          ………………………

Of course not. Unfortunately, this just means you are licking the boot that kicks you, since oppression of Baha’i and other “filthy Infidels” is carried out exactly on the tenets of Islam and the Qur’an, and on the model of the vicious “Prophet” Muhammed.

And I just differ with you on one point here: Rouhani is not a hypocrite–he is a Muslim supremacist.

It is not as though Islam preaches respect for other faiths–instead, everyone is supposed to “respect” the vicious creed of Islam, while Islam denigrates, oppresses, and murders the followers of every other faith.

He takes the world and everyone as complete fools to dare say something like that.

I’d like to see some of these public figures QUESTION him on that LIE he made about respecting all religions

I’m more free at JIHAD WATCH than Iran. If I said in Iran what I say here I’m looking at 20 years in prison for ‘corrupting the earth’..

Exactly! When they stop, I will; but telling the TRUTH about another’s belief system, religious or political, is NOT “insulting” it; rather, it’s informing those who don’t know what that system is, and that, as in this instance, may very well pose a viable threat to those who don’t know what it requires of its believers! If the said believers don’t LIKE that truth, THEY need to alter their belief system to come more into line with the beliefs of others, or simply keep their dislike of it to themselves. NO ONE forces them to believe in that system. It’s a free will choice. However, the believers do NOT have the right to force others to align with them.

Yeah, except if its Islam, Muslims have all the upper-hand and are entitled to break this rule and mock or even kill other people of other religions or lack of.

Why well because Mohammed mocked other people’s belief, in a way that would get the response he wanted, i.e. other naive pagans and Christians and Jews to rush to the aid to the supposed mean bigoted islamaphobes of Mecca, who criticized Mohammed for mocking their beliefs and causing divisions within the city, even though they had no problem with Mohammed and his 100 or so followers practicing Islam. If anyone knows about doctrine of abrogation, the way that Mohammed explicitly said how you should understand contradictory verses, then you know what I mean, as in every Muslim is commanded imitate Mohammed unquestionably. So if he has sex with a minor, then its halal (permissible), if he hates a type of snake, kill or eat a type of meat (pork), then its haram (forbidden). This is how he defines perfect morality, a lot like Simon says, except if you get out of line even by a few verses or a single character, your DEAD.

Double-standards. Call him out for his hypocrisy.

The Qur’an itself insults the crap out of all ‘other’ religions, so if he was serious he’d be asking for it to be banned.
