“It was not immediately clear what motivated the shooting.” Seriously? With Muslim clerics exhorting “Palestinians” from mosque pulpits to murder Jews, the BBC can’t find a motive? The denial of the jihad threat has long ago passed the ridiculous stage.
“Tel Aviv shooting: Two dead, Israeli police say,” BBC, January 1, 2016:
Two people have died and and at least five have been injured after a gunman opened fire at a bar in central Tel Aviv, Israeli police say.
Police units are searching the area for the suspect, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.
The incident took place in a bar on Dizengoff Street. It was not immediately clear what motivated the shooting, which follows a wave of Palestinian attacks against Israelis over the past few months.
Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai told reporters at the scene that “this appears to be a terrorist attack motivated by nationalism,” the Jerusalem Post reported.
An eyewitness told Israeli TV that the gunman was young and had an assault rifle.
As of 23 December, at least 21 Israelis had been killed in the recent violence, most of them in stabbings and shooting attacks by Palestinians.
At least 131 Palestinians have also been killed. More than half were said by Israel to be attackers. Others have been killed in clashes with Israeli forces.
Mr Rosenfeld told the BBC: “It’s not clear what the background of the incident is, if it’s a terrorist attack or if it’s criminal-related.”…

Interesting, Israeli news sites are also reticent to name the motive. David Horovitz (editor, Times of Israel) wrote:
“Police said a copy of the Koran was found in his backpack afterwards, Channel 2 reported. The TV report noted that security sources were not saying whether this pointed to his motivation, or was intended to mislead….”
Who is the calm Tel Aviv killer, and why did he open fire?
BY DAVID HOROVITZ January 1, 2016, 5:37 pm
If the murderer is a ‘Palestinian’ Muslim why are the motives, either nationalistic terrorism or criminal? This term “nationalistic” (terrorism) appears elsewhere on Israeli news sites. Why not a third possible motive; Islamic terrorism? In other words, religiously motivated terrorism.
wildjew says
David Horovitz wrote: “Highly unusually, police were not prepared to say whether the motivation for the attack, in which at least two people were killed, was nationalistic terrorism, or criminal.
They released a security still of the attacker, and said he was armed with a Carl Gustav rifle. But although that kind of weapon is said to be widely available in the West Bank and among Bedouin, they said, this did not conclusively point to the motive for the attack…..”

Based on one of yesterday’s JW articles, I’m guessing that Lina Allan is just fine with this atrocity. After all, according to her, the Jewish victims were only animals.

Stole the gun from his father who works in security. Whose security?

It’s not uncommon for Muslim Arabs to work as security guards at schools/malls etc.
The security guard of the school that my wife teaches in is a Muslim Arab. We never had any problems with them, and i think this is the first time something like this happened. Notice also that the father immediately notified the police.
I do wonder though, what kind of a security guard has a semi-auto Spectre M4 Falcon in Israel?

You wrote (I assume you are in Israel?) – “It’s not uncommon for Muslim Arabs to work as security guards at schools/malls etc.

But not necessarily the last. There is always a first time. and then there *will* be a next time, and a next and a next and a next…
I am sorry, but when I read that there are declared card-carrying *Muslims* working as *security guards* in schools and malls in **Israel**, cold shivers ran right down my back.
You might as well hire foxes to guard hen-houses.
War is Deceit.
Playing Muslim Roulette.
Because you can NEVER, never know which apparently-moderate, nicely-smiling friendly-appearing Muslim will suddenly…Go Jihad on you.

Raymond Ibrahim: The Threat of Islamic Betrayal
**What** better method of gaining access to ‘soft’ targets such as schools and shopping centres could one imagine, that that of infiltrating the companies that provide private security? Even the guard himself does not Go Jihad, he might still willingly or unwillingly, knowingly or even unknowingly aid those who do.
There was a human bomb attack in a hotel in Jakarta that was enabled by a Muslim jihadi who worked in the hotel, not as a security guard even, but as a *florist*. Mr Invisible Man, meekly scuttling from room to room with his watering-pot, arranging the flowers in the vases to make the rooms and waiting areas look pretty….and he was **plotting Jihad**.
**right now**, two Muslim Arabs who worked in a hotel in Eilat have been arrested because they were found to be plotting to **set off a bomb** inside the hotel in order to kill Jews.
I recall two other Muslim Arabs who worked in Israel in a kosher restaurant. They were caught plotting to lace the food with thallium.
Jews in Israel have been murdered by Muslim employees before now; by people they presumably trusted.
We Infidels have got to get it through our heads that, except under circumstances where it has overwhelming advantage, the Ummah tends to be an ‘ambush predator’.

‘Insider Killings’ in Afghanistan
He mentions “Acehnese murder” (Aceh being, not coincidentally, *the* most orthodox and thoroughly-Islamised region of the East Indies).
“…The problem of deceit and betrayal was also a rank-and-file problem.
“There was no shortage of would-be Acehnese martyrs who, for the sake of gaining a victim, were willing to feign friendship with the Dutch, before drawing their knives against them. The phenomenon of unpredictable killings by the Acehnese came to be known as Atjèh-moord ‘Acehnese murder’…”.

Very good dumbledoresarmy.
Lets not forget that the friend of the San Bernardion attacker, Enrique Marquez, called 911 only because he knew the guns his bought would be traced back to him.
And thank you, dumbledoresarmy, for that reference to “Acehmord.” An education in itself.

