He was “not the most radical of the four,” and the other three are still at large.
“Philadelphia Police, FBI Investigate New Threat Against Law Enforcement After Ambush, Shooting of Officer,” by Morgan Zalot, NBC10.com, January 10, 2016 (thanks to Steve):
Philadelphia Police are investigating an anonymous tip which claims a group affiliated with the man accused of shooting an officer in an ambush attack is threatening other officers in the city. NBC10’s Drew Smith has the details.
Tensions ran high in the Philadelphia Police Department Sunday in the wake of an attempted assassination of an officer by a man allegedly claiming he did it “in the name of Islam” after an anonymous tip to officers on Saturday said the threat against police in the city is ongoing.
According to a police report obtained by NBC10, an anonymous tipster told officers that, “the threat to police is not over” and that the man who shot Officer Jesse Hartnett is “part of a group that consists of three others,” adding that alleged shooter “is not the most radical of the four.” The report obtained Sunday goes on to say the tipster told police to “be careful.”
Law enforcement officials confirmed Sunday afternoon that police did indeed receive a tip that Edward Archer, the man accused of approaching Hartnett’s patrol car at 60th and Spruce streets Thursday night and opening fire on him at point-blank range, was working among a small group of radical men. Authorities said the tip came from a woman who approached an officer on the street.
Police said they are taking the tip seriously and investigating, and that on Sunday, they were issuing memos to all law-enforcement agencies to warn them to stay vigilant as the investigation continues. They also posted on Facebook that the FBI is investigating the tip as well….

I am NOT at all familiar with Philadelphia.
if the area where the shooting occurred was primarily black- why nit assign MOSTLY BLACK cops there?
They might (or might not) have more insight and be able to get better information then a white policeman?
A thought.
nacazo says
Well, I’m not familiar with Philadelphia either, but your idea would introduce all sorts of human resource potential claims for discrimination. Let’s assume the poor/dangerous neighborhoods are mostly white. Then the white policeman could complain they never get assigned to the more affluent black neighborhoods, is it some sort of discrimination against them??? etc, etc. I suspect the patrolling routes are asigned in a strict rotation basis with no allowance to deviation to the rules implemented by human resources.

Many years ago (mid 1960’s) when the ACLU was NOT FOR CRIMINALS BUT RIGHTS FOR REAL PEOPLE, one of their attorneys ( taught a college course i took)-handled and won a case- a man was fired from some (state) job, because he SPOKE WITH A HEAVY JEWISH ACCENT. (Try that today, substitute Hispanic accent or ebonics). Back to my point- the area where he worked was mostly Eastern European immigrants and their families- who understood him perfectly, and he understood them- even if they were not entirely clear in their English. The attorney won him reinstatement- but to be in areas where he was understood ( fine with the man). Therefore, my thoughts. And, I was unaware Phil. is a sanctuary city.
Myxlplik says
Philadelphia is one of these “sanctuary cities”. Due to the fact that Federal immigration policy is not enforced we have no idea who or what is in that city. I’ve read elsewhere that Philly school districts are 20% Muslim. People from anywhere can just sneak in and set up shop.
Liberals and their policies are literally killing us
Concerned Citizen says
I’ve been saying that about liberals for years! It’s pathetic and sad to say the least!!
SoCalMike says
They get lots of help from Repubes like Paul Ryan, John Kascih, Mitch McConnell and the rest of the posers in the party who are more comfortable letting CNN, the NY Times and the Dems lead them by the nose.
This problem crosses party lines.
I’m hoping the outsiders in the Repube Party can start to change this.
Concerned Citizen says
I did acknowledge that in another comment! These people say they will fight for us, but when they get elected, they do NOTHING! Rhinos are pathetic as well!! Sorry…it’s very sad when Repubs have both the House and Senate and still won’t do anything!! Very frustrating to say the least!
Dan says
And if those are statistically higher crime areas then some liberal would claim racism by pointing out the black cops get assigned to the more dangerous areas.
The trouble with libiots is they can’t reason logically, and can turn anything into racism.
Shane says
It is hard to get Black cops in Black urban areas for two reason. 1) Cops are hated in these neighborhoods and Black cops are looked at as traitors, 2) very few Blacks qualify for the job because they have criminal records.