This is a page from: “Anomie and Violence: Non-truth and Reconciliation in Indonesian Peacebuilding” by John Braithwaite, Valerie Braithwaite, Michael Cookson, Leah Dunn. A corker of a title. I’m assuming the non-truth part has to do with taqiyya.
This page has the following: [quote] Alfian [2006:111-17] concluded that the Acehnese fighting spirit was inspired in part by a set of poetic tales called the Hikayat Perang Sabil, which was usually read before going onto the battlefield. Among other things, it promised everlasting happiness for martyers, delicious food, eternal marrage of martyers to 72 beautiful angels and forgiveness by God of all the sins of the 70 family members of the martyer. Alfian [2006:113] concludes that the defiant Acehnese identity nurtured by these poetic tales helps account for the large numbers of suicidal attacks on Dutch forces during the war by women and children, 700 of whom were killed in battle in 1904 alone, according to Dutch sources. [quote/]
https://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hikayat_Prang_Sabi (English translation) [quote] Saga Prang Sabi types tambeh mostly written by scholars that contains advice, invitations and calls to plunge into the fray jihaad FII Sabilillaah, establish the religion of Allah from undermining infidels and rewards earned rewards are great. …the adaptation was written in 1834 almost 40 years before Aceh War broke out, [quote/]
Note well, this occured in 1904. Well before the advent of the modern state of Israel.
All this is not about Israel. Its about the Islamics finally getting revived again because the West gave the Sunni Saudis and the Shitte Iranians their oilfields. The advent of modern Israel only precipitated what was already inherent and slightly dormant in Islam. Now Islam has fully woken up. And the West is only beginning to be woken up to its threat.

The mayor said, “this appears to be a terrorist attack motivated by nationalism”
Nope. It’s a jihad attack motivated by religious bigotry, religious supremacism, and religious fascism.
ECAW says
In this case it’s wrong to pin the blame on the BBC. They are only reporting what the police spokesman said.
wildjew says
Exactly. Why jump to irrational conclusions that this has anything to do with Muslims or Islam? BBC is exercising good judgment; prudence.
ECAW says
Read the bloody post. The BBC are not making any judgment or conclusion. They are merely passing on what the police told them. It’s called reporting. Not everything they do is an opinion piece.

The BBC is a joke run by idiots just like the NYT just like RT just like…..all the other crappy mainstream media who is so in love with Islam and Jihadis.

The Israeli press is being responsible in not stating that the attacker is a Muslim, and in not speculating upon a motive.
Several years back, an attacker murdered several young people at a gay social club in Tel Aviv, and the leftist Israeli press and politicians immediately attacked the allegedly religious affiliation of the not-yet-apprehended murderer. Several years later, the police caught the attacker, and it was proven that the murderer was connected to an organized crime syndicate, and that he was seeking revenge for the alleged rape of a male relative.
It behooves us not to jump to any conclusions so as not to have to wipe egg from our faces later on.
mike ryan says
Ok. It turns out the murderer is an Israeli Arab. He was identified by his father to the police shortly ago.
Matthieu Baudin says
Israeli’s have long learned to live with the indiscriminate violence of Islamic fuelled terrorism. Given their location this vigilance and stoicism may be as good as it can gets, but it’s not something I’d want others, in far away lands, to take as the norm of everyday life. I must travel to Israel one day to get a better feel for how it has held together, even thrived, in a region perpetually at war with itself.
Lawrence says
I am usually in that area of Dizengoff or thereabouts, where the attack happened on Friday afternoons. I just happen to be out of the country. The Israeli media itself – at least enough of them – is scratching its head wondering what the motive of the attack is. What does a Koran from the religion of peace have to do with anything after all. Or all this talk of being inspired by ISIS/Daesh. Yes because Daesh explains you know the history of bloody jihad against the Jews since Israel’s founding and for centuries and centuries before then. Are Jewish Israelis cretins? As an Israeli I will tell you, the liberal elite certainly are. Because they are liberals first and foremost and thus their brains have fallen out.
Gea says
I was in Israel for two first weeks in October just a few hundred feet from Old city site where two Jews were murdered by knife… It was Saturday and the Old City was rather empty…the Arab merchants are clearly in support of terrorists…when I asked for direction to Western walls, the Muslim guy said taht it was not Western wall but Al-Aqsa mosque.
23% of the Israeli population are Muslims, 2% are Christians…and Muslims are a Fifth column. I had met a nice Arab men, an electrical engineer who abandoned ANY religion and just like living in Israel, but those who are still under the influence of imams who rise them to kill the Jews are potential terrorists…
There will be NO peace an d end to terrorism until Islam ITSELF, as written in Koran, HJadith and Sira stops teaching hatred of ALL non-Muslims and particularly Jews. Two state is a DELUSION and njot a viable solution…Muslims cannot be trusted as they lie all the time, taught by Koran to do so to gain strategic advantages.
BBC had been antisemitic since 1920ies…no surprise here.. By the way Tel Aviv did not exist till Jews founded it in 1909…what was this Muslim doing in Tel Aviv, which was sands before Jews came and made a city there.
Angemon says
In the same way that is not clear what motivated the muslim rape gangs in the UK…
ECAW says
No, not at all in the same way that is not clear what motivated the muslim rape gangs in the UK.
In one the BBC, like all the other media, managed to avoid seeing what should have been obvious to anyone who called themselves journalists. On the other, they merely reported what the Israeli police told them.
It is rather shocking that so many people here, including Robert Spencer, are happy to go beyond the facts just for the undoubted pleasure of bashing the BBC.
Angemon says
I was not bashing the BBC, ECAW. Just pointing out that what drives muslims to mass rape children in the UK is the same thing that drives them to kill Jews in Israel. It’s islam.
ECAW says
OK, we agree on that anyway!
ECAW says
That was in reply to Angemon.