Disinformation will be flying. The mullah the mosque lost no time to deny knowing this man who as attended there.
Nimrod says
Yea, because it’s not like anyone would expect an Islamic mujahid to be coming from a mosque called Masjid Mujahideen.
Shane says
Most mosques around the world are recruitment centers for jihadis. The mosques teach that everyone should live under sharia and that jihad is the duty of all Muslims.
Nimrod says
Yea, but it seems like they’re usually not dumb enough to name their mosque something like Masjid Jihad or Masjid Kill The Infidel or something.

The worst was the absolute assertion by the mayor of Philadelphia that this act had no connection to Islam. Of course his statements have already left their lasting effect with 90% of the populace. There is an old saying: “It’s not what we don’t know that gets us into trouble, it’s what we know for sure that isn’t so.” I would love to believe that the mayor simply isn’t an intelligent man and that this isn’t taqqiya — but we all know it is.
If the MSM and Hussein Obama Administration admitted this is terrorism then it would reflect badly on all the pro-Islamic dhimmi’s who contradict blatant truths to keep the average person in the dark.
Depressing.
Oppressaphobe says
This guy is a die-hard, wannabeloved liberal wimp. Just look at his pathetic face and its all you need to know.
They just re-asserted themselves as a sanctuary city, so he is one of those, as our mayor, that cozies up to this administration for whatever reasons.
Instantly I knew this guy had to be checked out thoroughly for other connections. Don’t buy this lone-wolf attitude that the government has been pushing. How long have we heard about the “lone wolf”? So much that I wondered why and now I see why.
They knew this crap was coming and they didn’t have any intention of doing what it would take to stop it, so they try to absorb as much as possible with this one “bounty quicker picker upper paper towel”. It’s just a bunch of cover-up, cover their backsides because they know so much more than they want to tell us….so much more… and the people are just on their own to keep themselves safe, really.
Oppressaphobe says
In fact it was Barach Obama that pushed this lone wolf so much that it made me suspicious. The first time he said it, early on, I sensed he was lying (kinda like tyquia, can’t spell it cuz of google search). I can sense when somebody is deceptive-that’s when I started to small a rat.
Sure, there are lone wolfs, but did San Bernardino turn out to be just a radical couple? Not by a mile. You had neighbors, relatives in my opinion, mosques, networks on the internet–really, an entire community of radicals local and global!
Lone wolf my *ss! If 1/4 of the world’s population is muslim, how can you have a lone wolf–not likely.
Mark says
The problem with labeling things “lone wolf” is that it fails to account for jihadist tactics. For every one of them willing to get his virgins there is a whole support group who recruit, indoctrinate, and radicalize their jihadis. But I’ve come to expect nothing less from the main stream media’s notion of jumping the gun without all the facts. I don’t think too many leftist journalists would make good scientists with their shoddy research.
And worst is that by denying that these attacks have a planning and intelligence behind them we leave them open to plan others. What are the chances that others are being groomed for another attack in that area in this guy’s mosque. For some reason mosques get an immediate shield because attacking religion is considered a big no-no in western society. This is a problem because, as all of us here know: not all religions are equal! Islam is an ideology designed to spread violence but it is protected by anyone daring to criticize it!
Common sense would dictate that religions should be protected only if they are peaceful. I’ve never sat near a Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, or atheist for that matter on an airplane and worried they were going to blow it up. But people *refuse* to see the oh so obvious pattern!
ballotcode says
This is becoming a standard disclaimer.
Houston mosque fire, Cali shooting…
The imams want to distance themselves as far as they can, even though mosques are rife with jihadi preaching.
Carolyne says
So the Philly police chief announces that this is not connected with Islam. Why is that the first thing said by authorities when a Muslim commits murder or in this case, attempted murder? Everybody knows (Except apparently LE) that these attacks are by Muslims simply following their directives given in the Koran. It has everything to do with Islam and no other philosophy. I am tired of this BS.
nacazo says
Masjid Mujahideen means mosque of the jihadis. Not that it has anything to do with islam:)
JAS says
Surprise, surprise! Who would ever have thought that muslim mass murderers might actually be in the USA? And imagine our surprise at learning that this latest muslim killer did it for ISIS, or at least that is what he claims…. but the mayor of Phila says, oh ‘no he didn’t.’. the lefties are circling their wagons and defending this poor, distraught “refugee”. Mr mayor no doubt expects a thank you call from Obozo for his defense of this indefensible pal of Hussein. Better stay by the phone, your honor, he is sure to be calling soon! Pity you missed being invited to the SOTU with the other traitors and foreign agents of CAIR.
